my wife and i together with 6 friends have just returned what turned out to be a very good holiday - the hotel was first rate the food was varied but enough choice to suit most people well maybe not the long term moaners who just moan and groan for the sake of it. Our rooms where cleaned daily to a high standard and the facilities was as described in the brochure 1st class with 2 large pools and enough sunbeds 2 cater for all the guest. Our only complaint like many others staying was the lack of entertainment which was really non existence and the entertainers just wanted to laze around with their new friends and not mix with many of the guest. Apart from a game of darts each day nothing was organised and the 2 entertainers were probably the laziest people in Turkey if not the world. We would all say to any future holidaymakers go to the Greenland's you will enjoy the area, the hotel, the food and the amenities but be prepared to entertain yourselves. if you have a walking problem then this is not the hotel for you its built on the mountains and the slopes are steep.

Me and my boyfriend were at the hotel greenlands from 26th june - 3rd july. It was Beautiful, the hotel is set in the mountains and thats all you can see from your sun lounger.
Rooms
Our room was on the 3rd floor (its only a couple of flights of stairs) it was quite small, but it does the job. it was always clean, the beds were comfy and the shower was powerfull. the balcony was tiny but we only used it to dry our towels and swimsuits. The air con does its job. only problem we found was that the power for the room shuts off when you remove your key from the slot in the wall, which was annoying when trying to charge the camera for that night, but other than that the room was lovely 8/10.
Food
It was a buffet style restraunt, loads to choose from every night. the food was always hot and fresh. theres were loads of puddings to try as well. the snacks were fantstic in the afternoon. 9/10
Pool
The pool was fantastic! we loved it as we are big kids and it had a slide :) loads of sun loungers with umbrellas, probally busier in high season with kids around. 10/10
Staff
The entertainment staff were wonderful, charlie edu and the other guy were so friendly and spoke really good english. the bar staff were also very friendly, they give very large portions of vodka lol. the receptinon staff let them down as i didnt find all of them polite. 9/10

After a 4 hour flight from Norwich Airport, we arrived in the darkness (03.00) to a pleasant warm mountain breeze. The porter carried our cases to our room on the first floor. (Would recommend that you request at least the first floor if you can manage the stairs). Our twin bedded room was pleasant, spotlessly clean and well furnished, mini bar well stocked and air conditioning. We had requested a balcony which was just big enough for two chairs and the morning light revealed a view of a magnificent pinewood forest, casting a welcome shade over our room.
Awoke to 35 degrees, blue sky and sunshine at 0800. The temperatures climbed to around 45 degrees by 1300 although there is the luxury of a breeze most of the day. The hotels backdrop is mountainous and the views across the surrounding countyside are magnificent.
Breakfast 08:00 til 10:00
Lunch 12:30 til 14:00
Dinner 19:30 til 21:30
(Pool bar provides afternoon snack around 17:00 and a childrens buffet is available)
The food is plentiful and excellent. Choices of hot or cold dishes and the chefs will cook you an omelette / fried egg whilst you wait at breakfast. If you want "English Fry up" I would suggest you try Benidorm ;o) - for all you bacon lovers - this is a muslem country !!!
Local drinks are available from 08:00 til 00.00 - the beer is Tuborg (not to my taste but chilled and a welcome thirst quencher when the temperature starts to soar). Red and white wine and local spirits are also included.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The entertainments team are fun and you can have a massage on site - prices between £12-£16 and well worth it !! Watch out for the bingo 30 lira and there was some argument over the prizes (they are not transferrable), so dont play if you are going home the next evening.
There is free transport to the local beach leaving the hotel at 10:30 and returning in the late afternoon. Taxi into the local town of Hisaranou will cost you approx. 20 lira. Or a 5 minute walk down the hill and you can catch the local minibus service which runs every 5 minutes - just flag them down and it costs the equivalent of 65p. Pay the driver when you get off. Oh and dont forget - the walk back up the hill on your return !!!
If arranged excursions are your choice, then a trip into Hisaranou to book with the local agencies will get you a better price. We paid £12 each for a full day out including lunch and entrance fees. Take english money with you - most of the shops and touring agencies take english money - in fact prefer it.
The tour we chose took us to Tlos ( Lycean tombs and ampitheatre - wear trainers if you want to climb up as our 'flip-flops' definitely hindered the ascent ! ) Then off to a trout farm for lunch - surreal but relaxing. Next stop - carpet factory - beware of the hard sell - I nearly came home with a turkish carpet but just managed to escape before my credit card jumped out of my purse !!! Last stop of the day was Saklikent - if you are physically able, hire the rubber shoes (2 lira) and brave the walk thru the river and then on thru the gorge - an amazing place.
Altogether for my first time in Turkey - a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday. Greenlands is well worth its 3 star rating - i would probably rate it 4 star. Unless you are prepared to travel into the town, I think teenagers might find it too quiet, youngsters will be ok if they like the pool and waterslide. By the time we left the hotel there were alot of turkish guests - prob 45%. So that gives you some idea of the quality. Totally chilled now, and chilly as its pouring with rain here in Norfolk. Got to work Monday and start saving up to go back in September.

My wife and I went to the Greenlands Hotel in Turkey for our Honeymoon. It was the best vacation we ever had. It was amazing.
We stated that we would like a double bed and it was there along with fresh fruit and a bottle of wine on entry to our room.
The room was air conditioned which works when your room door is closed. It was a god-send. The temperature peaked at 54 degrees centigrade on the hottest day.
The staff were excellent. The poolside entertainment was second to none. (They try to get everyone involved in their activities). The food was excellent. What more can I say.
You want an excellent retreat for yourself and the kids, and then this is it. The water was warm, the toilets clean, the food excellent, staff are amazing and very helpful (English speaking) and we felt right at home.
They have their own dolmus bus to run you down to the beach or to other places which is nice although the dolmus buses are really cheap anyway. The dolmus buses were stopping for us as we walked out of the complex and raised our hands.
They waited till we walked down the rest of the road and across a dual carriageway to get on their bus... even though the buses are frequent, you don't get this service in England do you?
The rooms are cleaned and bedding changed on a daily basis. A couple of times we woke up and went straight out leaving the bedding not made and clothes lying about.
When we came back, the bed was made, clothes folded and even the ashtray outside with a couple of "butts" in it was emptied, cleaned or replaced.
We went on a boat trip for the day, which run daily in the mornings. We went on the islands tour. It was really nice... even though the local boats selling freshly made pastries did get on your nerves as every time you stopped, they boarded and asked you if you wanted pastries. Nice to see though as you saw the old woman making them on the boat while following you.
I made the mistake of ordering the chicken dinner on the boat. I should have know better with working with food that around 60 people on a boat cooking with propane gas bottles at dinner time doesn't work.
I did suffer food poisoning because of this and on return to England, I had to take 3 days off work and go to the doctors for antibiotics.
Don’t let this put you off! Steer clear of the chicken dinner on the boats and you'll be fine. It was the only let down.... But I did not let this ruin the honeymoon in the slightest.
This is why I have still given the holiday 10 out of 10. The hotel is definitely worth it. No problems in the slightest from the hotel. We are definitely going back to the Greenlands Hotel, hopefully in 2007, and this time we will be taking the kids.
They will absolutely love it!
One more slight thing... the evening entertainment is not 100%, but is very likeable while drinking the bar dry on all-inclusive rates.
The best we saw was 4 break dancers doing dances and moves that are very hard to believe anyone could do. They were 10 out of 10.
All we can say is go for it and enjoy an absolutely fantastic holiday... you will not be disappointed... if you go we will be jealous...
Mr & Mrs C Dawson.

A last minute bargain, having been to Turkey before but not to the same area, it was a spur of the moment decision, booking only one week before departure.
We arrived in the dark, up a small track to a very quiet location.
The room was a very pleasant surprise, clean and welcoming. Morning brought even more pleasant surprises.
Breathtaking scenery and clear mountain air, breakfast was typically Turkish and plentiful, this is a small complex and very friendly, the staff were very helpful and everything you need is on site.
The food was varied and bread cooked fresh on the premises, although if you want bacon and eggs this may not be for you. As a lover of Turkish cuisine I was more than satisfied with the fare.
As we only had a week we did not venture as far into the countryside as we would have liked, we did go to the market in Fethiye (good buys are herbs and spices, leather goods and pashminas, you will pay 10 times the price in England, and haggling is a must).
A day boat trip was the perfect way to see the coastline, and swim in the crystal clear waters; it feels like swimming in silk.
One week was really not enough to enjoy the delights of the area and soak up the local atmosphere, but only whetted my appetite for more.
The only downside to the whole holiday was Sardine air, better known as Thomas Cook Travel; I really did not enjoy four and a half ours with my knees stuck up my nose!
I would recommend the Greenland Hotel to anyone looking for a tranquil holiday (even with the kids slide in the pool) close to lots of amenities, there is a free shuttle to Olu Deniz and a private beach at the Blue Lagoon.
The food at the hotel is delightful, and freshly cooked to demand. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are helpful and friendly.
The animation team are the hardest working bunch I have ever come across without being intrusive to the lazier holiday maker.
I will be returning to Olu Deniz this October but for two weeks not one.

We wasn’t sure when booking through Teletext as they were company names I’ve never heard of, but we were delightfully surprised, we paid 750 for the both of us, me and my partner for 2 weeks all inc, we flew with first choice and I was a bit confused when we got to the airport I went to see the first choice rep, who s list we were not on, but across the way was chapa travel rep, who’s list we were on thankfully.
We were taken by private car to are resort as we were the only guests on that flight, we were very impressed as we got own car, no drop offs witch meant we arrived in 45 mins rather than 1 hr 45 mins. We arrived at the hotel just after 12 pm, so we could not take advantage of the all as it ends at 12 pm, but we were given a cheese and tomato butty, went down very well! Taken to are rooms we were pleased to see a stocked mini bar, not just soft drinks and beer but chocolate, cakes, nuts, a good little munch. But they are not free, you must pay at the end of your stay, it s not badly priced.
The hotel is small but friendly, there is only 1 restaurant were breakfast, dinner and tea is severed. Food is very same, same, cheese, bread, salad, they do change the soup daily and the hot meals that they have on offer, these only 5 hot dishes though, i.e chips or rice, veg, stew, meatballs, fried turkey, chicken donner.
You can get snacks 2-6, which is pizza or burgers or chips, basic but fills the hole. The alcoholic drinks aren’t great, you can have beer vodka gin bandy, red or white wine, everything else you must pay for.
You must go into Hisaronu only short bus trip excellent value for money on meals, we ate out almost every other night, we would have a starter each and main course i.e. Steak 22oz and 2 beers and 2 wines and cost was about £20-£25.
The room was adequate, the TV only had 1 English channel with like Smallville, Simpsons on, there was also English sport news music channels.
The evening entertainment was different every night also ended with the same dance and tunes, the sketch show night was the best, also had music quiz, bingo night, and break-dancer, they are all the ones we watch, the lads who do the entertainment, are brilliant, work, make you laugh, and know where all the best food is served in town, and the best places to shop.
Its not a luxury hotel, but it isn’t a dive either, it s a friendly homely hotel, there's young to old couples, wasn’t any screaming kids or drunk people, I would come back again definitely, just take more money to eat out, don’t bother taken euros here, take pounds for your shopping and lira for the food, you get ripped of using euro.

I Have recently returned from Greenlands Hotel after spending the first week of October there by myself. After a pleasant welcome at reception at 2 a.m. Was escorted to my room. It was everything that you could wish for, clean, spacious, comfortable, with phone, T.V. and air conditioning.
The next morning I woke to bright sunshine and leaving the room I was amazed at the views of the mountains looming up to the rear of the hotel. For the rest of the week I just ate, drank, and relaxed. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice at every meal, the staff were always busy cleaning and clearing the tables between courses. At the pool bar other guests were always friendly, and the bar staff were efficient and talkative, as they were at the pub bar.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend time relaxing and chilling out. I returned home completely relaxed and refreshed and look forward to returning again next year.

What a lovely holiday we had. The food was very good, giving a good variety every day. Although the pool was very cold it was nice and refreshing in the very hot temperatures and we loved the slide and played on it all of the time.
The rooms were very nice and clean and quite spacious, quite enough for a week. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the entertainment. The 3 lads that were responsible for the entertainment work so hard and do their best but more effort should be taken and more money spent on good entertainment but that would keep too many people in the hotel in the evening and we would be getting too much value for money, as far as the all inclusive is concerned, drinking all of their beer!
No problems at all in fact we have even booked again for 2007 we enjoyed it so much. 2 x Adults aged 46 & 41.

Very clean, excellent food in quality and variety. Very good pool with slide. Staff friendly and helpful. Accomadation avarege and very clean with a television.
No loud teenagers. Big enough for numbers of people but small enough to get to know each other. Superb setting (photos don’t do it justice). Entertainment could be a little bit better as could the beer (Tuborg).
A little bit more management visibility in the reception area needed. 10 mins to beach. Very good hotel. ideal for families with young children and couples but teenage kids may get board. Would go back and would recommend.

Wow! What a holiday. First time to turkey and first time all inclusive. Hotel very clean, staff helpful and try to speak English- more than I tried speaking Turkish. Food of a very high quality and a separate kids menu and restaurant is available and supervised by the kid’s club rep. Entertainment day and night and participation from the guests is a must and makes it even funnier. The entertainment team consists of 4,a female kids club rep and 3 lads all of whom are a great laugh. The hotel is set on a hillside but the scenery is out of this world. You will need to use the bus service or do as we done and use a taxi. We were a party of three and our son is a wheelchair user. He had no problems around the hotel but Monday market in hisarano, the ground is so rough it made it difficult. Fethiye market on Tuesdays is much bigger and easier to get around but go early( 8am ) as by 10.30 both markets are packed. We enjoyed our holiday so much that we booked for next year- same hotel, same date before we left this year but as a bigger party.

Hotel was excellent value and the staff could not do enough for us.
Short distance to Olu Deniz but free hotel bus if you don’t mind going at 10.30am and being picked back up at 4.30pm. Food varied and very nice, even offered to cook other options if you did not like the food on offer, cant ask for more than that can you. Hotel rather remote for having a walk out but local buses clean, cheap and run regular.
Taxis around £4 into Hisaronu, not much happening in the day but comes alive at night, cheap to eat and drink if you fancy a change of scenery.
Hotel is kept spotless and rooms are always cleaned.

The hotel was very clean and nice but the food really let the hotel down. There was not enough variety, every day meatballs was on the menu either in sauce or out. The choice of vegetables consisted of mostly rice. Only 1 day out of 7 did we have mixed fresh veg accompanied by mashed potato. Chips was only on the menu twice for evening meal. Breakfast was only acceptable due to chefs cooking fresh omelettes or fried eggs but bacon did not appear at all.
It was a shame as the hotel accommodation was really good.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful but 1 or 2 were unhelpful and surly only serving the people who gave tips .
I would not return to this hotel!
