Brilliant! Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week in July... arrived at 3pm and headed straight out to the pool, too late for food but we were able to have 'snacks' at the poolside bar, burgers, hot dogs, or sandwiches, and free drinks all day long!
Food was very good, lots of salads, meat, fish, vegetables, and a different 'theme' every night, one night was oriental and we had crispy duck which was lovely!
The hotel was in a good location, at the top of a hill, you could walk down to the beach which takes about 15 minutes, and there was also a bus which travelled up and down, we didn't actually get this as was a fair walk!
Two nice pools, one which was supposed to be an 'adult' pool, although the british tourists seemed to ignore this and take their kids there! The other which was very big, lots of sun loungers and the poolside bar.
The hotel itself was really nice, a lot better then we both expected I think! The rooms were fairly simple with ensuite and kitchen facilities (hob, kettle, fridge) although we didn't use these as we were all inclusive.
There was a cabaret every night, with various acts, and a nice big bar with sofas and tables, and an outside balcony. This resort would not be ideal if you want to go out every night, as quite far from the main towns, but ideal for us as we just wanted to sit around and relax! The bar was open till about 1am every night, with music after the cabaret shows.
A must visit is La Amarases beach, which is man-made, and was like a little Caribbean beach, very beautiful!
Overall we had a brilliant holiday and would definitely return to both Gran Canaria and The Mogan Princess!

We arrived at 6.30 in the morning and as we were the last to be dropped off etc, we weren’t in the best moods.
We got our keys and all inclusive bands and went to find our room. Rooms Very easy to find as long as you have common sense and our room was spotless. Every room with a sea view we could leave the patio open at night and listen to the waves and we didn’t see 1 bug or fly!
1st morning was brilliant as was every other, Breakfast was good. Then we went down to the pool, there was loads of sun loungers etc and the staff at the pool bar were brilliant and served snacks and beer etc. The snacks weren’t allowed between certain times as lunch was being served in the restaurant but this did make sense.
There were very good selections of food and drink and all the staff were on top form as well. Weather was awesome and with the view even better. The pool is located above a road and we though uh oh, but we forgot it was there. All inclusive stopped at 11pm so make sure you get your money’s worth.
The local fishing village was really nice, we went for a nice meal and also for the market, to be honest the market wasn’t great but everything else was. If you are offered a sunset cruise and a meal very much recommend it. Stunning sunsets and good food etc. We also went to hard rock and watched a top band.
All in all a top week and I would recommend to anyone. In the high season may be not as nice but still very good.
Hope you enjoy holiday as much as we did, Loren & Steve

First impressions, impressed by the 2 bathrooms and spacious set up of the interconnecting rooms, good holiday overall.
Food plenty of choice etc, excellent hotel animation team for the little ones (and older children/adults if they want to join in).
Downside, felt that being all inclusive resulted in being treated second class, i.e. we spent a lot of time with a family on half board and when they entered the restaurant (paying for the drinks) waiters where very attentive, if all inclusive I was convinced they were on some kind of bonus to avoid serving you.
Round the pool much of the same, ran out of Ice-cream for the children and hotdogs, until I complained then suddenly they materialized.
Overall good holiday, wish we had gone half board and then it would have been rated 8 or 9.

We have just arrived back from a week half board at the Mogan Princess in Taurito.
This hotel is superb, food is good and the staff are very polite and helpful.
The hotel is set perfectly in the side of a mountain and the rooms are clean and airy.
We were on the top floor of the top block and the view was brilliant, there is a lot of steps but the lifts are always working and there is also slopes everywhere.
If you are bad on walking this hotel is not for you.
The beach is quite a walk as the road upto the hotel is steep; the beach itself is lovely, not much to do on an evening the entertainment in the hotel was good.
We hired a car for the week and went to Puerto De Mogan, Puerto Rico etc.
I can't fault the holiday at all.
If you want a nice quiet week in the sun then this place is perfect (weather 30 degrees).

I went to this hotel with some trepidation, I booked my holiday and then went on the internet and read the reviews, a foolish way round to do it, but that's what happened.
We arrived at the hotel and were met by friendly receptionists and were given directions to our room, I half expected to get lost and we did, we were helped by another guest.
Our room was on the 4th level and the views were fantastic, room spotlessly clean and very spacious.
The meals were excellent, not as I expected them to be from the reviews, plenty of choice, well presented and staff very friendly nothing too much trouble for them.
The pool area was excellent, clean and plenty of room, not sure what it would be like in the height of the season. We found the courtesy bus service very reliable arrived and departed on time and the driver was very friendly.
Hotel was a little remote and for anyone with walking difficulties it would prove to be a problem due to steep hill up to hotel, apart from that facilities were excellent, staff friendly and a good variety of entertainment both during the day i.e.: pool activities and in the evening in the lounge area.
There are two pools one for the more active and a quiet pool for the more sedate client. Overall excellent holiday, good value for money, a cut above usual holiday hotels.

My family and I have visited the Mogan Princess twice. In 2004 and 2005.
Both times we have visited we have been given prime locations, all of the staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Our suite in 2004 was spotless, but in 2005 it had declined a little bit especially in shower areas - silicone etc. The television was limited for the English only 3 channels lots for Germans.
Both pools are lovely and clean. The restaurant is a very high standard, but the food becomes repetitive after the first week.
On the evening the entertainment was the worst entertainment we have ever encountered, but during the day the entertainment is not too bad.
This hotel is in a remote location and we recommend that you should hire a car, so you can visit other beaches etc, because the beach below is black sand, it's nice and quiet with jet ski's and some restaurants etc.
There is a lido area below for swimming, this costs 15 euros, mini golf etc.
In 2006 we went somewhere else and were disappointed so in 2007 we will be going back to the Mogan Princess in the summer!

The Hotel is in a hillside position which is not ideal for the less able or children as the climb up the hill was not only exhausting but unsafe as well.
Although the hotel is attractive it lacked an atmosphere and the resort of Playa Taurito does not have much to offer. Anyone holidaying in Gran Canaria are better of staying in Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles where there is more going on.
The food itself was average for this type of holiday, but the brochure is misleading in awarding the hotel (Marque of Excellence). The positive things about the hotel was that it had great views.

Hotel was spotlessly clean and some of the staff were friendly and some were not. They were always busy and the service in the dining area was very good. The food was fine and plenty of it but it was always the same.
You have to take the lifts everywhere but they were fast and efficient. There is a little shop that sells papers and books, sweets and things which was handy. There is a bus from the hotel to Mogan and Puerto Rico every day and I would recommend this as there is not much to do at the hotel. Take your drivers license if you can and hire a car at the hotel and get out into the country!
The entertainment was awful in the evening - I have seen and heard better karaoke! The road up to the hotel is a bit rough and not for the fainthearted. The hotel is right next to a busy road which you can't see as it is lower than the building but if you are poolside you really notice it especially on the weekend, when everyone seems to be out riding their motorbikes!
There are some new hotels being built opposite and a very run down place next to this hotel and the hotel adjacent had loud music until late at night.
We did enjoy ourselves but would not return to this hotel. There are two other Princess Hotels nearby and these looked nicer and nearer to the beach.

A fantastic hotel, rooms were large and spick and span, loved the separate shower in the large bathroom and the balcony with the sea view was breathtaking. The food was good and plenty of it although the restaurant gets busy from 7.30 onwards, we went down for breakfast at 9.45 and dinner at 7 and found this not too bad.
The maid came every day to clean the room and change the towels, you were even given a large beach/pool towel, these weren’t changed but for 1 euro you could change them at the desk. They tell you not to hang the towels over the balcony, and later in the week i found out why, we had been to the beach and hung our towels over the balcony, the rooms are staggered so all the sand blew off the towels and all over the balcony below prompting me to run down and clean the balcony.
The stair and lift system is mind boggling. When you arrive they send you the easiest route to travel with your suitcases, this isn’t necessarily the quickest. You will find once you are there a short while the quickest route to the reception and pool etc. They do give you a map.
The wee shop is a bit expensive what we did was get the free courtesy bus to the other princess hotel at the bottom of the hill (only the very brave walked this as it is rather steep) went to the beach, went into the hotel (which you can use as its part of the princess chain) for lunch and to use the pool then went to the spar shop, to get supplies of crisps, juice, beer etc, then its a 5 min walk to the taxi rank and 3 euros back to the hotel, or else wait for the courtesy bus. Just one example was a large pack of crisps in our hotel shop was 3 euros and in the spar it was 2 euros. So well worth the 3 euros if your buying a few things.
The drink in the hotel was a bit expensive but there is a small time share hotel just down the hill a wee bit that is a bit cheaper.
All over a very clean hotel and worth the 4 star rating.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel for a week and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent with plenty choice and staff were very efficient with their service. The rooms were cleaned daily and had magnificent views over the Atlantic Ocean. We booked three weeks before arrival and received a suite which slept 2-4 people, this was huge considering there was only myself and my husband, and it had a separate lounge and sleeping area plus two bathrooms and two balconies.
The hotel lay on courtesy buses to Puerto Mogan and Puerto Rico but could have had them running more regularly especially on a Friday when it is market day in Puerto Mogan and everyone is trying to get on the one and only bus available, we gave up and shared a taxi with another couple.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired and it is certainly not a hotel to bring children to as there is nothing to do after 9pm. There is a mini disco for kids but it is the same songs and dances every night of the week, even the kids knew what was coming next.
It was a nice relaxing holiday but at the end of the day there was not much else to do but relax.

This hotel is very isolated hence the need for all inclusive! We stayed at this hotel for a week with our two boys aged 7 and 10 and a week was long enough. The staff are not particularly friendly and do not appear to have much of a liking for the English.
The food was not that good and was very repetitive. There was nowhere to go at nighttime unless you wanted to wait an hour for a taxi. We did attempt to use the courtesy bus from the hotel! But this was a total waste of time. Hotel okay if you like staying put and do not want to venture out of the hotel grounds.
Any future visitors please remember to take a torch if you do want to venture out and watch out for all the potholes on the road which is not yet finished. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The bar closes early (11pm for all inclusive) and all other entertainment! Finishes at 12 (all right for early birds).

The accommodation was great and all the rooms had a revamp. We were welcomed by rushed but friendly hotel staff who gave a quick instruction to get to our rooms.
But we did not realise how many rooms there were and different sections there were. It took about 20mins to get to the right room.
The hotel is situated in a high mountain and you could not walk down to the beach or the shops at all unless you got the bus. So anyone looking to walk down to the beach in the evening will be disappointed.
The food was good but basic and although the waiters were friendly they often forgot to bring the drink you asked for. A hotel for people who don’t want to explore.
