May 2008, Mrs P Jones

this hotel is in a fab location close to everthing with great views.
the cleaners are the best we have come across they are working hard all day we had clean towels every day and our bedding was changed once in the week we were there.
the room had every thing we needed.
the food was ok we didnot go hungry and the snack bar done great pizza, burgers chips and sandwiches.
the all inclusive drinks was local produced alchol same as every other all in hotel and the measure were not short i even had to ask for my vodka to be halved shots.
the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpfull.
the entertainment could have been better but they tried their hardest and worked very long hours.
we arrived back 2 days ago and are looking to go back next year.

Mar 2008, Mrs S.e Bailey

arrived at dalaman and boarded our coach. we stopped at a garage about half way to olu diniz to of load some passengers that were going to different places. there was suppose to be another coach waiting for them but it was not there. it was 30 minuetes before it came. finally got to hotel alize. nice looking hotel. got a basement room which was clean but dark. balcolny was very small and only used it to dry our swimming things. all the staff are very friendly. food was rubbih, no real choice. bar area small and not enough places to sit so you never get settled for a good evenings drink. we ate out alot for breakfast and found a nice place called josephs for evening meals. olu diniz itself is a nice place. went to the lagoon alot which was great. went on 2 trips scuba diving and a trip to the mud baths and then on to turtle beach which was great. also went up on a micro light with flying south it was really good and i think you all shoud try it. all in all a good holiday and would go again, but i would try a different hotel and not go all inclusive.

Me and my partner, now husband been...

Sep 2007, gizmo69

Me and my partner, now husband been as we got married in Turkey while staying at the Hotel Alize this year, have just come back from a 2 week holiday.
All I can say is this hotel is lovely! Staff are so welcoming and friendly. You get maid service everyday! There are activities to do like pool games and there's the water slide that's a hit with everyone!!
The music they play is a bit loud at times, like 10:20am with a good morning song every morning drives you mad at times! The only fault is the food, there was nothing wrong with it, its just it lacked in variety if you like chicken then you will love the menu, but my hubby would have lived on chicken and chips if we hadn't gone out for meals, and I love my breakfast, but there wasn't much to choose from really, desserts are lovely though!
All in all we had a great holiday here, Olu Deniz is quiet compared to Marmaris which we went to last year, so if its relaxation you want then defo come here.

Warning to anybody thinking of going...
1 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr S Watts

Warning to anybody thinking of going to this hotel, please beware that the food is not good; the snack bar was the worst part of the hotel, long queuing and one type of pizza, when they made it.
The free ice cream for the kids was served the same time that the waterslide opened,1 hour only, hence all kids on slide no kids at the ice cream bar...the health drinks bar that Thomas Cook advertise in their book, just does not exist.
The Turkish bath is also not free. And much cheaper in the town. The bar has 2 lagers, efes, and Becks, drink the Becks it’s much better than the efes. All shorts are the local type and weak, but Louis the bar man makes you all welcome and works very long hours.9am till 2pm.
Lots of people complained to the rep, but we all got the same reply from her.
The hotel itself was brill and very clean, but the hotel lets itself down with the things that I have talked about.
The staff in the bar and the room cleaners take all the credit.
Olu Deniz is paradise... Stay away from a bloke called bloody gorgeous, who sells trips to tourists, to be safe go to the easy riders, on the sea front.
Met some nice people out there, from England and Wales who kept us happy and in stitches by the pool and in the bar at night (thanks to you all).
I am going to come back next year, but not in this hotel. It was a very, very, very big let down.

Jul 2007, Mr M Watts

Great hotel, nice, clean, friendly staff. Olu Deniz is a wonderful place great people.
The only thing that lets the hotel down is the food, which is a pity as everything other than the food was great.
Lewis the barman a gentleman, Dot in the Turkish baths what a star this lady was, thanks for the (washing clothes ).
Entertainment a little poor. Would love to go back to Olu Deniz but Alize don’t know, please improve the food.
And one last note the cleaners of room and pool deserve a special mention, hard working people.
And stay away from a salesman called bloody gorgeous (George) in the strip.
Thanks to Guide Tours and Easy Riders, great lads and great trips provided by the later.

We stayed at Hotel Alize for a 7...
8 / 10
Jul 2007, Mr D Ledger

We stayed at Hotel Alize for a 7 night chill out break. We had already read some of the previous reviews and was hopeful of a good holiday.
Accommodation; Very good the rooms were very clean and the maids cleaned them on a regular basis. We were situated on the 3rd floor which had really good views of the full complex, mountains and sea. Try not to get lumbered with one of the basement rooms, as they are a little bit dark.
Pool; Excellent, cleaned on a regular basis, small children’s pool, plenty of sunbeds but get down early for a prime sunbathing spot, also the beds are very close together but are OK in general.
Pool Bar; Good service and comfortable seating, although you have to leave them if there is any entertainment on as this carried out in a different part of the complex.
Entertainment; Daytime entertainers did a good job, pool games etc. Evenings could have been better.
Food; Plenty to choose from although it probably suited those people on weight watchers as there was always plenty of salad. It would have been better if there was a little red meat on offer, if you have anything off the BBQ make sure it is cooked all the way through as they tend to rush some of the cooking, e.g.; chicken.
Staff; All staff was friendly and were willing to help, which was appreciated considering the long hours they put in.
Olu Deniz; Small, friendly, one main street leading down to beach area. Shop around as the traders; as usual tend to come up with some stupid prices. Nice restaurant on the beach front called Bella Gusto well worth a visit if you want a nice T-bone steak
Overall; we both had a good weeks break we think a week in Olu Deniz is long enough. We met some nice people from Liverpool, London, and Wales.
All the best to Debbie & Ben. Mike & Sean and Steve's family with Adam hope you all enjoyed your holiday and had a safe flight home.
Regards
Dave & Caroline

Jun 2007, Mr M Hook

Firstly - Hello to the "Smiths" and we'll see you next year hopefully!
Second visit to the Alize, and 9th to this area of Turkey. Again, we had an absolutely brilliant time.
The hotel is spotless, the food is I'd say nothing special but at the same time you won't go hungry. By this I mean the menu gets a little repetitive, but with the excellent restaurants nearby at brilliant prices, you have no excuse to not go out and try some traditional food - although it seems so many people expect to have the same food that they have at home, and so sadly to us, Turkey in many area's is becoming very English.
Again the staff and local people couldn't do enough to make you welcome. You can do as much or as little as you like. The Entertainment can sometimes be a little cheesy, but it's all in good fun.
Rooms/location/access/facilities are better than most for the area, by that most hotel rooms in Turkey are very basic with minimal decor.
Olu Deniz is a great base to start from to see many different areas and cultures of Turkey, with lots of attractions within an hour's drive away.
Anyone researching this will already know about the Blue Lagoon, and the lively town of Hisaronu, the harbour of Fetiye, and the tranquil Calis.
In summary a great place to relax, have fun and meet new friends.
See you all again in the up and coming years.
Mark, Kathryn and Alicia.

May 2007, Mrs Patricia Smith

We have just returned from a fabulous two weeks at this beautiful resort.
The hotel was lovely, the rooms were cleaned daily, and the gardens were immaculate.
The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and made our stay here very pleasant. The food was very nice with plenty of choice and the entertainment staff were brilliant.
The children were made a big fuss of and they enjoyed the mini disco every evening.
The pool area was amazing and there was plenty to do throughout the day. I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel again; in fact we are hoping to go back next year.
This was our sixth time in Olu Deniz and I think that this has been our favourite hotel so far. The resort of Olu Deniz is fabulous, the scenery, the lagoon, the people, I could go on and on.
We are going back in September but to a different hotel, I will keep you posted, I can't help wishing that we were going back to the Alize though.

My fiancé and I flew to Turkey for...
8 / 10
May 2007, Miss V Gascoigne

My fiancé and I flew to Turkey for the first time on Friday the 4th May 2007 for one week at Hotel Alize in Olu Deniz. We flew with Thomas Cook - which was fine, although horrible flight times travelling through the night.
Transfers:
On arrival at the hotel after an hour and twenty minutes on a coach - which was NOT the bumpy unpleasant ride I was expecting.
The Hotel Rooms:
The hotel was immaculate - gorgeous infact. The reception staff were friendly and very easy going. We were taken to our room, which was on the top floor - but even that was only two flights of stairs up - so you couldn’t fault that!
Two single beds next to each other, a small balcony with two chairs and a table, a fridge, a hair dryer, a shower - that always had hot water, a dressing table, wardrobe with plenty of space and hangers - although I did take some more with me, and a gorgeous view from the balcony over the pool. No faults what so ever.
The Hotel:
We were all inclusive - which I think you had to be at the hotel. The free drink was obviously not branded spirits such as Smirnoff Vodka etc, but the local beer/lager was fine for my partner - he had no complaints! I am pickier with my drinks, but just pretty much alternated my drinks throughout the holiday. Drinks were served 7am - 12 midnight.
Breakfast:
Was fine, lots of different breads, cereals, cheeses, yoghurts and of course - for my fiancé, the 'fry up', which was not a great choice, diced sausage, tomato, scrambled egg and potato, but there was a man making fresh omelettes throughout the morning - which were gorgeous! Breakfast was served 7am - 11am - you can’t fault the times!
Lunch & Evening Meal:
Again lots of choice, salads, different soups, breads, and the evening meal had at least two choices of meat and a fish dish and usually a man serving bbq food. Lots of choice. Lunch was 12 - 3 and the evening meal was 7 - 9.30.
Snacks:
There was a burger hut that had burgers, pizzas, chips etc. This was open 12 - 5 and then 11 - 12 at night. Ice creams were available from 3pm - 5pm, again free.
The Pool:
An excellent size, cleaned daily, big slide which was available from around 3 - 5 every day. Everyday there was water volleyball and water gym which seemed popular although we never took part. There was always plenty sun loungers available.
Maids:
Came every day and there was always plenty towels in the rooms.
Evening Entertainment:
Not very good. We only went to it a couple of times, bingo being one of them. The hotel is very relaxed and although the children’s entertainment seemed good - and did occupy the children at the hotel, the adults entertainment did not seem that popular.
Kids:
There was a few young kids there, there was the entertainment on a night for them there, a children’s pool, the slide for the older children, a pool table and a playground beside the bar.
The Blue Lagoon:
Gorgeous. Peaceful, tranquil - just so beautiful. It’s a national park, so there is a slight charge - pennies to tell you the truth! We got a pedelo (spelling!) when we were there for an hour, which was nice and relaxing. Definitely worth a visit.
Olu Deniz:
Small - very small infact. White sandy beach - which must be 300m from our hotel. The sea is very calm. Olu Deniz had a few shops - usually leather shops, selling watches, bags, clothes - which have some nice things in - but you don’t half get hassled by the local!
Cheaper than Asda, Cheaper than Primark, Practically Free, Why You Not Buy, - that’s all they shout. It gets annoying, and truthfully put us off going into a shop unless there was already customers in there! The shop owners hassling you is the problem with Olu Deniz.
We did however buy our wedding rings in Olu Deniz - obviously we were in the shop about 2 hours altogether with the bartering - drinking their apple tea etc. The rings are gorgeous and the jewellers are very clean and professional - Turkey has some gorgeous gold! Just remember to barter and keep to your price!
Flight Home:
Thomas cook were great. However, Dalaman airport, we travelled from Newcastle to Dalaman with a luggage allowance of 15kg each. Going to Dalaman we only had 26kg between us. Coming home - without excess toiletries etc - we didn’t buy anything really at Turkey - cases were definitely lighter.
However, according to Dalaman airport we were 5kg over the limit. Which at £6 per kg is not a cheap flight home! The majority of our flight had to pay excess on their baggage. Our flight was not delayed, but it must have taken an hour and a half to get through check in - and we were nowhere near the back of the queue!
Overall a nice holiday, Olu Deniz, although not much to do, is well worth a visit for a very relaxing holiday! Hotel Alize - excellent. I do not know what other hotels are like there, but I do recommend there!
Enjoy your holiday!

Jan 2007, Miss H Brown

I went to this resort with my best friend. We had an absolute ball and I cannot fault it.
On the first night we met a local who took us with some of his English friends clubbing, he paid for everything and the night was amazing,
There is lots to do there and I recommend going to the Lagoon.
We loved the hotel, it has nice food although it is the same everyday. The pool is lovely and there wasn't too many children there. The hotel is close to the shops etc and there are plenty of things to do ie, water sports.
I would highly recommend this hotel and place and it is very safe.
