We had a wonderful time at the Marina Pax hotel, our two grandkids aged 11 and 8 loved it. The food was good, sausages just like home. Handy for the beach and theme parks only 10 minute walk away.

Good Hotel
After 10 phone calls and months of trouble booking with Barrhead Travel (countless errors on booking forms, and who i will now not use again), we had a lovely family holiday at the Pax. There were 4 adults and 2 children, ages 59,58,35,30,13 & 9 (two rooms). I found the Pax to be that of what i read in previous reviews. The rooms were modern, spotless and very spacious. Beautiful views from both balconys. The food was great, a little repeatative, but that was maybe because instead of choosing one meal per night, we were having a little taste of everything on our plate as there was just so much on offer! The hotel is about 2 mins from beach and 5 mins from main resort. It is situated on a hill so could be tricky for anyone with walking difficulties. The pools were very cold but nicely sized and clean, there was however a muddy smelly drain with muddy water overflowing the whole week we were there and no one seemed to bother about it! The pool toilet was spotless, the cleanest ive ever seen in fact! Only moan i did have about the pools was that although there was a blatant sign warning against keeping sunbeds, there were still your individuals down at the pool at 8am to put towels on the same 9 beds each day (it was all the one family may i add), even when they werent going to sit there for most of the day, which i thought was very selfish, but you get these people everywhere i suppose! The entertainment went from great one night to okay the next. They had a Four Tops cover group on one night named the majestics who were very good and entertained young and old. The children entertainers did very well encouraging the young and old to take part in the various games during the day and night and also putting on their own wee show at night. Big applause and thanx to Will (bingo bongo) and Sally for their endless entertainment and hard work. Would also like to add a special recommendation and thanx to all the other friendly and welcoming staff at the Pax, especially the meals/kitchen staff, Manolo and Florentino etc who endlessly cleared plates with a smile, and the friendly bar staff who always served you with a smile no matter what time of day it was! Also the men on reception, well done. My family and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pax, but are unfortunately hesitant that we would visit again down to two things - 1. Young people (late teens and 20's) staying on our landing, two nights in a row we were wakened by noise at 4am, 5am, and 6am from them returning from nights out. - No good when you have children, and things to do the next day. 2. Because on arrival you can be sent to either the Marina Pax or Marina Barracuda next door - to be honest i like to know exactly where i will be staying when holidaying, as i dont think its worth taking the chance after saving up all year to go, and for the family to be disappointed. So come on Marina Pax - ensure us we can stay there and wont be shifted to the Barracuda and we will return. Also keep the hotel to families and couples only and it would keep your reputation up. It would be much better all round if you would leave the stags and hens to go to better suited accommodation where they can party all night without ruining others' holidays.
Great Value For Money!
The hotel was absolutely spotless with maids working ALL through the day. Food on the whole was good, but did become reptetive by 4th day. Drinks- local beer was fine, soft drinks all the real deal offering proper Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite ect. Rooms very basic but clean. Entertainment OK the team do try very hard to keep you entertained through day and night - offering day time activities ( eg table tennis) and night time shows (ie parrot show, Karaoke, Quiz's etc) My partner and I (aged 20 and 23) would stay at this hotel again, if it was only in a different location. PR's touting for business in town really do get on your nerves after the 3rd night. We were constantly bombarded by PR's when all we wanted to do on our first night is look around. (but hey it is their job!) If you are looking for a cheap, value for money get-a-way then this is definately for you. The places worth a visit in Magaluf is the dinner show Pirates, Marine Land - with great dolphin, sealion and parrot shows on offer and a cruise (if you can stomach it!)
read this before you book
My husband and I and our two teenage sons booked this holiday with Barrhead Travel in March. We arrived at the Pax, after travelling for over ten hours, to find that we and many others were being sent to the Barricuda. We complained and showed our booking documentation which clearly showed the Pax. However, we were informed that the Pax and the Barricuda are now a "resort" and you cannot choose which to be put into. We booked the Pax after reading all the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and were apprehensive about the Barricuda, but we had no choice as Barrhead have no reps....my review of our holiday is under the Barricuda- as you will see I was right to be worried!!
loved this hotel
just returned from marina pax hotel and really loved it. the food is brilliant , theres something for everyone and the restaurant is clean and friendly waiters clearing away all the time so no used dirty tables. The pool area is manned with a lifeguard all day and no need to put your towels out early, theres enough sunbeds not to worry, youll easy get one. The rooms are basic but very clean and the rooms with 3 or 4 beds are spacious not cramped. The entertainment on a night does leave a bit to be desired but still ok. the staff in the hotel are all very friendly and we can highly recommend this hotel to anyone. this is the second time i have stayed in a marina hotel chain and was not disappointed both times. i would check out booking direct with the hotel we found it cheaper this way.
What do you expect?
I thouroughly enjoyed mydelf here. Stayed with my parents (45 & 47) and my boyfriend (30). Being 18 i still enjoy the nightlife and suprisingly so did my parents!!!!! There are more good than bad points: * The hotel room (Double) seemed it was meant to be for a single. I mentioned this and was moved immediately to a bigger room * The food was nice unless you went overboard and ate a bit of everything every day!!!!! * The main pool was full of children which is to be expected at the time of year. * We went to the shared pool around the back and sat beside the bar man. couldn't fault it! * The only problem with this hotel was the people using it. There was too much of a turnover for you to really get to meet/know other people. i.e. Stag and Hen partys for the weekend. Really enjoyed this. The only thing i would say is if you don't speak much English it is not for you as the entertainment is very english orientated and child friendly. Older people may not enjoy it through peak seasons but this is great value for money!
Would definately reccommend this hotel
Just back from a week at this hotel 4 adults (2 x 50 year olds and 35 & 26) we all enjoyed our stay here. Hotel spotless, food excellent, staff friendly were very helpful when asked anything. Hotel towards westend of resort but only 5 minute walk into the hustle and bustle of main drag. Lots of little shops and bars just next door. There were quite a few groups when we were there (golfers, stag parties) but they were no trouble were all very well behaved round the pool and never heard any noise at night time. Enternainment was also good something different each night. Would also recommend the pirates show which we were near enough to, to walk. Would go back without hesitation.
Party Lovers hotel!!
Me and my boyfriend (18yrs and 20yrs) stayed at this hotel last October and enjoyed every minute of it. Food was gorgeous, staff were really friendly, rooms were tidy and modern, and we had a great pool and sea view from our balcony. Loads of choice of cocktails and drinks. Only thing that was disappointing is you have to pay 30 euro for a safety deposit box when you can usually put a deposit down and get it back in most hotels. It is situated about 5 mins away from the mains strip and is about a one minute walk down to the beach. Make sure you check out BCM - especially when they have foam parties. Boomarang is also a great nightclub! Food and drinks were good prices - although we were all inclusive I would go self catering next time coz there is so much choice and you don't want to limit yourself to the hotel. The weather in October was OK - we had 4 days of rain, 5 days of hot sunshine within 2 weeks and most other days were overcast. If anyone is thinking of going to the Pax in Magalluf, don't think about it - book it! (Just make sure it is in the peak season too!)
great for all ages
Just returned from Marina Pax and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. as my husband and I are nearly 70 yrs old, we travelled with our daughter who is 40 yrs and our grandson who is 13yrs. The hotel catered for all our varying ages and we all had a super time. The food was 1st class and my husband made quite a pig of himself with the seafood evening especially the king prawns! anyway with such a varied menu no-one could leave the dining-room hungry. I for one went home just a bit heavier than I came with the convienience of tea making facilities in the room. (just the thing for a quick cuppa) Would return again !
couldn't fault it
What a dream. Couldn't have wished for a better holiday.Ideal for all ages.We were group of 9 with 4 adults and 5 children.Food excellent and varied, hotel spotless, staff very friendly and helpful and drink well can't remember that!! Looking to book again for next year and we have never been back to the same place twice.

Entertainment at night was good, staff freindly, especially reception and snack bar staff
