I have just stayed here whilst on a course for work; this is my first review so here goes. I have to say, I was a little nervous this being the first 5 star hotel I have stayed in and I was not exactly dressed to impress with my jeans on and suitcase scrapping along the... more

Sep 2007, Miss H Riches

For my birthday my boyfriend took me to London where we spent two nights at the Waldorf Hilton. It was lovely and met all my expectations. We were staying on a bed and breakfast basis with one free dinner included in the gorgeous restaurant. Being literally 2 minutes walk... more

Fantastic location, just a couple of minutes' walk from Covent Garden, in the heart of "theatre land". Also close to Temple Church and about ten minutes' walk from Trafalgar Square and the London Eye. I didn't get a tube or bus all weekend as there was plenty to do within... more

Very Nice
This was my second stay at the Waldorf Hilton, both via Priceline. The first was in Oct 2004. So - so room with Really Squeaky Floors. So Squeaky that it became a joke. Great bed, linens, bathroom and lots of water pressure. Tea service, robes, safe, plasma TV. All in all a very nice stay. At that time they had only 1 elevator operating and construction in the lobby and there were waits. This April 2005 things were better. Three elevators, so no waiting. Room toward the back with no squeaks. Again, really great bed and linens.... more
smart stay
Had read previous reviews of frosted glass bathrooms & was pleasantly surprised. The glass door was nowhere near as bad as earlier review suggested: the bathroom was large, had both bath and shower and the toilet was well hidden !! The glass door was far better fitting that many wooden ones in other London hotels so don't get hung up about it or let this deter you from staying in this excellent hotel. It's convenient for lots of places we wanted to go - Royal Festival Hall 10 mins walk via Waterloo Bridge, Trafalgar Square 10 mins via... more
Not quite up to snuff
What was great: 1. excellent bed and linens (both bed and bath) 2. a fridge and microwave in the room 3. the location is fabulous, bus line 11 stops right in front and the tube is just minutes away. Hotel is located between two theatres, near Covent Garden. 4. room size was fine, not large nor were there separate sitting areas or hallways in my room (723) 5. good sized bathroom with plenty of towels but the only Moulton Brown amenity was soap. What was not: 1. I arrived at 1130 and was told there were no... more
Very Nice Hotel near Covent Garden
I stayed at the Waldorf Hilton for 6 nights the last week of March 2005. I used Hilton Points for the stay, being a Diamond member I think I received a better than average room. You walked in and there was a sitting room with a chair a sleeper loveseat and a plasma TV. The bedroom contained a king bed and another Plasma TV. Both rooms had very modern identical chandliers. The bathroom was very large, it had a frosted glass door but was reached by a short L shaped hallway, so there was complete privacy. The room contained a safe and small... more
Poor Service
Stayed for one night in March 2005. Rooms were too modern for my taste with no separate bathroom (but that's my opinion and not a reflection of the hotel). Even though we booked a double for two people the room was only made up for one i.e. one bathrobe, set of toiletries, no complementary water etc. Asked the front desk for some tea bags (only one in room!) and coffee was sent up. Had to ask again for tea. Bar is very small and so we had (very expensive even for London standards) drinks in the Lobby bar which lacked atmosphere.<br... more
Nice but not perfect
We stayed at the Waldorf Hilton over the Easter weekend, 2005. The location is excellent - close to some of the West End's best shows, and with reasonable public transport connections. Staff was very friendly - almost too helpful. Room was a good size, based on previous London hotel experience. We stayed up on the seventh floor at the back of the hotel, and things were quiet, except the floor boards. Money had been spent on installing a new floor by the door, and leading into the bathroom, but the rest of the floor creaked. The fridge... more
Very nice!
Very nice hotel. The rooms are lovely. Excellent location within the theatre district and walking distance of Trafulgar, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. Would recommend to anyone. The only draw back was the check in lady messed up our check in and spoke at 1000mph!!
Great deal and great hotel
The Waldorf underwent a £24 million renovation in summer of 2004. We stayed there in March 05 for 3 nights. We were speechless when we entered our room (#242). We were greeted by a ?sculpture/coat rack object just inside our door. The room was huge for being in central London. It has a large work desk, complete with nice touches such as US & Europe electrical outlets and US cable port (for computers). The bathroom is a frosted-glass bathroom. There is also a heated towel rack as well. Bathroom amenities are provided by Molton Brown.... more
Great Value!
We got this hotel for only 50 GBP a night. What a great deal! We book this through priceline. We stayed here from March 4-6, 2005. The hotel has a very modern atmosphere. I think the renovations were complete except for an elevator. The room we stayed in was small but was new and clean. The bathroom had a frosted door but it still gave the person inside privacy. There was a reviewer that mentioned something about the flushing of the toilet that took so long. There's nothing wrong with the flushing, you just need to flush it hard.... more
Good hotel, but not five star
We stayed there for a weekend in Feb 2005. Brilliant location near the strand. Staff v friendly - but they do expect a tip. Great decor and bar. Was given an upgrade to a deluxe queen just for asking. £99 through (---). Rooms were, erm, interesting, and quite good with flat screens, fab shower, choccies etc, but I expected more from a five star - eg no minibar, coffee for only 2 cups, only one robe and slippers, despite a 2-person room. Overall we enjoyed it - APART FROM THE BATHROOM DOOR! It is ridiculous - you CAN see through the frosted... more
