Marriott Kensington London Hotel

Arrived from the airport around 9:00 am, concierge immediately took our luggage to store. Front desk told us there were no rooms ready yet but she would have one ready for us by noon. We expected this anyway and thought noon was better than the normal check in time of 2:00 so we were happy. we had a street map with us from Fodor's and I had studied it for weeks so we felt very comfortable with area immediately. also, had lots of info from talfers, thanks! Just back from a 12 night stay for business. Overall, it was fine - not amazing - but fine. The room was rather small - not sure what I expected but it wasn't huge. Smaller than Marriott rooms in the US. Closet had a strange, bad, smell. Bathroom was updated, but small too. Over the course of the twelve nights, service was generally OK but some minor problems that were kind of annoying - turndown service missed a few times, housekeeping not doing a full job every time, etc. The location is fine - about a 1/2 hr Tube ride to the City... more

Just got back from 2 day stay in this hotel . Everything was excellent. Only slight gripe was that at breakfast on Sunday there was a queue a mile long and we were put in "internet corner" not in the restaurant and then got slightly overlooked. But everything else was fine -lovely leisure club. Would def stay here again.

Excellent value. We booked a one night stay. Expedia got us a Sunday night stayover deal that included a Harrod's gift certificate worht 50 pounds and a free breakfast at the hotel. We used the gift at Harrod's without difficulty Sunday afternoon. (The pizza restaurant at Harrod's was slow to debit the card because the accounting who needed to verify it only had one person working on Sunday afternoon. The hotel was as expected, per the reviews I read. The room was upgraded for me because I arrived early (about 10:30AM), and it was the only one ready. The staff was very accomodating. The location was a pleasant 6-7 minute walk from the Gloucester Road tube stop (District, Circle, Picadilly lines).Nice health club and pool. Full breakfast was included, and I got a 100 pound voucher for a future Marriott European stay. The room was pricey, about $250 per night.

Reading previous reviewers' comments, we were excited to check in to the London Kensington Marriott in July for three days. As Marriott Reward members, we had stayed in Marriott hotels in the US and Europe many times and were acquainted with the normally excellent value and locations. But we were shocked to find the London Kensington to be the exception. I stayed at the Marriott Hotel Kensington for 2 Nights in July 2006. This was a business trip, and the hotel is well suited for meetings both in "downtown" areas of London or out the M4. With the quick Tube access it is easy to get to Waterloo or Paddington Train Stations. The rooms were very clean, with the upgraded beds. Our family of four (including mom, dad, and two teenage daughters) stayed for four nights at the Marriott Kensington. Spacious room, large bathroom, and most importantly, very clean. The staff was helpful, the executive lounge was a huge help for a quick breakfast and a light evening snack. It is about a five minute walk to the metro station, but the streets are safe and well-lit. I highly recommend this for a family travelling in London!!!

We stayed here for one night and our room was spacious, with a really comfortable bed. The bathroom was large with a bath and shower and a good selection of toiletries. The health club was fantastic, the member of staff on duty was really helpful and let us walk round the facilities before we decided to use them. My husband and I stayed here on the first night of our 30th anniversary 2 week tour of Great Britain. Having visited London 5 years earlier, we were aware that the size and quality of hotel rooms in London was variable, so we really didn't know what to expect.
