" fantastic "

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 26th September to 4th October 2009.It was our 50th Birthday present from our family and one we will never forget. It was spotless with excellent rooms, staff, and entertainment. It was situated near to all ammenities and you couldnt ask for anything more.Well done to the maids who changed the towels every day and made the beds everyday and left the room spotless.I would definately stay there again and recommend it to anyone of any age group.Well done the "Atlantic".

Advice: lovely quiet small resort

Activities: charlies

" We loved it! "

We are a couple in our twenties, and stayed at the Atlantic Hotel week beginning 18th October, on a half board basis.
The Atlantic is advertised as a good family hotel and I think this is probably accurate. I was a little worried at first that we would be the odd ones out as there were only a handful couples without children. However, this turned out to not be the case and we felt very welcome and included. If you're not a fan of kids running around everywhere, this may not be the hotel for you but we didn't mind at all. The hotel was modern, spacious and clean.
The room was great, it was modern and had everything we needed, and it was cleaned daily. We didn't mind that there were not many English channels as we don't go on holiday to watch telly, but German MTV was good for a bit of background music. Although there were only two of us in our room we had two single beds and a sofa bed. We actually slept on the sofa bed a couple of times to see the sunrise, and it was comfortable and steady so I'm not sure what other people were doing to make it flip over! The windows and doors are double glazed so they block out most of the noise, we were on the second floor on the swimming pool side and slept peacefully, even when we had an early night one night.
The entertainment team were great. You couldn't fault their enthusiasm, day and night. They tried to get everyone involved, kids and adults. They did several competitions during the day (shooting, archery, pool, darts, etc.) and gave out certificates in the evening, very funny! There were party dances and various other entertainment in the evening. It was kind of holiday camp cheesey but it was a laugh and MOST people seemed to enjoy themselves, I guess if you don't like that kind of thing you can easily go elsewhere in the town. We got dragged on stage one night for a 'Mr & Mrs' sort of competition and well and truly embarrassed ourselves with how rubbish we were, hopefully no one we know saw us!
The hotel is pretty much in the centre of the town, it's a small town but has several supermarkets, souvenir shops, and a few bars and restaurants. It was the end of season and a few of the bars had already closed and others were in the process of closing so it wasn't as lively as I guess it is in peak season. That said, we drank in quite a few different bars in the course of the week. A few bars do the local lager for €2 a pint, which is cheaper than the hotel.
It rained a few days but we still managed to come back with quite good tans. It was warm during the day, and we only needed a jumper one breezy evening. The pool was cold but the sea was warm!
We enjoy meeting the various characters you come across on holiday, and the staff at the Atlantic were no exception. Crazy, sometimes grumpy, funny but very entertaining; from the bar staff, to the waitress in the restaurant, to the cleaners. Maybe we are weird but we find that quite entertaining!
We have been on quite a few half board holidays and realise that you're not going to get a 'michelin star' standard restaurant. I think the main fault of the restaurant, if any, was that they tried to have such a wide variety of dishes that there was clearly a lot of food leftover at the end of the day. They do use the leftovers in some of the dishes the next day but if you don't like the look of it, don't eat it, there are plenty of other fresh dishes to choose from! They could have avoided this by putting less food out but people would certainly have complained about the lack of choice. Dinner can be three courses if you're greedy enough(!) we even had a three course breakfast! (Coffee and biscuits to start, followed by full English and fresh fruit to finish!). We used the restaurant all week, we never went hungry and never got ill, we had no complaints - we were encouraged to complain by another guest, who also felt it necessary to film the food in a sort of 'undercover food inspector' way (bizarre but exciting holiday video I suppose!) but it did kind of ruin our meal.
The idea of a holiday for us is to get away from all the stresses and worries of life at home, to relax a little, to over-indulge slightly but mainly to have fun! Our attitude is; when things don't go as planned or as you hoped, the best thing to do is make the best of it and not let it get in the way of enjoying a well earned week off - rather than spending the entire week looking miserable and moaning to other guests, I guess trying to ruin their holiday too?
On reflection I think you get out of your holiday what you put into it; we had a great holiday because we wanted to have a great holiday. If you are going to this hotel, I hope you have have as much fun as we did!

" Shocking food! "

Stayed at the Atlantic Hotel in Es Cana in Ibiza on an all inclusive basis after FIRST CHOICE informed us the hotel we HAD booked several months earlier had closed for the season! As if they wouldn't know the dates that their hotels close??
They sent us here instead. The holiday started badly after we left my 5 year old daughters bag on the bus from the airport with her Nintendo DS in! Arriving at 10pm there was nothing to do but wait till morning. The rep ROB, after much persuasion, managed to get in touch with the bus company and we had to travel about half hour by bus and cab at a cost of 35 euros to collect. I know it was our fault but I'm sure the hotel could have done something more to help.
Our 'All Inclusive' package was an absolute joke, the food was simply shocking with the SAME bits of meat and quiche type things, salad appearing 3 days after they first appeared!! Breakfast was JUST passable and edible but only fried eggs offered and disgusting looking scrambled, no boiled, soft boiled etc etc.
We were refused bottled water and ice cream for the kids on our 'all inclusive' package as they said it was not on their list of things that they offered on this basis! Some of the staff were very hostile, mainly the young women serving at the snack bar. The actual bar manager guy was great and gave us bottled water whenever possible, lovely fella. For lunch we had to pick from the snack bar menu. All well and good till you realise that there are about 3 things marked with an asterisk that you can have!! Hot Dog with chips, burger with chips and that was about it! No tuna salad rolls allowed, no salads allowed, a total joke!!
FIRST CHOICE expect your children to drink coke and fanta ALL week, good for their teeth eh! Whatever happened to promoting healthy eating and drinking with water, salads etc??
Having had a row with the assistant manageress after she complained bitterly that we tried to make up a few rolls to take out with us as we had missed breakfast, one member of the staff at reception said that the hotel was NOT suitable for all inclusive and that it should NEVER have been offered by FIRST CHOICE!
Rob the rep was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, simply useless apart from making a phone call.
My wife and I had to sleep on a sofa bed which tipped up when you went near the edge! We went on a train ride round our part of the island and saw the place we were meant to stay at and it looked simply beautiful from the beach even though it was closed. No comparison to the Atlantic.
The actual hotel was clean, showers were good, tv ok if only 3 channels, sky news and cnn and mtv. Entertainment staff worked hard and involved mostly the guests as part of their act. Pool was nice and clean although my wife and daughter got ear infections whilst there although obviously not definately the pool. The Atlantic is probably ok for most people but only go self catering and NEVER all inclusive. We ate out at restaurants from the 3rd day onwards as the food was getting worse and staying out longer and longer! Some rotten banana desert was wheeled out the next day with crumble over it to disguise it!! Laughable almost.
You cannot really go to bed before 1200-1230am as the noise from the bar doesnt end till then.
Would I go to the Atlantic again...NO. Would I book with FIRST CHOICE again? NO!!
First Choice? More like Last Choice!

" Been to Es Cana before and it didn't... "

Been to Es Cana before and it didn't disappoint - neither did the Atlantic. Spotless well equipped studio which was cleaned every day. The pool was large and the weather excellent. Es Cana is a relaxing place and very good value for money. The Marvent still offers fantstic service and value. Had a meal at the Chinese and it was ok would not really recommend it to anyone though.

Ibiza is a lovely place and nothing like some peoples perception of clubs and all nighters its a short hop from the UK and any transfers are quick and painless. All in all top apartments in a top resort.

" Got back a week ago, had a fantastic... "

Got back a week ago, had a fantastic time our 2 year old loved it. We upgraded to an appartment and it was great with a seperate bedroom that you could divide off as you needed. Room was absolutley spotless as was the rest of the hotel. We opted for half board and the food and choice was exellent. All the staff are very friendly and helpfull. The only thing we could fault was the evening entertainment, when it finally started (advertised at 10pm) it was usually good but it was not organised very well at times, sometimes there would be a long delay between the kids disco (8.30-9.30) and the adult entertainment starting, but on the whole this did not stop us having a fantastic time......... We wish we were back there now!

" Myself and my girlfriend along with... "

Myself and my girlfriend along with our 2 year daughter visited the hotel in June, when we arrived we were very impressed with how well presented the hotel was and with how clean the rooms were found to be. The childrens pool area was excellent and there was also a play area, the bar service was excellent and served nice food, however despite their hard efforts the entertainment left a lot to be desired and we spent most of our evenings around the various restaurants and bars in Es Cana. We would love to go back and may return for our family holiday next year.

" We had a fantastic holiday we... "

We had a fantastic holiday we returned 3 weeks ago and wish we were still there. The cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in it was spotless. We stayed in a studio and there was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The bathroom was immaculate and the kitchen compact but fine for what we needed. 2 adults and 2 children in our party and there was plenty for the children to do all day by the pool (adults too if they could be bothered to tear themselves away from the sunbeds!) The entertainment staff led by Johnny were great day and night. The hotel was in an ideal location close to bars and restaurants, shops and beach but was tucked away from any noise. We ate from the bar a couple of times and also joined in with the hotel BBQ and the food was nice and it was good value. We would reccomend this hotel to anybody especially families and hope to return there one day soon.

" Cannot fault this place for a family... "

Cannot fault this place for a family holiday. First time in Ibiza and we breezed through the airport and striaght to the hotel with no hitches, there were reps (quite a few of them) at the airport and they were very helpful, there was also a rep on the transfer bus with us. transfer time is more like a half hour not the hour and 5 mins stated which was good. Hotel was extremely clean and well run, maids came in every day, the staff were professional and polite and nothing seemd to be too much trouble. they was a rep on site every day except fridays, we didn,t really need a rep but it was nice to know they were there if needed. Pool opens at 9 and there is a bit of a rush with towels on sunbeds but as long as you don't leave it til later than 10 you will be ok. We took our 2 children aged 16 and 12 with us and there were a few children their age but mostly younger.I have to take my hat off to the entertainment staff at the hotel who work really hard especially Johnny who has endless energy. The apartments have everything you need the kitchen is in a cupboard, which didn't really bother me at all as it was nice to shut it away when not using and to be honest I did not do any real cooking in it anyway mostly cold food. Es Cana is quite a small place but I loved it. Marvents is the best place to eat, so reasonable .Found Santa Eulalia much more expensive tho.

" Just returned from the Atlantic Hotel... "

Just returned from the Atlantic Hotel in Es Cana, having booked on a half board basis only a month before. We had booked a suite - on arrival very impressed, the accommodation was superb! We had 2 bedrooms plus a lounge area with a flat screen tv and cd/dvd player plus 2 bathrooms. Spotlessly clean, towels changed every day.
We booked on a half board basis and would definitely return to this hotel but on a self catering basis as the food after 2 weeks was a little predictable to say the least. The breakfasts were fine but the evening meals were ok if you liked salad, other than that you were struggling. The food wasn't particularly hot either.
Venturing out there are loads of good places to eat, including Rio's and Marvent which is on the beachfront and all really good value. Bar Tres Esquinas bar just down from the hotel is really cheap, kids drinks 1 euro and beer 1.75 with shorts and cocktails only2 euros! Also Los Jarros restaurante is really nice and very good value too!
Overall superb family friendly resort and we shall definitely be returning again!

" Absolutely fabulous!
Hotel so... "

Absolutely fabulous!
Hotel so clean. Maids come in each day to change towels and clean room.
Cocktail of the day is always only €2.50 which is good value considering the amount of alcohol they put in it!
We went as a family of 4, myself, my partner, 5 year old son and 1 year old daughter.
Pool and park area are very secure as you have to go upstairs and through hotel to get out.
Pool cleaned every night, sunbeds packed away and area cleaned.
Entertainment until 12pm each night.
Food was excellent, different variety each night, BUT sometimes a bit salty so be careful if you have babies! Rooms have microwave, 2 hobs and fridge.
Keep you boots / tesco card in the key card holder and your aircon will stay on whilst you are out, trust me you will need it!
Staff all really friendly.
Johnny provides all of the entertainment day and night and is excellent with the kids!
Expect some cheesy non stop music, but then you expect that everywhere!
I have been on many 18-30 holidays in Ibiza, as i am just 27 myself, but this is entirely different from San Antonio. Very quiet, and absolutely beautiful.
Short walk (5 mins!) from beach and bars etc, but it is actually cheaper to drink and eat in the hotel itself.
Be warned, nappies are very expensive there, £10 for a pack of 15!
Take you own with you.
No belly ache for any of us, no illness or earache etc.
Some other guests had been coming back year after year.
I travel alot with work, and i have to say this is one of the cleanest hotels i have ever stayed at and i usually stay 4star in the UK.
My son loved this holiday, and so did me and my partner.
Baby was a bit young to appreciate it, but the staff fussed over her loads, so she loved that! Defo would go again, recommend for value.
But take extra Euros as the rate is poor at the moment.
I took euros out in UK at 1.23, but got a rate of 1.26 over there, so may be best to take your debit card and cash in there! No cockroaches seen, which is amazing for a holiday in Spain.

" Just arrived back from the Atlantic... "

Just arrived back from the Atlantic Aparthotel. Party of two adults and two older children 17 - 15, and having booked last minute(3 weeks before departure). We were apprenhensive at to level/type of accommadation. We had paid for a suite. When got into the rooms...VERY impressed.
Suites consist of a single bedroom, lounge area (double bed sette) and further twin bedroom with en-suite. (could sleep 5 at a push),all rooms were large, the balcony looked out onto the road, not a problem (older kids) but it has a cracking view of the harbour and sea. GREAT. sun first thing in the morn....shade in the evening great for having a cold beer and watching the world pass by. We were on the top floor. in the far corner. so no others running past our door. The maids attended every day and kept the place very clean. The reception staff very helpful. even the bar staff had smiles all day long.
Didnt use the rep or go on the trips,(but he seemed approachabel) we like to keep away from the big sell and do our own thing. Evening entertainment seemed OK if you wanted to watch, again we tended to go out and find out own choices of entertainment.
The tip about an old matalan card or similar, to leave in the slot so you air-conditioning is on all day is great. (nice cool room to go back to)
Do get a safety deposit box. You never know whos about.
The only bad thing about or holiday concerned the flight...too many drunk youths on the plane going out of Manchester.....VERY noisy (and P!""£$) but the air stewardess kept giving them booze, OK we-re all on holiday even the kids. but on a 6AM flight is a bit much. Good job they all went off to San Antonio. (but we did have the pleasure of their company on the return jourmey..still causing hassle.)

" Fantastic I can only confirm what the... "

Fantastic I can only confirm what the Hill family had to say we were there from the 28th June for 2 weeks and it was absolutely fab, there were 6 in our party (2adults 2 children 2 and 11 my mum 76 and my 18yr old son) there was something for everyone both in the resort and in the hotel. We had a Kids Den which was great 1 twin bedroom, 1 double bedroom (each with their own bathroom) and a double sofa bed, flat screen tv but we could only get CNN or Sky news. The brochure does say that Kids Dens come with a Playstation but be warned they are not automatically put in the room you need to ask at reception and pay a 30euro deposit which is then returned when you take it back, you can also hire dvds and playstation games for about 5 euros each a day.

The only critisism i can give regarding our kids den as there is not a lot of storage space so be prepared to live out of a suitcase.

Only one of the Kids Dens at this property overlooks the pool the rest are overlooking the back of the hotel, ours overlooked the pool it was room P001 its ideal as its right by reception but no good if you go to bed early due to the noise from the evening entertainment which is right underneath the balcony.

We love visiting the waterparks we booked a local mini bus to take us rather than go on the reps trip, i would do this again but i would rec you buy your tickets from the rep as it was cheaper from him than it would have been paying on the gate.

The day after we got back we booked up again for next year - you can't get a better recomendation than that.

" Well, what can i say...apart from... "

Well, what can i say...apart from excellent!!!

we stayed here between 25th june-2nd july and the weather was perfect not one bad day what a bonus!!

Went with my fella & 2yr old and my sister & fella with kids 2 & 4 and we all had such a relaxed holiday due to the way the pool areas were set out, big pool with plenty of beds was situated near the food area and then the childrens pool was at the far end up some steps (bit difficult if you have a buggy) it was gated off so it was safe the childrens pool was a good size and not to deep plenty of beds aswell, we all spent the afternoons laid down in it, the water was so warm come the afternoon it was harder to get the adults out let alone the kids!!!, next to the childrens pool was their very own playarea which had a gate aswell so they could go between without you having to follow, but it was very hot on the ground shoes a must!!

There was also a play hut which was open set hours so they could do painting with a staff member they were brilliant!! and play with the toys, these had toilets in but when its closed you have to walk all the way back to the main hotel near the big pool which was a bit annoying for a potty training 2yr old

Dont bother buying inflatables plenty of them left everyday for everyone to enjoy all the kids shared which was great.
Ive never seen our kids enjoy themselves so much we were at the pool everday they are still talking about it now so it must of been good!!

Hotel was definately 3/4star cleanest hotel ive ever been to, cleaners were very polite & great at what they did,
I though the entertainment staff were fantastic friendly bunch ever, great performance in their broadway show, everynight different entertainment my son loved the live reptile show!!

we stayed in a studio apartment 3 of us and i would say it was big enough but it might be a squeeze if it was 4 adults, 2 big single beds and a double sofa bed which was so comfortable.

Clean rooms & towels every day which was fantastic, kitchen very tiny in a hidden cupboard in the hallway had to shut doors if you needed to get to the bathroom, but a great space saving idea if its not a essential on your holiday!!

Read previous reviews about how to keep air con on when you take key card out for the evening it works, just put a boots or tesco card in and its nice and cool when you get back!!

Location was great very near everything which is great with young children, not that big tho so you might want to go to other towns if your there for 2 weeks as i think it would be a bit boring going to the same place everynight, great train service on the beachfront will take you to other parts, would definately say it was for children plenty of funfairs & parks and older guests with lots of nice restuarants to have a drink near the beachfront, not really for groups of lads or girls only one nightclub which we could see from our balcony but heard no noise as it was underground on the main strip.

Lifts were very small lucky we were on 2nd floor used the stairs most of the time

Remember to take lots of euro's was quite expensive as euro rate was quite bad!!

All in all a fab place to come for what you pay, already trying to book again!! Have a great time!!! :)
