Oasis Mango Apartments Reviews
" We booked this short break based on... "
Submitted By: Mr R GarnerThe reports stated that the apartments were a good walk away from the main centre but were fantastic and the service was great.
We did find the walk to be about 20/25mins from the centre of resort and all uphill. If you don’t have any mobility problems then the walk isn’t an issue and can be a great walk home after a night out.
The apartments are very clean and spacious. The pool area is clean well maintained with plenty of room and beds for sunbathing.
The staff are extremely helpful. The first night we had cause to complain about the noise from the fridge and a poor shower system. Both were changed before the end of the day. Very good service.
The general manager of the hotel was a great source of local information and was really into making sure that we had a great time and made the most of our short stay.
If you are ok with a 20 minute walk this is a great place to stay.

Submitted By: Mrs K McCallumThe apartments are very big, there was only my partner and I in a 1 bedroomed which had a great size bedroom and extremely large kitchen/lounge. The apartments were spotless, and I am a bit of a clean freak so for me to say this is saying something. The room was cleaned everyday bar 2 and we were there for 12 days. Clean towels and teatowels every time. The only downside is there is no air-con, however this isn't a negative for the complex as it seems to be the norm for the resort/island.
The whole complex is spotless including the pool area. If you happen to be an early riser you will see the army of people cleaning and spraying everything in site, they really should be proud of the presentation. No cockroaches in sight at this place!
The pool area has a bar/restaurant, as we went off peak season there wasn't anything going on in the evenings so cannot comment on any entertainment. During the day the pool bar serves fresh and tasty food at decent prices, service excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The pool always has a life guard who is very friendly and personable.
The supermarket on site is ok a bit expensive, my partner found the woman in here a bit miserable. I would suggest the short walk down the hill to the spar which sell anything you will need at good prices as is open to 9pm every night.
If you go down the hill (across 2 roundabouts) you will come across the spar and then a row of bars/shops. I would recommend the following two places for very different reasons:
Taylors Lounge Bar - my partner loved it here, they show most football/sports and the food is good pub grub. Breakfasts very good and they provide free papers for reading. I also felt comfortable there so its not just a lads place. The beer is priced ok and the waitresses wear hotpants!!
Toro Tapas - this place is just fantastic! I am a tapas lover and they have this on the menu, but also the meat/chicken dishes are absolutely excellent, the sort of food you would pay £50 per head for in the UK. If you appreciate good food and wine, then this is a nice treat. We had starters, main, pudding and a bottle of Roija and my partner had brandy, the bill was less than €50!! Superb service as well, the only place that makes you feel like you are in a spanish country.
Also, try the Oriental Kitchen (turn right at 2nd roundabout coming down the hill) its stuck in a corner on your right next to a bar but you'll find it). The food is outstanding and surroundings very sumptuous. There are many chinese restaurants in Los Cristianos but you get what you pay for, I would stay well clear of the buffet places - dodgy!!
Sunday market good fun.
I would recommend renting a car from the travel agent near the Spar, it only cost €34 for 24 hours and we went all around the island. I would highly recommend Puerto Dal a Cruz - beautiful.
We had a great time and would recommend these apartments to anyone.

Submitted By: Miss N L MumfordI had my reservations about Tenerife but I can honestly say I had a wonderful time. The apartments are lovely, very clean & spacious with good views from the balcony. The maids and staff are very helpful and also there if you need anything.
The pool is really nice and with a life guard on duty every day it is very safe for families. There is a pool bar that serves good food and a shop in the complex that stocks everything you may need.
Oasis mango is in a good location and only costs around 5-6Euros in a taxi to the centre of Los Cristianos.
I would definitely recommend Oasis mango as a place to stay if you are planning on coming to Tenerife; If I do come again (which I hope so) I would come back to Oasis Mango without a doubt.

Submitted By: Mrs Lorraine DelvesAll apts had a microwave kettle coffee maker, fridge, and toaster. The shop was well stocked and not too expensive.
The staff were lovely. Taxis to the beach cost 3euros to las America’s 5euros.the reception ordered your taxis and they were there within a couple of minutes.
The food in the restaurant was lovely and not too expensive.
All in all I had no complaints at all I would definitely go again.

Submitted By: Mrs K PhippenAs before the apartment was immaculate and was cleaned everyday but one, leaving fresh towels, the maid was lovely, the only snag was there were no sharp knives to cut food up, so I just refused to cook and had to eat out!
The staff were fantastic; Samuel on reception was very helpful, all reception staff spoke very good English as my Spanish limited.
The pool area very clean, and main pool split into 2 so that toddlers can swim these are heated, the baby pool is not and my 2yr old got a bit of a shock. The life guard was great he played with the kids and was very friendly.
I did struggle with the hill and steps up to apartment being 6 months pregnant , but Taxis up to oasis mango from bottom is only 3 Euros so only had steps to tackle.
Evening entertainment at Oasis Mango was a little disappointing a magic show was advertised which did not occur which upset my 6yr old, and a parrot show but that didn’t come on till 22:30 much too late for little ones.
Had a great day out at Jungle park only 10 min free bus away and went out on boat trip and saw at least 20 dolphins and a whale ( haggle on the price of boat trip got a great deal).
The beaches were very clean the better of the 2 are further on through a tunnel. Food in the town can be a drag all seems to be served with chips or Canarian potato (salted jackets) apart from on the last night, found a lovely Spanish restaurant in one of back streets.Taylors on cardiac hill served up some great food and there is a lovely Italian next door.
If you do want to cook the spar half way down hill is great has everything you need (apart from sharp knives!), we will go back again when kids are older.

Submitted By: Mr S HolmesThe walk was not too bad, up the hill with amenities close to hand.
All the staff were friendly and the pool area was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed holiday.
I have stayed several times on the island but the Oasis Mango apartments would take a lot of beating.
Food was always served fresh and the drinks cool.
The laundry and cleaning of rooms was also excellent, which added to the quality of our stay.
I would recommend the apartments to any body without question.

Submitted By: Mr DJ ArmstrongAnyway the apartment was lovely with a fantastic view, the staff and rep-Steve were fantastic (we would like to thank Steve for the help he gave us from the Ashtons) and the restaurant and mini supermarket staff were very helpful and fantastic service and food in the restaurant.
Los Christianos is lovely, parts of it are building sites but that doesn’t take away the amazing scenery of the volcanoes and hills and other hotels and apartments, too many street sellers when you go out anywhere in and surrounding Los Christianos and Americas, they get on your nerves after a while of saying you don’t want to buy anything.
All the locals were very friendly and generally spoke English which made it easier for us lazy Brits, the local restaurants served fantastic food and I loved the local beers. We went to the Aqua-Park in adeje which was great although the two main rides were closed all day, which made me think the admission was a rip-off but the dolphin show and museum were fantastic which made up for the price a bit, we also went on FreeBirdOne the catamaran to see whales and dolphins in there natural habitat, 55euros to be on the boat for 3 hours, in blistering sunshine, seeing whales and dolphins and on board free drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks) and a food buffet which was excellent and a complimentary glass of champagne at the end of the trip.
It was well well worth the 55euros, definitely a special experience and the staff in charge of the boat were excellent and made the trip what it was. I’d definitely recommend this trip! We went out clubbing one night because the fiancé insisted and we ended up in Veronicas (not sure if that’s how it’s spelt!) anyway we were having a good night until we got into the club which neither of us can remember the name of (which is useful) but we had these local lads annoying us for an hour or so and from the events after we left the club we realised that we had both definitely had our drinks spiked.
We hadn’t had much to drink and we had been out for a meal but we spent the next 48hour in a bad way and basically I am saying Tenerife great night life but I wouldn’t rush out clubbing there again. The only part of the holiday I didn’t enjoy that much was the flight.
A few years ago I had a punctured lung and was in a lot of breathing pain, anyway the cut in my lung healed but the pressure in the cabin (plane) really put me in a lot of discomfort, it’s horrible when you cant breath but I got through the flight there and back unharmed, I think. All in all we have had a fantastic time and we owe it to Thomas Cook, Oasis Mango Apartments, Los Christianos and the crew on the FreebirdOne vessel. Thanks Dan and Bev

Submitted By: Miss Rebecca ClearyOasis Mango is an absolutely brilliant hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The restaurant was tasty and throughout the day you can go and get snacks and drinks from the pool bar.
The market inside the restaurant sells all the things you need eg: ice lollies for everyone.
The staff were very kind and helpful. I wouldn’t say that Cardiac Hill is very high but if you got tired at night especially with children, there are plenty of taxis about.
The temperature was definitely not what I expected (in a good way) and the highest was 30 degrees, definitely gorgeous weather for the pools.
The pools were very clean and warm. I especially loved them.
When I and my family arrived at Oasis Mango, I had a feeling that I was going to enjoy it and when we were leaving I so badly wanted to stay.

Submitted By: Mrs T CThe only entertainment was a tiny pool, and a playground which consists of two swings and a slide. The entertainment was not very good either. This consisted of a male singer - who sang a variety of Rock/Country Ballard’s?
This was fine if you suffer from amnesia and couldn't remember the previous night’s songs. No change to them for the whole ten days...very, very boring.
I'm afraid our entertainment was laughing at this poor, poor man who had no variety and forgot or did not know several lines to some songs so tried to bluff it by making out he was laughing at the audience.
You got wise to this after several days- the most people that were there watching at once was no more than 10, and they disappeared very quick.
The lady in the market was very abrupt and rude. We were going to try the restaurant, as this looked very nice, but then we saw the prices.
However on a slightly more positive note, the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The apartments were clean and fresh towels everyday minus 1. (We were there for 10 days). We didn't have a kettle though so the water had to be boiled in the microwave or on the hob. Did have a coffee maker though!
We knew it was up a steep long hill, so we were prepared for this and taxis up from the beach are cheap, cheap, and cheap!
I would only recommend Oasis Mango to groups of younger people who are only after a base for sleeping, or more mature people that do not mind the hill.
There are also lots of steps. Bummer with the buggy! Up and down, up and down...nightmare!
Def. not a place for young kids...sorry guys!
We have been to Tenerife 4 times now. Every time someone has had stomach upsets, despite doing the 'not eating salad' 'not drinking tap water' etc. 7 yr old quite ill for the first few days. Tummy ache etc. Last day again.
We went with Thomas Cook and tried to move - not very helpful, but that's another story. The airline crew though were fantastic.
Went to Cuba last year where maybe you would maybe expect a bug or two, nothing. So next time long haul...here we come!
I really don't like to moan and this is the first time that I have put my comments forward.
Unhappy mum of 5.

Submitted By: Mr CulsonVery clean and spacious apartments that were well maintained. Didn’t know what to expect as I booked the apartment 1 hour before I left for airport, but as soon as we got there we knew that we were going to have a great time as this was no ordinary apartment.
I will say if you are or accompanied by someone with walking difficulties then due to the fact that you’re up what the locals call "cardiac hill" and the amount of steps to get to your room, then this will not be the place for you. I am 28 years old and I go to the gym 5 nights a week but even I found pushing a pram up that hill was a challenge and a half.
The pool is kept very clean and they do great food in the restaurant downstairs. The kids play area does only involve a swing and a slide but we made our own fun and had a superb time.
I am going back to Tenerife in February and will definitely be booking this hotel again. Can I just say a big thank you to all that worked on reception as they booked all our excursions and taxis for us when they could have clearly told us where to go!!

Submitted By: Mr J WattersSpeaking of cleaning, they were thorough and frequent, nothing left to another day. Everything on site, including a fairly comprehensively stocked supermarket. Reception were very helpful and did all they could with pleasant smiles and good English if needed.
The only negative is the distance from the Town centre, but if fit, not too bad. but those with walking difficulties will struggle as it is near the top of a quite steep hill , tiring if hot weather. So we would heartily recommend a car, which are quite cheap and plentiful. The only problem is, reception recommended Classic Car Hire even with a big Avis sign outside. I would not use them again, the car I requested a Fiat Punto 5 door with air conditioning, became a Fiat Punto 3 door with no a/c terrible interior, no rear wiper, multiple dents and grating brakes.
So try someone else, there are plenty.
Again Great place and great staff..go and enjoy, we did. <br>

The apartments were very large and accommodating, superb quality. However, on the down side the maids took 3 days before they changed the towels and cleaned. The pool was rather small with the usual problem of sun bed hogging by people leaving their towels overnight, which we were informed, would be monitored but was obviously not. Extremely irritating! Overall excellent place to stay in and would strongly recommend it to anyone apart from young groups.
The resort was full of lovely restaurants, again the waiters and bar staff very friendly and chatty. The main area of Los Cristianos San Telmo was too quiet in the time we went and found most of the bars/discos empty. Thus, we had to resort to going to Playa De Las Americas for the nightlife, which we found the people there to be absolutely rancid! However, there is a great Irish bar opposite Linekers with an Irish band that we visited virtually every night.
Lastly, would like to mention the fabulous beach in Playa De Las Vista.
Super fantastic holiday for 8 girls aged 26-30 years looking for quiet days on the beach or pool and a varied nightlife!

The rooms were very big and cleaned 5 days out of 7 clean towels and tea towels also provided every day it was cleaned. Every morning we got up to go to the pool the cleaners were always there making sure the whole hotel was spotless and it showed there were no insects no bad smells.
There was always someone on reception 24 hours a day and they were very helpful always giving information about the area and where to go
the pool area was nice and clean and plenty of sunbeds there is a life guard on duty throughout the day who is very friendly always talks to you and entertains the kids, the snack bar serves good quality food and drink and the evening restaurant is the same with all the staff very friendly and helpful.
If you walk a short distance you come to the spar supermarket which is quite cheap then you come to some bars and restaurants we went into bojangles very good. It you walk about 10 mins to the sea front you come to even more shops and restaurants all a very good prices. The walk back is uphill but I didn’t mind that as it gave me abit of exercise.
An all round excellent holiday and hotel I would recommend this to anyone.
