Great Hotel!!!
This is a great hotel to stay at, considering the low rates they offer. I had a clean and comfortable room. Andrej, one of the front desk staff, was absolutely wonderful in helping me order food for delivery, even after midnight. The breakfast selection and service was excellent and much better than other Express Holiday Inns I've stayed at in the UK. Nothing fancy, but a great bed and place to stay in the center of Birmingham.
It's a Holiday Inn Express
For those who've stayed in Holiday Inn Expresses before, they won't be surprised to discover that this one's pretty much identical to all the others. However, it appears to be a very new one. Not the sort of hotel you'd want for a romantic weekend away with the other half (but to be honest, would you really go to Birmingham for that?) but for a one-night business stopover like I did it's ideal. It's true that it's on a non-descript side street. It's not true that the city centre is far away. It's a 10 minute walk at most, but you... more
Excellent Value
Got a two single bed room here for GBP57/night and was very impressed. The hotel is pretty central in Birmingham, and easy walk to the centre. The check-in girl from Cape Town was very friendly, the room was nice and better than expected for the price. The breakfast was served until 11-30 and was more than adequate considering it was included. The hotel was superior to the more expensive Holiday Inn at Queensway and I will definitely stay here when I am in Birmingham.
Excellent Budget Hotel
I would recommend this hotel to everyone ! Great staff , clean rooms and close to the major shopping areas ! The room I stayed was clean , lots of space and very nice . There where extra towels and extra pillows supplied . The staff was friendly and professional . The breakfast bar was great , lots of fresh fruit , cereal , warm croissants , toast , jams and marmalades , tea , coffee , milk and a complimentary free newspaper every morning ! I felt very welcome !
thumbs up for the holiday inn express- birmingham
For a budget hotel this was ideal. The location was close to shops and attractions. The complementary breakfast was much better than I expected and the rooms were good. Other than check in we had little need to link in with staff but when we did the staff responded quickly and efficiently. I would definately stay here again and recommend it as a good budget option.
very mediocre
This is a soul-less hotel with unhelpful staff who actually billed my credit card without my authorisation.
Shocking!
I will never stay at this hotel again. The service at the front desk was terrible. He was rude and not helpful at all. The parking was a nightmare. Even though its advertised as having parking, it hasnt. The room was small and cold. The TV didnt work, and when i phoned to get it fixed, nobody turned up. The noise from outside at night was so loud. this isnt the hotels fault, but the fact that there isnt double glazing in the rooms is! I will never stay here again, and not reccomend it to anyone!!
adequate
I booked this hotel after reading the great reviews. It turned out to be an average holiday inn experience. Clean but basic, and not convenient for the city centre. As I was travelling with my sister and young niece, we wanted somewhere within walking distance of everywhere. This hotel was not. We spent £50 on taxis over 2 days getting to and from the shops, which we had not budgeted for. As the hotel was up a dark side street, we also did not feel safe walking out at night. A good price but I would prefer to have paid more for a more... more
Holiday Inn Express - the best budget hotels
This hotel is located very close to New Street Station and the main shopping complexes the Bullring and the Mailbox. It is a fairly modern building and has that distinct budget air about it - what you see is what you get. The reception staff was very friendly and even allowed me to check in very early. My room on the third floor was well appointed and looked exactly like the room I stayed in when overnighting in their Berlin Anhalter Bahnhof property. There was a double bed and a sofa that could convert into a bed - the maximum... more
Perfect
It's the best place to stay in Birmingham.! fantastic locations, about a 5 minute walk to Broad Street, 10 ish to New Street and the Mailbox. The hotel is large and minimal in design, blue and wood bedrooms are very clean and well presented with tv, desk, telephone coffee/tv making. the bath room is small but very clean. the staff are very friendly, and are always more then happy to help with anything, from forgetting toothpaste to directions. the breakfast is also very good, and provides a good start to the morning!<br... more
