Brilliant hotel
We've just returned from a 2 week holiday at this hotel and had an excellent time. First impressions of the hotel complex was how big it was. You definately don't feel claustrophobic like i've done in other all inclusive resorts. When we were first shown to our room, I was a little disappointed. I've become a bit of a holiday snob over the years and I really didn't think it was up to 5 star standard, but none the less, it was a big room (and it is Egypt after all, so standards shouldn't be compared to European or Carribean hotels). We were on the ground floor and the room didn't really get any sunshine at all. It was very dark and we arrived in broad daylight!! However, after the first night in the extremely comfortable bed, I was completely fine with the room. Other than the Mosquitos! Ghastly things! Don't make the mistake my partner did and sleep without a t shirt on!. When he woke up, he'd sustained 11 bites on his back. A repellent or mosquito plug is essential and I can't stress that enough!!!! Service - I can honestly say that I have never received such good and cheerful service in all my years of travelling. Every single barman and waiter seem geniunely pleased and happy to serve you. Service is always with a smile. Quite often in all inclusive holidays, the smiles come after you've given them a $5 tip, but we didn't tip at all until the very last day. It made no difference, which is a rare thing these days. We tipped our favourite staff about 100 Egyptian Pounds each (about £10) at the end of the holiday. I didn't mind doing this, because there really is nothing else to spend money on. I think they share all their tips between them though. Food - Again, I thought it was really good for an all inclusive holiday. There was always something to eat and a huge choice. My favourite was the Milanese Italian. You don't have to book at lunch times and the pizza is really nice. The beef tacos at the Zapata Mexican place are good too! The main evening buffet always has 2 different soups on, so if you're fussy or have lost your appetite with Egyptian tummy, you can always have soup and bread. Beware of the Seafood restaurant, if you're not a fish eater like me. We went there one night thinking that there would be something other than fish that I could have. Afraid not. Before i had the chance to order a plain salad, a plate of various bits of seafood was automatically put down in front of me. I hate appearing rude or ungrateful, but I could have cheerfully thrown up! There is nothing non fishy at all on this menu. The nice men just did me a salad instead though and were very understanding. The Brazilian restaurant was interesting. My partner loved it, because it is a pure meatfest. Great if you're on the atkins diet. Kofta, steak, sausages (german ones obviously), chicken, pork. It just keeps on getting served to from big skewers by the staff. It's just like a barbeque. It was good though! Drink - BEWARE. One of my very few other gripes about the hotel was the drink. I booked this hotel, specifically because it stated that the booze was premium brands! Had I known that the only premium branded drink was Johnnie Walker black label and Campari, I might not've booked it. The vodka is drinkable, but I prefer either Absolut or Smirnoff. Also, being a whisky drinker, I would've preferred to see Famous Grouse, Bells or something similar. The Bacardi is an imposter! The label looks like Bacardi, but it's actually called something like Bacardoori'. However, this aside, the cocktails were really nice and I personally, really liked the Obelisk Red Wine. For the £2,450 which we paid for our 2 weeks, I would've expected a better choice in booze. Now, like many other reviews before, I really must touch on the subject of the Germans/Swiss/Dutch/Austrians etc. Yes, they are here in their droves, but to be honest, I didn't have a problem with them. Actually, I found it very entertaining watching them at the evening show. They love to do a conga and they like to do a grand old duke of york type dance. Hilarious... When 'stayin alive' came on, the animation staff did a bit of John Travolta-esqe routine and were avidly followed by dozens of Germans. It was hysterical!!! The entertainment is definately geared towards them, but that became our entertainment of an evening. Lets watch and laugh at our European counterparts, say I. Bless. Cleanliness - First class. As soon as you put your cigarette out, they're over giving you a clean one. We hardly ever had to top our water or wine up. The waiters always did that as soon as you were running low. It is the cleanest hotel complex i've ever been to. Currency - I would suggest taking some Euros here! They seem to work this way. However, I think the waiters preferred their tips in Egyptian. The shops around the complex work in Euros, although, they will accept Egyptian pounds too. Make sure you buy or bring some sea shoes! They're about 6 Euros in the shop and a good investment. Airport - Shambles, shambles shambles!! Too small and busy. When you arrive at the airport or should I say, when you step outside of Sharm Airport, keep a good grip on your bags. If you don't, an Egyptian man will grab them off you, then put them onto a trolly and push them to your bus! Total con, because they hound you like hell for money and charge you for the trollly. We were already aware of this con so didn't get stung, but other people did. Its the same when you're going home. Once you get off your bus (right outside the terminal door, incdentally), they try to grab your bags out of the bus hold! Take them off them straight away, becuase I don't think they're allowed in the airport anyway, hence they've got your bags for about 7 seconds and are agressive about getting money!. All in all, book this place and you won't be disappointed. Even with those few little niggles I had with the room and the booze, I would still return here in a minute. The more Brits that start coming here, the more they will start catering for our tastes in entertainment etc... C'mon the brits!
fantastic
We travelled to Magic Life in Sharm on 22nd May for one weeks stay. Upon arrival we were brought a drink and made to feel very welcome. The People, the hotel, the food everything was spot on we could not fault it at all. My husband is like Victor Meldrew when it comes to holidays and likes to have a moan if need be but even he was impressed. The Mossy's were a problem and i did not take anything to keep them away from us but in the end we bought fly killer, i would advise anyone going to take plenty of repellent and fly killer. Apart from that we had afantastic time, lazy days on the beautiful beach, popping down to the jetty for a snorkel which is out of this world!!!!!!!!! I am not a sea person and am quite scared of fish but i am so glad i did it because it will stay with me forever it was brill. I would advise anyone to go to this hotel the staff do not pester you for tips although you are expected to give them. The weather was so lovely we did not see a cloud in the sky for a whole week , makes a change with being from the UK. we came back with great tans. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would not hesitate to go back. The hotel did not shut down at 10.30 that's when it all begins,i'm not saying the entertainment is brill but it's bearable for a week. Whoever wrote a bad review on this place must have been at a different hotel than us as it was a great lazy holiday.
brilliant holiday
stayed at the magic life hotel just returned on the 30/05/2006 stayed there 2 wks what a brilliant holiday food amazing something for everyone the staff were great entertainment every night followed by the disco couldnt fault anything thought i,d made a mistake when i read some of the reviews makes you wonder what some people want we are looking to book and go back there for christmas it was my 3rd time in egypt and i would recommend this hotel BRILLIANT
great hotel shame about all the germans
i stayed at the magic life on the 20th of march for a week, i just wish id have stayed for two. this hotel catered for everyone and the food was delicious, but if you are wanting any of the a lacarte restuarants book as soon as you check in as this hotel is very big and gets booked up straigh away. try the milanese restaurant as this was my favourite the pizza was delicious. there was only two faults i had with this property 1) magic life as only just come to thomson but it has been around for quite some time in germany. so expect to see them in there numbers 2) most of the entertainment was german. as i was looking forward to the open air cinema i was dissapointed when it was all in german. other than that fantastic property. definatley go back
with a little effort this place could have been great.
I have purposefully left writing this for a couple of weeks to be sure that I am being fare. We got back from a week long stay on the 3rd April2006. In short the holiday was only saved by the reef and snorkelling on it. The hotel was celebrating its 15th birthday and showed every day of it. Pros. The reef was stunning and after the winds dropped below 40MPH I spent at least 2 hours a day snorkelling. Weight loss, the whole party lost weight - unfortunately this was due to the poor food, sickness & diahorrea and the distances that one needed to trek to get anywhere in the complex. Cons. The hotel is sprawling to the extent of being just too big. Almost 800M from our room to the jetty. We went with Thompson and although we requested rooms on upper floors we ended up on the ground floor. This was clarified by the staff who explained that Thompson don't pay enough for upper floors. Take mosquito repellents. We were eaten alive in the rooms each night. Take a torch to find your way around after dark. The lighting is all at chest level and only points upwards So walking around is out of the question. The drinks are free, of cost and of alcohol. Not a problem through the day but there is nowhere to buy a proper drink in the evening if you want one. The place closes down at 10:30 though, so the evenings are short enough. If you want to try the A La Carte restaurants try to book two weeks before you go. We went to book on the second day only to be told that the first available opening was in five days. The restaurant of our choice not available within the week at all. The food was OK if you like very rare meat and very little else. If you are a vegetarian don't even think about going here. The food was laid out over an area that was large enough to ensure that by the time that you got back to the table hot food was tepid as the plates were cold and the food was spread out that far. Try to get to the main restaurant about 45 minutes after they open. This way you have the best chance of having all items on menu out and still warm-ish. Sweets were great if you like sponge cake. Everything was based on it - all week. Live music five nights a week. Yes but only form 7:30 to 8:30 in the evenings and it is two guys strumming on guitars. Don't get ill. The clinic is only manned for two hours twice a week. If you want to swim in the pools you will need wet suits. The pools are not heated and are freezing till after 3:00 in the afternoon. If you are gregarious don't bother, a great place to be alone.
Excellent
Just got back this morning from magic life sharm imperial, excellent hotel, Bedroom & bathroom were of a good size, clean towels everyday & sheets every other day. there were plenty of restauants & bars, as well as entertainment there is something to do nearly all day if you want to, in the evening a live band plays 6 times a week which were very good. We had a massage & reflexology in the wellness center which was excellent and we paid no more than we would here in the uk. You can see my full review on the forum page
Just Fantastic
Recently returned from the all inclusive Magic Life Hotel in Nabq . The rooms are a good size, clean and with a balcony. The bathrooms are extremely clean and towels changed everyday. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffets were plentiful and different foods each day - we loved the "egg man" who cooked the breakfasts - sometimes he was happier than others! The beach was large with individual umbrellas, take shoes for going into the sea as you have to walk on coral like sand which can harm your feet. A little way from the town of Sharm although accessible by taxi. An ideal location just to chill out for a week. A must are the quad bikes in the desert 10/10. Would certainly make a return trip.

Just got back from sharm el sheikh two days ago stayed at the club magic life hotel and all i can say about the place and resort I WANT TO GO BACK.Cant fault the staff at all from bar staff to waiters cleaners and so on they were all very helpfull and realy made the holiday. As for the selection of food at the hotel i will say this we didnt go hungry. The rooms are clean and tidy new towels every day put in the rooms. The beach is very nice clean and tidy plenty of sun beds to choose from and no problems of getting beach towels from the beach using your pass given to you on checking in.There is a jetty off the hotel going out over the coral and it is well worth investing in mask and flippers either take your own or hire them from the dive shop near the beach front. Also on the beach there are electric bikes to hire well worth a go just for a ride along the coast to check out the other hotels in the area.TOP PLACE
Very nice but be careful when eating.
The hotel is very nice and I would recommend it. The room is comfortable and both the bathroom and the balcony were big. The staff was very friendly and everything was very clean. The beach's sand has small stones which is not very comfortable to walk, but you can buy diving shoes in the city (make sure you ask for a discount!). From all the hotels in that area I believe Magic Life had the best place for snorkeling. The food was very good specially in the Italian and Moroccan restaurants. The hotel is a bit far from the city but they have a shuttle bus (which you have to pay) twice a day. The only negative point is that me and my boyfriend had food poisoning when staying there what is not very nice when you are far away from home, in a Muslim country where there is no toilette paper in the Airport's bathrooms.
Excellent, fantastic hotel!!
This is a fantastic all inclusive hotel in Sharm El Sheik! Can't recommend it more!!! Friendly, hard working (very very hard working!!) staff, clean and comfortable rooms, spotless resort, great food, and clean beach towels whenever you want them!!! Oh, and the snorkelling from the hotel jetty is superb!! If you want a relaxing beach holiday, or somewhere with organised activities (but no pressure to join in!), with great food (lots of choice, with 4 or 5 restaurants), friendly staff and EVERYTHING included, this the place to be!!!
