Nice apartment. We were on the top floor and the balcony was a constant concern with two children, they are not very safe. Found everything to be clean and tidy, toilets in main areas and poolside very clean.

Food in hotel restaurant fantastic! Great selection for dinner and breakfast, couldn't fault it at all and restaurant nice and airy.

Pool was quite good but very busy at times, had to get out early to obtain sunbeds when they unlock them.

Entertainment seemed to go on all day so when you are sitting around the pool you can hear loud music, I personally found this annoying but it obviously it wouldn't bother all.

The entertainment for kids in the evening was ok, bit repetitive. Did not see adult’s entertainment as started around 10 ish and had taken children up by then, heard it every night though!! So unable to sleep till around 11.30 when it stopped!

Found some of the other guests a bit unsavoury, one afternoon a teenage girl was requesting a fight by the side of the pool with another guest! Something you don't really want your children to see. Lots of smokers blowing it in your faces.

All the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Cap Salou is a short walk from hotel, there is not much there a few restaurants and little play area. The Smugglers Inn was fantastic and the Paddock is ok. Beach has no toilets and is quite a walk. Bus service to Salou and Port Aventura good and frequent.

Not a bad holiday, though don't think I would return to that particular hotel.

First time abroad and we loved it. Very clean apartments, friendly staff and all on a top class resort.

The entertainment was ok though I guess in the high season it would be better. Very clean pool's, it has three in total two large ones and a kids one.

There was a few English style pus near, one was about less 5 mins away that served food and about 15 mins a little are with a few more English pubs for food.

We never went in to any but around the same distance, we found a great Italian restaurant that served a mixture of Italian and European food (would recommend it to anyone!).

The food choice in Salou was also fantastic, many fish restaurants on the beach that served fantastic fresh fish at great prices. You can also get your usual British food no problem.

Salou was a nice town not as commercial as Benidorm (I am told); it’s also near Port Aventura which is a fantastic theme park. Has one of the best roller coasters in Europe and many other thrill rides.

It also has a good selection for kids all ages my little girl isn't even 2 and we found about a half dozen rides she loved. My son is 4 and he had even more choice. Also Port Aventura has a water park though we never visited it.

The only problems we found were the fact it wasn't in central Salou made it a bit more expensive as it was around 7-9 Euros a taxi each way though the bus stop was just outside and buses were every 30 mins.

Would go again and contemplating Salou next year, maybe closer to the town centre but I would still go back here if the price was a little cheaper.

Well what can I say? This was one of the best holidays we have ever been on.

My husband and myself plus 3 children aged 10, 9 and 4 yrs old. The hotel itself was really clean, the room was a little bit cramped but who would want to stay in their hotel room all day? It’s only somewhere to sleep.

The entertainment staff were excellent, it was my daughters 4th birthday we arrived and in the evening they all sang happy birthday to her and gave her a present and a certificate for her birthday plus it was my husbands 40th on the day before we went home and they did the same to him.

The beach was a bit far to walk everyday and the only cash point was a 10min walk from the hotel. The food in the hotel was fantastic and very cheap for breakfast and the evening meal.

You had to walk for 10 mins before you could find a nice restaurant and having a very young child I did not want to do that every night. We would like to return one day when we can afford it.

This was a really good hotel and catered for families. Pool area really nice, bar good, entertainment a bit cheesy but OK, if you have kids.

Rooms really nice massive balcony. Tried food and best hotel food we have had in Spain really cheap approx 6e a day h/b. Only downside the hotel is outside the main resort but it can be reached by bus or taxi.

Also we had a really early morning flight and had to wait approx 4 hours to check in, the whole flight seemed to be coming to this accommodation and the place was full of moaning people who were tired and wanted their rooms.

Once we got past that early annoyance had a really nice week.

Would deff recommend this hotel, just make sure your flight arrives after 2pm as they will not budge on giving keys out before this time.

Enjoyed the hotel very much, ideal for kids, plenty of transport outside of the hotel.

Nearest beach 10 mins away, although when we went in Oct, no toilets available near to beach.

The only gripe was we couldn't get into our room until 2pm, this is the norm, not very good if you book an early flight.

Couldn't fault the food, but drinks are expensive in the bar

If you want good company and excellent food, The Paddock just 5 mins away is recommended.

Spent 2 weeks half board at the Mediterranean Village with the wife and 2 kids (12&8) and have to say we had a fantastic time.

Some of the other reviews complain of the noise, well we had a 2nd floor room overlooking the pool and although we did experience some noise generally all the entertainment was moved inside by around midnight. Complaints about the thin walls are justified though.

Anybody who could not find something nice to eat must be very fussy eaters, there was so many different dishes to choose from and although the food on the 2nd week was pretty much the same as the 1st, the choice is so varied you could have something different every day.

Cap Salou itself is quiet, which is what we were after. The surrounding areas are very hilly so not very suitable for anyone with walking problems. Direct Holidays do warn you of this in their brochure.

There is a great beach a short walk from the hotel (10 mins) which we would recommend if you want to get away from the mayhem that is the hotel swimming pool ( my only gripe!).

About half way along the beach is a small bar that sells beer by the litre for just 3.50 euros-HEAVEN. Just turn right at the bottom of the hill outside the hotel and continue for about a quarter of a mile.

Entertainment at the hotel is varied with around three professional shows a week, the rest of the time it is done by the animation staff that I have to say do a good job both day and night.

Our 8 year old daughter would have loved to have stayed for the hotel entertainment every night but on the odd occasion we ventured to the local bars where the entertainment could be fun.

The hotel itself is 1st class as are the hotel staff. We found that they couldn't do enough for you. They were all very helpful and very polite. The bar is reasonably priced (2.50 euros for a pint) and is waiter service if you want it, and what’s more they don’t expect a tip although I think its common courtesy to do so.

Back to my only gripe! The hotel advertises around the entrance lobby that the reserving of sundowners is forbidden-rubbish. Around 8.00 each moaning we awoke to the dawn chorus of the dragging of sundowners. The pool doesn't even open 'till 10.00!

What's worse is that once the sun lounger vultures have hustled for the best spot in the sun and ritually laid out their towels as a tom cat marks its territory, the majority of them disappear for the morning and don't use them 'till the afternoon!

I have stayed in hotels where this has been a problem before and the pool staff will move any towel on a lounger that isn't being used. I wish the Mediterranean Village would adopt this policy. Do yourself a favour instead and get down to the beach I mentioned earlier.

Seriously though, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return to both Cap Salou and the Mediterranean Village.

I have visited more than a few hotels in the last couple of years and the Med Village is one of the ones that stands out for me.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Night-life is amazing and something for everyone. The drinks are reasonably priced and again great service from the bar staff!

I'll definitely be visiting again!

I stayed at this hotel with my partner and step daughter.

We had a room overlooking the pool. Although you could here the noise from the bar downstairs, this was remedied by closing the thick curtains.

The room was clean, and was cleaned every day, with the beds made and fresh towels. There were always sun loungers available although there was a bit of a queue for the roof top Jacuzzis.

The entertainment was fantastic throughout the day for the children and also on the night when different show were on.

The food was also outstanding, with a wide variety and on a Thursday there is a theme night. There is a children’s buffet which was changed daily. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were very helpful.

All in all, a fabulous holiday.

Just back from a two week holiday and we all need another holiday to get over this one. if you intend to get some sleep at night pack some ear plugs. We had two rooms overlooking the pool but unfortunately above the entertainment room. The music and shows go on till about midnight then the staff start cleaning up moving chairs and banging tables till at least 2am. Several people complained but we were all told we could not change rooms has there were none available.

The rooms are clean and a good size for two people but not for 4 people or a family. The walls are paper thin so you can hear next doors TV. And conversations so be careful what you say. The corridors are noisy at night with the drunks coming home and kids playing football in the day, then at about 7 am you are awoken by banging doors as people are getting ready for breakfast. The hotel advertisers a massage service well forget it there isn’t one.

The drinks were overpriced then they still expect a tip. if you have hired a car they want 6 euros a day to park the car and 3 euros a day to hire the fridge. The bus is 6 euros to Salou for two kids and two adults only to find all the shops shut between 1-5 pm. Cap Salou consists of two supermarkets, a chemist, and about 4 to 5 bars/restaurants which takes you ten minutes to walk round.

Salou is repetitive, shop after shop selling the same items of cheap tacky crap or well over priced playboy items which are twice as cheap in the UK.

If you intend to get drunk every night, let you’re kids run riot around the hotel and just lay on the beech all day then this is a fantastic holiday for you. But don’t get too drunk as you need to get up early to grab a sun bed.

If you want to watch the entertainment (if that’s what you call it) remember to get there early to reserve a seat as other hotels have even worse entertainment and they come to watch the shows. Remember to bring a drink down with you from your room as they are over priced. The best entertainment is watching everyone sneaking drinks out there bags without getting caught. So just buy the first drink and then refill from the stash under the table seemed to be the most popular option.

If you’re looking for a holiday resort for the family then just stay for a week any more and you’re mad. If you want to get ripped off then this is the holiday for you.

We loved this holiday! We arrived at the Med Village at 10.10 am but couldn't have our room until 2pm. Luckily I knew this in advance so I packed our swimming things in a separate bag!

The room we had was basic but clean and comfortable. There were 7 in our party so we had 2 rooms. The room that slept 4 was quite cramped but the room with 3 seemed huge!

The only drawback was we were on the 4th floor with a 4 year old! I was paranoid about letting him on the balcony and would have preferred a 1st or 2nd floor room.

The food was fantastic! There was loads to choose from and plenty of variety. The children's buffet was nice and catered for all tastes. For some reason though the drinks are free at breakfast but not for your evening meal.

The only thing that I didn't like about this holiday was its location!. Cap Salou is right at the end of Salou and only about 1 in every 5 buses goes there so be prepared to wait.

We went to Port Aventura: Fab, Costa Cariba: quite poor, Barcelona: Not enough time, La Pineda market: hardish to find! Cambrils: Gorgeous and Aquapolis: Fab!

We would visit a H10 hotel again but it would have to be in a different location. The entertainment was ok. The ridiculous queuing for sun beds is a complete farce! There were signs everywhere saying that sun beds couldn't be reserved with towels but no one took any notice. We just waited until about 2 o'clock and never had a problem getting seated!

Our first holiday abroad and flight and transfers to hotel were great. The hotel is lovely and staff were all very helpful whilst we were there. Our room was cleaned every day and the maids did a brilliant job. A bit disappointed as we had asked for a double bed and had twin beds. The food was plenty and varied each day though it did get a bit repetitive on the second week. The only fault with the restaurant was that you were not able to have hot drinks with the evening meal.

The pools at the hotel were always cleaned each morning and we found that there were plenty of sunbeds. I would have liked a lounge bar for adults with no children to relax in.

Also an English satellite channel showing movies or drama programmes would have been nice instead of just world news and eurosport.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay on our first holiday abroad.

We are just back from our holiday in Mediterranean village myself partner, and two kids age 12 and 6 had a great time, it was our best holiday so far.

We were self catering but you could use the restaurant for your breakfast and evening meal at a cost of 6euro per adult for breakfast and three Euro for kids and an evening meal cost 10 Euro for adult and five Euro for kids and it was great value.

The food was lovely and you could have as much as you wanted. If you’re travelling to other parts of Salou the buses are cheaper than taxis. If you are going to portaventura be prepared for queues but you can pay extra for express that means you don’t have to queue for long. Overall the apartments were very clean and staff very friendly. We will be going back we enjoyed it so much.

Just arrived back from H10 Med Village, I can not praise this hotel enough. It was fantastic. Spotlessly clean, staff could not do enough for us.

The food was lovely, rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the entertainment, well what can I say, it was excellent. Hose, our entertainer was top class for both children and adults alike. The activities started early in the morning and continued until late evening.

We went to Port Aventura one day and it was just fantastic, just go early in the morning as the queues can be quite long.

We went on a boat trip to Cambrills with Little John as our captain and it was very enjoyable

The Airtours reps were fantastic, very helpful but not pushy. There is so much to do and see that we didn’t want to come home.

We will definitely go back again next year!

You must read this one! Just back from med village H10, didn’t get any sleep for people dragging furniture about till 2 or 3 in the morning (that was after the bin men came at 11.00pm) and then the bottle bank men came at 4am, you must avoid rooms in the main building overlooking the 'goods in' and out' we were in 258. 158 and 358 would be as noisy.

Hotel security wasn’t any help at all when we complained about the noise, but I wouldn’t go back anyway, there were 4 of us and a 12 month old baby it was a 'family orientated' hotel but after we got kicked out of our room at 10am there was no provision made for the baby, we had hoped to keep our room on at a price but they had no facilities for this and our baby was kept hanging around for 9 hours.

We dined once in the restaurant and my daughter couldn’t have a spirits drink only beer or squash and when she asked if she could nip to the bar for a Malibu and coke they said yes but you can’t bring your drink in here so she didn’t have one.

The food was awful no main meal ingredient no choice of veg (just spinach) yukki sweet cakes so I’m glad we were self catering we liked the paddock. The smugglers waiters’ couldn’t have been less interested slouching with their hands in their jeans pockets.

Pathways were hazardous with the buggy and access to some nicer spots inaccessible altogether in cap salou. Getting a lounger was a chore, we hated being crammed together in a small space but the weather was good!

Upon our arrival we were greeted by the rep who was lovely and brought directly to our hotel. About 20 minute drive. At reception we got our key and Free safety deposit box. First time we ever got a box free. I went with my husband and 11 month old daughter.

Our room looked basic for a hotel room, first thing we did was let the baby crawl on the floor, and we were shocked. She got up with 2 black legs from the dirt. She was picking things from the floor, hair bands, hair fluff. It was awful.

I went back to reception and got some one to come and wash the floor. I had to wash the floors myself at least four times as the maid’s only spray freshener. They were not too happy when I would get the mop from outside the door and start washing the floor myself. They don't do a great job cleaning. I would have no problem doing it myself but when you go half board you don't have the equipment.

Apart from that hiccup, food was ok apart from you got fed up of the same thing. Breakfast was the same every morning. Dinner was better for the kids. All of the food seemed to be recycled. Entertainment was very good and started at 10.30 in the morning until almost 12.00 every night.

Plenty of room around the pool area except you do have to be up early to get your spot with the comfy blue beds. You are only 15-20 minutes walk from Salou centre or La Pineda. By bus about 5 mins at €1.50.

We bought tickets for the Port Aventura on the internet before we went and got 14 days for the price of 3 . That worked out well. A great place.

I would book again for next year but would book self catering instead of half board. The one bedroom apartment is very spacious.
