How old do you feel...?!
This hotel is really nice, rooms OK, very nice pool and bar. But the food was absolutely awful (how many times can you stomach chewy pork, turkey and hake 'cos it's there every night!) Think we chose a bad week as the place was full of Spanish pensioners so there wasn't the greatest of atmospheres and the entertainment was for their benefit alone! It's a long walk from Palma Nova too, a good 10 mins up hill from the town and beach.
good value for money
i always book my whole holiday on the internet flights, hotel, insurance, everything. i found this hotel on the above web site at a fairly reasonable cost and only booked it the day before travelling. As there were still rooms left i was worried that it may be rubbish. However we have no complaints, the hotel is a pleasant stroll to the main beach/bar ares and everything is quite nearby. we found the rooms basic, clean and reasonably large for dressing and sleeping in. the bathroom was a little small but sufficed. the food was of a reasonable quality and there was a fairly varied choice.Nothing ever ran out and there is a carvery meat cut fresh while you wait, a differnt one each evening.what i liked about this restaraunt was that there was a microwave which you could heat your meal in if you prefered it very hot, like i do.The tea bags are awfull so bring your own and the restaraunt closes bang on time so dont leave it too late to eat. there is a nice pool both inside and another one outside although this one is very very cold when you first get in but if the weather is good, you soon warm up.there was never a problem with sun loungers, there is a good daytime activity programe and everyone is kept well entertained by the team.. we only stayed in for the entertainment one evening. It was a hypnotist and the show was very good.the only bad p[oint is that the bar service is very slow oh and the lifts are really really slow but other wise i thought it was very good value for money
Nice Hotel
Just got back from this hotel, enjoyed my time there, only gripe we had was that you queued for 15 minutes for your drinks, food was good at the begining of the week but i found by the end of the week it had gone down hill. please make sure that you get a saftey box, as lady got all her money and jewelery stolen, she thought it was an inside job. We were on the nineth floor with a sea view which was nice, beware some times lifts get stuck we got stuck twice which can be a bit terrifing . Entertainment was to my liking but everbody else seemed to enjoy it palma nova its self is clean ,walked to porta nous from hotel which is a very nice walk port with lots of big boats for the rich and famous. Enjoyed our stay would i go back again, probably not hotel very tired could do with a referb but for what i paid all inclusive you get what you pay for, but dont let it put you off the weather was good for this time off year
Great place!!!
Well where do I start? We went to the Mimosa Park in August for 2 weeks and it was great! We were very happy, the food was excellent, with a large variety particularly in the evening. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Our room was cleaned everyday and towels were changed daily too. Staff worked very hard and were very pleasent. The air conditioning was fantastic, and you control it in your own room which was great!! The hotel is located uphill, which can be difficult if you have young children, however we went with our 2yr old and managed fine! It kept us fit!!! Palma Nova is lovely but we preferred to go Magaluf every evening and it was only about a 15 min walk there. If you have young children I would reccommend SAMS FAMILY FUN BAR. It is at the start of Magaluf around the corner from Prince William Pub. It is great for young kids as they have a bouncy castle, a clown kiddie rides etc. So it means you can relax for a while. We had a great time and would definately recommend it!!
fantastic!!!
Where can I start? This hotel has everything for everyone, daytime and evening events programmes are fabulous, involving a team of 5 My Travel reps headed by great manager Andy! The shows are much better than standard majorcan spectaculars and attracts an audience of all ages. i'm 23 and went we my sister who's 16. we met a lot of groups of young people, none of whom were rowdy or disruptive. equally the hotel is full of families and has excellent facilities for both! rooms are clean (although towels don't smell too good). views aren't great at hotel is side on to the sea and we were at the back but road outside isnt too busy and hotel is in a nice location near private housing so we didn't mind the view. supermarket is a 30 second walk as are some great bars for lunch like amigos and palm bar (try the garlic mayo in both). beach is a 5 minute walk and for nights out banana joes is on the way to the beach and thoroughly enjoyable (and the pr and dj are good to look at too!) magalluf is cheap in a taxi but check price before you get in as one guy drove us round for 15 minutes and charged us triple and threatened to call police if we didn't pay up!!! so watch out. magalluf is full of 16- 19s and a rough night out so avoid if you want a sophicated hol!! shopping in palma is great but don't go with reps as four times more than the local bus and they only gave me a couple of hours to look around as well so not long enough!!! food is great - really good selection. only down side is the bar staff who are very slow (and often big queues as hotel all inclusive as well as half board) and they lack manners. also sunbathing area is a bit squashed but that much going on like water polo that you don't have time to lie around!! would definately go back!!
my stay in mimosa
We stayed in mimosa 3 weeks ago. Good spot, Staff very pleasant and helpful. Day time entertainment great. the only draw back not enough parasols by the pool. One day to my surprise the bath towels were hung out to dry and not exchanged. Bathrooms tired and used. We were on the 4 floor the carpet on the corridor was very tatty.
Perfect Holiday
Have just arrived back from staying at the Hotel Mimosa and was suprised to read the last two reviews first i would agree about the lifts and the sunbed problems considering there were no Germans staying was shocked to find towels on most sunbeds before breakfast time with very few people on them. That is the negative points but on the positive found the food to be excellent with plenty of choice and always hot. The room we stayed in was spotless with plenty of room, towels were changed daily and the air conditioning was great to come into after a day by the beach or pool. Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone, we had no problems with rowdiness at all.
Hotel Grimosa Park
This hotel has seen better days, it is not exacly shabby but .... . Our room was small, hairdryers had to be hired. Reception charged a whopping 3.5% to change traveller's cheques - it was 2% on the front. The lifts are a nightmare, there are three tiny lifts which are supposed to take 3 people each, double that number had to squash in or no-one would have got anywhere! The pool area was very crowded during our second week with the bodies of those seen lying around asleep in the public areas in the morning miraculously revived enough to 'dive bomb' others in the pool by late morning. There were over 400 guests but less than 20 sunshades. The food was basic and we ate out several times. The staff seemed harrassed and there were no pleasantries. For little more than the cost of a hol at this hotel you can stay somewhere with some class. If you like baked beans, bingo and walking up many flights of stairs, this is the place for you.
Family Hotel??
Just returned from 2 weeks at Mimosa Park Hotel. Having read previous reviews we were hopeful that we had picked a good hotel for our holiday and in the main it was okay but not without it's pitfalls. The rooms are basic and small. 2 small single beds and another which folds out from the wall which restricts space even more. Decor and tiled floor seen better days. Discovered by accident one day that the wet bathroom towels had been put on the balcony to dry rather than changed. Food quality is good but choice of main course limited and very repetitive. By the second week we ate out a few times. Entertainment team work tirelessly and shows ok if not seen before. The main problem we had was noise. As well as families this hotel accomodates young party goers and those on stag/hen nights. All guests are spread throughout the hotel and we found ourselves with very noisy neighbours right along the corridor. The noise continued most nights until 4 and 5 in the morning. Several mornings we came out of our room to find young people lying in the corridor fast asleep. Whilst we are no party poopers it is not amusing in the wee small hours and particulary with a child. Several guests complained but only one security guard to deal with.
Great entertainment and food!
We spent only 3 nights here, but we were all very impressed. Staff were very helpful and polite. Food was excellent with a great variety of choice every day. Entertainment in the bar was excellent and enjoyable. Hotel was clean and great for a family holiday resort. Definitly recommended!
