We went here in March 2005 and liked it so much we are returning in September. Staff very courteous and helpful. Mind you it was difficult to hear yourself speak at reception when the music was playing.
Diving centre absolutely first rate; snorkelling wonderful. The food was varied and extremely good and in fact the only thing we could fault was the rip-off with the trip to Luxor where we were heavily overcharged for a long and uncomfortable trip. The guide was also a mine of misinformation. However, only having cause for one gripe in a two-week holiday can't be bad.

Overall, a great holiday. We travelled with two 5 year olds who loved the wide range of facilities and activities on offer.
A firm favourite was the heated pool and the large beach (manmade though so no good for snorkelling). Facilities across the site were excellent and spotlessly clean - even down to the toilets on the beach!
Food was good and available all day (and most of the night) and drinks were available in all areas - and at a height where children can help themselves. Staff were very helpful and pleasant - and all spoke English.
Entertainment for the children was better than for the adults. Some hassle with shop keepers in bazaar opposite but most on site were fine.
The campus overall has a 5* rating, but this I feel was more for the facilities - the rooms were nice and very clean, but did not warrant a 5* rating - more of a 3-4*.
Beware when signing up for the health club facilities - check to see what other guests are paying and then haggle! Do not pay the book price!
Hotel fumigates the grounds for mossies every day which resulted in no bites at all - wonderful!
Hurghada still a developing resort with lots of building work on-going. Coral mostly dead in this area so beware if wishing to dive and snorkel - Sharm el Sheik was better for the water sports.
Would we return - definitely!

Great holiday and hotel, cannot fault hotel service.
Food was more towards Russian people and I would say only a handful of English, but for the week we were there it was very nice and after other Egyptian holidays, I found the beer and spirits great.
There was so many places on site including beach with bars with tea/beer and soft drinks.
Also bottled water was freely given everywhere and most bars you took as many bottles from the bar as you wanted.
Also food was on the beach with chips/burgers and pizza fresh from oven.
There was two big restaurants and service was great, you have to fetch your own drinks (again red/white wine and beer) but all you want, bar staff poured glasses out ready on top for you to help yourself.
Waiters were great and all could understand English.
Rooms were very good and had TV and a fridge with three bottles of pop and two water (all free no charge and restocked every day).
Three swimming pools one big pool heated 30 degrees and a boating lake, all free just help yourself, bikes and children’s motor cars free, and pool and beach beds and towels all no charge, all the holiday we hardly spent just a few tips.
Only draw backs, sea is manmade and though easy to go in, no steps, no good for snorkelling you need to go out into open sea or on a boat.
Entertainment was very bad and was really geared for children there was shows but all miming, this was only problem we had with hotel.
You vacate room at 12 noon but no charge if you want another 2 hours, also you can still use bars and get food.
Tips, just complain if you don’t get room you want or service, they just change and do everything to help you.
English money accepted everywhere.
Trips, we were only there for a week but plenty of trips on show and plenty of security nothing to worry about.

Overall a good value for money holiday. Hotel gets its five stars for amenities not necessarily comfort.
We are a family of five and had a two bed roomed apartment, with a lounge which was lovely and spacious but the beds were very very hard and uncomfortable.
We did complain and they did try to sort it but the replacement mattress was just as bad. Mini bar was stocked with soft drinks daily.
Plenty of sun beds despite the hotel being busy for Easter and the pool staff very helpful.
Although they were cooking for large numbers the food overall was good with plenty of choice and always tables available.
The beach is manmade and my sons were disappointed they couldn't make sandcastles but the heated pool soon made it OK.
Plenty to do in the evening - pool, mini golf etc.
Overall a good holiday to take the kids on.

We stayed from 23rd March - 30th. The hotel was brilliant, almost faultless. Staff were really friendly, room was cleaned every day, fridge topped up every day. The complex is huge, and was full to capacity when were were there, cleanliness was top class.
It’s true to say that the hotel is mainly full of German/Russian families but I didn’t see any problem with that. The food was fantastic, no end of choices unless you are a really fussy eater, food always hot, never any queue for it. We stayed mainly by the heated swimming pool area as we found the other pools too cold to swim in for this time of year, so if you’re going pre-summer, you may have to get up a little earlier than normal to secure a sun bed in this area as that is where most people headed for each morning.
We stayed in Sharm last Sept in the Hauza Beach Resort for 2 weeks. We thought that hotel was brilliant too, but I have to say the LTI Dana Beach was better in almost every aspect apart from 2 issues:-
1 - LTI is like a mini village, so you lose the intimacy of a smaller complex like the Hauza, therefore its difficult to get to meet new people and even to get to know the bar staff
2 - The Beach at Dana didn’t seem to have a lagoon or any snorkeling. At Hauza we had excellent snorkeling in 5ft of warm water and we also had a jetty that took you to the edge of a 100ft drop off where the snorkeling was amazing
In summary, the LTI is a superb hotel, and if you’re going away early season I would certainly advise you to stop here, but if you are planning a trip late summer/autumn when the sea water temps are higher, then I would go to Sharm and try to get a hotel with its own snorkeling availability.
My choices for next year would be the LTI for Jan - June holiday and the Hauza for Sep-Oct Holidays, reason being that I find the sea too cold in March so snorkeling and swimming isn’t a priority, however in September it certainly is near to the top of the list of priorities

It was a fantastic holiday. The food was amazing and everyone was so friendly and polite.
Room service is cool; they refill fridge everyday with drinks and make your room really tidy.
There were lots to do, we went quad biking in the desert and went to an Egyptian village where we also rode camels. We also went snorkelling which was the highlight of my holiday.
There were also so many other things that were offered to us to do e.g. scuba diving, massages, going to see the pyramids and many other things. These obviously come with a price but it’s definitely worth the money.
There were a lot of Germans there but there were a few English speaking families which we became friendly with.
The waiters and bar men make you feel very welcome, the ones we became most friendly with were, hamdi, aladin and mo, they were really funny and we are keeping in touch with them.
This is seriously a fantastic holiday, and we didn’t want to go home!

We have just returned from the Dana Beach Hotel and it is the best hotel we have ever stopped in.
On arrival at the airport we were told we had been upgraded to this hotel, we were meant to be stopping at the 4* 1001 Nights Hotel.
The hotel is wonderful, it is like its own little town, this is probably to encourage guests to stop inside the hotel complex, we would not advise that you go outside the hotel as you constantly get hassled by the locals to "come and look inside my shop!”
It is extremely clean, the staff work extremely hard and the cleaners are there from early in the morning till late on a night.
There are 3 pools, the one we used, the heated pool is lovely, very clean again, however a slight shortage on sun beds!
There are 2 restaurants which are included in the all inclusive basis and both are very good with plenty of choice and variation. Even though the food is mainly aimed at the Russian and eastern European guests, we never struggled to fill our plates!
All staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke wonderful English!
The entertainment was a bit lacking, but there are plenty of places to go and find somewhere to sit and have a drink to find someone to speak to.
We would definitely recommend this hotel, Hurghada and Egypt itself and would not hesitate in going back here in the future!

I and my husband have just come back from the Dana Beach in Hurghada.
We thought the complex was very nice, very clean and well presented. There were also lots to do during the day, but needed better entertainment at night.
The beach and pools were nice. The food was good and there was lots of choice.
We found the locals (Egyptians) rather annoying always hassling for money. But other than that we had a fantastic holiday.
It would have been better if we could of spoke German or Russian as we could have socialised more.
We were there from the 4th- 12th Jan 07. Dana Beach Resort was fantastic!

I really wanted to give the hotel 10/10 but having been to many 4/5* hotels in the past 5 years this was not quite up to par. It was our first trip (myself, wife and 16 year old daughter) to Egypt and our first impressions were favourable. Firstly the weather was amazing. Not a single cloud for 2 weeks and average temp of 37C.
Room: Very clean and amazingly spacious. Despite just being 3 in the room we had 2 bedrooms and a large separate living area complete with kitchen and balcony. The rooms were well maintained and the fridge received 3 bottles of mineral water and 3 soft drinks daily.
Food: 2 main buffet restaurants serving a good variety but definitely aimed at the largely German and Russian clients. There is food available at the beach but a little limited. The 3 other restaurants are available to clients of the hotel and you get a 50% discount from your food order. You pay full price for most drinks except beer and soft fizzy drinks.
Pool Area: I cannot fault this and was perfect. Plenty of free sun loungers and Parasols and even if you turned up at the pool at 10.30am there were still plenty left.
Beach: This is a bit of a disappointment as the "beach" is actually manmade and has been dug out from the coastline to create a very large bay. The sand was mainly shingle and quite a deep slope once in the sea. This is a pity as the Real Sea is not far away and I don't understand why the hotel has chosen to loose the beautiful natural coastline to create the bay.
Entertainment: Enough to do during the day both water based and land based but the evening "shows" were diabolical. Only the animation team perform these so called shows and they are truly awful. I am surprised considering the size of the hotel there was no professional entertainers hired in to add a bit of variety or culture. My idea of entertainment is not a poorly staged copy of "Joseph" sung in German.
Be aware if you are British as you will be charged more for trips etc. However the snorkelling trip which leaves from the hotels own pier is exceptional value at 35 euros. A trip to Luxor is a must. We paid £48 for a full day each but met people from other hotels who paid $25.
The staff are very friendly and a small tip (10 Egyptian pounds)(£1) is enough for the waiters and bar staff every couple of days.
A taxi to Hurghada itself should cost no more than 50/60 Egyptian pounds so be prepared to argue and agree a price before sitting inside. Also be prepared to haggle for everything in the outside shops. As a rule of thumb you should pay only 25% to 40% of the starting price. If you are really good just stick to your opening offer and be prepared to walk away. You will get it at the price you want to pay.
Overall the Dana beach is good value and a great place to relax and chill out. It is run by a German company thus the emphasis on German language. The staff however all speak English and you will be made to feel very welcome as the British are a rare breed here.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this wonderful hotel. We were recommended by our friends and to be honest, everything they told us was spot on.
The staff at reception were very friendly, the man who took us to our room charming, and from then on, all the staff were exceptionally polite and courteous, even the men doing to gardening.
Our room was beautiful and clean, and the bathroom - well we could have held a disco in there, the size was brilliant. The fridge was stocked daily, the man whose job it was asked us what we would like in it, then daily our favourites would appear. Our room was nearer to the beach and away from the evening entertainment which was great, you didn't get any noise later when people were returning to their rooms.
The grounds were kept so clean and tidy, staff were continuously sweeping down the highly polished marble floors, we felt guilty walking across them.
The animation team were so friendly, I wasn't too sure to begin with as they seemed to home in on the eastern European visitors, but once they realised we were English, they wanted to practice their English - they don’t get much change as a lack of English visitors.
We were pestered on the beach for beauty treatments and trips, but soon realised if we made out we were asleep they carried on walking. We did 2 trips (booked through the rep) snorkeling (highly recommended - even if you don’t like snorkeling you can stay on board and sunbath or just swim in the sea). We also did the safari - quad bikes, go karts, wind sailing, camels and jeeps into the mountains. The whole day was a laugh and well worth £35 each which included a BBQ and entertainment.
Overall we both loved Egypt and despite a slight upset stomach would return, especially to this hotel.
P.s. they seem to love English pounds or euros - so wouldn’t take too many Egyptian pounds.

Absolutely fantastic. The best value for money ever, we have just got back from Dana Beach and after reading some of the reviews we were a bit dubious. However we were delighted from the minute we got there.
The whole resort is spotlessly clean, the staff can’t do enough for you. My partner and I traveled with our little boy (aged 6).We found plenty to do night and day. We were highly impressed with the food which offered a great choice at every meal plus all the snacks that were available throughout the day. Every day the fridge in the room was freshly stocked with water and soft drinks.
We were in the minority nationality wise, most of the other guests were German, Russian and French. We did not find this a problem as it did create a bit of camaraderie amongst the Brits.
You could easily spend 2 weeks there without spending any money if you didn’t want too. However we did spend some on beauty treatments, well worth the money for a 2.5 hour treatment of sauna, steam, body peel and full body massage. Plus the quad biking/camel ride trip. All in all it was a fabulous holiday at a great price. We will definitely go back.

After last year’s delightful holiday in Sharks Bay Sharm, we decided to give Hurghada a go. Once again we found it extremely cheap and choose our hotel by the comments on this site. The Dana Beach is a very welcoming resort. I say resort as it is huge compared to Sharks and because it is so large you can lose yourself within the complex and either get involved in the activities ( which was a bit over the top in Sharm ) or just chill out at one of the many pools or beach.
If you like snorkelling, this is not for you as all the coral is dead, but you could go on one of the many excursions. Once again it was 60% Russian. 30% German, but they were all quite pleasant but no one really mixed.
Not too much to do in the evening, they have a Piano Bar, which is like an airport waiting lounge, a Sports / Entertainment bar which was always empty and a small bar called Alexander which was okay for a late one, although on occasions the well oiled Germans were banging out their versions of Roll Out the Barrell !
Last year we took a flight to Luxor for a day’s sightseeing, this year we went north to Cairo which was a similar price of £145. We were with 5 other English couples and it was an amazing day. We took in the Mohammed Ali Temple, then onto the vast Cairo Museum, a spot of lunch (when the group bonded over a few chilled ones) and then into the desert for the amazing Pyramids and Sphinx! We did have a 2 hour delay on the flight back, but it had been a very good day, so it was okay! The staff were very friendly and yes, they do prefer the British to the other Nationalities mainly because they like to practice their English and also they find us more approachable and mannerly.
It was a very good break and I would recommend the resort and Hotel, although I feel that I have now seen there is all to see in Egypt, but if I had the choice on Sharm or Hurghada, I would just edge towards Sharm El Sheikh !
