I travelled on the 18th august, for 2 weeks. At first i thought it was going to be the hotel from hell, from the impression i got from the reviews i read. I am 18 and travelled with 5 other girls. i read that the doors were flimsy, safety deposit boxes werent up to much, and that the security gaurd was a nightmare. also that the cleaners did not always clean the room.
As soon as we got there we had to wait for around 10 minutes whilst our room was being cleaned out from the last occupants. However we recieved our welcome meeting there and then which meant we werent sitting around. The staff were really helpful and kind. there was only one moody receptionist however he was there on our last day.
Who ever is the lead name will have their passport taken off them and put behind the reception. i think this was because of safety. However the security gaurds were there all night and when they left the desk they locked it up which was a good thing. we had one run in with the securtiy gaurd, when we got threatened about the police coming. this was because it was 7am and there was us and another group shouting on, whihc is understandable. apart from that he was a nice guy. he found it funny when i was drunk and thought i lost my room key. he was understanding and then laughed when i found it in my back pocket! he always said hello when we left and came back to the hotel.
the pool is MASSIVE! all around the complex. There are a couple of deep parts and shallow parts for different ages.
i also read that u got dropped off and left on the other side of the road! this is rubbish! our rep took us and made sure we were settled before she left. Ashleigh was our escapades rep and even showed us to our room and opened our door, because we found it hard to open. which made me realise that the doors arent flimsy. the safes come with a key and a code which u have to enter.
the foam party is a must! all inclusive bar for 3 1/2 hours and dance r&b music all night.
there was one night when the hotel was raided by 4 police cars with their patons! because the irish lads wouldnt get out the pool and hearled abuse at the gaurds! but what do u expect.
there was 3 in each room and we were next door to eachother, and throughout the 2 weeks the only place you could really hear eachother was in the bathroom through the vent.
this is definitly not a 2 * hotel! 3 atleast.
the cleaners came to our room everyday basically apart from about 3! so 11 days out of 14 is excellent compared to other hotels!
If i go back to tenerife i will most definitly be staying at the las floritas! :)
when we entered it was mid day and the pool was packed. there were younger children, younger genertaion and middle aged people as well. i wouldnt recommend this hotel in the height of season if you have a little baby!
the strip is classs! 2 drinks 4 6 euros. and it is about 5 mins walk away if that.
Also breakfast and evening meals at Matthews (2 doors to the left of the hotel) is lush! and really cheap! whiskey jar too! pub quiz with a twist as we got told half our answers coz we had no idea! :)
hottest day was 40 degrees when we were on the booze cruise! part from that it was 35 everyday! :P

We went as 2 couples and really enjoyed the holiday. The apartments were basic but totally what we expected tho could have done with air conditioning! fans can be hired from reception though. We never had any problems with insects and the pool was great! location was perfect, a 10 min walk to the beach and same distance to the nightclubs. The maid was lovely but never changed sheets, although it is possible to ask for sheets at reception. weather was lovely and there was a breeze most of the time which helped! the only downside was the brothel out the front but this did not actually affect us it just looks tacky! apartment shop is open until 1.30am and opens again at 7.30. I would advice people to take lots of money because it is expensive! overall i would definitely recommend the apartments and the area especially for young couples and groups!

i travelled with 10 other friends (all girls, 16-18 years old) to Las Americas on the 19th June 2009 for 2 weeks. After reading the reviews we didnt really no what to expect with our appartments, but they were really good, pretty basic, but we had got a cheap deal. The appartments were spacious, clean with good sized bedrooms & bathrooms & a huge balcony which all over look the pool. They maids came everyday & replaced towels ect & even done our washing up once! the pool was a great size, their is not much going on round the pool for younger people but you are welcome to use the pool of another hotel just a minute up the road which is more lively! really close to all the great nightlife(less than 5mins walk)! the reps were great & we joined all the bar crawls & they organised other things for us eg. foam party..it cost 180euro, which does sound alot but really worth it as you get to meet alot of people & don't have the hassle of organising anything! quite alot of families & couples, which would probley be the only downside as you do get shouted at for making noise & threats of the police being called, but we didnt take too much notice as they never atually did! i would definatley reccomened las floritas & las Americas especially for a first holiday.

Las Floritas Apartments are basic and you are provided with everything you need for example equipped kitchen etc ... The restaurant right next door is really nice and cheap to eat in. Its called the whiskey jar. Don't go to the chinese as personally i don't think its nice lol, don't eat in aberdeen steak house either.
Pool is great, cleaned frequently etc. Security on at night are really strict. Don't allow you to have a quiet drink on your own balcony or they threaten to throw you out. My friends and I got several warnings lol but made it to the end without being threw out lol.
Cockraches come out at night time, so make sure you keep your balcony door closed over
Windows are very easily opened by a push, although nothin went missin when we stayed. Cleaners are good, although they wake you up very early with loud bangs on the door! Sheets are cleaned once a week, towels are provided each couple of days which is good.
No air conditioning in the room which is a bad thing. Tryin to get asleep as night was terrible as it was too warm.
Nightlife is great, but the PR's are very annoying. People from every single club try to persuade you to go into their bars and give you good deals, very hard to say no, and people trying to sell you things when your drunk is terrible. Can't even get peace to eat a meal, ya'll see them everywhere! If you go to the beach, stay away from the woman who do your hair in plaits! So not worth the money. They try to rip u off bigtime. Restaurant down beside the beach was really nice. Maytes or sumthin ya called it.
The thomas cook rep, Aisleigh was really good. Made us all feel welcome and got us a deal for bar crawls etc. Booze cruise is a must :-) Its amazing haha. Airport also really strict. 10euro per extra kilo :(
Overall, great holiday

Booked self cathering last minute holiday in this hotel. I had everything: big enough bedroom, spacious kitchen/livingroom, comfortable bed, clean towels and sheets. I am happy not paying a lot of money for sleeping/accommodation, instead i ate out in different restoraunts. Very happy with everything, deffinetely go back.
These apartments needs some refurbisments, but then costing more.

I booked this holiday as a last minute deal for myself, my three year old son and my mum.
I have been to most holiday resorts, however I have not been to Tenerife before, so thought we'd give it a go!
This may sound silly, but I read all the reviews on here and on other sites AFTER I'd booked it. I could not believe what I was reading - noisy clubs, brothels, sirens sounding all night etc.
So naturally I was worried to death about staying here.
I needn't have worried, I had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday here.
I shall try to summarise my experiences into good points and bad points...
Good points - It is spotlessly clean, cleaners in every other day who do a great job.
It's quiet, I was listening out for noise after hearing reviews and can honestly say nothing could be heard. If I sat out on the balcony I could hear sirens but can't say that bothered me at all.
The pool is great! Loads of shallow bits for the younger ones to play in.
The resturants situated on either side we're also great.
Mathew's bar was the best, a family run place, they made us feel very welcome and we went almost every night.
Taxis can be booked and turn up within minutes, they are cheap, great for going to the beach/shops.
Bad points - The main road is very busy, can be quite hard to cross. But you just have to be brave, drivers do stop for you or wave you across.
The shops and beach are a good half hour walk away, not so good if you have young children.
The staff are a bit miserable, told my mum off as she had a plate near the pool, taking authority a little bit too far but I appreciate they are putting safety first.
The patio doors are flimsy, I never left any valuables in the room just in case.
To sum this up, I had a great time here, some reviews I feel have been greatly exaggerated.
For example the brothel claims, all it is is a neon sign advertising a place called "pussycats" I couldn't even see the entrance to it and certainly didn't see any ladies of the night! And I did look as I wanted to get some funny pics to send home, but no such luck.
Spotless apartments, an ok location if you don't mind a little walking.
And I would return, Tenerife is a pretty place and I had a brilliant time.

To start off, i was honestly dreading these appartments after reading reviews! However after my week holiday, my opinion is different. It was not as bad as expected and im rating it a 7/10! Thomson said this hotel was 3 star, however its actually 2 star but its very good for 2 star. Contains kettle fridge/freezer toaster microwave etc. Noise not as bad as heard it would be. its more the noise of people moving about up stairs and cleaners etc that can be heard rather than the occaisonal siren. Stayed on the bottom floor close to the reception. The security was not the best. i have to tell the truth i was worried being bottom floor as the lock was not secure and the window lock was broken! the noise and the security were the only down points. Pools great- however as you can imagine its freezing in Jan. Kids loved it tho. said no inflatables allowed in the pool however the life guard didnt mind. There is also a pool bar and a pool table however it shuts early. Whiskey jar next door is great ! nice pub grub in there too! Lovely staff. Close to some beaches and not far from a shopping centre. Also Siam park- water park- is highly recommended! you can get a bus from opposite the spar down the road from the appartments for free to the water park however u must book tickets for the park before hand. Overall las floritas are good apartments and i hope this info helps you. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IT IS NOT AS BAD AS EXPECTED!!!! thanks for reading

We got back yesterday after two weeks in the apartments and have mixed feelings.
First the positives. These apartments are like an oasis in the middle of all the high rise flat style hotels. They are secluded and clean, almost feeling a bit off the beaten track, which is a nice thing when all the hustle and bustle is on the doorstep. The pool is excellent for kids and adults alike and our three spent every waking hour playing in the shallows and jumping into the deeper bits. Harvey, the lifeguard with the bushy ponytail is really good! The loungers are uncomfortable and not adjustable though and cost 1 Euro each per day.
The apartments themselves are clean but a bit basic - OK if you're only planning to sleep there.
There are a few not so good points though: Firstly the noise is constant from the road outside and if you're above the nightclub then expect the music to last til 6.30am, along with the car horns and ambulance sirens all night long... These, coupled with beds about as comfy as trying to sleep on a pebble beach, make for little sleep. There's no aircon in the rooms and we had to buy a couple of fans which helped and, at 12.90 Euros each, were a lot cheaper than the 25 Euros the hotel wanted per fan, per week (plus deposit) to rent.
There is no entertainment on the complex, not even a late bar, so make sure that when you return at night that you are actually turning in for the night else you'll be bored!
The security is questionable - the doors were loose in their frames when shut and locked, and the patio door lock and our room was broken and replaced with a cheap shoot-bolt at the top. Luckily we were on the top floor so nobody could really try to get in that way. Oh yes - top floor, 3 kids, big cases, 3am arrival, no lift... work the rest out for yourself!
There is a TV in the room which is pay as you watch (takes the loose change you tend to gather in the bars, which is good!) but you better like Sky News, Cartoon Network or PriceDrop TV! Other equipment was sparse - no kettle, no toaster (although we figured out the oven did toast on our last few days there!).
Other people comment on the "massage parlour" downstairs but to be honest, if you didn't know about it you wouldn't probably notice it.
Recommend: Mathew's (say hi to Liz!), Whiskey Jar, Wigan Pier, La Boca, Daniels and the City Centre bar, and do the Loro Parque tour if you can. Bargain the looky-looky men down to 5 Euro tops for their "best price" sunglasses and if you stick to what you want to pay they'll cave in. If in doubt the walk-away always works! The braidy-ladies can be right pain though. It's damn hot here, and we would probably return but only to these apartments if the price was really right...!

Stayed at Las Floritas in a private apartment on the 2nd Sept for a week with 2 friends, i have been to Tenerife many times before and stayed in loads of different apartments but this one was the best, the complex was great, the pool was amazing and at the time of year it was always quiet which was good as we always got a good spot by the pool!! The Whiskey Jar is a must we went there for Breakfast, dinner and a drink before heading out! Love Jock (the owner) if anyone has been to tenenrife years ago they may know Jock from DJ'ing at the Cally bar, well he now works at the Whiskey Jar and he is as mad as ever!! We are going back next year and cannot wait!!!!
