Stayed for 3 weeks, got married in Dubai, and had our reception at the Royal Mirage.
On arrival at 1am we were greeted with hot and cold drinks, cakes, biscuits etc and were given cold scented towels to refresh ourselves.
Our room and bathroom were liberally sprinkled with red rose petals and the room was full of fresh flowers and bowls of fresh fruit which were refreshed daily.
Our wedding reception was incredible, 25 guests and we had 25 staff looking after our every need including a manager who got colouring books for the 3 kids and sat on the floor with them.
The staff are quiet, discreet but always close by to attend to anything you may need, be it Earl Grey tea and strawberry tarts at 5pm, or just to order a newspaper.
Where else do you get served glasses of ice cold water by the pool, and be given small plates of fresh fruit and get your sunglasses cleaned while you soak up the sun’s rays round one of the pools.
The beach was brushed daily and the slightest bit of litter was removed almost instantly, the restaurants catered to every taste from Moroccan to Italian, from Arab to European, steaks, seafood, salads and Japanese cuisine are all available in any of the many restaurants throughout the hotel grounds. A fleet of Mercedes limos will whisk you from and to any part of the hotel grounds if you do not feel like walking.
From the room boys to the managers everyone is available to do whatever they can to make your stay memorable.
Would we go back ? It’s already booked !

My husband and I were treated by our daughter and son-in-law to a wonderful stay at the One & Only Royal Mirage for 8 days. This was absolute luxury - we had a holiday of a lifetime and would recommend it to anyone who feels they deserve a lot of pampering as this is certainly the place for that. The staff the food the suite everything was just superb and the staff were extremely helpful and always had a friendly smile. The service was beyond words. All the restaurants were super - it was difficult to decide each night which one to go to - such an excellent choice the food was absolutely marvellous in each of them. This is most definitely a 5 Star Plus.

An absolutely fabulous holiday - we stayed at the Royal Mirage Palace which is in a spectacular spot on Jumeriah beach. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them to sort out.
The hotel is peaceful and relaxing set in gorgeous grounds with palm trees and fountains everywhere. We stayed in February which is an ideal time for Dubai the weather was perfect not too hot with a cooling breeze. We ate at several restaurants within the one and only resorts and every one of them was exceptional value for money and of high quality.
The hotel does cater for children - with a small playground and games set up on the lawned areas but if anything the resort is mainly for couples wanting a quiet time.
Easy access to all areas of Dubai - definitely check out the Medina Souk 5 minutes down the road and a must for any trip to Dubai is the desert Safari and excellent trip with a fabulous sunset barbeque to end the night.

We have just returned from a...

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday to Dubai, staying at The Royal Mirage. What can I say? WOW! This hotel is absolutely beautiful.
It is built on an Arabian theme. It has three parts to it. The Palace, The Arabian Court (which we stayed in) and The Residence and Spa. You can use all the restaurants and facilities of the other parts although guests staying at the residence and spa get priority at their own restaurant. When we arrived by private transfer, we were greeted by a very courteous gentleman who opened the car door for us and welcomed us with a lovely smile.
We were then taken into the hotel where a large gong was hit to let the staff know that new guests had arrived. We were then taken to a large seating area where we were given cold cloths and drinks while we were checked in. Everything around us was absolutely beautiful. From the large chandeliers to all the marble and plush upholstery, it certainly oozed sophistication. The room was just as beautiful. It too was designed in an Arabian theme and the bathroom was adorned with ornaments and carvings set in little alcoves.
As for the shower. We could have got 4 people into the shower! We had a balcony overlooking the manicured gardens and ahead of them we could see the pool and the Arabian Gulf. We had a large mahogany cabinet, which opened up to reveal a large TV/Video, a stocked fridge and mini bar. We then decided to check out the resort. It was huge. There were lots of walkways with fountains and exotic flowers and shrubs. It was so relaxing just walking around these beautiful grounds.
We decided to go to the pool. You are given a ticket with your name and room number, which you take to the pool cabana and the guy there takes the towels for you and asks where you would like to sit. He then takes you over to your chosen sun loungers (padded I must add, with an umbrella for shade if you prefer that), he then lays the towels on them for you. Staff constantly walk around the pool with jugs of ice-cold water for you and they also come around a few times with cold cloths and melon. At around 1pm they come around to clean your sun glasses for you too!
The pool area is so peaceful and there are restaurants around the pool areas too if you want either a snack or a meal. Waiters are there too if you want any drinks brought to your sun lounger. The private beach is next to the pool and there is a waiter on the beach with the same service as around the pool. The beach is just as you would expect- turquoise sea and white sand. The beach too has sun loungers with umbrellas and is just as if you were on your own private beach. We went for a walk along it and there were only about 3 other couples there on the whole beach.
The restaurants were first class. There were 4 at The Arabian Court 1 at Residence & Spa and around 4 or 5 at The Palace. They catered for every type of palate, from buffets to first class a-la-carte dining. You could walk from one part to the other but if that felt like too much hard work after all that lazing around and being pampered then there were shuttles, which would ferry you around the resort.
One bar I would recommend a must see is The Rooftop Bar. It is on the rooftop and again is built in an Arabian theme. It has cushions everywhere and candles and lamps and the view over Dubai is amazing. It is so relaxing having a drink there with the night sky and stars as you’re ceiling.
The staff are so friendly. They never stop smiling from the room maids to the management. They cannot do enough for you and you know it is genuine. They always take time to chat and always look so happy at their work. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you don’t want it too busy. Although the hotel was almost at full capacity, it never felt crowded. We did not want to come home. I miss the bed being turned down in the evening. I miss the rose petals scattered over our bed at night and the little sweets that were left on our pillow.
I certainly could get used to living like that. Ah! If only!! It’s what dreams are made of.

Wow!
We had a great holiday in this hotel and I would certainly recommend it for a family holiday. Great rooms, great service, lovely grounds, superb pool and all the restaurants were very good.
The resort also has tennis courts and a private beach. All the rooms have large balconies overlooking the Gulf. We would agree with the comments made in the previous review and we will definitely be returning here.
There is a lot of building work taking place across Dubai and we could see the construction of the Palm from the balcony of the hotel but it was not a problem.

The Palace at the Royal Mirage is a luxury resort 5 star hotel. There are 2 other hotels in the resort, The Residence and The Arabian Court.
The Palace has an amazing swimming pool, 4 different restaurants and you can use the facilities at the other two hotels as well.
The complex is in one of the well established "finished" parts of Jumeriah beach about 30 minutes by taxi from both the city centre and the airport.
There is a lot of building work all over Dubai so we were lucky to be away from the scaffolding and constant noise, apart from a faint hum of machinery building the new Palm Island resort about a mile offshore.
Dubai is constantly changing and we will definitely return in the future to experience the first class hotels, the endless shopping, the very hot weather - 40 degrees at the end of September and the new attractions that are planned over the next few years. There are plenty of excursions with the sun downer desert adventure our highlight.
People are very friendly wherever you go, transport by taxi is efficient and very cheap. Dubai feels very safe with no concerns about crime. There are restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, my wife described Dubai as the most Veggie friendly city she has ever visited.
Give Dubai a try either for a short break on the way to the Far East or Australasia or as a full holiday. A week is not enough!!
