Holiday Inn Hotels Bibliotheque De France

Nothing to write home about. The place is clean, convenient to the new Meteor subway line that is the smoothest way to get to central Paris (Madeleine station in 12 mn. Small rooms, but complete (A/C, safe, minibar) Small breakfast but complete. Actually the hotel itself is small but complete ! Still this is the closest Holiday Inn hotel to both the Bibliothèque Francois Mitterrand, and to the new Bercy area. This was the reason why I chose this hotel, and this may be a good reason for you too !

A clean place. This hotel is located away from the tourist areas, but is a good location to the train and for the use of the bus. We didn't have any problems getting to all the other areas in Paris. Loved living among the citizens and going into the tourist areas. We didn't eat in the hotel because there were a lot of restaurants nearby. From fast food to sit down dinner. The hotel clerks were friendly but didn't know very much about other places or their locations in the city.

I am long looking for a good "base" in Paris for business trips. I am frequently in Paris on business and want to stay in the center, but not pay too much. I've tried this one and must say have been pleasantly surprised based on the previous reviews. OK the hotel is not in a touristy area but this has the advantage of being cheaper than most in Paris for this quality of rooms. We booked this hotel through Travelocity as a prepaid package. The hotel itself is very close to the metro station, and using the metro, it takes about 20-30 minutes away from the major tourist sites (Eiffel tower, Louve, etc). The room we got was on par with other hotel's we've seen. Fairly clean, and all the plumbings worked, even though there was no shower curtain and it made the bathroom floor quite wet after each shower. We got a non-smoking double, and found out the bed was two twin bed put together to form a "double" size bed.... more

This place has gotten a lot of bad press on tripadvisor and I was somewhat pleaseantly surprised. It is located on the east end of town, a little ways from most of the touristy stuff but is very close to a metro/rer station. It is in a non descript neighborhood. I had no problems with the staff (as other reviewers had). Not great, not bad. Perfectly adequate

We stayed here for three nights in November 2004. I booked it as I was trusting the Holiday Inn name, I have stayed in some fantastic ones elsewhere in Europe over the past few weeks, this is not one of the good ones. Stayed here for 2 weeks in Oct for business—thank goodness I wasn’t there on vacation! While the accommodations were clean, comfortable and the location was close to the Metro, the staff was the worst!! They were actually quite rude to us and very uncooperative... you'd think they were paying us to stay there instead us being the valued customers. Ok to stay if you don’t need anything, or have any questions of the staff. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a friendly atmosphere and ANY customer service.

My friends and I stayed here the first weekend of October for my hen weekend. This was the only hotel that could accomodate us after a bodged reservation at the hotel we had booked. The rooms were triples and had just enough space with the third bed and the shower was very good. At breakfast the staff had to go to the local boloungerie because the bread etc ran out and the hotel felt totally empty. I stayed in this hotel in May 2004. The Hotel itself is good in terms of location, safety, access to ATM, restaurants etc but Reception people are not very helpful. They added breakfast charges to my bill even though I never had breaksfast in the hotel. These charges were later removed when I questioned them. Also they never removed preauthorization from my credit card like they are supposed to when I checked out of the hotel and that made me exceed my credit limit on my credit card.

Stayed here often on business but can't imagine why you would if you were coming to Paris as a tourist. Its too far away from the main centres of interest and at night the area is dead. Rooms are smallish. Little breakfast room. Tiny bar. Staff are ok. Very difficult to get taxis to and from.
