Classic Victorian architecture and amazing location close to the tube with the lovely Russell Square right in front of it.
Historic building with modern facilities so it was warm and welcoming on a cold wet night.
My single room was refurbished and comfortable, with a large bathroom. Plenty of hot water! Hospitality tray - sadly no biscuit!!
As it was only for one night I didn't mind that I had a view of the inner well; I was glad that I was high above the air-con units which may have been noisy.
Excellent breakfast choice in the large, Victorian dining room. No morning papers were left to be had, even though I was eating early. This was disappointing as a table of 4 American visitors had one each and left them spread out on the floor.
The staff were very professional and cleared them up immediately.
Will def use this hotel again provided I can get a room within the firm's budget!

As part of a business trip in London I stayed at this hotel for a few nights. It sits right in the heart of London just off a busy main road. From Paddington it took roughly 10 minutes by Taxi to get there, and only cost about £8-£10.
The hotel was surprisingly posh. When we arrived there was 2 door men opened the door for us. The reception is very grand, typical of the old style building it was in. Staff at the reception were quick and friendly.
The rooms were once again very nice, nothing looked shabby or worn. There was a mini bar, TV, air conditioning, hair dryer, shower etc.
We never had a chance to sample the bar, or the breakfast as things were so rushed. Which was slightly disappointing, I had the impression it would have been very nice, and maybe expensive but worth it.
I would certainly stay here again.

Have now stayed twice at the Jurys Great Russell Street Hotel & will most definitely stay there again for location alone. The hotel is ideally located - within easy walking distance of the west end theatres, Covent Garden & Leicester square and Tottenham Court Rd tube just round the corner.
The rooms are a good standard with nice toiletries, bath robes & slippers but don’t expect much of a view from your room. As the hotel is not a main road the outside noise is not too bad either for central London.
Continental breakfast choice was not very exciting but sufficient & the hotel bar is very small for such & I found the service to be a little slow. However overall I would recommend this hotel for a London short break.
