" worst holiday ever "

Myself, wife and 14 yr old daughter stayed at this hotel 22nd Sept until 3rd Oct 09, it has to rate as our worst holiday ever, standard and choice of food throughout the day was appalling, snacks at night were a couple of sandwiches behind the bar after 9.30pm, lots of guests eat out even though it was all inclusive.
Bar closed at 11.00pm sharp unlike any other hotels we have been to which usually closed at midnight, even the light on the pool table outside the bar turned off at 11.00pm.
Activities were a joke almost non existant 4 activities in a 10 day period for adults and none for kids. Entertainment at night was just as bad.
Room was a mess walls were very dirty and tiles missing, noise throughout the night with people running about the hotel at all hours was horrendous, we were never as glad for our coach picking us up to take us to the airport as were lots of other people.
Final word has to be the Rep :what a waste of space she was:, did not want to know unless she was getting commission for selling tours etc.

I'm an 18 year young girl! And This was my first time abroad as was my friend that I went with, I read the reviews before going (obviously) and admittedly was a bit worried because the people on here were a bit negative! Well when I pulled up in the coach I loved it! The hotel was clean and looked quite posh! We checked in, the safe box is quite expensive but if you split the money its not too bad. We were on the room, fourth floor and the view was beautiful! sea and the pool was so pretty! I loved it and waking up to that every morning was beautiful! The food is ok, but im quite a fussy eater, there is quite a selection though and the hotel is surrounded by places to eat! if your a fan of indian food go to poonam at the top next to poco loco! its gorgeous! the hotel staff are not rude, but then we never gave them a reason to be rude! the hotel could be noisy at times but i didnt always here it, once it got a bit bad but call down to reception and they sort it out :) the hill isn't too bad nor are the steps! most definately are not 200! Although i loved hotel honolulu i wouldnt recommend it if you want a quiet family hoilday, but some families did turn up while i was there and i think they got transfered. recommended to 18-30's nightlife is great and air con worked perfect in our room and the shower was perfect too! i would definately go back! Lots of activities to do during the day, definatley go to western water park and aqualand, hotel organises this, coach there etc :) Do not worry about the miserable moaners on here! It is lovely!
Advice: Gorgeous!
Activities: Poonam indian restauraunt, BCM, Western Park, Aqualand, Lots of bars and clubs along the strip!

Hi,on reading some of the reviews on this hotel,I had to write my own as my wife and I had a great time at the Honolulu hotel,staff were courteous and helpful and smiling.The food was tasteful a good choice and plenty of it,all set out nicely in the restaurant and plenty of time to eat it.The room on the eight floor,had ample space and clean,towels changed on a daily basis,sheets changed once a week, great views on the balcony of Magaluf.The noise was down to a minimum as near the main strip,when double glazed doors closed heard nothing.Nice large swimming pool and area for sunbeds with bar and toilets not far away only complaint here was that some of the sunbeds were broken and had to sort the good beds from the bad however overall great by the pool.Evening entertainment,something different every night,singers, groups, bingo!, good vibes here,or just sit outside on the terrace's with a drink and "warm breeze" and chill out. Mostly groups of young women and men and older couples not many families staying here. The hill and steps are no problem to climb I'm 59!.The Honolulu Hotel was better than my expectation's and was pleasantly surprised,Yours Truly Alan.
Advice: Enjoy the weather and atmosphere and friendly people's from all over the world.
Activities: The activity on the strip and sea views from our balcony.

Have just come back from a girlie holiday from Magaluf and it was wicked. The hotel was ok very basic, food was ok, i was very worried about going to this hotel after reading bad reviews. Yes it was noisey, yes some of the staff were rude but at the end of the day it is bed for the night and the thats it. If the noise goes on and on then call recpetion and they send up the security guard, has to do this a couple of times in the week but everything got sorted quickley.
Went to the western water park which was great altho very expesive, best advise is to take a packed lunch!!
The best bar we found on the beach was Robinson Creso, sold a pint of San Miguel in a frozen mug for 2.50Euro, views across the beach were lovely!! Food in the bar was great altho the portions were massive me and my sister shared a lunch and still came away full up!!
Would advise a trip to the house of katmandu, very weired and wakey with a wicked 4D cinema experience on site!

Upon arriving at our hotel, we were greeted with 200 odd stairs and a road to get to the pool! finally trailing all the way up with the heavy suitcases the receptionist was Very rude and unfriendly demanding money up front for any "Damages" Our 1st night was horrible i was put in a 1 bedroom apartment after drawing the short straw and to my disbelif i was right next to the Cleanin cupboard and to be fair the cleaning cupboard was prob bigger than my room, to fit me and a suitcase in there was a serious squeeze, as Drink related accidents go, 1 off my friends smashed a mirror in the room only for them to be EVICTED!!! they ended up stayin with me, so this dingy cramped room now had 4 bodies and 4 suitcases to add to the fun, Fortunatley we were only there for the week as this was repulsive as the cleaner came 1ce within the 7days and didnt do a great job, on the last night of our stay 2 security guards came to our room, saying that we must pay for the damages or the police will come n "sort us out" Before speaking to one another in spanish, the charge for this mirror was 210 euros!! they claimed that we smashed a bed a mirror and the shower, for the whole 3 hours we were in there this was an impressive feat for anyone!!!!! after much arguments we decided we must pay as spanish Police and Guards seem to be pretty tight and we wudnt get much a say. then they had a good joke saying we cuda just paid the 1st night rather than be crammed in that small room! Hilarious i dont think

I have just returned from a weeks holiday in magaluf at the honolulu and had the best holiday ever. When me and my friend first arrived we were suprised to see the amount of steps leading up to the hotel and down to the pool, however because of being two 17 year old girls this didnt bother us. Unless you are 18 you are unable to purchase alcohol as you will not be given a blue band however the person on reception openly said "find friends and they buy it you", so we did. After the first day of being there we could see that the hotel was full of young people that wanted to be in the centre of magaluf for the night life so there for there were young people in big groups for both hen and stag parties being loud all day and all night so i agree this hotel is not suitable for families with young children. The food isnt up to much good so we found ourself eating little in the hotel and eating out but drinking before going out in the evening to save money! The staff in the restaurant aren't very friendly but for the amount of time you spend in there it didnt bother us to much! If you are on the 8th floor water power is to a minimum but it is usable if you dont mind not having a powerful shower for a week!
Overall i would recommend any young people looking to have a livly holiday to this hotel as it will cater to all your needs & you will be sure to meet lots of other young people!

to say that smoking is allowed in all the bars and clubs, i was surprised that the entertainment lounge was non smoking. its about time the honolulu catered for smokers,as i lot of brits come to mallorca to escape the draconian ban in england. food-not much choice and very bland. every thing else is ok,as long as you come as couples or in a group.not suitable for families with children because of the noise.

Please ignore the negative comments written , we are here now and i was worried before we came . its clean , and the staff are friendly, i´ve seen no shagging in the pool, or naked men running along the corridors unfortuantly !! I have to agree its not for small children its right on the magaluf strip , but ideal for families with teenagers , or singles wanting to party, it is a bit noisy at night but you are in magaluf , if you want a quite holiday this isn´t for you . The food is ok , a bit repeditive but all edible and a good selection. The hill is tiny if you think this is a cardiac arrest hill you definately need to workout as a previous comment said. So don´t be disallusioned if your young and single this is definately the place to go for a fun holiday , if you have small children probably not the place to go .

in all truth all the people moaning why would u take kids that close to one of the top party areas in the world !
hotel was close to everything we needed aswell, staff were a good bunch, even the security guard was alrite!
rooms were a bit of a dump, but then for the £419 i paid, i wasnt really expecting luxury
end of the day, top holiday, top hotel :D

i read the reviews before i left and me and my friends were quite worried about going here. when we arrived we were amazed... the pool was massive! food was great, rooms were big and could keep them at a cool temp.
ok, yeah the food was kinda simple but thts all you wanted after a night out.
also the "steep hill" was nothing it takes like a minute to walk up and keeps you fit so dont moan you chubbers out there!! lol
trust me your in magalluf, if you go there with kids no matter where you stay in magalluf there is going to be younger people out having a laugh and coming in, in the early hours.
the resort is a two minute walk from the strip and a 10 minute walk from BCM.
and if you get lost all you need to do is look for the sling shot you can see it anywhere in magalluf!!
one word AWESOME!! be back next year!!

all the people who say the bad are the people with the families. me n my boyfriend went n we loved expecially the nite life. the hotel was clean the food was nice. loved the drink lol n the staff were friendly so if ur aged 17 above i would defo go to this hotel.
we are planning coming next year and cant wait.
we both loved the bcm clubs they were great for young party animals

after returning from my weeks holiday at honolulu hotel i have to say i was very disapointed.the hotel states on the internet its for familys and couples,im sorry to say it is not ! it might as well have been a hotel for the 18- 30s groups,just full of young drunken men night and day.i have a daughter who is 3 years old she couldnt even go in the pool late afternoon because of gangs lying drinking in pool.night times were a night mare with noise,its no where near palma nova its right by magaluf ! which is not a family holiday.the hotel was clean,staff freindly,hotel needs a decorate very basic.food was ok not much choice.
so hotel honalulu is not a family base at all and i wont return again.

There were about 25 of us that stayed in this hotel, me and a friend booked late and paid £550 for 1 week all inclusive in July.
We got to the hotel about 10.30-11am and the staff on reception were so rude and unhelpful, most of my friends were waiting until about 1pm for their rooms to be cleaned and the hotel staff didn't care.. every time we asked for an update they said 'don't come back before 1' so we had to put everyones suitcases in our rooms until they sorted everyone elses rooms out! The rooms were OK, pretty basic nothing special but the views are nice of the beach. The beds were uncomfortable but we weren't there to sleep, the showers aren't great either not powerful atall. I would definately not reccomend this hotel for families or older people because good for us it was loud and that was good as they were pretty laid back with us being loud all night and morning! So if you have young kids or want a relaxing holiday I would definately say you're not gonna get much sleep! Most people in the hotel were young groups but the atmosphere is friendly. The pool is ok just across a little road, its not that big so you have to try and get there asap to get sunbeds but most people dont come down before 11 cos they're all still sleeping! The hotel was on a hill which wasn't as bad as some people said in other reviews but still a struggle after too many beers!
The worst part of this hotel was the food! It was absolutely disgusting it made a lot of us ill! Not much selection and the same food all the time, I managed to live on chips for lunch then went out for dinner- seriously the food was horrible I had chicken nuggets that I found a bone in... a sausage which was rock hard and I just couldnt eat the food, we ended up going to a bar called eastenders on the hill most of the time for food so that was a waste of money!
The drinks are OK, but ask for no ice because the ice they give you is from their tap water so some people got bad stomachs from this so we asked for no ice even though they didnt like it! The staff are really rude if there's a queue at the bar they shake their tip jar at you to get your attention. I will say aswel that if you're going all inclusive with mates and you're not 18 they wont give you an adult band to get alcohol- we ripped ours off and they gave us adult ones though. The drinks were ok loads of cocktails and local stuff, nothing like WKD, magners etc. was free but you could get drunk on the cocktails.
The location was nice because it's a 2 minute walk to the bottom of the hill to get to the beach which was really nice, and then it's like no more than a 10 minute walk to get to the nightlife which is nice cos you're not right in the middle of all the noise.
Magaluf is a great place to go if you're going for the typical booze filled holiday, I wouldnt reccommend it to families or older people although palma nova is a lot quieter! I had a wicked week minus the hotel, oh and the maids didnt actually change your sheets they just made the beds- and if you want to watch tv then none of the channels in the room work (though that didnt bother us)
So all in all I would reccommend magaluf for people that wanna go out there and party but i'd say go to a different,cheaper hotel like the hotel samos (which was really nice and also cheap- right next to BCM too!) and go self catering or half board so you're not stuck with horrible food you paid for but cant physically stomach!

JUST COME BACK FROM 2 WEEKS STAY AT HOTEL ME, MY PARTNER AND MY 10 YEAR OLD SON. AND AFTER READING REVIEWS BEFORE WE WENT WAS A BIT SCEPTICAL ABOUT GIONG BUT I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS NOTHING LIKE WHAT WE HAD READ BEFOREHAND. HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND STAFF WERE EXCELLENT IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE HOTEL. FOOD WAS OF GOOD STANDARD THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO EAT. DID HAVE VARIED MIX OF PEOPLE RANGING FROM VERY YOUNG TO OLDER COUPLES, LOTS OF FAMILIES, ALL OF WHOM ADDED TO THE LIVELY NATURE OF A LIVELY HOTEL IN A LIVELY RESORT, WHO WERE WILLING TO PARTICIPATE AND SOCALISE WITH EACH OTHER. ANIMACION STAFF WERE EXCELLENT AND I THINK THAT WHAT BROUGHT ALL AGES TOGETHER IN THE VARIES ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDED. THE QUESTION NOW BEING WOULD WE RETURN TO THIS HOTEL? THEN WE DEFINATELY WOULD AS WE HAD BRILLIANT TIME.
