The only thing good about this holiday was going self catering. We would have got more sleep if we had camped out side of glasgow air port .noise was absolutely appalling. I had to go and sleep in the front room to get away from the noise. The beds were like camping beds... more

Went as a group of 5 girls, 17-18yr olds after exams. Holiday was brilliant, everything we were hoping for. The hotel was really close to all the night life and the beach, although walking down to the beach a bit further away is well worth it. The hotel was pretty clean,... more

Great for young people, and people who don't mind a bit of noise!
Me and my sister stayed at Las Floritas mid January 2007. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, who gave us our key and directions to our apartment, which was situated on the first floor. I was a little worried when walking up the corridor towards the room, but once we got into the apartment, it was lovely! Spotlessly clean, with a pay tv, kitchenette and balcony. We saw one cockroach for the whole 8 days in tenerife and that was at a nightclub in the centre of the clubby part. Although we did speak to a couple who stayed on the ground floor, who said they had a problem with cockroaches. I think it's hard to avoid though, Tenerife has a problem with them. Pool area was kept clean. The pool was cleaned out daily, not many people in it in Jan though! Only the brave. Room seemed to be cleaned 6 days a week, although the cleaners don't mind coming back later if you want them to. Staff were friendly and helpful, and sorted out any trouble, noisy guests etc very fast. We were in an apartment which was situated at the front of the complex, which proved to be noisy at night(traffic, people, general noise, not too much music though) which was fine for me and my sister, as we're only 18 and 20. But this might prove to be a problem for other people. Also the pillows were quite old, if I stayed there again (which I would) I'd take my own pillow. Extra blankets in the wardrobes. We didn't hear a peep from the brothel, or see any shady characters. I was scared after reading lots of reviews about people being mugged, and having things stolen. We didn't experience any of this. Although the looky looky men are a pain, I found if you offer them 1 euro for their fake Dior glasses, they will bugger off. Las Floritas is at the top of a hill, but in walking distance of shops, clubs, bars, restaurants...although there are many hotels which are better situated if you want to be amidst all the action. We only took a taxi once, and it was very cheap. I'd definitely stay at Las Floritas again, it was great value for the money we paid.
Traffic noise
Stayed at Las Floritas from 6th March to 13th March 2007. Apartments a bit basic and needed redecoration but we paid a pittance through a Late Deal so we are not complaining. The big problem with the place is the roadworks on the seafront in Americas. Because of this all the traffic from miles around passes the rear or possibly the front of the apartments. The nearby hospital must have a huge accident and emergency ward as there are on average 3 ambulances screaming past every hour and I mean EVERY hour of the day and night. The only other problem was the carpark opposite the apartments which is used for parties by 200/300 local youths between 1am and 6.30am every Sunday morning. No sleep.
amazing holiday
Read all the comments about las floritas before i went was put off a little but went anyway, glad we did what a holiday, apartments were gr8 our balcony was a sun trap we had sun from first thing to sunset. Rooms very clean and tidy maid service was good and staff and pool good.Las floritas is situated round the corner and down a hill from the beach on the hill are many shops and resaurants at the bottom of the hill turn right to starco strip and veronicas, and a left to the Patch which is where we spent most of our time in particular the Blaydon races, Roxy is a must see. Would recomend these apartments to anyone young and old singles and couples.
great if youlike cockroaches
went on 26th jan with my wife for 1 week. while the apartment was clean with maid service everyday, we had a problem with cockroaches who seemed to prefer our bathroom every day. perhaps it was because we were on a ground floor apartment (block 10 room 2 ). I would advise anyone going to these apartments to request a higher floor.
great break
This was our first family holiday in 9 years. Our daughter 16th birthday she wanted sun!! DECEMBER!!!! it was warmer than the UK but I would have liked it hotter. The Accommodation was basic but catered of all are needs (5 of us). Room service was good, clean towels nearly everyday. Unfortunately there was no on site entertainment however within walking distance there was plenty to do. Luckly the complex was quite quiet as there would have been a struggle for space to soak up the sun. The pool was great but very cold my son still enjoyed it, mostly to himself!!! Plenty of things to do, trips etc., however they are an extra expense, and our trip up mount teide was spoilt due to the reps poor advise on inapproprate clothing. We spent the day shivering and very uncomfortable, but an excellent trip. A great one for the kids is the water park with the added bonus of a dolphin show which was fab. I would go back again but not in the high season due to space.
Great if you like cockroaches
Where to begin? On arriving couldn't believe we were at an apartment complex- we were dropped off on the main road and had to walk down some steps and through a glorified tunel into reception. When you pass reception and hit the pool area, it does look class - kinda wondering how can all this be behind here. Our apartment was on the ground floor area, opposite reception - pretty big inside - not much of a balcony area. The weather was not great - prettty overcast most days - but warm enough for the old shorts and tee shirt. We had heard reports of a certain type of club next door and were looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about - well - not much to say here - didn't really even notice it was there. The reps werent all that great, we met them on the first morning (tried to sell us some really special sunscreen and aftersun) probably could have done with this on the last day - lobsterville. To hit the main veronicas strip from the hotel, you can either go left or right - go right and you hit a nice street with some good bars and restaraunts - go left in the evening and youll be approached by all sorts of ladies of the night- word to wise - they are brutal - stay away. We went to the school disco night in Bonkers -on the promise of free drink - bad beer and warmish everything else - not worth 50 euro. Compared to Puerto Rico, Playa De Las Americas is a bit of a seedy type place, but we had the world cup to get us through. Tramps is the biggest club in the resort - prettty good. We walked to the water park one day - accross motorways, through residential and german areas, then finally arrrived - 3 main slides - one of which i got stuck on, the best one was a u shape, you went down in twos in a dingy and thought you were goinig to launch off the other side. The taxi drivers are mad dogs - driving on what ever side of the road they feel like and fighting with any driver in their way. On the last day we found los christainos and all the designer shops - pitty it took so long to find it. It was tough to find a decent bar with god music and entertainment in one place. All in all a good holiday, pitty bout the clouds
moved out
Go to Tenerife about 3 times a year and booked last minute and ended up at las floritas. Whilst the apartments look nice in the brochure, i wasn't too happy about the location, but decided to go anyway. My apartment was very basic, very hot and very noisy. The cooker was filthy and you could see into next doors bathroom from my shower, via a mesh shaft. I have stayed in some grotty apartments, but this one was really grotty. maybe i was just unlucky. I think it didn't help that we were there in the middle of july in a heatwave, with no air con. The apartments were full of "18-30" 's type customers who were all having a great time, and i'm sure if i was 20 years younger i would have been having a ball too, but it was all too much and we moved out after 3 days to a nice, clean modern air conditioned apartment. Bliss. I'm sure these apartments would be fine for younger holidaymakers who just want to go and party, or if you go off season when its quieter, but they weren't for me.
Excellent Accommodation at Las Floritas
We stayed at Las Floritas Apartments, Tenerife in Dec 06, the week before Christmas. If I were going back I'd definitely book the same accommodation. There are no lifts so it isn't good if you have reduced mobility, but otherwise we couldn't complain about anything. It is a medium sized apartment complex with a maximum of 3 storeys. Our apartments were clean and well presented and during the week the cleaners came every day except one. The pool area is very clean and you can get a lounger for 1euro a day. All staff were very nice and helpful. It has a very good location and is surrounded by many shops and restaurants. It is a short walk to the beach and the main pub areas. During our stay there was a mix of young people, families and older couples. It was never noisy at night time. I can't rate these apartments highly enough. Friends of mine have stayed here before and they had a great time also.
first impressions last
we went with our two children as it is classed as a family set up the room was small but had every thing we needed the pool is absolutley brilliant we were amazed by it the place is lively during the night but it did not bother us that much others complained as they got more hassle nearer the reception but do not be put of we were not we are even going to book again for next year there is a brothel under neath the appartments but they do not bother any one we actually saw some thing happen but that was on the way home on waste ground across the road and that was half five in the morning people are friendly and the restuarant called laucharnas at the top is lovely and nice just watch out for the people with scratch cards they are everywhere just keep saying no and they get the message the security guard can be a knob but he is harmless the best pub is called the royal on the main road its got a bit of everything bingo quiz karaoke and act brilliant for kids as well ours loved it
OK but pity about the brothel next door!
Apartments are nice enough for what was paid but we were tucked away in a corner which never saw the sun. The layout of the complex is quite nice with a stream like pool circling some of the apartments, not that we could see this as we stared at a chain link fence directly opposite the balcony. That said we were well away from the main road and the 'nightclub' at the entrance which is nothing more than a brothel. We all declined the various 'favours' offered to us each night as we trundled down the steps towards the reception. There is a lovely restaurant next door to the complex called 'Lucanos'. Good service and food, well worth several visits. Goran's Winer and Diner in the 'Patch' is also hard to beat. There are several good places to eat and drink, particularly the California Bar (opposite Netto at St Columbus apts) where Dave and Mary will see you alright. There is an excellent duo in the Brewers Droop called 'Looney Tunes' excellent musicians with a bit of comedy (can be crude-but funny) thrown in. Las Americas is currently being renovated - albeit slowly. The main road outside the 'Patch' is still being dug up 8 months after it started. Although I have been many times its still a great break to have in mid January.
