We booked this holiday as a last minute deal for my birthday and we were pleasantly surprised with how good it was for the money. Rooms could have been improved with a bit of DIY however we didnt go to Turkey to stay in our room. The best part of the holiday was the... more

we traveled to turkey on the 18th of june this year, we were suposed to b staying at the regal but apon arriving at the airport we had been changed to the best hotel i hav ever been too!! the rexene, it was fab there was 4 of us that went there, me, my nan, my aunt ,and my wee cousin age 13, we had two double rooms betwee nus, we were beside the pool!! which ment we were handy to every thing!! we all enjoyed it!! even my nan n she was dreading goin to turkey, now she wants to return and states!!! 'i wouldnt hav missed it for the world!! ' the food was great, so much to choose from, main resuaraunt was preety basic but loads to choose from breakfast there was pancakes and ommelletes being made outside, and whole range inside from, warm breakfast to cereal, breads yogurts ect, lunch was a range of salads , hot and cold dishes dinner was the same as above!! there was always chips or wedges, pasta, rice, fish, chicken, ect so even the kids had plenty da choose from!! deserts were lovely rangeing from triffles to chocolate cakes ect fruit was also on offer at every meal time!! the only thing that was sadly missing from this all inclusive was icecream! there was also 2 al a carte restauraunts one was a turkish kebab resauraunt and the other was a fish restaurant but it also had beef and chicken on offer!! and you must book 1-2 days before at the guest relations desk!! both should be experienced, there great ! the downside is there is soo many courses!!! that was a joke however each of the alacarte restaurants serve around 6-7 courses each!!, all included in the price, it was my birthday while i was there and they even made me a cake although i was very embarrased due to the whole restaurant singing to me!! it tasted delicious!! canoes and pedloes, tabble tennis, sauna, gym, and also mini golf are all included in the price!! there is even hammocks to swing in!! the entertainment was the best ive ever experienced, eg; cocktail nights, bbqs, beach party, pool games, pool dance, blues brothers nights, comedy night, grease night, and we were sadly only there 4 a week!!! and some of the entertainment team are very very hot!!! they included every1, which was a big bonus!! the guest relations team are very helpful, they hav games eg, monopoly chess, cards etc which u borrow from them and then return, alot more games to which i forget the names off!! lol the drink is great too, all mixers are branded, coke, fanta sprite even shweppes tonic and soda water!! cocktails are not included in the all inclusive but can b purchased for around 4euros sometimes even buy 1 get one free! sex on the beach, vodka redbull ect! ice lollies by the pool between 4+5 for the kiddies and also cookie time betwwen 5+6 which is tea, coffee, cakes, wee sweet dough balls, biscuits etc!! this hotel is right beside the beach and the beds are also out on the jettys for you to bathe in the sun down ther!! sunbeds are made of huge coushions, and you also get a huge pillow between two beds!! i honestly did not hav any complaints at all about the rexene, and neither did anyone i our party, the staff are extremly helpful and not at all rude, i hope this will help some of you!! and if any more info is needed, please dnt hesitate to ask!!! we loved this hotel so much that i am returning in october with my friend for TWO WEEKS this time!! i really cant wait!!!! i loved rexene!!!!!!!!!!!
What a nightmare!!!
This hotel is probably the worst I have ever stayed at. The reception is a porta-cabin, although the reception staff were polite. Our rooms - where do I start. On arrival on the porters trolley I saw our rooms were propped open by a chair, upon closer inspection I realised this was due to the terrible smell from the room. It smelt like sewage. The room was the size of s small bathroom, with two small twin beds, covered in beige sheets - a bit like camp beds. There were no wardrobes or cupboards and the toilet and shower area was directly off the room - no bigger than my toilet at home. The room had carpet that stunk!!! When we complained ( we had booked a 5* hotel that had not been finished building and had been moved here in it's place) they showed us their best room. This was looking over the sea, but no better. The pictures we had with us ( taken from their website) were of lovely hotel rooms, modern, and clean. We showed them these pictures, and they said these rooms did not exist. Clearly their website is a made up load of rubbish. We went to eat - whislt we waited for the rep to come. The food was very basic, hot food not covered and choice very limited. After hours and hours of arguments with the rep we were finally moved to a better hote. I would not recomment this hotel to anyone.
Sing 'I love Rexene'
What a fantastic resort. Everyone else on our minibus back to airport was complaining about their hotels, and we had nothing to complain about!! Rooms were spotless (apart from the ants!!), cleaned every day, and new towels daily. Pool was fantastic, and the sun loungers very comfy. Make sure u go down early though cos tons of people (German!!???) had their towels on them even before breakfast!! Beach is very narrow but does the job. Food was great, what a choice!! Unbelievable. Great selection and variety every day. You must have a pancake or omlette for breakfast!! Lovely! There is an a la carte restaurant (Kebapche) on resort for kebabs couldnt get reservation as fully booked, so be warned, book early. Not many Brits at resort which was a nice change too. Plenty activities available wi animations team. Gumbet itself was fantastic. You have to go to China town to eat and drink. Amazing food (huge portions!) and delicious cocktails. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. In fact, everyone in Turkey was. Go for a Turkish bath (but not at Rexene as way to expensive!!). Bit freaky having a big Turkish man washing you, and massaging you, bit sore but worth it. and you feel amazingly clean afterwards. The massages on offer are good too, pretty reasonable. Def recommend Rexene. Much nicer than lots of others in area. And you must go to China town!! enjoY!
We can't wait to go back!
We should have gone to another hotel instead but switched to this one last minute and we are very glad we did. It is the nicest resort we have ever stayed at, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, there were several different resturants and cafes to choose from, the setting was gorgeous, Gumbet is about a 10 minute walk away, the local bus stop is outside the entrance, which will take you to Gumbet or Bodrum very cheaply. It is quite hilly but we had a baby in a buggy and we found it ok, you can ask for the club car to take you up and down the hill, guest relations are very helpful. The Turkish were very friendly and love babies and children we are going back next year!
Oh my God
i really enjoyed my stay in this great hotel you have to experience the palace of utter joy as soon as possible. :) i love you selin
The Truth about Barcelo Rexene
As this was our first holiday in Turkey i tried to find out as much as i could before we went, as you do! Unfortunatley there is a bit we had to learn the hard way. The main gripe i have is the fact that the Turks have an issue with giving chance, when you do get change is is mixed with Lira, Euro's and Stirling. The shop on site was my first experience of being fleeced big time. I gave a 10 Lira note (approx 4.42GBP @ the time) for a news paper and a bottle of water and he would not give me the change. There are no prices on anything, its all made up, different for the English, Germans, Russians etc.. The facilities are not quite as described. The Gym is a store room for old battered sunbeds and sun shades! The tennis court/football pitch was nowhere to be found! Although There are canoes as described and provided me with hours of relaxation in the sea at the end of a very well set/built jety. The pool area and beach (small stoney) was great. The Entertainment was quite limited, althogh they do try hard they just cant quite get the timing right for anything! A great buch though! (music played at mega levels till realy late) The restaurant was always kept clean and the waiting staff were promt (cleaning only) It is a self service restaurant and you will need to have your wits about you here, Dont leave your table unattended to fetch food as when you get back it will be occupied by another family!! We both had bad tummys towards the end of the week although we are putting this down to water rather than the food. They do keep a regular check/replacment rota on the food to make sure it ain't getting cold! It did seem to get blander towards the end of the week and we did eat out in Bodrum & Gumbert on the last few nights. The bar is a bit of a wind up. There is only ever 1 bar at a time open (out of 3) with 1 bar man serving. Making big Q's! If you want a soft drink it comes in tiny disposable cups, so it is really rationed. The local beer is ok, The splirits will never take you over the limit though! & the glasses were not the cleanest. Be warned about the shop keepers and their stock. It is the same in all of the shops. We were told by folk before we went that the immitation goods are great and priced well. Well, to be honest, some of the trainers are ok but the rest of it is real tat. NEVER EVER pay the asking price if you do decide to buy. The first price they give is always over double of what they really will take.
we loved it!
we loved it at rexene, our holiday was brilliant. the hotel was clean and well maintained, the hotel staff were very nice and very helpfull but it has to be said thay ozzy, linda, sedat, jakup, tolga+vulcan(animation team 2005)made our holiday brilliant they were always friendly and were always entertaining both adults and children i think they work very hard and should be more apretiated, hope there thier next year cos we will be.
brilliant
we realy enjoyed this holiday the hotel was brilliant and the animation team were absolutly great couldn't fault them,we will be returning next year.thanks paula
Fantastic
I stayed here with my family for two weeks all inclusive and it was the best value for money i've ever had. The food was delicious, being a mix of traditional turkish and english (if you're boring). The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly and very good security. Daytime entertainment was good but sadly the evening shows were awful. Children are kept very well occupied, which was good seeing as though there isn't an official kids club, but they were encouraged to join in lots of activities. I would definately highly recommend this hotel
