Me and my boyfriend (age 23) have just got back from Las Floritas on the 29th May. We stayed here for two weeks. When you are dropped off by the coach you have to cross and busy road and the entrance to the reception is between The Whisky Jar (quality pub) and a Chinese restaurant. When you walk in it opens up into a lazy river that flows right round the apartments. The rooms were fine for a two key apartments, beds were comfortable and two big thick pillows. Lots of wardrobe space, and a sitting area.
We were in room 24-1, over looked the poolside bar, really quiet on a night time and we got the sun all day round.
These are the small problems we had with the apartments-
1. Hobs on the cooker took 5 hours to boil a kettle, we just bought a travel one, I mean unless are wanting to cook a full Sunday dinner it’s not a big problem at all.
2. Sun loungers cost 1 euro a day and there isn’t much room around the pool to put them, but we sunbathed on our balcony. A positive thing is you can use the hotel next door called the Oro Negro, their pool is huge and the loungers are free.
That’s it really nothing else bothered us, we had just 1 cockroach and we bought some spray and they never came back. There is a small shop next door open late, great to get your water. You must go to the Whisky Jar next door; they do great food, really cheap and it is nice to chill out in for a drink.
Also a must go to the Anchor bar, just down the street, great live music and karaoke, and cheap drink. This hotel had a mix of people, older, young groups and children, and there is no noise at all at night after 11pm so you can get a good night sleep.
The cleaners came everyday to tidy and empty bins. The shower was a bit weak, but it washed my hair ok, the bathroom was clean and no cockroaches in there.
All in all we had a very relaxing holiday; we did start to get a bit bored by the end of the second week. Go to the medieval night, it was the best night, so funny and unlimited wine!!! 50 euros for the whole night from 7pm until 12pm. I wouldn’t go back to Las Americas, just because I’ve been there twice and want to go some where new, but if its your first time, you should love it. Nice apartments for what you pay.
Hope you enjoy - Lucy

We booked our holiday one week before departure on an allocated on arrival basis, from 27/03/07 - 06/04/07.
When the coach dropped us off on the opposite side of an extremely busy road and we looked across to the escort agency, nightclub, massage parlour & Scottish bar that surrounded the entrance we wondered what we had let ourselves in for!
After struggling down the steep steps to the reception area with our luggage & 3 month old baby in her pushchair, we were given our key and directions to out apartment, and walked out into an oasis of calm!
The complex looked very pretty with the whitewashed buildings; planted balconies and river-like pool complete with mini waterfalls and was clean.
Our apartment was 14-2, on the ground floor in the far corner of the left hand side. It was spacious & clean. Some of the lights didn't work but the fridge freezer was fine and some of the cooker rings worked! We found one of the rings boiled the kettle quickly & stuck to that!
They had provided a cot but we had taken our own & used that. Where our apartment was situated was very quiet. On our balcony the main sounds we heard were running water from the waterfalls in the pool & birds singing. We could hear sirens but no other traffic noise.
We were happy with the frequency of cleaning & linen changes. A notice in the reception area said this was determined by the individual tour companies, not by the hotel management.
We found all the staff friendly and helpful, even the security guard with little English.
While we were there some holiday makers had trouble with a couple of Scandinavian lads playing loud music all day & night. The staff spoke to them about it several times & eventually they were asked to leave.
The apartment was ideally situated. We found an entrance to the complex that avoided the steps, although if you came back late at night you had to pass the open door of the massage parlour.
It took about 10 minutes to walk to the beach at Las Americas or 20 mins at Los Cristianos.
We found plenty of decent places to eat, some even selling traditional Canarian food (Dona Juana’s - fantastic!), all at reasonable prices. We didn't eat pie & chips or any other English food once, & found that most of the touts would leave you alone after a polite no thank you.
I have to say that the English touts were the most persistent & rudest. For some reason they couldn't understand why we wouldn't want to sit in a bar watching football on our holiday!
From all the work going on it looks as though Las Americas is trying to shake off its Club 18-30 image & attract more families & older couples. The parts that are completed are lovely - it should be great when it's all finished.
Overall, we had a very relaxing time. We would definitely stay at Las Floritas again.
The only problem we had was with a MyTravel rep on a tour.

We had apartments 3-11 (3 People) and 4-9 (4 people) and on entry the 3-11 apartments looked very nice, nice sized toilet and rooms. Our apartment of 4-9 was a reasonable size as well but the bathroom was pretty basic and looked rather rundown.
The one thing you need to know about these apartments is the location is right beside the main road and if you are in the front apartments next to this, then you can expect noise, morning noon and night! We read that an escort agency was right next to these apartments, but we did not know a night club was there as well!
Friday and Saturday night you can expect to be awake from 3:00am with volume levels so extreme that you will think you are sleeping at a major outdoor concert, and I'm probably underplaying this.. you almost get bounced out of your bed with the force of the volume!
The pillows supplied on each bed are a waste of time, so if you need something hard to put your head on, get some towels out because no amount of these pillows together will support anyone!
Bedding was changed once, and towels only twice in the week we stayed.
Like many other people mention on here, the cooker is a joke, with more heat coming from a match! We usually put the tiny kettle on and then waited for a full hour before the thing became hot in any way. The Toaster was a surprise, but the wall socket in the kitchen area was knackered, and the only place we could plug it into was in the toilet, with the toaster sitting on the closed toilet seat! Clearly, we had to make sure nobody rushed in there to get a surprise when the toast ejected out!!!!
The rooms we had turned out to be an ideal suntrap, in the afternoon and we could sit out until around 8:00pm getting a tan. Just a pity afterwards the noise spoiled things so much. We had thought of using the sun loungers, but it appears you have to pay to use them!
Same for the TV... a complete joke!! The safe in the room had a 15 Euro deposit and 18 euros for its use... it never fails to amaze me how we all pay for something that should be a standard... security of our possessions.
The food around the area was all the same, pretty much dire fair with pies chips and all the other "British Food". How anyone can write and say that the food was excellent... well, each to their own, but I visited a lot of places there and it was all overpriced and the same.
Overall the holiday was interesting, but I certainly would never go back to these apartments...

Just came back from a holiday in these apartments and found them great and very well positioned for either a quiet or a lively holiday depending on what you prefer. The apartment we stayed in was 3-1 and had 2 bedrooms, not huge bedrooms but ideal for holiday stay.
The sitting/dinning room was a good size and the balcony overlooking the pool was excellent for bathing and relaxing. The apartment was clean and looked to have been recently renovated with all new appliances such as TV, iron and iron board, microwave, Nintendo games console, DVD player, safe and all the rest.
The complex itself was great with a pool that goes all the way round almost like a lazy river (great for kids). You are about a 5 min walk to the beach and there are bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The new shopping centre is also a few minutes walk which also has some great restaurants (Try the Bianco if you like Italian cuisine).
We booked this apartment through the internet from tenerifehothols.com and with our flights the holiday worked out very cheap with a taxi to the apartment door from the airport only costing 20 Euro (no waiting for buses and a tour round the resort doing drop offs) All in all it was a great holiday.

Please note my comments! I'm a well traveled 27 yr old! Stayed in Las Floritas last summer. Whoever says that these apartments are up to standard has got to be joking. Ok, they were regularly cleaned over our 2 week stay, but they are in serious need of renovation.
Everything from appliances to furnishings were extremely dated. The hob took about a half hour to heat anything up, toast took approx 20 mins. There is absolutely no place to sun bathe around the pool, and if you're lazy like me, the beach is a fair trek in a sweltering 40 degrees.
The cafe/bar, if that’s what you'd call it, is grubby, but luckily there is great choice within a stones throw. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend these apartments to anybody who likes some bit of quality on their Summer break.

We stayed at the Las Floritas from 13th - 20th March, the apartment we stayed in, 13-3 was nice, clean and tidy and the shower was nice and powerful. Our balcony didn't get the sun on it but that didn't bother us too much. The maid service was good; the room was cleaned most days.
We didn't sun bathe round the apartment pool, we went to the Oro Negro about 200 metres down the road where our welcome meeting was, much more spacious. I would recommend you try Matthew's for lunch, absolutely gorge, we ate in there several days, the salads and breakfasts are lovely.
We also drank in the Whiskey Jar which is at the front of the apartments; the food in there is nice too. Overall we would go back to these apartments as they are clean and in a good location.

I'm just back from a week in the Floritas and overall we had a great holiday!
I'm 29 and my Mum is 59 and both agreed their location was excellent for all ages.
The apartment we were in 3-4 was spacious and very clean. Never seen one cockroach.
The balcony is big enough for 2 to sunbathe on should you not want to go down to the pool area.
You can pay for a TV which ok only has Sky News, CNN News, Sky One and Sky Sports but how much TV do you need to watch while on holiday?
We took our own kettle with us so it boiled quick enough. The maids came every day to make the beds and change the towels.
The only complaints I have are...this room was on the main road and as others have said the noise is terrible.
The sirens flying by are as bad if not worse, than when I stayed in New York!! And the Security Guard... serious attitude problem. Oh and no lifts should you be elderly.
I'd definitely go back though and so would my Mum.

This is the second time we have stayed at Las Floritas. After last year’s problem with noise I had asked to be located away from the front of the complex.
Did I get my wish... No. We were allocated apartment 4-2 which is located on the top floor, (no lift).
The apartment itself was very clean and from looked to have new floor and wall tiles.
The sheets were changed mid week and the towels were changed every day. The 2 ring electric hob struggled to boil a pot of water and in the end I got out of bed about 30 mins before I wanted breakfast, just to switch it on.
The noise from 24 hour traffic in this apartment was terrible, with scooters buzzing by like demented wasps.
The local hospital is about 750 metres away and there were frequent ambulance sirens every night. Worse was yet to come, our return journey was due to depart the complex at 5am on Sunday morning so we went to bed early.
No sleep however due to the car park opposite being crammed with cars and young people with the doors open stereo volume full blast.
Added to that, boy racers spent much of the time doing donuts and generally burning rubber.
This eventually came to an end at about 4.30am when one boy racer ran out of luck and collided with a local taxi, the police came and at last there was a bit of sanity (too late for us though).
The coach was unable to pick us up opposite the complex because of the accident and we had to walk with our cases to the next car park, about 200 metres away to get the coach.
Would we go back? Only if there was a cast iron guarantee that we would be well away from the front of the complex.

Apartment (1-2) was dirty on arrival, spacious but very basic & tatty.
Kitchen area was a joke, no electric kettle only a tiny kettle to go on to an (aged) electric hob, this took (40) minutes to boil enough water for 3 tiny cups (supplied).
We purchased 3 mugs & it took 2 kettle boils to fill these, so hope your not in an hurry for your morning brew.
Kitchen taps dripped constantly. The toaster was supplied, well Ok there was 1 but you had to plug this device in on the floor near the patio doors or on the bed in the bedroom, as there were no other sockets available.
Bathroom toilet seat broken, sink taps would not turn off, bidet not plumbed in & with smashed taps.
The shower, that if you ran any other taps within the apartment the hot water was diverted to these taps & not the shower.
But with both the kitchen & sink taps constantly dripping then it was cold showers all the way for us, & mouldy plastic shower curtain that on entry in to the bath stuck to you & no matter how you tried, wouldn't come off, only it came off the wall easy enough, (telescopic suction pads that were to say the least grubby).
TV was on a meter Ok but remote control, was 6 euros a week to rent.
The whole apartment was dirty & made me feel unclean, spent most of the time on the porch (killing cockroaches) most of the evening.
Hotel bar closes at seven so does the pool, both opened at 11 (ish), you will get used to this word (ish) whilst you stay here.
Apartment staff were rude, unhelpful; except for the young lady who worked the bar she was very pleasant, & helpful.
If these apartments are what you have booked, then if what we received is what other guests are going to receive, then you have my sympathy.
Still the weather was great & so this stay wasn't completely wasted.
Would I recommend these apartments to anyone. No.

When we arrived, unfortunately we didn't have time to look around the apartment as we had arrangements but I wish we had!
We were given room 10-1 (cockroach alley!) as for the full 2 weeks we were there, we did nothing but throw the little sods out of our apartment.
The apartment itself was less than basic, without an electric kettle or microwave. The TV was on a meter and they expected you to pay for even Spanish TV.
The plug sockets were at a minimum and one was unsafe to use and the patio doors were locked on the inside, by a simple flimsy bolt lock.
The bathroom was even more of a laugh, as the bath itself had been botched up and was showing rust, the shower was OK I suppose but the running hot water wasn't, as you sometimes ended up with a cold one.
The bidet wasn't plumbed in and there wasn't any storage or shelving for your toiletries.
As we read up before we went away, we thought we had made the right decision as many people said that noise wasn't tolerated and there was a security guard. This was right, the guard was present, but I had to go out to him at 4 am one morning to complain about the noise from 2 doors down, it was ridiculous.
Apart from the apartment, we had a great holiday weather was brilliant and the shopping was non stop, plenty of bars and restaurants and things to do.
I would definitely go back to Tenerife but NOT Las Floritas!

Nightmare! Arrived on the Friday and never slept because of the roar of the traffic, the staff next day couldn't have been less helpful.
I was told to come back on the Monday. On Monday they moved us to a room where the cockroach population of the resort obviously met up, after trying to get rid of them and failing, we asked for another room.
After being refused, we packed up and paid for a room at the hotel round the corner for the night before our rep moved us to another hotel 3km away ( at our expense!!)
After returning home, I wrote a letter of complaint to the travel agents and they (to their credit) have refunded us all our extra expenses.
I wouldn't go back if my life depended on it.

Me and my friend me 18, her 21, had an absolutely great time over there.
Our first thoughts when we went in we were like, ah great, this is more for elderly people, we won’t be aloud breathe.
Well I was wrong it was a great area for bought ages. I will admit the apartments are quiet but the nightlife is great. The Whiskey Jar, I didn’t like the food until a new chef came, he was great. The bar staff are so friendly that we they ended up bringing us to all sorts of nights out, I loved it.
I am actually in the process of looking for another holiday to Tenerife and Las Floritas is the only place I will go.
We had no cockroaches on the bottom floor. The cleaners were alright. You kind of ha to tell them to come and clean the rooms.
My favourite places to party were Bikinii g's down under Tramps and lots more.
Oh ye don’t forget Murphy’s Irish bar the band were great loved it.
