on arrival after a 5hr trip from luxor, we were met by our rep who helped us through the booking in procedure. we were four couples and found that our rooms were a bit spread out, we asked reception if we could be moved, no problem, we were upgraded, and all ended up in block 3000 the biggest room i'd been in for quite a while, and i've been about a bit. the room was spotless cleaned every day and the mini bar topped up. we had no problems with sun beds, always plenty available on the beach and by the pools, no trouble from russians, germans, or any other nationalies, they must have heard about us welsh. can't complain about the food, much the same in each restaurant, plenty of it, i loved the soups. the entertainment was a bit dire if you were over 10 and british, but they tried their best. tried all the bars, the islander were a bit mean on the measures, we haunted the sunset bar up in the turret where the drinks were a lot larger. went to hurghuda, not much to see, the harbour is the in place at night, nothing there in the day. to sum the dana beach, we all had a great time, and would recommend to everyone. if you want to fine faults you'll probibly find some, but go and enjoy yourselves like the majority of the people who stayed there.

Lovely place, more 4 star than 5 star, staff very helpful and friendly. Lots of Germans who are very rude only a few English but didn't bother us. We have a 3 year old and 11 and 8 year old, who loved it! food very good. Lovely hotel and area. Swimming pools great. Rooms very clean. The staff were men but my only moan is that they do treat women second class, if i stood at the bar i wouldn't get served first, i would be waiting all night for a drink, not sure if that was because I was English! This hotel could do with more English, we were there for a week but that was enough with the Germans! They just hogged everything even the table tennis ! Not good if you can't walk far, steps everywhere.
Will go to Egypt again next year but not back to Dana.

10/10 was a great holiday me and my family really enjoyed it. I would definately go back and i would certanly reccomend it to others. Planning to go back in summer when the weather is better as it sometimes got a little bit breezy in the winter time. The staff in the piano and bella bar where really friendly and always made sure you were happy and enjoying yourself. When sitting in the bars staff made sure that your glass was never empty. Food on the beach was goood and the italian was where we dined the most. We were there for the christmas and new year party the staff made this special and were working on it everyday to make it a great night. It was held in a huge tent which had over 250 tables was three long table of food and sculptures made out of icing, chcocolate and wax. The entertainment was good as there was a singer, folklore show, belly dancers, kids disco for the young ones and an egyptian show. The animation team was organised kids clubs and also worked in the havana night club over the road which was also part of the hotel. There was entertainment on every night so there was always something to do. There is something to eat on all day so if you waned something to eat you can just help yourself.

Had 1 week weather was great as was the fish in the Red Sea, ground floor room, very small, curtains did not fit in the middle out side plastic table & chairs which were dragged around at 6am every morning. Hardly any lights out side the rooms we had to walk through a covered passage with steps at both ends with no lights. As not quite so mobile I found that a problem every night.
The loud music with a DJ shouting in Egyptian from 10am to 11pm both at hotel and beach if you could get a sun lounger at one end the noise was not to bad but everyone seemed to want to go there. The fish in the Red Sea was wonderful you just have to stand waist deep, very still and they would swim around your legs
2 main resturants with food that all seemed to taste the same, plenty of Germans pushing and shoving and always shouting, and hassle from the Egyptians all the time
would never go back nor recomend it to anyone else.

Our party consisted of my husband, myself, our 9 year old daughter, 2 year old son and mum of 73 years young. Lovely clean and well kept hotel and grounds, loads of swimming areas, beach lovely and free beds and parasols. you can get a boat on the lake to the beach, Children loved this, there are table tennis tables near to all pool areas, a good crazy golf area. the food is very good and pleny of. the only problem we found was the entainment in the evening it wasn't very good and mostly designed for the germans and russians, not many british there but they are hoping to encourage the british as the staff say how much more they like the brits. we had a 2 bedroom hotel room near to the beach and swimming pool which was a great position. I would recommend booking a taxi if no transfer is included before you go to Egypt to pick you up at the airport as we had a real ordeal when we arrived and could have been ripped off if we hadnt have stood our groung on how much we would pay. the hotel if you email them could arrange a taxi to pick you up we got one from the hotel for our return home and paid £17 for the two taxi's as there were 3 adults 2 children 1 pram and 3 suitcases so one taxi was not enough. the staff were great, so we would recommend it on the whole. We didnt go out very often because we didnt enjoy being herased which is what happens especially when they know you are british they seem to have this ellusion that the british are rich!!! mind you they are very polite. We only did 2 trips whilst there because of our 2 year old the submarine which i think was expensive for what the trip ended up being but I would highly recommend the Jeep safari and quad bikes my mum at 73 and 2 year old even did the quad biking in the desert they went on a guides quad we booked these thorough Dana Beach Hotel and after speaking to brits that had booked the same but thorough there rep it wasnt as good as ours, as the hotel provides the food and it was great. oh one thing when you are going home and you go to the airport and thorough the control you will be amazed at all the shops and malls that are there for you to buy your holiday presents from we ended up buying loads from there eg leather bags, belly dancing outfits for young girls etc. as they are a good price and not as full on and you can still haggle.
We went to the hard rock cafe in downtown which was good but very expensive i think the bill ended up at approximately £100.00 you can order a taxi to take you from the hotel and they will come back for you in what ever time you want we did 2 hours there which was ok for us.

Dana Beach is a large attractive all inclusive complex with it's own private beach and 3 pools. The majority of staff, especially the Beach Staff are extremely friendly and efficient. It is a very busy hotel with lots of young families. Between 7pm & 9pm the three buffett style restaurants are extremely busy but we found that if we went for a drink at this time the bars were relativey quiet as were the restaurants from 9pm. Food is very good quality with lots on offer in the evening however breakfast caters mainly for the Germans & Russians with various types of sausage and lunch on the beach is the same thing every day which becomes very tedious. We did not come down with any upset stomachs and tried everything including a lovely meal of lobster & shrimp at the seafood restaurant. Excellent waiter called Hussein.
Having read many reviews we knew there would be a large number of Russians at the resort and that they were rude but we did not imagine the extent of their rudeness and ignorance which after a while rubs off and you start doing as they do. I would estimate the break down of nationalities goes 70% Russian, 25% German and then 5% for the rest of us.
Do not bother with the 1001 nights show at it's sister hotel as it is very dull but the sales man Kamel is a very kind genuine man.
We would definitley suggest taking the boat trip to Mahmya.
Buying souvenirs we would recommend either barganing at the hotel shops or better still wait for the airport on the way home as they are very strict on luggage weight and there is a good Bizarre there with everything.
Don't bother going to Hurghada unless you are up for being pulled around and definitley do not go to a shop owned by Paolo!!! You can get all the same items at the airport for the same or less.
Tipping in the hotel and saying hello to all the staff goes a long way but what ever you read elsewhere they prefer Egyptian money not a pound coin as they can't change them up.
We had a very good holiday at Dana and would go back again. Just be prepared to be the only english speaking people within 30 sun beds and fight for your food at peak times!!

Anyone who complains about this hotel, is absolutely fussy and hard to please. There is not a thing I could think of this hotel, which went wrong. Absolutely beautiful surroundings and lots to do. Seven days were not enough in this hotel.
Hotel-great, no complains, loved belly dancing and step aerobics and swimming.
Staff-did anything and everything for us, to keep us happy, as we are vegetarians, washed pan every time when they cook pasta. Reception staff were very rude but.
Food-not much choice, as we are vegetarian, but absolutely loved desserts, ate almost same thing every day, but as it was freshly prepared to our choice, we have no complaints, but there was plenty for others.
Cleanliness-absolutely spotless, it was so clean, I almost slipped on the mirror clean floor!
Entertainment-some days ok and some days so so..
Activities-loved belly dancing, step aerobics, swimming, snooker, and tennis (both payable)
Overall-lots of Russians and Germans and eastern Europeans, but dint bother us.
Tours-went to Cairo by tour bus(booked independently from the town, only £27 pp, it was worth it, dessert safari-ok, worst food ever, snorkelling-good, worst food again.
Weather-bit windy and breezy, but sunny every day, did get tanned as well, nights quite cold, do need hoody.
Rep from the tour company-hopeless, did not help us at all.
Overall-very satisfied with hotel, staff very hard working, and always smiling. Do not be intimidated by negative reviews and do try this hotel.
Shopping-bought few perfumes, be prepared to listen to history of perfumes for 1 hour before buying! Haggle in good stores as well. Nothing else to buy.
Transport-lots of haggle, do not give more than 20 Egyptian pounds to go in the town.

The best place I have ever been to, the staff, the pool boys, the beach boys, cooks and waiters were great.
I did my Padi course, I passed because my instructor Mohamed was cool he helped me pass and I did so I love it. I will keep going there until I die thank you for the best holiday. There was one boy that helped me lots Ramadan {he rides the boats}, one thing I didn’t like was the r factor and the j factor.
I loved it I miss it so so much

If anyone complains about this place, well all we can say you must be fussy sods. The Food 10/10, Service 10/10, Clean 10/10, Complex 10/10, Small problem with A/C dealt within an hour 10/10, Politeness 10/10, Bedrooms/ bathrooms 10/10.
Although there were far more Germans and Russians than Brits there, there was no problem unless you wanted to make a problem. The drinks, you are as well to ask for 2 dmall glasses of beer as they do not give you the bottle, no problem. The poolside bars, 10/10 there is a bar not far off the sea front, a good relaxing seating area, the service is 10/10 also the bar and snack kiosk next to the sea front 10/10.
The shopping area within the complex is run well, if you want anything BARTER BARTER and BARTER they will drop the price I can assure you (Ask my wife).
Overall the Dana Beach is a very well run place with the holiday maker the first priority. Also, this is not a complaint, I myself work with people whom have learning disabilities and are wheelchair bound, the Ramps that they have are a bit steep for an elderly couple to use but there are a lot of people out there that will help if you need it.
So my views to anyone thinking of booking this hotel, book with ease, you will not be disappointed. Trebor / Jean

After a 4hr police escorted drive from Luxor we arrived at the Dana beach hotel, it was AI as regards everything you want, service, clean, food, area, the complex, pools, if anyone can fault this place, well you must be a moaning so and so, they could have done more in the entertainment side, but all else A1.
If you like swimming, walking, brews, ( teas ) crazy golf, they have it, we had a great week, to make sure our room attendant had his tip, I handed it to him, himself apart from a few other things that we did not want to carry home, e.g./ shampoo, after sun, etc, I also put this in writing to make sure the management knew that the items were given to him.
Just a point on rep service, we have covered a few miles over the world but have never come across a rep that you had to contact by the local phone ( you live and learn don’t you) I tried to find our rep through a German rep ( does that make sense? ) it seem that orbital are not allowed into the Dana beach, so your contact details are written on your paper work, ( this will not happen again!)
Anyway just a word of advice as regards the tips, use your head, they will take the mickey if you are daft enough to tip everyone, well my advise stand in the street, they will take it.
After our week in the resort, we travelled the return police escorted trip back to Luxor, if you are faint hearted, do not sit in the front seat, the drive is fast, in close to the front car, this reason is for security reasons.
The last point I will make, don’t think by putting extra bits in your hand luggage you will save on the access, far from it, we were priced for our luggage at the Luxor airport £81 then £61 and believe it or not, £45 so who is taking the mickey.
Just a last one, when you get out of the taxi at the front of the airport do not let the porters get your case, otherwise you will pay the price, a couple in front of us paid a £10 for a matter of 200 feet, were they taking the mickey. I will let you decide, have a good holiday. Trebor.

My husband and I were extremely pleasantly surprised at the facilities at the Dana Beach hotel. They catered for all ages and the choice of food was excellent. We have only just tried all inclusive but will certainly do it again, the staff were so obliging and attentive and you didn't even have to queue to get your drinks. The standard of cleanliness was so good and a problem with the lights was fixed quickly. I cannot fault the staff or the hotel at all and the close proximity to the beach was great.
Thank you everyone!
