Euro Hostel Glasgow

This hostel was very good. The room was clean and so was the bathroom, and they changed our towels every day. We did have to make our own beds though, which was hard after a long day of traveling. The breakfast was very good and plentiful, and the location was pretty good as well.

I have recently attended a large scientific meeting in Glasgow. Being too budget-conscious to sleep in a 4-star hotel, and too lazy to search for a less luxurious accommodation, I thankfully accepted the conference organizers´ offer and booked the budget option, which was the Euro Hostel. I did book a bit late, so I ended up in a 8-bed dormitory room. I would not mind this, but i DO mind that the management apparently could not keep track on its guests. I chose this hostel for two reasons, 1) it was cheap and I could get a room to myself and 2) it was close to the train station. This was the first hostel I stayed in and it was kind of what I expected. The front desk person was pleasant but not overly helpful. There are elevators or stairs. The carpet and the walls could use a good cleaning. You have to make your own bed. The only place to put your clothes and belongings is a metal locker (without a lock) that is somewhat dirty and reminicent of a dorm room. Not enough blankets,... more
