Reviews of Magic Life Imperial Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
Magic Life Imperial Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh
A bountiful amount of facilities combined with a relaxing atmosphere make Magic Life an ideal choice for couples and families. The hotel provides a friendly atmosphere with professional service. One of the best advantages of staying at Magic Life is the direct access it has to a long stretch of sandy beach. It has a shallow area and some coral nearby (the sea can only be entered via a jetty). There are also sunbeds and umbrellas for some comfort. The resort centre is 25 km away, however all you need is within the hotel grounds. However for day trips and evenings out Naama Bay can be reached via a shuttle bus extra charge.

Anyone who complained about this hotel needs their head looking at. My partner and I have just come back from there yesterday.
We had an absolutely amazing time. The food was fantastic, the staff were fantastic, in fact everything was fantastic! We tried all of the 'A La Carte' restaurants and couldn't fault any of them.
We were concerned about eating in the main buffet and getting bored - how wrong we were. Magico was themed each and every night and so much food we couldn't believe our eyes it was so impressive and tasty.
The hotel was huge and impeccable!! Spotlessly clean the cleaners and the gardeners were always on the go, as were all the staff and such nice friendly people. They genuinely seemed to enjoy talking to and helping us.
For us the only down side was the fact that as the hotel was mainly filled with rude Russians and Germans (obviously they aren't taught manners!!) the entertainment was geared more for them than us English who were in the minority.
Our favourite bar was a quiet one called 'Eagles Lounge'. The barman, Wael William was probably one of the nicest, most helpful and most genuine people we've met.
We met quite a few Brits at the hotel, not one who had complained about anything. Not one complaint about illness or bad belly. Apparently most people get upset stomach from the money which carries a lot of germs. You're safest bet is to take some anti-bacterial cream like you find on hospital wards and use every time you touch the money.
All in all a fabulous hotel and we would definately return here and recommend to friends and family

This was our first holiday to Egypt and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was fantastic. I had no complaints at all. It was clean, excellent choice of food, friendly helpful staff and a beautiful beach. It was the best holiday I have ever had.
The excursions were excellent and well organised. I would definately take the Red Sea Cruise again and Quad Biking. Cairo was a lovely place to visit and I would definately recommend ugrading to the VIP, which is only £35 extra per person. It was well worth it. We had a Mercedes Benz with our own chauffer and our own guide who travelled with us. We were able to spend as little or as much time in each place as we wanted and the car was air conditioned - which was well needed in the heat!!
Be aware of entering the pyramids if you have a fear of small tight spaces. It is a long way down and very claustrophobic. Note that you are not allowed to take cameras into the pyramid with you.
We have booked next year at the Coral Sea Resort and I am sure we will have another fantastic time.

We have been to Egypt many times before and this was by far the best hotel we have been to. The food was superb, with lots to choose from, although too spread out. The entertainment was good, most hotels in Egypt do not have any entertainment and this was a nice change, with something for everyone. It started with a show every night and was followed by music and dancing and the entertainment staff were brilliant, getting everyone involved. BUT and a very big BUT………
I caught a stomach bug called SHIGELA FLEXNERI, probably on the last night in the Brazilian restaurant. This disease is acquired from eating contaminated food. 'Contaminated food may look and smell normal but can become contaminated by infected food handlers who forget to wash their hands with soap after using the bathroom'.. What a lovely thought!!!!!! I only ever ate in the hotel. By the time I got home I was confined to bed for ten days with violent diarrhoea, fever and abdominal pain. I lost 8lbs in 3 days and was very de hydrated and could not even get to the doctors. I had tests done and it came back as SHIGELA FLEXNERI, which is a notifiable disease and I have had to give all the details to the public health department who will be investigating but probably won’t be able to do much as I caught it abroad.
Such a shame, this is a great hotel but is obviously plagued by sickness, probably down to bad hygiene, which unfortunately you can’t see……

We are a party of 4 adults and had a really great time at Magic Life. As other people have said, we were greeted on arrival with drinks which was wonderful.
Our rooms were large and airy, overlooking the Relax Pool which was a great place to sit and read a book and was, as promised, very relaxing. No children used the Relax Pool during our 14 days.
The food was superb - we enjoyed the buffet at Magico which served anything you could want - salads, fresh fruit, cakes, pastas, all kinds of meats both barbequed and in sauces, lovely fish, Chinese, Mexican - you name it. The A la Carte options were a bit hit and miss, we enjoyed the Egyptian the best, then the Italian. Too much meat for us at the South American (have an appetite when you go here). The fish restaurant was disappointing and most guests didn't really like it.
The beach area is a little run down, new sunbeds are needed and some maintenance to the windbreaks and tables. The sand on the beach is really just the same as the desert sand and more like cat litter than the fine golden sand you often get in the Med.
The staff were really really great. Especially the waiters in Wunderbar (Ami and William) and the waiters in Magico who actually used to look out for us arriving each day and come over for a chat.
We went on the trips to the Pyramids (don't miss it - quite an experience), the Red Sea Cruise which was unforgettable and the Bedouin Night - more sitting about in cat litter drinking mint tea (which we found strange), but the stars, the telescopes and the enthusiasm of the Bedouins kind of made up for the fact it was a bit rubbish!
Only real downer on the whole holiday was that 3 out of 4 of our party went down with tummy upsets - really bad ones.
How we got this I will never know because the hotel is spotless, the food well cooked and we all washed our hands in antiseptic gel used in hospitals (our friend is a homecarer) every time we touched money or before and after food!!
Won't be going back - enjoyed it once but couldn't face being ill like that again.

Although the place is clean enough, the preparation of the food, and contamination probably from the tap water must be rife, as the number of people suffering with sickness was unprecedented.
If you want to lose weight with sickness and diarrhoea, go here. Go to Trip Advisor for some more realistic reviews of this place.
Just avoid it, is my recommendation.

We arrived after a long journey, no welcome drinks, we needed to wait 2 hours before they gave us our room, no one said why it took so long we just needed to wait in the lobby, I mean for a resort like this that's a major disappointment.
Everything was very clean, food was super, entertainment was super, and so I had 10 good days except the first day.
We stayed there from 4 September to 12 September.

The hotel was faultless; rooms were cleaned everyday to a spotless standard.
We were the only ones the on small bus they put for us, no drop offs straight there was great.
When we turned up drinks were waiting for us and once we booked in we were able to go for food which was great long day arriving there at 10.30pm
The all inclusive option was brilliant it was exactly what it said 24hrs. With regards to drinks the choice was endless they were non branded spirits mind.
The staff were kind and helpful especially the bar staff the was one or two that were
a bit off.
eg walked all way down to beach it was 9.20am needed to take 2 tablets,
asked at the pool bar for a bottle of water please when he had just handed a bottle to a fellow worker and was stocking up the fridge anyway, he said no sorry not open till 10am that’s all he had to do was hand me a bottle its not as if I asked for fanta or coke where may be the machines were not on.
I was not happy at all the fact I would have to walk all the way back up to the main bar to get one. So I walked up to the nearest restaurants which was closed by the way and asked there no problem very helpful he dashed back in came out with a chilled bottle no problem sir what was the hardship in that? Couldn’t fault him....
The tips lark did get a bit much by the end of the holiday you have to tip everyone from them carrying your cases at the hotel, to at the airport tip them to get loo role and there they can have a quite nasty attitude if you don’t, my advice take loo role with you.
Food at the hotel was good with a large selection but I was not that impressed 'a la carte' restaurants we managed to get in the Italian only to find it was the same menu as in the day only 3 things to choice from, we thought u could have anything.
Everywhere was spotless mind standards were very high
Please note I think all reviews are mainly by German guests, with some French, Belgium’s, and Russian guests. But we were the only British (welsh) there in the whole hotel during this time in July.
So night time entertainment was for them really only 1 night we went couldn’t understand, also found entertainment though out the day the same all announcements were in every language but English....
Yes had to get up early 7am run take a towel down to get sun bed by the pool before they were all gone.
It was a lot of money (£2400.00 British pounds) and we were given a double room which to me was a room with a double bed not a double room.
This came complete with a fold up camp bed pushed at the bottom of our bed for our 15 year old son where I paid full price for him so really 3 adults?
I was not happy about this as he is tall 5ft 12 and his feet were hanging over this camp bed plus it was in the way every time.
This is their standard double room I was told.
So don’t think we go back. Other than that it was great weather 39-44 oc
If you like quads do it me and my son had great day up mountains down to red sea for dinner back along the beach outstanding.
Even bought the DVD.

The hotel was faultless, rooms were cleaned everyday to a spotless standard.
When we turned up drinks were waiting for us very nice touch after a long day travelling, wide selection of food, chefs were very health conscious compared to other resorts in Egypt.
The all inclusive option was brilliant it was exactly what it said 24hrs. with regards to drinks the choice was endless they were non branded spirits they were just as good.
The staff were kind and helpful especially the bar staff ( puts England to shame to how lazy we are).
I would definitely go back again and have recommended it to friends and anyone else, that wants a relaxing and peaceful time away.
The only down side the sun goes down early in December around about 3pm.

Excellent accommodation. Extremely clean and well kept. Service at bars and also restaurant couldn't be faulted. Very quick.
Being all inclusive, amazing to find the cocktails so incredibly good.
Tennis facilities very good, five courts, two instructors, both excellent. Twice a day, two hour coaching plus for their 'tip box' - could book individual coaching.
Can be quite windy, if booked in December cold at night. Nowhere to walk to in the evening but buses 3 times a day to resort centre, 30 mins away.
Evening entertainment outside, unfortunately too cold when we were there!

Having had an excellent cruise on the Thomson Celebration the previous week, we thought the "Magic life" would be second best.
The room, which although large and clean, was let down by a lack of drawer space and poor quality wardrobes and shelving. We felt it deserved no more than 2 or 3 stars. The rest of the resort was superb.
The quality and variety of the food was outstanding, in fact the salad bar alone would provide all of the week's meals without repetition. Be either early or later for meals if wanting to dine outside. Water and all manner of other drinks could be had at any time.
Public areas were all attractive, comfortable and clean. There was no shortage of sun beds around the pool, which itself was an outstanding design. On the beach were more sun beds with individual wind breaks and brollies.
The other guests were in the main German, and probably due to the time of year, and lack of children, there were no instances of rowdy or bad behaviour. Sharm airport is worth enduring, just.

I would like there to be a higher rating than 10. This was the most fantastic resort I have ever stayed in. So clean and so friendly all the staff did the utmost to please. I was on holiday with my 2 boys who are desperate to go back. The food was of such a high standard as were the rooms. The pool was clean and although we didn’t venture onto the beach a lot it was superb also. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone whether as a couple or a family holiday..

I have just returned home from a brilliant holiday with my family at the Magic Life Imperial in Sharm El Sheikh. The hotel is situated on Naama bay and in all aspects is more a holiday village than simple Hotel.
The rooms are large and air conditioned (This is ideal as temperatures sometimes soar to the 40's). The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They are maintained by the exceptional Egyptian staff who pride themselves in making you feel welcome.
The Club really is all inclusive, drinks are served near enough 24hrs a day and are available from front entrance to the beach side bar. Bottles of Water are also available as well as a variety of snacks during the day. They have everything you could imagine, including a very generous cocktail menu (Go for the Sunbourn!).
Food from the 'Magico' Restaurant is buffet style but it really is exquisite and the choices are immense. On our 3rd day they where cutting up a 6ft long fish!
Things do to are swimming with dolphins, scuba diving amongst others. They can be organised with your Thomson’s reps. Scuba Diving costs from £30 for the day and is a must as the coral reefs of the Red Sea are packed full of exotic fish and turtles. Also the ATV tour is a good way to explore the Sinai desert.
All in all, a fantastic Holiday!

Just had 2 weeks at Magic Life, 1st to 15th May 2006, grounds wonderful, gardeners work really hard to keep it looking nice.
Room on second floor really clean, lots of room and nice balcony with view of Mountains and Relax Pool, gave us ground floor first, not good so they gave us the room we stayed in. Staff very good, food first week was good, hot and fresh, second week not much choice. Egyptian and South American A la Carte Restaurants were the best, great food and service. The holiday was spoilt by far too many unruly children running about restaurants, not safe as waiters were carrying food and dishes.
Relax pool some days was anything but, screaming toddlers and parents not bothering to look after them, would rather lay in the sun, the pool was deep and we saw some really small children without arm bands playing on the edge. There is a lovely children’s pool safe for them to play in.
The Relax Pool should be for adults only with someone there to supervise and make sure that it is as described in brochure a Relax Pool. Relax Pool Bar could do with to serve more drinks than just juice and beer, coffee would be nice. The Wunderbar was not so far away but then you were drinking from glasses, not good by a pool. The barman used to go away for long periods, then it was self service. Must admit the unruly children were mainly Russian.
The beach was ok, red flag was flying most days but lots of sun beds if needed. We did enjoy our holiday, more so as we met some nice people, a German family by the pool and Steve and Cathryn, Steve and Cat made the holiday. Not sure if we would return but the waiter etc were great.
