Just got back from Turkey, after our 2nd stay at the Majestic, totally lived up to our expectations. Really enjoyed the whole holiday, especially the warm welcoming of all the Majestic staff, Muzzy, Oznur, Fatma, Burcu, Mehmet, Ahyan and Chef, all GREAT people! After reading some of the previous reviews some people may need to lower their standards, I think they have forgot The Majestic is only 3 star, not 5. Our room was clean and tidy, new sheets and bath towels everyday, rooms cleaned everyday, valubles left almost everyday not touched! Needed anything off maids, only had to ask politley, remember we are guests in their country, manners cost nothing. Sorry to go on so much but after reading some of the reveiws about the staff it's the guests that need to look at themselves and chill out a bit. And just incase you're wondering yes we were a family, 2 adults, 3 children one 12 (boy) and two 15 year olds (girls) don't know what people are saying about Muzzy (Murat) and Mehmet they were just very keen to make your stay a happy one. All in all a great holiday, going back next year, ROLL ON 2010! Thanks Guys!

This wasn't my first time to Turkey, but it was to Oludeniz at the Majestic Hotel. And for a 15 year going with 2 familys..I found it horrible, only nice prospect there was the bartender was really nice, made me laugh. But some of the others Waiters were ignorant, and Muzzy, whos like the Great and Grope person, WAY to fiendly...Girls/Women of the age 13-older should really watch when around him. The pool area was cramped and not safe, with water being eveywhere aound it, anyone could trip, I myself fell over about 3 times on the days I was actually inside the hotel. They hose down the grass at night yeah fair enough, but they get the pathment to the rooms all wet, you could trip here as much as you could by the pool, and they dont put up any warning signs AT ALL! I only seen one by the pool at night, like Wednesdays..thats it. The rooms were cramped, one double bed and one single only to be sepeated by night stands, and air con you have to pay for seperately, a fidge you have to pay fo seperately, which is scanalous! I know we went half board but come one, 4 pound rent a day for air con. and another 4 pound a day for the fidge and 2 pound a day for the safe! Sory but if I wanted space, I had to go to my boyfriends room.
Now the foos, it gave me, and 3 others member of my family Diahrea. It was always the same, never any differant...Breakfest/Dinner they didnt serve salad or anything else besides, soup rice chips potatoe salad, gunge gunge and more gunge, when you said no to an item of food while he cook is there, he shoves his nose in the sky...Not my fault if I dont like it is it? I reallly wouldnt recommend Majestic Hotel, if you one to chill by the pool and not go out to eat. Seiously.

I have just returned from a two week stay with my boyfriend at the Majestic and felt I needed to share our worries with others. The apartments at the Majestic are fair, clean and as we were in the back it was quiet. We paid extra for a family room but when we got there we were told that they don't have them!! The linen was hard and more like large t-towels but seemed clean. The aircon is a must but at £4 a day its not cheap for two weeks.
The first few days went ok, the staff were freindly to start with and it was busy round the very small pool. Then it started to go down hill. We were told that the breakfast ran from 8 till 10. If you got there at 9.30 you would be lucky if there was anything left and the staff would not replace anything when asked!!
People started to get ill and it all seemed to stem from the pool side cafe. After the first week now one would eat there except to have chips!! Also it was so expensive most people would walk to the shop at the entrance of the site and get items there.
The most worring things about the hotel were the male staff. Muzzy is the 'bar manager' apparently but all he seemed to do was latch on to single women and shower them with flowers and cocktails!! On two occasions he actually followed women back to there rooms and tried it on. Both women were with partners and were very upset by this. How this man is still working I do not know! He loves single mums so be warned!!
Then comes his side kick memmet. He does the same as Muzzy but targets the younger girls. It was sickening to watch and everyone tried to warn the new commers of them.
They are also a little handy with telling the kids off and on a couple of occasions actually grab them and shouted at them!!
This totally spoilt the hoilday as we felt we did not want to sit at the bar in the evening and to be honest I don't think we were welcome as soon as you don't join in with them and stop spending money there they turn against you and ignore you. Oh watch out for your change if you do spend there, lots of people got short changed!!
The pool was not looked after at all at the start, It was very hot and had lots of animals in it. After more ill people and trips to the hospital they finally started to look after it a bit more.
We ate out every night and neither of us were ill.
The local beach is ok but it was so hot we only went down the once. The evenings are great in oludeniz with lots of great bars and resturants.
We will def be back to Olu Deniz but will not be returning to the Majestic. Its a shame as the actual set up of the place is ok, They are just letting themselves down a lot. Hopefully a few complaints might change that.

We have just returned from Oludeniz,(12-9-09)having stayed at the Majestic Hotel, the hotel and the room was quite pleasant, room was clean but the linen was a bit past it.The only thing that let it down, was the Bar music was so loud that you could not relax by the pool during the day,and it went on to the early hours. Also the bar manager (OZZY)thinks he is gods gift kept shouting and pestering people, espesially the women. There was an occasion when two women told him to [--] off and leave them alone. The noise from some of guests at night was not on as they were slamming doors and shouting at 3 AM in the morning. If they got rid of the bar man and the noise it would be a relaxing place to be.
The Sugar Beach is brilliant, and easy accessible,no noise and very relaxing,if you want peace and quiet,go there not the hotel.

love Olu Deniz this was our 11 th visit , first time at the Majestic . Overall the Hotel was clean ,staff always cheerfull and helpfull . BUT the LINEN is awfull. Grey hard sheets unironed and only changed once in 2 weeks. The TOWELs I would only use to wash the floor with they are so old and grey and so hard they scratched. We were lucky my sister in law lives not far away and bought us over a supply of fluffy ones.
We still love Olu Deiz and will go back again but maybe not to this Hotel ....

Twelve of us have just spent a week at the Hotel Majestic. The rooms were quite adequate, some however are larger than others. A couple of us asked to be moved and it was no problem. The staff were happy, helpful and fun. The breakfast is not your cooked english style but more of a buffet with cheese and olives, boiled eggs etc. We were a bit worried having read some of the reviews but the whole place was clean and tidy and the pool was lovely and warm. Big thanks to Ozzy the barman, always smiling!! We would definatly go again.

I have had 14 holidays in various resorts in Turkey so far and I found The Majestic Hotel to be good value for money. It is in a good location, handy for everything including the local dolmus's which stop just outside the hotel. The staff were very polite and helpful and seemed to care that you were having a good holiday. The nightwatchman who is repeatedly critisised in other reviews was really nice if you just gave him a chance. I felt really sorry for him because he started work in the afternoons cleaning the pool areas and gardening etc then at about 11pm he was on reception duty right through the night. He snoozed in between guests coming back from late nights out and arriving from the airport, as he got so little sleep its no wonder he was a bit zombiefied!! There are 2 old blocks of rooms and 2 newer ones. I sent a fax a week before I went to the hotel and asked to be put in one of the new blocks which was super. The rooms are large and comfortable although the colour scheme of orange and lime green is not what I would choose. The linen was old but clean and I got clean towels every day and clean sheets every 3 days but I did give the chambermaid a small tip quite early on in the holiday. I only booked B&B which wasnt very good as I have learned never to eat in at the hotel Im staying at because there is usually so little choice. The only real grumble I had was the size of the pool. It is too small for the amount of guests staying there so I suggest you do what my friend and I did and visit any hotel you fancy nearby and use their pool. Nobody minds and it is appreciated if you just buy a coke or something at their bar. All in all it was a good holiday and I am returning to The Majestic next year as it is so cheap. If you want a better hotel and are willing to pay for it I can recommend The Karbel Hotel where I have stayed several times but its difficult to get single rooms there.

we have just come home on the 22 september, staying 2 weeks at the hotel majestic. wish we hade listened to the bad reports about this hotel because thay was spot on what people said. we had to eat out for all meals (we was half board) would not have feed it to my dog and cat. it was left overs from day before at both mornig and night. the cleaning well what can i say, toilets brown, showers green and brown round bottom of shower doors, and the bin you put dirty paper in after up been to the loo was not taken out, the cleaner just emptied out was in it in to another bag, and left the old one in the bin. the furniture look old and out of date, pitty thay did not renew that when refurbished in march 2007. the pool is not big enough for the hotel, we used it once, the sun beds was so close you touched the person next to you and you could not lay the sun bed flat because you would be on the peoples feet at the back of you. and to top it all it is a very noise hotel, our first 4 nights we had no sleep, banging of doors people shouting ,singing, banging feet, and man beatting his wife girl freind dont know whitch, but there was blood all over the next morning, and the cleaners (if thats what you can call them )was cleaning rooms at 2 am in the morning. we had all ready complained but this was the last straw, so we complained again and asked to be moved and we was after others did the same as us some moved rooms some left the hotel, but we could not afford to do that, it was costing us to eat out. so please listen to the bad reports and ours do not go to the hotel majestic. if it had not been for good weather, the magic gardens restuarant and bar, and billys beach in the blue lagoon dont now what we would have done, think we would have been on next flight home. p.s the taps in bath room was green instead of chrome.

Wondered what I had done by booking...

Wondered what I had done by booking this hotel after reading the reviews on this site.
However, I cannot agree with the comments.
I have been coming to this area since 1989 and have stayed in various hotels ranging from 5 star down to 2 star. This hotel is value for money; after all you do get what you pay for! The room was basic with the biggest bed I have seen in Turkey (it was two singles but they were over sized and did not slide apart)! Clean/new mattresses, I agree the bed linen did look like it had been around for a while, but it was clean. The cleaners attended every day and did their job. (For those who leave money and valuables lying around you can hire a safe, don't leave your self open to theft) Also air conditioning is extra.
Breakfast typical Turkish coffee or tea and cereal, bread/toast jam and or cheese ham and tomatoes with olives. Bar prices good compared with local restaurants Ozzy runs a good bar, music was on but not overbearing and I found all staff more than willing to help, but beware they DO NOT SPEAK OR UNDERSTAND English very well, (but then how good is your Turkish?) so maybe it is the attitude of the customers that causes the misunderstandings and attitude in the complaints I have seen.
I would consider returning dependent on prices, but don't be put off and if you have a problem, speak to your rep that is what they are there for.
