I really enjoyed my stay in Barcelo La Galea.
I only had 2 complaints.
Number one I felt it was very catered towards the all inclusive guests.
If you wanted to purchase anything from the on site bar you had to give your room number and pay at reception or be billed at the end of your holiday which i felt was quiet unwelcoming.
My second and last complaint was in the pool especially if you have young children you were not aloud any lilo's, rubber rings, balls etc.
Other than that i felt it was an extremely enjoyable holiday.
I would recommend the irish bailey for evening drinks and hennesy's for a cheap, good breakfast.
I would also recommend saxo's and dreams for teenagers oor young adults.
It was both and fun filled times.

I defiantly would recommend this hotel to people as I think it is the nicest hotel you will ever be in. I have been going to this hotel for around ten years and the thing that makes you come back every year is the staff. They are brilliant, they connect well with the guests and will always go out of their way to help or please you; especially Alli, Salek and Yesalim (Head waiter). This hotel is perfect for families with young children as there is a park beside the kiddies club. The entertainers who run the kiddies club are great it means you can drop youre kids off there while you get peace and quite! There is also activities for older children/adults, they can play pool, table tennis, the Wii, darts, shuffle board and much more so your guaranteed you will never be board. The rooms are always clean and you get fresh towels daily. The food is great as there is always a wide variety to choose from so there will always be something for everyone. If you're eating out I suggest that you try Casa Blanca you get a great meal every time you go. It's just out in the square so its less than a two minutes walk. Also if your in the mood some night for good pub grub I suggest Hennessy's which is just beside the Playa De Cucharas beach. The man who owns it, Richard, Is very friendly and welcomes everyone. They serve food such as: curry, burgers, chicken wings, etc.

the staff were very freindly esp alli & salek, food was plentyful and a good varitey, and selfserve drinks, plenty of sun loungers but you had to put your towels down and some times people didnt even go to the pool.apart from that costa teguise was lovely to stay and not to busy. Went to the Oasis Park in Fuetuventura lovely scenary on the way, unfortunately the bus broke down coming off the ferry and we were told 20 min wait but turned out to be 2 hours, we arrived at the park at 12:30 instead of 10:30 12 of us out of 80 people, from 3 different families refused to pay full price as we missed 2 shows and the majority of our day was wasted, we had already payed 36 euros deposit and was expected to pay the remainder amount of 84 euros even though we missed most of the day, the park refused to reduce the payment and our tour guide frankee left all 12 of us outside including 6 kids until 5:00pm, we didn't know what we was going to do during the 5 hour wait but it wasn't all bad we went on the camel safari which was great for the money and the 12 of us enjoyed it and was told by the rest of the bus that they had wasted there money as they couldnt see the shows properly anyway and didn't get to go on the camel safari which was fab!!
- Advice: costa teguise was lovely but travelled to puerto del carmen and it was alot busy

just returned from a week all inclusive with 2 small children. Mixed thoughts about the hotel and Lanzorote in general.
Good points :- had an appartment room which was large with full bathroom and kitchenette ideal to keep babies milk cool. Staff VERY friendly and good with the kids.
loads of high chairs in restuarant.
Close to beaches with excellent snorkling.
Good breakfasts even though some food seemed to be recycled esp sausages!
Bad points - We Got robbed on the last night. must have climbed into our 3rd floor room with balcony onto the street so keep your money safe and spread it about. took ALL our cash and sony PSP. More worrying toddler was asleep in the same room. Madeline McCann springs to mind!
Pool bar food was poor, cold and undercooked.
Pools were VERY cold, my little boy would shiver for about 30mins after so take baby wetsuits.
Little for kids to drink except fizzy pop, no access to juice or water at lunch or dinner.
No pic nicks for day trips or even early breakfasts.
Any trips you want to take decide upon when you want to go ASAP after your arrival because they dont run every day and you may loose out eg trip to oasis park in feurtaventura doesnt run on weekends! Seems all tour companies charge the same price and no bartering.
Teguise market on Sundays def worth a visit. Good place to practice driving on the wrong side of the road, residents very forgiving! LOL! Book your hire car before you leave the UK its much cheaper. We used Plus car and they met us at the airport etc. No hassle at all just take your driving licences. No extra charge for 2 drivers or baby seats. Cost us 85E for the week (Fiat Panda with a/c fitted 2 cases, 3 bags and 2 pushchairs in) and the airport transfers would have been 40E so works out very cheap.
- Advice: Becareful you dont get robbed in your room

Very basic hotel without much comfort, BUT
1) Excellent location: by the beach in a very nice resort, perfect for families with children: lots of palygrounds, beautiful promenades along the sea, bike rental available.. and only 20 min from the airport (40 Euros return transfer booked through hotel).
2) Spacious apartment with 1 bedroom: good not to sleep with the kids
3) Good quality entertainment at the hotel with minidisco for kids, sort of a miniclub not well lead but kept our 6 years old busy
4) Little sandy playground by the pool
5)Friendly staff
- Advice: Windy and a bit chilly the first week. Loved it, would go again, same hotel but with fitted bedsheet

Have jsut returned, hotel was great - very central, 2 mins from the square, near shops & pubs, We stayed 1/2 board and found the fridge in the room excellent for keeping the wine cool. Beautiful view from balcony overlooking ocean (room 311) staff very helpful. Food good variety. -Rooms could do with a lick of paint but kept clean, beds were comfy - overall suited us fine.

I was recommended to stay in these appartments by first choice after asking for advise, they told me it was a lovely resort, giving you the spanish feel, very popular appartments, with all amenities and beach close by, gorgeous weather etc etc ...... We went as a party of 18, 12 adults and 6 children 4 of which between the age of 3yr and 1yr. When we arrived at the airport there was no rep to meet us so we had to walk around and hang about for our coach for an hour, on arrival at the appartments only 2 rooms out of 6 were ready so we had to once again hang around for it to be cleaned with our suit cases, so we missed the first day of our holiday! When we eventually got our room keys, slowly 1 at a time the rooms all smelt of wee, in a few of the appartments the self catering facilities didnt work i.e toaster, fridge in an other television in ours and never got fixed as much as we complained! The maid service was very poor my balcony was only cleaned once and the sheets were rarly changed so where very uncomfy at night, one night the maids tok away my little girls sheets and my babies out of her cot and werent replaced so we all slept in bed together as when we complained was just told they couldnt do anything till the morning? outside at the poolside 4 of our party cut their feet on glass, this was reported each time and we were told we must all wear shoes and thats it? There was a childs play area, sandpit slide etc and after being there for a few days we realised it was full of cats poo and this was after one of our children got it on their feet? One of the pools is supposed to be heated and wasnt in actual fact they were all freezing so the children hardly went in. Now about the resort itself, it was very english only 1 spanish restaurant all the rest were mostly chinese, English, mexican, all English people working there, so was just like Blackpool, The island is well known for being really windy and it was definetly that so much so you couldnt go on the beach sometimes the only thing they did get right is that the ammenities were very close but it was just rubbish and very expensive at the moment with the credit crisis?
- Advice: For people who want a holiday that reminds them of England.

Costa Teguise in May was nice and relaxing with good weather, a little quite at night for young people. The hotel was great in terms of location, 2 mins from great beach. Theres a bar called Waterfront facing beach 2 secs from hotel back entrance, great value and excellent food, does a delicious breakfast and sunday dinner, staff really friendly! We went all-inclusive at this hotel which I WOULD NOT recommend as the food is never hot unless you catch it as soon as it goes out! and they put out the same stuff over and over! (pork) leaves a lot to be desired! Entertainment at the hotel is a load of rubbish although the poor staff do put the hours in! The accomodation was basic but clean the maids did a good job, we only saw 2 cockroaches in our room which cant really be helped in that climate! Overall this holiday was good value for money and very relaxing, I would recommend it for a nice peaceful break, in May anyway! But definately go self-catering as the resturants in resort are much nicer than the HOTEL food!OH one last thing the pools in the hotel are freezing!! the sea is much warmer, not sure why? If you are going haer dont worry its not all bad!

Having read some of the reviews on the site i was quite nervous about the holiday HOWEVER we (myself, husband and 2 year old daughter) had a really goos holiday, the apartments are as close to the sea as you could wish for,the beach was clean and safe for our little girl to paddle and build sandcastles, all the nearby restaurants and pubs were very good food for reasonable prices. Local supermarkets had a good choice of stuff for our breakfasts and the people both in and around the apartments were lovely and helpful whenever we approached them.
Go with an open mind and you won't be disappointed.

I am 19. This was my first holiday abroad without my parents. and i loved every single minute of it. the hotel was fantastic, i expected bugs having a nightly party around the kitchen and bathroom area but i didnt see one my entire stay ! a very clean hotel and the staff were very friendly, they even took my door handle off when i locked the keys inside my apartment (young lads mistake). we were situated above the restaurant, so there was some scraping of chairs during meal times, but nothing that would drive you to madness. the balcony was great, clean and caught plenty of sun and the kitchen utilities worked perfectly. a great hotel in all...

Just returned from this hotel after 2 weeks all inclusive. Hotel itself is OK but needs decorating as rooms were very tired looking. Restaurant was good and the food was excellent with lots of variety.
Lunch was a little late (1.30 pm) which is to be expected in a Spanish resort. There was no facility for packed lunch if you were out for the day which seems unfair if you have already paid for all inclusive.
No queues for the restaurant or bar which was a pleasant change from other hotels we have stayed at. However the downside of this is that the entertainment in the Show Bar was abysmal. The children were well entertained with a mini disco. The entertainment for adults was very poor and with children still running around the bar till almost midnight most adults left to find somewhere else to go. Maybe another smaller bar, separate from the main bar, would be a good idea. Adults could then go and have a quiet drink and a chat without the noise of the mini disco. Just a suggestion.
As other reviewers have said you had to be up with the lark to get a sunbed around the pool area so we didn't bother. We prefered to go to the beach and cough up 9Euros a day for 2 sunbeds on a lovely quiet beach.
Overall the hotel offers good value for money, is right on the beach (which was great for us if a little expensive at 9Euros a day for sunbeds).
