We booked 2 rooms (4 adults + 2 children) from spanishisles.com and joanne was brilliant with any queries we had and sorted out and issues quickly.
The spanish reception at Torres del sol are very very un helpful so never ask for anything at reception. They would not even book a mini bus for us to go to airport! instead they told us to go to taxi rank (with 6 suitcases etc)
Steve who owns the bar sorted us out though and he was brilliant.
One of the rooms we had at first was not up to what we expected with no balcany on ground floor facing a brick wall and loads of cockroaches. Joanne moved us up to first floor on towerblock and the room was better but could do with updating a little. Shower only gives about 5 minutes of hot water then goes cold.
Good points of this hotel is its very close to beech. We walked to the beech within a minute!
The pool was cleaned and checked every morning i noticed. Some spanish geezer took samples every morning and the pool did look very very clean.
To sum it up- i would go back to Los christianos again but not in T.D Sol.
Tenerife royal gardens are much better!!

My family booked two apartments in Aug 10 on check in they didnt seem to know anything about our booking we eventually got 1 apartment facing on to the shops at Zara & an "upgraded" apartment in the tower block, apartment in main block was a death trap filthy with toilet that dosen't flush shower that dosen't work & electricians tape over most of the light switches we were eventually moved however the reps attitude was shocking. The "upgraded" apartment the reps description not mine was filthy with threadbare towels & sheets with holes in them, we had so much hassle getting one apartment changed that we just put up rather than waste another 2 and half days arguing over a move, if you want to stay at these apartments book direct with the owners these guys use their apartments & they are usually fine do not book with any web site because these people have no interest other than your money the complex is a good place to stay with a very friendly pool bar

I have been to the Torres Del Sol appartments 3 times, the last time was August 2010. We booked 3 separate studios for our family. 2 studios were on the 3rd floor of the outer buildings around the pool, one was really nice the other was just ok. The 3rd accomodation was on the 10th floor of the tower block with a fantastic view over the beach, this was a 1 bed appartments and was really nice (we only booked for 3 studios so this was an upgrade). Yes the complex is very old and some of the rooms will be better than other, but the whole complex is kept really clean. The bar staff are also really friendly. There are 2 pools, the older one is now looking a little shabby but again it is kept very clean. All in all this complex is fantastic for the price. If you want 4 star then book 4 star and pay 4 star prices. THIS COMPLEX IS IN A FANTASTIC LOCATION RIGHT ON THE PLAYA VISTA BEACH. I would come back here anytime for a cheap hol its brilliant!! Don't be put off by some of the bad reviews. Like I said some rooms are better than others but none are that bad. Go and you will have a great time.

Apartments are VERY dated and in need of total refurb!! My parents had to be moved 3 times when we arrived here in Feb 2010.. Sun loungers dirty and broken and place seems like it needs a total overhaul. Only good thing is the location..right on Las Vistas Beach!! Oh and the bar,the staff are really nice in there..

My family and close friends of the family went to Torres Del Sol on a self catering holiday, We had a great time and fit in straight away. My mother and her friend are very outgoing and sometimes can be a bit of a handfull but everyone on the complex and those surrounding thought they was very entertaining, we even got a late taste in the piano bar! We were sometimes being very loud but no one complained atall. The bars surounding the apartmet were very nice, as were the restaurants where we ate breakfast every morning, There are alot of cats around that area so i advise people with serious allergies to maybe think futher afield. We even adopted a little black kitten for 2 weeks as it just turned up on our on our balcony one day! The night life in this resort is fantastic for both adults and children. We will be returning to Torres Del Sol in November for my 18th birthday, and im sure ill have just as much fun as we did so many years ago. Ive heard that the Bar on the complex had been taken over by 2 new people and has been fully refurbished, i cant wait to take a look around again and bring back old memories!

I had a week in the Torres del Sol and although the location cannot be bettered, the apartment and the complex leaves a lot to be desired. Our apartment on the ground floor was dirty, the bathroom door was covered in a fungus and the toilet didn't flush.
The ceiling and free standing fans had dust all over them. Hardly any of the lights were working. The shower holder was broken and you had to hold the shower over your head.
The bedding had holes and the towels were old and falling apart.
The swimming pool beds were mostly broken and considering how many old people stay there, the flooring was of a very poor condition.
I love Tenerife and the apartments are on the beach, but I'd rather be further away in cleaner apartments.

arrived home just befors christmas 2009...had a whale of a time.... never been to torres del sol before.
beaches fantsasttic....a great location...we were thrilled and couldnt ask for better.
apartment was booked privatly so that was great also... we will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sarah and paul were the bar staf...... they were fantastic....once we got to know them we had loads of free shots and cheaper meals!
karaoke was great for the kids...an every night thing!

We have just returned from our holiday staying at Torres Del Sol during October 2009. we have taken a holiday during October for the past 4 years. Our booking is done privately with the owners, we stay in a lovely apartment which we are more than satisfied with. Last year the bar had been taken over by Zara & Paul and they have refurbished it, this has made a great improvement to the bar area and looks very nice. However, it has seemed to loose most of the trade. What ever has happened to this bar? In the past years during our holidays we have had some great nights in the bar, last year due to the refurbishment we didnt go in much as it closed early each night. This year we arrived at Torres Del Sol at 20.40 the reception was closed saying back in 30 mins, we thought lets go into the bar and have a drink whilst we wait only to find it was closed! Then after being at the complex for just 4 days the bar closed for a full week, Zara & Paul had gone away on holiday for a week. This bar was a meeting point for so many people who had come on holiday staying at Torres Del Sol, not only holiday makers would meet up but also for the locals who lived on the complex. I only hope something is done to get this bar back to how it used to be in the past, it is so sad to see it not being used.

i stayed in the torres for 3 weeks in the summer and it was brilliant i also went back to tenerife in the beginning of october and stayed at parque santiago 3 and i hated it the pool was rubbish and there were too many sunbeds i shows you that the price of an apartment doesn't mean anything torres wins everytime. i enjoyed my stay here because it's at a prefect place on the front and everyone is friendly if you want the nightlife it is just a short 10 min walk away and the beach is literally 2 mins away i would recommend the banana boat and the pedlos for a good day out a the beach the pool is very good as i said before and unlike parque santiago if you accidently swallow water you won't be sick with the amount of salt in it lol

As a couple pensioners i might add, have been staying at Torres del sol for over 10 years,returning twice a year for an 8 week break and a 5 week break. The complex is so friendly, the same people returning year after year, it has become more of a social 0occasion as well as a holiday, The buildings might be old but the complex is spotless and well maintained. It seems to be partly residential both with Spanish and English, that seems to add to the friendliness of the people. My social life is better in the Torres than back at home, a good mix, teenagers, young couples, pensioners, single men and women. Amazingly close to every amenity you could wish for, a wonderful selection of food, best beaches ever and more importantly to us, all on the flat, not too many hills.
Oops I forgot the retail therapy, lots of shops. On a final note wall to wall sunshine. We rent privately of the same person.
