" holiday to mexico gran bahie principe "

It was my 2nd time at the resort, although stayed in Akumal for 2 days, although I cannot fault it, I still prefer Tulum, this is where all the excitement happens, the hotel is just superb, good food, large variety at the buffet, the a la carte is top class, great beach and pool so clean, and the mexican people and staff are just so warm and friendly. I definetly will go again to the same hotel.

Advice: strongly recommend it

Activities: Don Pablo and Harlequin also la playa del carmel have some very good sea food restaurants

Good for: Beach

" Mexico Holiday "

I have just arrived back today from a 2 week holiday in Mexico. The flight there was just over 9 hours, the in-flight entertainment was good, good choice of films and programmes to watch. When we arrived at the airport we were directed to our bus which took us to our resort which is about an hour and a half outside of Cancun. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable. The hotel we were staying at was very nice, the rooms were nice, however I did expect a little more as it was 5 star as I have stayed in similar apparments which were 3 star. The resort is well laid out and there is plently of bars and eating areas. The resort is situated on the beach which is great and all the pools are clean and the areas around them tidy. The gourmet restaurants which you have the reserve are also good and the buffet has a wide variety of food. There is also a market at the entrance to the complex which sells everything you could need and there is buses avalible regularly to take you here and also to the other areas of the resort.I enjoyed my stay here and would go back.

Advice: Nice place not much to see outside of the resort

Good for: Beach

" Having just returned from our 3rd two... "

Having just returned from our 3rd two week visit to the same resort we can honestly say it is still the best to offer for a family. Our children are 9 and 13 and as a whole found the resort fantastic. We found it easier to use a taxi from the airport rather than the bus. We e-mailed the hotel and requested same room as per our previous visit and they obliged.

We will be going back again next year as it is a gaurenteed fantastic holiday. Club Golden at the Coba is the better of the three hotels in the complex on offer.

Enjoy

" We went the Grand Bahia Principe in... "

We went the Grand Bahia Principe in Riviera Maya in June 2007 for our Honeymoon.

The Grand Bahia Principe is in fact a huge resort made up of 3 hotels - the Akumal, the Tulum, and the Coba. When booking we had expected to stay in the Tulum. However when arriving we were allocated to the Coba. This turned out to be much better as this Hotel was the newest addition and also the biggest.

We were upgraded to a Junior Suite over looking over one of the many pools.

The room was amazing - very spacious with a separate bathroom/shower room. Also a separate seating area which led out to the balcony.

The apartment blocks are all 3 storey's high but they don't have lifts so if you are unable to get up stairs, ask for a lower level. We were on the third floor. Rooms are cleaned every day, mini-bars restocked every day, and towels changed every day. Bed was re-made every day although sheets changed every few days.

The Resort itself was very relaxing. You could spend the whole holiday not speaking to anyone if you prefer. It provided lots of activities during the day particularly one of the main pools. Could be very loud. There are also quieter pools to go to.

The breakfast buffet was superb. The choices were extensive and although the same foods were served everyday - there was so much to choose from. Buffet lunch was also served although the snack bars beside the pool served food also.

Buffet dinner was excellent. You are given the option of going a la carte 3 times a week.

Only downfall is that depending on which Hotel you are, depends on which restaurants you can use. The Steak House was fab but you can only use it if you stay in the Tulum/Akumal. There was a mistake with one of our bookings so we did in fact get to eat there.

Small buses are available to take you between Hotels - you can eat in any one of them for the buffet. There are only a couple of minutes apart.

Bus service down to the beach also. It was spotless. Although very busy there were lots of sunbeds available.

There was entertainment on every night which was very good although if you are there for 2 weeks the same shows are done again in your second week!

Nothing we can really fault the Resort for. We went in June and its Summer Break in America so lots of Americans came to stay. But as the Resort is so big, it was still very peaceful.

The transfer to Grand Bahia is nearly 2 hours but don’t let that put you off - it really is an amazing place.

We will go back.

" Holiday of a lifetime!

Holiday of a lifetime!

First time in Mexico, stayed at Gran Bahia Principe at Akumal Hotel and it’s definitely the best place I have ever visited! Food is great, so much choice and A la Carte restaurants are pure heaven!

Pools and activities great, room service excellent, mini bar and Jacuzzi bath! Totally lush! The staff are so friendly and helpful and are sure to put a smile on your face!

Weather gorgeous, warm towels even provided around the pool. Two seconds from the beach! 24 all inclusive.

Trips to go on are great - especially Xel-Ha and swimming with dolphins...an unforgettable experience!!

Overall I simply cannot fault the hotel/staff/resort whatsoever. Had an absolutely fabulous holiday and I’m now already looking at the brochure for my next visit there!

" The resort is great. Great... "

The resort is great. Great facilities, great beaches, the staff are extremely nice and efficient. 5 stars.

The outside activities are great. You can go snorkelling at Xel-Ha or at Xcareth. You can go swim in the reef (the 2º largest in the world). You can go ride some 4x4 through the ‘mangale’ and eat in a typical Mexican village.

It’s superb.
