Hotel is full of people aged 60+ so if you are looking for a quiet holiday this is ideal. Room was cleaned every day. Staff all seemed friendly but entertainment was not very good at night.no complaints about food there was a good choice at every meal.

Palama Nova Palace - tried it didnt like it!!
Recently returned from a five night stay at the palma nova palace hotel in Palma Nova. How on earth this can be rated as a 4 star hotel or be named a palace I will never know. The reception staff found it too much trouble to speak to you. The rep from Airtours asked me if i booked with Airtours whilst I was sitting in the reception area just attempting to make polite conversation with her, how rude!! The next night she was upset as someone had been screaming her, I wonder why!! The hotel was fairly new, seems must have been built on a spare bit of land that was 50 times longer than it was wide, like a long passage way. Dreadful design. How can a four star hotel not have an inddor pool, no toiletries in bathroom whatsoever, the most basic room I have ever stayed in, I would be far pushed to class it as a 3 star!! the only positive comment I have is the food was very good, plenty of choice for everyone and the restaraunt staff were lovely. Bar staff were o.k. too, it was all inclusive, but you were restricted to 3 drinks per person, hardly what you need if one person going to the bar for 4 of you, like being in school. The location of the hotel was not the best either, not far to cut down some side streets to the beach, but no shops or bars around the hotel and it was just off the main road so very noisy traffic, although you couldnt hear it inside. I would not recommend this hotel to stay in unless you got it at a bargain price. We booked on the internet with an accomodation agent named xcapewithus who were excellent. Palma Nova resort is very nice all you could want on a holiday lovely shops bars and restaraunts all along the front, I would definately go here again but not at the Palma Nova Palace.
Good Value
We had a 3 day break with friends at this hotel good value for the money we paid for all inclusive, the hotel was clean and the food was good, the breakfast was excellent real sausage and even the bacon was very tasty unusual for Spain. The only down side was most of the staff where miserable even the entertainer, the waiting staff had no manners leaning over your face while you where in the middle of putting food in your mouth to remove plates, even when we passed things over they would not even acknowledge you. Would not stay in the summer months the pool and sun loungers are inadequate for the size of the hotel. We had great weather for the 3 days would go back again for a winter break.
Excellent Value for money
Returned from the Palma Nova Palace on Nov 4th . . .been there for a week . . .Value for money was excellent after paying only £232 for a package holiday all inclusive for a week with Mytravel. The hotel is clean although small, the restaurant is limited in options but always plenty of food and well cooked, it was a bit repetitive but suppose that was too be expected in a small hotel, the restaurant is busy but we managed to get a table whatever time we went. I agree there was alot of old people in the hotel, but i'm 31 and got into a crowd of about 20 who were all around 20-40, and we had a good time. There was bingo everynight and old time dancing but there was Karaoke and a few shows, we usually had a few drinks by the pool at night, a wander around Palma Nova or Magaluf, and either finished off in the hotel bar or went and got seriously drunk in Magaluf. You are limited to 3 drinks per person at any time and there was only 1 night when people from 3 hotels could use the hotel that I would say the queues were excessive. The selection of drinks were excellent and the lager/beer wasnt bad for spanish lager either. The animacion team work hard and thats your scene theres always games of pool, darts, skittle etc going on and being all adults seem to be a good laugh. The pool The location aint bad, I wouldnt of like to have been in Magaluf but your only about 15 minutes walk from the nightlife ... Palma Nova itself is 100m away and very pleasant. Id definately go to Palma Nova again aint the location of this hotel aint too bad. Overall EXCELLENT VALUE for money!!!! Service and Standards were very good. Restaurant is small, selection of food a little limited, drinks are good. Hotel does have alot of old people this time of year, location is excellent. IF YOUR PAYING THE KINDA MONEY WE PAID ITS EXCELLENT VALUE!!!!
not a 4 star hotel
the food was cooked well but very boring chicken and hack every night. hotel is clean but not 4 star material. the pool gets very little sun loungers have to be moved round all day to get any sun not enough sun loungers for even half the guests.entertainment is bingo followed by 1 hour of show and then music. have been to other 4 star hotels and would rate this as a 2 star plus bar drinks tasted different every night we decided it could have been the lemon but even when we asked for no lemon and ice staff just ignored us had to move room because the smell in the room was so bad was told only other room available was a room with no view on top of the church but the room we vacated was then throughly cleaned and let to someone else we had asked for the room to be cleaned and was told it wouldnt solve the problem
Lovely hotel
Stayed at the Palma Nova Palace early October 2005 - it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in - the food is wonderful, plentiful, hot, delicious, and way too fattening!! Drinks are plentiful if you want them to be. The entertainment is the usual holiday standard but what I liked is the fact that all the music goes off at midnight so you can ensure a good nights sleep after that with no disturbances - except if you, like us, had an amourous couple in the next room, oh pleeeease......keep the noise down! Walls are thin!! Weather was a bit mixed but when the sun does shine it is glorious, beaches are beautiful just a five minute walk away from the hotel. Big bonus is no kids!! Peaceful round the pool bar - lovely. All in all we would definitely go back here - its got the lot (maybe not for youngsters) but if you're over 40 and like it peaceful this is the one for you!
Fantastic Food Best we have ever had.
My husband and myself stayed there in September 2005. We went for our silver wedding anniversary. The staff are soooooooo friendly and work very hard to please you.The room was spotless and the maid changed our towels every day, and sheets about 4 times in the fortnight. When the head Waiter and Waitress found out about our Silver Wedding, they did a special meal in the restaraunt downstairs with bottles of champagne and flowers, it was great. The food here is unbelievable, and there are loads of choices. We have travelled the world and this hotels food is one of thebest we have had.We couldnt believe the lager was San Miguel and it was lovely. The thing that lets them down is the pool, there are about 80 beds for over 300 guests, the pool is small. It was funny in the morning watching them all fight for them. We went to the beautiful beach which is only 10 minutes away. The entertainment at night was ok ive seen better and ive seen worse, but hey at least there was some!!! and we won bingo twice while we were there.!! We met some great people too. Palma Nova is a wonderful place and we would go back again in the future.
great holiday
Stayed at the hotel for two weeks from the 27/08/05-10/09/05 The food was very good staff very friendly we did not have any complaints about any of the staff. The overall holiday was fantastic. Entertanment could be better, the pool not big enough for the size of the hotel did not worry us as the beach was only a ten min walk a way As for being over 50 any holiday is what you make it your self, nothing to do with what age you are. We would go back for another holiday to this hotel
dont go if under fifty years of age
thought the hotel food fantastic excellent service by all the staff, very friendly and spotlessly clean. Evening entertainment was repetative ok if you are into bingo and same tape of music every night. Have to queue up at 9. 00am every morning as the sunbeds are not released till then and there is usually a fight for the best plot where you can get the sun as it is limited throughout the day. Overall we did enjoy it but if your under fifty its not a place to go.
4 star rating? Needs to be reviewed!
After returning from our holiday to Palma Nova Palace we were disappointed with certain aspects of the hotel and the staff. After booking our holiday we were dubious after reading reports which were disappointing and made us wary about whether we had booked the right holiday for us. This was our first holiday all inclusive and were looking forward to unlimited food and drinks. we arrived at the hotel the early hours of the morning, we were impressed with the reception area and the clenliness and the receptionist was friendly, however failed to tell us meal times or the way to the pool for in the morning. We were impressed with the room we were allocated, it was large, clean and offered us a pool view. We then expected the reviews we had read were wrong. We were surprised with the size of the restaurant as it was seemingly small compared to the size of the hotel. One of the mornings there was no table available for us to eat our breakfast. We were pleased with the buffet available for our first dinner time there with a nice selection. However. this was repeted every dinner time and for our evening meals. The food was bland and ok if you like chips and salad everyday!! After about 3 days we often ate out of the hotel as we wanted food with some taste. Pizza Nova is a great place for snacks all throughout the day. There was no snack bar in the hotel and only one buffet restaurant for food. Also while you are in the restaurant the waiter staff did nothing but collect plates and sometimes collected our cultery before we had used them. You have to collect your own drinks with only water, white wine or red wine. Overall we were disappointed with the food and the waiter staff were so rude and had no interaction with the guests of the hotel. The pool area was small and you have to be an early riser to get a sunbed as when they are unlocked at 9 in the morning people are running for them. Also there is always shade in one part of the pool area and unless you move your sunbed ten times a day it is impossible to get sun all day. However this was not an issue for us. We found the bar staff friendly, which was nice as the rest of the staff in the hotel were rude and we found this out particularly on our final day of our holiday. We wanted to pay for a late checkout room but was informed there was no room available in the hotel. Our flight was not until 4 o clock the next morning but we checked out at 12 the previous morning but told there would be a shower available for us to use. However at 7 in the evening we were told there was no shower and we would have to freshen up in the toilet but after much deliberation we were told we would have to use the hotel next door, hotel palma nova. this was a lot better than our hotel and was a 3 star. The only thing 4 star about our hotel was the cleanliness throughout the hotel, poolside, bar area and our room. The reception staff are particularly rude, they spoke as if we was stupid and didn't understand what they were saying. When really we did understand but we couldn't believe the way we were being spoken to. we would definintely go back to the resort but never this hotel again, was very disappointed with what we experienced.
Nice relaxing break
Stayed at the Palma Nova Palace April 24th - 28th. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful during the day, thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It's true there are a lot of old people at the hotel and we did find it a bit boring on an evening because the entertainment was geared towards the older guests. There are however plenty of lively bars in Palma Nova a short walk away or a taxi ride to Magaluf if you want even more lively. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite and the food was probably the best we have ever had in a European hotel. It was also kept very hot. One downside - on several nights we had to queue for around 15 mins just to get into the dining room. This also happend on a couple of the mornings too. We were told that this was because the hotel had overbooked and although the spill over guests were put in the Palma Nova Hotel opposite they were still using the facilities at Palma Nova Palace. You do have to get up early to get a sunbed but as I'm an early riser didn't have much of a problem myself. After about 8.30am all the sunbeds were taken. There was one night when the queues at the bar were ridiculous. People were getting rounds of drinks for about 12 people and consiquently you were queuing for a mimimum of 20 minutes each time at the bar. I didn't see my husband for most of the night. We noticed that the following evening, after receiving several complaints, management had restircted people to ordering 2 drinks per person, this made things much better and you no longer needed to queue at the bar. The people who were getting rounds of drinks were then complaining that they could only get 2 drinks (can't please everyone). This did make it a lot fairer for everyone else. Looking forward to a trip there again same time next year when we intend to go out for the evening entertainment.
