We have recently returned from our week long holiday at Mediterranean Village. On arrival we had to wait until 2.00 until we could get into our rooms which we found difficult as we hadnt slept the night before because of travelling.
We stayed in self catering appartments which were comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable and having a safe was reassuring. The chairs around the dining table were very annoying because they scraped so loudly on the tiled floors..We were kept awake by this noise from the floor above.
The staff were very courteous and helpful with very good English and the food in the resteraunt was good ( although if you ordered a take-away breakfast it was horrible)
Our two biggest moans are about the indoor pool area and the entertainment.
The pool was very cold and every time we went there, smelled very badly of a sort of sulpher. One day it was so bad that we went back to reception to complain- we were worried that the smell might be dangerous. There were also no hooks in the showers to hang clothing or towels - a cheap addition which would have made a lot of difference. The sauna and steam rooms though were great!
The entertainment was the biggest disappointment. There is a hyper bunch of people called the Animation team who are loud and over the top as they move around the hotel. They were intrusive, trying to get people to play football etc, as were relaxing by the pool . They played extreemly loud music in both the outdoor and indoor area. But by far the worst thing they did was their ' entertainment' evening. It was supposed to be for adults but was aimed at an average age of 6. The performances were embarrisingly bad, immature and again very loud. Although it was very bad, we stayed for a while to give them the benefit of the doubt but couldnt concentrate too hard as there were five TV screens on at the same time- all showing football!!! We are not interested in football but in both the main bar and the Celtic bar the screens were on all the time.
The area of Cap Salou is not the prettiest place Ive been but it was a good jumping off point to get to the lovely Tarragona and some day trips we made to Barcelona.
All in all we had a good holiday and with a few tweeks the hotel could be much improved.
Well what can i say about this...

Well what can i say about this holiday well its the best holiday i ever been on, with everyone enjoying themselves in the evening, the hotel is nice and clean tidy and the staff are very friendly.
The Evening entertainment was out of this world we had such a laugh i am looking forward to going back this year with more members of my family.
If you are looking to be going on holiday and you need to relax then this is the place for you i would like to thank the entertainment team FOR DOING A BRILLENT JOB.
Well, what can i say about this...

Well, what can i say about this so say 4 star hotel! We arrived home yesterday ( 6th april ). We were lucky enough to have great weather whilst there. The entertainment was awful( not bad if you took kiddies with you ).The season has'nt really started yet so it was a tad quiet. Our apartment was very nice, cleaned everyday. We were on the 2nd floor of block B. We ate at the paddock most days which was lovely.
Don't forget to take a mortgage out when you go to this part of spain as it is the most expensive place i've ever been!! Two rum&cokes cost us 10.40 euros which is dearer than bein at home. In the end we took our own stash down to the bar&we did'nt get caught(lol).Reps were ok,spent more time time with the youngsters rather than the oldies. Having had a moan about this place we met some cracking people ( all you mad irish )which i have to say made our holiday!!!!
We would sadly never go to salou again, give us benidorm anyday

i thought this holiday was the best i had in my life it was absolutely fab the staff was so kind and helpful you didnt get into your rooms till 2pm but that wasnt a problem i went with ma mum dad and brother (i am still only a child myself) the food was really good the first year we went ,but the following year i got food poisoning on the second week and so did my broher and my mum that year we went with my cousins which made the holiday even better. the pool area was really good and clean but the maids werent so nice though. a few times we broke the safe but that wasnt a problem as it was fixed very quickly the entertainment was good at night and finished around 1am the first year there was a game room but the second there wasn't.the sweets from the machine were good and the computers were helpful for talkin to friends on a rainy day In cap salou there wasnt much entertainment but overall it was a fantastic holiday. !!!!! :)

We had a fantastic time. family of 5 with 3 kids aged 10,7 & 4. Arrived at midnight staff very helpful only down side was everywere closed and couldnt get anything to eat, didnt really like the Celtic bar so steered clear of that. Apartments were very clean maid service daily clean towels etc, apartment very basic but I dont cook when on holidays so it suited our needs but if you are intending to cook for a family it would be extremely difficult as very small kitchen area.
safe in room wouln't open on a few occasions but staff sent someone within a few minutes to fix it.
Food reasonable in hotel- breakfast is better than dinner, sunclub next door has good reasonably priced food.
Pool area great we went Sept so not too crowded very clean.
Entertainment staff were excellent and the nightly shows great. Kids only tried the kids club once and were not impressed but that was fine for us as I like to spend our time with them when we are away.
Cap Salou is a very quiet area with little to do in the evenings so we would stay by the pool during until around 3 and head off to Portaventura (dont miss it) in the evening and the queues for the rides are much shorter and its cooler for walking around.
If you want a hectic holiday with lots of nightlife then this place is not for you but if,like us, you go away to spend time with your family and have fun then its well worth a go -

I stayed at this hotel on a half board basis with my partner and my 5 year old son
i would never go again and certainly would not recomend that anyone else stayed here.
The rooms were extremely dirty, there were also a large number of thefts during my stay including my digital camera which was left inside my locked room. The food wasnt fit to feed my dog, it appeared to be leftovers off the day before, it was cold and not much choice. Hotel staff were very unhelpful and unfriendly, the pool was absolutely filthy and on a number of occasions i saw rats running through the area near the pool.
I think i am being generous even giving this place a 2/10. Lots of fights as sunbeds are limited, not a hotel with a nice atmosphere at all.

Hi All, I went here with my family & my friend in 2006 that was my 2nd visit to the Med Village and it jus gets better & better!
The complex is massive, complete with 3 bars, restaurant, jaccuzi on the roof, gym & sauna, entertainment every night!!
The beach is jus 1km away i think, its gorgeous nice blue sea and golden sands exactly what you need.
The resort centre is 2km away its full of bars, restaurants, macdonalds, nightclubs, cocktail bars etc.
The theme & water parks are just a bus journey away if you want to spend a day there you can buy day passes off the reps at the hotel.
The hotel is always really busy, full of families with people of all ages, the reception staff are really helpful aswell and the reps are ace!
If you've booked a holiday here i guarantee you will enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my second time in Salou but my first time in the Mediterranean Village. I have to say this was my best holiday by far. The Mediterranean Village was outstanding, the staff were so friendly and the entertainment was brilliant. The rooms was spotless and the food was great.
I went with my wife and 1 year old son, my wife loved it and my 1 year old son loved the children's disco they put on every night. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone, what ever age you are.
I enjoyed it so much as soon as I got back I booked it again for August 2008. I told my family about it now there is a party of 12 of us going.
There are buses outside the hotel (which run regular) to take you wherever you want to go. Portaventura is a must see, so is Barcelona. You will have a brilliant time, guarantee....

We went 21st October 2007, me my husband and our son. Although you could not get in your room until 2pm which is fair, as the cleaners have to tidy the room for you and they cannot tidy all the rooms in 1 hour to please everybody.
We found the rooms very tidy, and fresh towels were given every day if you put your dirty ones in the bath, they would be exchanged, we had the pool view, no complaints from the room at all, the only thing that would of been nice in the room would have been a kettle and some tea bags etc to make a brew when ya wake up.
The pools were lovely although never went in as my husband did and it was freezing, but we went in the indoor pool, you have to wear a swimming cap, which you buy at reception for 2 Euro.
The Turkish bath and sauna are really good, as of most of the facilities in the Hotel.
The Entertainment is very good and Staff are really friendly. The bus stops right outside (near enough) the hotel for all destinations and I must add it’s a big yes yes to go on the Jeep Safari we had a brill day, and all the guys are very well trained and hard workers and make your day fun.
We went to the theme park too it cost about 8 Euro to go in a taxi so if 4 of you are going it’s worth it can work out just as cheap as the bus.... and a must is to go on the Barcelona trip, there is a few, but the one we went on was the football stadium one with the stop at the shopping centre and then the magic fountains show a 10 out of 10.
All in all we had a brill holiday and would go back, the only thing we found was it was very expensive as in the whole, not just the hotel bar.... we changed well over 1000.00 in English money, and come back with nothing..... but it’s a lovely place and the beaches are lovely too, the one at the bottom of the hotel bit of a climb down to (esp when ya coming back up) but it’s very sheltered so a proper sun trap and very clean.
We all had a fun holiday and I know you will too, and the hotel in my eyes is defo a 4 star. And the lifts were working no problems at all and no graffiti..... Enjoy!!
I really enjoyed our holiday,...

We returned on the 28th of October from a two week holiday, of which there were 85 of us altogether, aged between 2 and 80. The hotel was very nice, just a short walk to the beaches and restaurants, of which we would recommend 'The Paddock', we ate there on many occasions.
On the day you arrive rooms are not available until 2pm, but they do have a luggage store room and changing area.
Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful, in our group we managed to break the safe many times but they were very quick to fix it.
If you wanted to take a trip out for the day you only have to step outside the hotel to find the bus stops, of which the buses are fairly frequent.
The entertainment crew were excellent, we had a boys birthday whilst we were there and they helped to make sure he had a birthday he couldn't forget.
We had quite a few younger people in our group who went to Port Aventura for the day, and they had a wonderful time, not too many queues if you go during a week day.
Breakfast buffet - superb. Dinner buffet - varied with lots of choices.
The rooms were good, the beds were very comfy, although it is true about thin walls. We were facing the front of the hotel and found it very peaceful, if you are overlooking the pools, you can hear the entertainment that is on during the day and night.
Overall we all had a great holiday. :)

Had week at Med Village from 7th to 14th October with my son.
Long wait to check into room after arriving at Village by 10am. Did not get into room until 2pm.
Luggage facilities are appalling. Luggage is just left in one room and left. Room is not locked up so anyone could walk out with someone’s luggage. There appeared to be no set procedure or supervision during this time of anyone’s luggage. It is also a health and safety hazard, as parents and children were trying to get swimming stuff out of cases and some cases had not been stacked up correctly. If a case was to fall on a small child it could cause serious damage.
If you go in October be prepared for freezing cold pool water, inside pool as well, which is said to be heated. Also Jacuzzis on roof top are freezing this time of year.
If you don't like lots of children around then don't go on this holiday, as there were lots!
Food and accommodation is adequate. Night times entertainment very good.
No coffee machine in reception, which was desperately needed when leaving at 7.30 am in the morning. Two cigarette machines though!!
On the whole it was an average holiday for me and my son - but we shall not be returning as we found it too noisy in the hotel corridors, by children unsupervised by their parents.
This is a lovely family resort,...

This is a lovely family resort, but is also good for friends at the same time.
Everything is lovely, from the staff to the food.
I have been here for 2 years running now and I would go back again.
There are many great villages about so you can pop out and about easy, with buses running like clock work, unlike the ones in England.
There is also the theme park which is worth a visit or 2 and the water parks if you go at the right time of year.
I would also say go to nou camp as it is the most amazing football ground ever,
so if I was you I would go there and have a whale of a time.

I'm disgusted that when you write to this place to let people know what they getting them selves into. In this hotel it’s deleted, sad really because this hotel is definitely no way a 4 star hotel. But you rather make out to the people in the UK with a few little children that it’s a great place to be and its not.
Can’t ever get in the pools because they always closed. Can’t have any entertainment unless you make it your selves. Cant go swimming if its raining, the pools top pool mainly as glass and food thrown in it.
The lift never works, people have no help with the language to they rooms and the place is so big that is one thing you should apply. You arrive early and are not allowed into your room till gone 2pm in afternoon. Not good if you arrive early hours in the morning, with a pile of little wee babies and children.
Also the security guards do nothing but make problems, so no point talking to them. If you wont to make a complaint don’t go to the staff because the manager doesn’t want to know.
Would never return.
