Just returned from a week at the Blue Bay, staying All Inclusive.
As mentioned by others, the accommodation is very good, clean and spacious, though a little clinical and sparse on furniture.
Generally, the food is also of a high standard, though more variation of the cooked food for breakfast would be nice, and I would probably get bored of the meals if I were staying for two weeks. There is a good variety of food to choose from for lunch and dinner, both hot and cold, and my wife especially loved the salads that were available.
They have fully paved the pool area and added more sunbeds and umbrellas (which are fixed in place), but, as always, you need to be up early to reserve your beds under an umbrella.
Our son loved the Kids Club and went to every session that he could, and also we booked him into three of the Soccer School sessions which he really enjoyed. If you want to book your child into a session, get there 15 minutes before it starts or else you will be waiting over half an hour as it does get busy.
We were not plagued by wasps (too early in the season?) and apparently they have done something to the nature reserve to keep the number of mosquitoes down. They were still around but not in great numbers. We took anti mosquito spray and were not bothered too much, and a lot of people had brought special candles to burn in the evening in the outdoor bars, which seemed a good idea.
The evening entertainment isn’t great, but enjoy it for what it is. The entertainment crew work hard (special mention for Michael and Denise for Grease!) and it is fun if you don’t expect too much.
We all had a great time, even though it rained for 4 out of seven days, including, on our last day, one of the worst storms that the hotel management had seen.
