Have just returned from our first holiday in Turkey, was everything we had been told, beautiful country, friendly people - will definitely be going back next year. Excursions were the cheapest we had ever come across (especially if you book with individual tour operators and not the reps at the Hotel - would particularly recommend "Easy Riders").
Alize Hotel is beautiful, nicely positioned, not too near the shops and bars but quite near enough to the beach. Staff friendly, rooms cleaned every day. There was always something on the menu that suited. Would certainly recommend this Hotel.

Alize hotel is great went with my sister and her boyfriends family and we all enjoyed it, as I myself had never been to turkey I loved it the hotel as very clean and staff were very welcoming and friendly.
The food was nice but as I am a bit fussy about eating foreign food it was fine but usually the same choice everyday. The entertainment was great for kids and also adults. I will be returning to this hotel in 2007 ! love this hotel.

We have just returned from Hotel Alize in Turkey and want to get straight back onto the next plane. The resort of Olu Deniz is wonderful. Having 2 beautiful teenage daughters initially posed a problem with the local lads, but although they were friendly with my daughters they were not pushy and didn't try to touch them as I had been previously warned of.
In fact they were quite amusing. The Turkish people are lovely and can't do enough for you. The area itself is a quaint village and this will never change as they are not allowed to build anything higher than 2 stories so it will never be turned into a 'benidorm' or 'Tenerife'. Lots of restaurants with wonderful food. Even a lovely English breakfast if you feel the need after 2 weeks of Turkish food.
Restaurants advertise this as Asda bacon, Tesco sausage and Heinz beans with Typhoo tea (very amusing). You must also try bartering, my husband loved this and got lots of bargains. Next year we are not taking many clothes as they are so cheap in turkey you can buy 5 or 7 good quality t-shirts for £10.
If you can you must try the jeep safari as this was fantastic and we got to see the real side of Turkey with the poorest houses in the area and the children come out to great you with the hope that you will give them a few sweets (you gladly do). We also visited Saklikent, this is a large gorge and the water is absolutely freezing but a must to try. During the course of the day you get water thrown at you by the locals and you drive through water constantly and then through dust tracks and finish off in the mud baths and clean off in the coldest river ever.
At the end of the day the jeeps all drive to a petrol station where the staff clean their jeeps and at the rear of the petrol station is a swimming pool (unbelievable but true) so that you can wash off any remnants of mud and dust. You also have lunch included and if you book this on the high street you will save a packet. We used a company called 'express' and they were fantastic.
As for the Alize hotel, this is set in beautiful surroundings and you could lay by the pool all day and take in the hotel which is covered in lovely scented flowers and the mountains are in the background (pure bliss). We went in the main weeks and it never felt over crowded as there are only 62 rooms and we never once had to queue for any food or drink. All staff were wonderful. The only remark I have to make is that the entertainment wasn't brilliant. The staff did try but if you’re looking for brilliant entertainment you will be disappointed. The dancers they arranged were good and the belly dancers. Have to say Errol was very amusing and he called my husband 'Rambo'.
I also had an oil massage in the hotel on my last evening and this was wonderful too. You could also have Turkish bath and sauna but I had already tried this on another trip so didn't do it again.
We made lots of friends and many keep going to the Hotel Alize each year as they love the place and must admit that we have decided that we shall return too. I came back totally relaxed and have been told at work that I look like I have a new lease of life. If anyone is wondering whether to try this hotel you won't be disappointed.
The only disappointing part of the holiday was the lagoon. The photos of the lagoon sold the holiday to me but the beach is shingle and pebbles and the sea is green, although clear. It wasn't a lovely blue colour and there were lots of mosquitoes so got badly bitten. We only visited it twice and didn't want to return as preferred the hotel pool as the kids didn't like the feel of the shingle and they needed to keep their shoes on when going into the sea.
Would also like to thank Kathryn who was our rep from Thomas Cook. She was fantastic; I have never met a rep who was this nice. She was so friendly and knew everyone's names straight away. She also asked holidaymakers to donate any leftover sun lotions, shampoo, conditioners, beach shoes etc at the end of the holiday. This may seem odd but she kept all of them in the boot of her car (CLEO) and if any new holidaymakers needed any items that she had in the boot of her car she just asked for a small donation (around 50 pence or more if you wish) and this money was given to a children's charity to help with their education.
I thought this was a wonderful idea as she had thought of this herself. To date she had collected around £600. Fantastic Kathryn and well done girl! Will miss you.
Will see all staff again next year bye for now!

We thought that this hotel was four star - it definitely isn't. Its difficult to write an objective review as there are features here that are great, and others that really are not and are annoying.
Good things: The food in the restaurant was lovely. As good if not better than some five star hotels we have stayed in. It was available pretty much constantly from 7.30 am until midnight. The staff are great on the whole although the receptionists choose not to speak or understand English when you have a complaint. If you get a nice room (not in the basement) then it is comfortable, clean and the air conditioning works and is almost silent.
Not so good things: The hotel is quite small and can be a little claustrophobic. Everything is next to something, there isn't a great feeling of space although the mountain scenery is very nice. You are tagged with a wrist band upon arrival. Be careful as the ink can rub off and it doesn’t come off your clothes. There is a safe in every room but it will cost you £2 per day to use it! The food in the snack bar leaves a lot to be desired. The pizza and bread based snacks are made up well in advance and left in a glass cupboard for hours - although the kids seemed to like them.
If you get allocated a room in the basement or "dungeon" as my Mum called it, then it is dark and has no view and is a bit smelly, ask to be moved. There are nowhere near enough sun beds. If you are not up by 7.30 with a towel on a bed, forget it! If you are lucky enough to get a bed, try to get one away from the speaker which is blaring music out all day long. Why do the Turkish people assume that we want to listen to Rap and Garage all day?
We did ask for some different music to be played one day and they did oblige, but it was still too loud. The beach is not that near and you have to pay to go on it and for a bed when you get there. Don’t bother with the 12 island boat trip. You will be picked up in a bus which is too small for the amount of passengers, taken round the resort picking up people (sometimes going back to the same hotels 2 or 3 times while they try to find people), taken to Fethiye to board the very large boat where you will crammed on like a sardines.
The promise of 12 islands might be true but you wouldn’t actually know as they are not identified to you. We were told that we would stop at 5 or 6 of the islands and we would be able to get off, walk around the island, swim and sunbathe. We went to 3 actual islands which you couldn’t really walk on, 2 swimming stops and a mud bath. By the time you had queued to get off, it was time to queue to get back on. Very, very disappointing and a long, long day. We were promised paradise and while the scenery was very nice, paradise it was not!
The entertainment is very mediocre. It really depends what you are into. The professional performers (belly dancer, fire and glass man, etc) were very good but the Animation Team performances left a lot to be desired, make sure you have had a few drinks before watching them, they did try though.

I think this hotel was the best hotel I have stayed in, what ever the country, the food was gorgeous they exactly what you wanted, the pool area in fact the whole hotel was very clean all the time.
Day and night they had fun things to do e.g. water-polo and loads of other water games, the entertainers were very good at their jobs especially Errol, Daisy, Dennis and Kuby, I love them all, they were so funny and they have a great personality, they were very kind to all the customers, I got on so well with them I will be going back very soon to see them all.
I would make sure that you visit turkey (Olu Deniz) if you haven’t all ready and stay in this hotel, it is gorgeous and it is just right for all ages. I give this hotel 10/10 because the entertainers and great, the hotel is gorgeous, well everything is, so go! Xx

Pleasant enough although we were told it would be 4* and it most definitely is not!
The food is average if you are happy with 3 different varieties of chicken all week and the same old cold selection or cauliflower cheese every night.
We booked all inclusive and tried to eat at the hotel but nearly every night we went, saw what they had on offer and ate elsewhere. If you are going to book this hotel, have Breakfast and lunch but the all inclusive is a bit of a rip off, especially as they stop serving on the deal at mid-night and the only alcoholic drinks they have on offer are local beer (pretty rank), and local vodka and gin (which tastes dodgy). Even a can of Red Bull is charged at all times at 5 Lira per can!
The bar staff and the maids were lovely and I can't say a bad work against them but generally I would say that the staff were pretty disinterested in us. The entertainment’s staff were great with kids but generally rubbish at entertaining the adults and very immature.
The general feeling of the hotel is chavvy. I hate to generalize but if you are happy to stay in a mediocre, noisy hotel, based on Butlins with a bunch of rowdy, middle aged Northerners then please book up now to avoid disappointment!
The Resort is lovely and in keeping with the hotel is one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed.
The people are nice but be prepared to be hassled for the first 4 days (until you have a tan and they know your faces). Best cheap buys are at Fethiye market although you can't beat the quality of the fakes available actually in the shops. If you want good diamonds, best speak to people staying at the hotel as we were done out of quite a bit of cash when we were there. Watch how much change people give you for the first few days too, a big favorite of theirs to massively short change and you have to fight to get your money back too!
On the whole we have a nice time. The people were nice the weather was amazing and it's a pretty place to go - although the lagoon is a total waste of time. Book up but my advise is to shop about on local websites for 2 star hotels with 20 rooms or so, near the beach as they all looked lovely and with all the facilities you need!
The Alize is just too over priced and has a very high opinion of itself. Too far from the beach, not enough sun loungers (don’t even get me started on that one!), too small a pool for the number of guests and too noisy!

I would like to give 10 out of 10 for Olu Deniz resort and the Turkish people there as they really friendly, we have been 2 years running and they still remembered us.
Now for the bad bits, we returned to the Alize hotel this year because we had such a lovely time last year, but what a big mistake, the only thing that was good about the hotel is the cleaners and gardener keep it spotless and they were friendly.
The other staff looked miserable most of the time. The food was cold and greasy, no covering so flies could get on food, one day on the first week they ran out of milk for breakfast and they had no English tea, told be getting it the next week, but when even other guests complained about the food it did not make any difference, so we ate out most of the time.
I will be going back to Olu Deniz, but not to the Alize and not all inclusive as there is some lovely places in the resort to eat and very reasonable.

Second time back to Olu Deniz and first time at Alize Hotel. Our family comprised two adults ages 40, 47, 2 children ages 7 & 10.
Good Bits - the hotel is very stylish and spotlessly clean. The rooms are cleaned every day and the staff are generally happy. The animation team, (particularly Errol and Daisy) are genuinely jolly people who do all they can to provide entertainment and games for all. The location is in a quiet area but only a few minutes walk from the main resort centre with its bustling shops, market and bars. The obligatory British yob culture hasn't seemingly arrived in Olu Deniz yet making the many bars, restaurants and tavernas suitable for all ages. The Turkish people are exceptionally good natured and will tout their business in a friendly manner, and are seldom persistent once given a firm but polite 'No!'. The beach is gorgeous and a trip to the Blue Lagoon is a must.
No so good Bits - It was a little 'Groundhog Day' with very little change. Each morning around 10.15 am you are woken by a rendition of 'Good Morning' from the musical 'Singin' in the Rain', ironic choice I thought, followed by Darts, Aqua Gym, Pool Games (1001 things you can do with a Surf Board), Water Polo and Volley Ball. Of course you will miss all this entertainment and sun, if you don't set your alarm clock to get a sun bed by the pool. If you are not out with your towel at around 6.00am, you have no chance - despite constant and empty threats by management that towels will be removed before 9.00am.
The food is nothing short of dismal, that may be a bit strong well ok -uninviting! Chicken, Chicken, and more Chicken and the same salad choice with the basic menu operating on a weekly basis. As an alternative there were snacks available which comprised Pizza, cheesy bread or a burger - you've guessed it, every day!. We didn't starve, but just wished it could be more imaginative and varied. Soft and local alcoholic drinks in abundance and plenty of mineral water available. Oh! and don't get hung up by the Becks and Efes beer taps on the bar. Becks you have to purchase, however it is Becks (Bremen) that brews Efes in Turkey I am reliably informed so no difference! Last but not least, the hotel seems popular with many nationalities - English, French, German, Lithuanian, Turkish and Polish.
Overall we enjoyed the holiday, temperatures did soar to 45 degrees which made it a bit uncomfortable and England missed the semi final after losing to Portugal on penalties which made it totally unbearable, however all the people we met and made friends with during our stay made all the difference - John, Sue, Matt, Gemma, Charlotte, Lorraine and Kevin from Wolverhampton (not Birmingham, sorry John!), Viviene and Gareth from Wales, Dave and Barbera, the Essex girls and last but not least Stormin' Norman who despite his years had more life than the rest of us put together. Good on yer Norm, may you enjoy many, many more and thanks for being a surrogate Granddad to our kids - they loved you!

What a fab hotel arrived early hours of the morning with 3 friends ages 54, 49, 44, 40. We didn't go to bed we watched the sun come up over the mountains breathtaking, asked for coffee at 5.30am no problem, the hotel is spotless staff are very friendly, pool bar staff a bit miserable, but hey we got over it the rest of the staff made up for it.
Food was very good lots of choice, myself am a fussy eater I didn’t starve I would give the food 8/10. Drinks are as follows, fresh orange juice peach juice, pomegranate and grape? Orange or lemon squash bottled water from machine, coke diet coke, sprite and Fanta orange, lager, vodka, brandy, gin, white and red wine quite nice tea and coffee bar staff won't tell you what’s all inclusive and their is no list.
Entertainment not bad, Errol and daisy are great especially with the kids and two of the nicest and funny people you could meet. Rooms are a bit small but don’t be put off make do the place is worth it and are very clean inclusive, mini fridge, telly, air conditioning. Out and about, locals are very friendly drinks not cheap, recommend you buy a couple of duty free bottles on way out put in your mini fridge trips are very good, don't book with rep you will pay double shop around most places will pick you up and return you to your hotel.
Olu Deniz caters for all ages young, old, singles, families, without the yobbo's lovely resort locals know how to party and give a party to make your stay memorable. Just have a great time, we certainly did.

Our first time in the Alize and in Olu Deniz, we were a group of 9 ages 72, 42, 42, 19, 18, 18, 16, 14 & 14. The Alize is spotlessly clean, as is Olu Deniz, we saw no litter at all anywhere. The cleaning staff, gardener and pool attendant do a fantastic job, rooms cleaned every day, clean bedding and towels every day. The staff overall however are a bit on the miserable side in comparison to the Turkish people we met in the resort, who were the most welcoming, most helpful, warm and friendly people we have ever met anywhere in the world. The staff in the restaurant and bar areas offered good service but rarely with a smile.
The food was plentiful but not always hot, and during breakfast and lunch flies were being allowed to crawl over uncovered hot food. The dishes were mainly Turkish with a barbecued dish most evenings, usually chicken or meatballs. The breakfast was mainly continental, breads, cold meats, cereals, scrambled or boiled eggs, frankfurter style sausages and tomatoes, again, not always hot.
The entertainment was generally good, something for the family every night, lots of sports activities during the day and kids were well looked after. There is also a great garden area with kids playground, Wendy house and toys for the kids which is also a lovely sunbathing area for parents.
All in all a stunning, spotless hotel with great facilities, in a great position close to all amenities, shops bars restaurants and Olu Deniz beach, also a doctor, clinic and chemist just a few mins walk. stunning scenery, against a fantastic mountain backdrop.
The resort of Olu Deniz is unbeatable. Again spotlessly clean, lovely people, beautiful scenery. The Lagoon is amazing, take a peddle boat out to catch the best scenery, pretty coves and beaches dotted around the lagoon, absolutely stunning, but take flip flops as the beaches are shingle and painful to walk on.
Lastly we were here in may, and although the days were lovely and warm, around 80 degrees, the evenings were really chilly! Oh and Hisaronu well worth a visit, especially for the market and shops, also for the young and lively, the nightlife, although not mad, is quite lively. Our teens loved it. Fethiye also great for market and shops and very pretty.
We will definitely return to Olu Deniz this summer.
ENJOY!

Fab clean hotel, staff are so helpful and polite, the surrounding area is beautiful. The pool is clean and the poolside is continually cleaned and cleared of plates and glasses.
The entertainment staff are worth their weight in gold and the food was out of this world.
