Great location, shabby bedrooms
from A TripAdvisor Member
Having read the reviews here I had high hopes for the Millennium Baileys but was rather disappointed. The location is fantastic and the public reception rooms impressive (although the bar service was slow). However, the bedroom we were allocated was in need of refurbishment and was frankly rather shabby. Admittedly, 85 quid is a very reasonable rate for a Saturday night in Central London and it was fine as an overnighter but I had expected more from Millennium. I would stay here again purely for the location but cross my fingers for a...

Okay, But Too Many Shortcomings For Me
from MalibuJetsetter
My wife and I stayed here based on the recommendation of a friend. I'll keep that in mind next time he recommends something. Actually, it's not his fault. The quality of the rooms at the Bailey's is highly inconsistent. Ours ranked of smoke (we're non-smokers and they knew it) and that's enough to keep me out of the Bailey's ever again. The view out of the window was ugly enough for us to keep the curtains permanently drawn. The bathroom fixtures would confuse a world-class plumber. We couldn't figure out how to turn off the water, and often...

Second Visit... Still Worth The Trip!
from KevinMcQ
I stayed at the Millennium Bailey’s over the first weekend in December 2004, during a quick visit to the UK. I had previously stayed at this hotel about three years ago (2001), and little had changed. For the price (about $210 per night), the accommodations and service were acceptable. The hotel’s location across the street from the Gloucester Road subway station provided easy access to all Central London trains, as well as to Heathrow Airport. And the food in the hotel’s restaurant (Olive’s), at least for dinner, was quite good....

Good, reliable hotel
from mfhstid
This is a decent quality four-star. The location is good, with ready access to South Kensington's stellar sites. It's directly opposite a tube station, and the area makes for a good base. The hotel itself is a pretty standard four-star offering. The rooms are comfortable and clean, if on the small-ish side (although that's pretty much standard for London). All in all, a worthwhile booking if you can snaffle one of the many deals on offer: I paid about £50 for a Sunday night stay, including taxes but not breakfast, via...

Great Location & Very Clean Rooms
from VA_Fitz
We stayed at the Millennium Baily's Hotel in October 2004. The location was perfect, right across the street from the tube station. We had asked for a non-smoking room, but since we checked in at midnight there were none left. The concierge told us we would be able to change rooms in the morning. The next morning we were immediately given a non-smoking room, which turned out to be much bigger and nicer than our original room. The staff was very accomodating. I wouldn't really call it a 4 star hotel though it's in need of an update, but...

Very Enjoyable stay
from Captain_Keithy
Stayed in September 04 and found the hotel very nice. Room was good though not much of a view, restaurant was ok - though breakfast was expensive (we recommend Deanos just across the road as an much cheaper alternative). Very impressed with the waiters who spotted an intruder to the restaurant just as he was about to steal my partners bag apparantly. Bar area good and quick service. Good central location with easy access to central London via tube etc.
Good Stay at Bailey's
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at Bailey's from 7 November to 11 November. We had a very pleasant stay. I read all the other reviews of this hotel so for the most part I knew what to expect. We were not disappointed and there were no unpleasant surprises. Our room was larger than I expected and I was impressed by the size of the bathroom. There was plenty of hot water and the bath towels were larger than most. I thought Bailey's was very, very charming and the staff was friendly. We asked for a wake up call one morning and not only did they call our room...

Palatial, and great value!
from N0MAD
We discovered this hotel while we were staying in a cruddy backpacker place nearby, and were looking for a restaurant. The food at Olive's was wonderful, and the fixed menu price quite reasonable. The next day, we checked out of the hostel and went looking on lastminute for somewhere better to stay. Delighted to find a vacancy at the Bailey for little more than we were paying for the backpacker hostel, we checked in, and liked it so much we decided to extend our stay in London by another day. The staff were friendly and helpful even...

Good stay
from Groezinger
I stayed in the Millenium Bailey's in August 2004 for four days. I have a small single bed room - but well equipped and very clean. The service was good, the air condition a little bit weak. I had no breakfast in the hotel. There are many good breakfast stores just outside of the hotel.
Nice hotel, bad A/C
from A TripAdvisor Member
Overall, the hotel was nice and clean with very good service. If you're getting b-fast included, I would avoid the full breakfast and go for the continental. My only complaint is that (like a previous reviewer) we had problems with our A/C. In the end they upgraded us to much larger "club room", but before this we had to move rooms 3 times, once at 2:00 am. If not for the AC problem, would have given it a 4. I think this would be a great place to stay when the weather is cooler, but would probably avoid it during the hot summer months.
