"Blackpool in the sun. Full of Brits, not very Spanish. Hotel was very basic & in need of updating. Rooms small & if you are on the road side very noisy. Previous comments about paper thin walls is true so take your ear plugs! Saying that the staff were really nice & helpful the food was of good quality and the Thomas Cook reps really hard working. The children’s clubs mentioned on some web sites is non existent & the fun room was musty and never open so if your hoping for the kids to be entertained during the day this isn't the one for you. The reps did a hour for the kids in the evening disco/party games which was good. Location is okay, just between torranova & palmanova, 5 mins walk to palmanova beach, the only problem is the hill in the heat its unbearable and with that and the poor lifts i wouldn't recommend it for people with mobility problems, 10 floors. Pool area was too small for the size of the hotel and as always the sunbeds were reserved very early in the morning with no obvious intervention by the hotel which meant if you are up after 9.30 your unlikely to get a spot by the pool. Make sure you budget for the rip off safety deposit boxes too, in my opinion should be free! "
Top Tip:
"Palmanova beach was nice & access for disabled on beach,.with lifeguards looking after people really well. Lovely little restaurant just opposite the playground. Western water park was a good day out & at the time of our visit macdonalds were doing vouchers for free kids, its much better than aqualand. Marineland good day & they have access a quiet little beac so take your towel. Taxis reasonable so would recommend flagging one down than tackling that hill! & only 30euros to the airport better than waiting for the transfer bus.

We have just returned from2 weeks in the Mimosa Park, and it was excellent, the weather was brilliant, we had our grandaughter with us, she had a ball, the entertainers are the tops they work so hard, and the kids love them.
My grandaughter won lots of certificates, which made her holiday. David, Claire, Lisa and Kez worked so hard and such long hours, with us coming from Scotland and David being Scottish we had a few wee things in common so that was good.
The only downside i would say is the lifts oh are they slow, walking down from the 6th floor was ok but going back up, I only done it once.
Also my grandaughter who is 10 wanted just a plain salad, andI asked for one, she didnt want chicken or tuna, she was given a salad that an adult would have difficulty eating there was so much, they dont do kids menu at the poolside bar, and also i was charged nearly 5euros for it as they dont just have a plain salad, so i had to pay for a chicken one. Thats one thing that annoyed me otherwise its excellent and i would highly recommend it.

Just got home from our hols in majorca. well, as i had read quite a few bad reviews on the net about this hotel, i was a bit apprehensive as i was travelling with 2 children of 8 and 6. I had not been in Spain since 1996 and i was delighted by the actual hotel itself. yes, the rooms were basic, but at the end of the day you are only in your room to basically sleep!! there were clean towels every day, fab air conditioning, and the maids were in every day to make beds. the meals were very good, although not that much choice for kids. the breakfasts were beautiful. being a cook myself overall the food side was excellent and very clean dining room. the staff within the dining room and bar areas were lovely and very polite., willing to see to your every need. then the entertainment staff, ( david, claire, kez and lisa) well they were absolutely fantastic!! 200%!!! my kids absolutely loved them, especially david! they worked so hard every day to entertain us and being scottish like david, i had a few nice converstions with him.
My only complaint about this hotel was the noise early on in the morning when the magaluf clubbers were coming home, i dont know what they were doing when they returned but some nights it was as though they were moving beds. the walls in the hotel are paper thin, so the mimosa park should make up their minds whether they are a family hotel or a hotel for all the young clubbers.
overall though, a very good holiday and again hooray for the entertainment staff for a great time. oh, and yes the weather was fantastic!!

My family and I have just returned from a two week stay at this hotel in Palma Nova, It was a Fantastic Hotel!! The Thomas Cook reps and entertainment team worked very hard to make your holiday enjoyable. the entertainment was fantastic and the children were entertained all day. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was fantastic, so we have all put on loads of weight. The only downsides to the hotel was that the bathrooms where a bit old, and needed a bit of modernisation. The rooms also could have done with a fridge. But the main problem was that even though the hotel is sold as a family hotel the hotel tends to take in bookings from groups of youths, as it is cheeper for them to stay in Palma Nova than in Magalluf. With the hotel a ten min walk away from Magalluf it is very popular, with this age group. This is where we found a lot of problems. We were woken up (Myself and my two young children) around four in the morning, by groups of youths coming back drunk from Magalluf. Alot of them met up with other groups, and tried to carry on partying while we slept. A few nights it got so bad that the security had to be called. But Emma our Thomas Cook rep, worked very hard to rectify the problems leading to a number of them being removed from the Hotel.
As a Mother of two children I would honestly say that even though the hotel was great and the Staff were fabulous, Palma Nova and Magaluff IS NOT REALLY A FAMILY RESORT NOR IS IT REALLY SUITABLE. It was full of drunken youths spilling over from Magalluf shouting and swearing. The sea weas dirty with cigg butts and bottle tops, and the shops sold adult material in full view, in some cases near items aimed at children. By the end of the holiday my children where not allowed in any of the shops, and we dared not take them out of the hotel after nine in the everning. I would recomend this resort to a young group wanting a drinking clubbing holiday not a family with children.

Arrived on 5th July and was pleasantly surprised with our room which was of a good size and was on the top floor (9th) with a sea view, just as we had requested. I would advise anyone going to this hotel to request this as the front of the hotel looks on to a busy road and am sure will be very noisy at night. The food was varied and could not be faulted, carvery every night as well as other meats, fish, salads and plenty deserts. Breakfast had you spoiled for choice, cereals, juices, breads, sausages, eggs boiled, scrambled fried, bacon, croissants, coffee etc. Now for the down side....... if you are over 25, as we certainly are, you will be like derby and jones! Groups of girls and guys from 18 to 20's not as were led to believe, a family hotel. One afternoon around 5ish just when you feel its time to cool down with a wee beer at the pool bar, we were met with a group of 15 tattoo'd english yobs, loud, drunk and being total pain in the necks, we did think to ourselves what are we doing here but thankfully, we never saw them again.....probably in Palma Nova zoo!
All in all, good food, clean hotel, good location, make sure you get room at back but be prepared for being wakened up at 5am with the 18-25 year old clubbers banging on doors etc............happy hols, definitely a young ones hotel. !

Booked this hotel last minuet and was rather aprehensive but wanted to go from our local airport and this seemed like a good deal. Read lots of reviews and decided it would probably be ok. Went with my 19 year old daughter to what I expected to be a family hotel. The only advice I can give anyone thinking of going to this hotel with a family is dont ! If you are over 30 dont go this is a young persons hotel with lots of young groups of girls and lads. We went allinclusive and the food was ok but got to be a bit boaring towards the end of the week, the food at the pool bar is not part of the deal which is quite annoying as this is the only place you can sit outside and eat. We moved rooms 3 times in the first 24 hours as the first 2 were on the front of the hotel which is on a very busy road and the noise at night was very loud and kept you awake. We eventualy got a room at the back of the hotel only to be next to a group of lads that came back from clubbing in Magaluf at 5 in the morning and put on rave music full blast and shouted and screemed from the balcony or threw up and we had to listen to it as the walls are paper thin. The hotel is very dated and scruffy there is carpet on the stairs and hallways which is stained and threadbare and in the week we were there we never saw it being cleaned. The rooms are ok but again very basic and dated. The place was mainly full of stag and hen partys and although the lads that we met were all realy nice and polite they were there to party and party they did!. The travel companies that are selling holidays at this hotel need to make their minds up they should sell it as a young party hotel or a family hotel you cant mix the 2, if I had been there with young children I would have been very unhappy, lads will be lads lots of drinking by the pool lots of noise and swearing. We had great wheather and just went with the flow, we met some great people and I cant say we did'nt have a good time but this hotel wasn't what we expected and I would never in a million years go back !

Just back from Mimosa Park Hotel last week. Had a brilliant week. Some of the reviews that I had read on here previous to going were negative but they were proved wrong. The food was brilliant, great selection all day every day, rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels, floor mopped & sheets changed during our stay. There was a skincare advisor available daily incase of sunburn/sunstroke. The staff were really friendly, they need to be paid more. The 2 of the reception staff were English speaking. The Thomas Cook entertainers were excellent and kept us entertained all day long. The lifeguard at the pool was on hand from 10 am to assist with any cuts/bumps etc.
I'm stopping short of 10/10 as the only disadvantage was the stag/hen parties that give holiday makers from the UK a bad name with the noise late at night going out & coming in. Although we heard that a group had been thrown out for disorderly behaviour during our stay.
Great hotel for families - central to Palma Nova playa, 30 mins by bus to Palma - shopping centre Porto Pi, 30 mins from airport. Excellent courtesy rooms for showering if you have a late flight after check-out.

I am EXTREMELY fussy and so was worried that the hotel may be dirty or the food would be bad!
However, the room was very clean, the maid came daily to clean and replace the towels. The pool was great (though very cold), choice of food was fab, weather great and the entertainment team (Kez, David, Lisa and Claire) couldn't have worked any harder!!!
Excellent value for money, i would definately return!!!

I have just returned to Slough after a weeks break at the Mimosa Park Hotel in Palma Nova with my two children of 7 and 8yrs and it was fantastic. The hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The room was cleaned and beds made daily and our towels were also changed daily if neccessary.
The staff were polite and friendly and the Thomas Cook reps worked day and night to ensure everyone had a good time and they took time to come and talk to you and get to know you and the kids on a first name basis which was nice.
The food was superb with wide varieties of salad, cold meats and different hot dishes each day and there was always something for even the fussiest of eaters.
The evening entertainment was excellent and most of the time the Thomas Cook reps out did the entertainers that came in from outside the Hotel which was impressive.
The beach in Palma Nova was beautiful and there were plenty of water activities to get stuck into from banana boats to jetskis (although it was quite expensive, 90 euros for two of you on a jetski!!) and there were plenty of english run bars serving food if you just wanted sausage and chips for the kids when you were out.
The only fault with the Mimosa Park was the large groups of loud spanish teenagers that seemed to be turning up by the coach load and seemed to take over the pool area in the daytime which is why I have given it a rating of 9 out 10 but the evening entertainment was in english so they all seemed to disappear at night which relaxed the environment for those with children so you could enjoy the evenings without having to worry. Overall a fantastic holiday!

the hotel is pretty clean, the housekeepers change ur sheets each day and towels. walls are definitly paper thin, there was 3 nights where it was so noisey of the floor our room was in as there was a stag do and hen do. the reps do there best to keep everyone entertained, the local spirits where discusting, but the beer was fine, the food i thought wa fine, chicken, fish, pork, every night abd the salads were great, getting a sun bed was no problems as the weather wasent great, rained and lightnig on 2 days, all in all palma nova was great, go see the pirate show well worth the money, we got a taxi 4-5 euro,s, and the stadium bar has different acts each night, tho they say its buy one get one free but 2 smernoff and coke was 13 euros so felt like we were being ripped off, but still a good night out. enjoy.....

I have just returned from a week at the mimosa park hotel and i thought it was brilliant.
The hotel was always clean as were the rooms everyday. There were always alot of selection of food each day. The pool area was clean and my kids enjoyed it. The staff couldnt do enough for you they were very helpful! Also the entertainment team ( Kez, Claire, Lisa & David were brilliant 10 points to them!)

Just got from a week at the Mimosa Park with my family (Wife and 2 kids aged 7 & 8). Had a superb time. I was really apprehensive about going because of reading some of the feedback/reviews on here about this hotel. But my concerns were totally unnecessary. OK, i have to admit that we didn't have a great start as we arrived at 2am because our flights were delayed and when we had unpacked our stuff we found that the door lock to our room didn't work. To cut a long story short it took 4 trips up and down the elevator with a security guy and me eventually growling at the man on reception before they moved us to another room, which did involve me having to move one of the beds with the security guy. But after that everything was fine.
Yes the rooms could probably do with a bit of updating but they are kept clean and the maids visit everyday leaving the room clean and fresh towels every day. The walls are a bit on the thin side and sometimes you can hear a bit of noise but wasn't any problem at all. I think you will find this in most hotels in Spain, it is just the way that they are built. At the end of the day you hardly spend that much time in your room and it is a 3* star hotel and not a 5*
The food is absolutely fantastic!! So much choice both on hot food and also the salad bar!! My wife is a very fussy eater and she loved the food. Cannot fault that at all.
The entertainment was organised by the Thomas Cook reps who work their socks off to ensure everyone has a great time!! Also the outside acts that come in to the hotel of an evening are excellent!!
We got this holiday for a fantastic price!! Would i go back? Yes Definitely!!

I have just returned 3 days ago from the mimosa park hotel, palma nova, majorca. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. In our party was myself, my husband, my 6 year old son and my 1 year old son. We all shared a room. Also my parents were in a studio and my brother and his girlfriend in another studio. Our room, had 2 single beds and a pull out bed for my son and we also had a cot for the baby. Rooms were clean and comfortable, they were cleaned everyday and towels changed everyday. We had no problems with our room, we were on the main road side but traffic noise didn't bother us. As for the thin walls, that others have mentioend, we didn't experience any problems with this either. We had a taxi transfer from the airport, so we checked in by oursleves, which took about 15 mins for the 8 of us. They are 3 lifts, but one is around the corner from the other 2 and therefore gets overlooked. They are very slow.
Staff were very friendly and always made time to smile and ruffle my youngest son's hair. I am a very fussy eater, however I found the food fine. Not much for vegetarians. There are snacks in between meal times in the resturant. After a walk around the town at night, we would come back to the hotel and sit on the comfy sofa's in reception. We would have a drink from the bar, and 2 of us would go down to the resturant and make ourselves a couple of cheese cobs and bring these back up to eat with our beer. The bar staff used to fill my sons bottle up of milk and there is a microwave in the resturant to warm it up.
All our group have gained weight, mainly due the puddings. My 6 year old son loved the way he could go and get his own food and then pudding, being all inclusive he hadn't got to handle any money. He used to order his drink of pop in spanish. He loved the independance of this.
It is only a short walk to the town and also to magaluf. We had a day at the western water park, it is brilliant, well worth a visit and great value at 22 euros.
Weather was mostly fine, 1 morning of rain. Pool area was clean and always plenty of beds.
The one downside for me, was I am petrified of birds, and the last but one day, there was a bird flying round the resturant and came right by me and also landed on someones table. The rest of my party were fine, but I ran out crying. I didn't go in the resturant again, my husband, bought my food up to the room.
Check out was 12pm, and there is a safe luggage room and also a courtesy room with shower, toilet, sink.
We all had a great time, and it was my parents 3rd visit there. However, the bird would put me off going again.
