I went with a group of 5, all of us loved every minute. The hotel was cleaned daily, unless you weren't up, in which case they will not come in and disturb you! We tried to make sure we were up but didn't always happen, after all we were all 18 - 21, what'd you expect? It's within walking distant to all the bars and clubs, and also near to Palma Nova beach and Magaluf beach. Magaluf beach is more for the younger generation and Palma Nova is for families. The hotel is situated on top of a hill, (it is quite steep) but not very long... Once you've got a few drinks down you, you don't even notice it!
The food is a bit repetative, but it's all inclusive and 3 star so if your expecting luxury, it's not gonna happen! If you really can't stand the food there are a few restaurants down the road, indian, cafes, mc d's, kfc, burger king and pubs.
The all inclusive drinks are mainly spirits - the usual, and cocktails, sex on the beach is out everyday, along with pina colada, but they also have one that changes daily.
Magaluf is a lively destination and mainly for groups of blokes or girls, there are a few family bars, but if you want a family destination don't go magaluf.
I was very shocked with some of the comments about this hotel, I had a brilliant time, although all the bad reviews are mainly from people with kids, best going somewhere else if you've got young kids.
Now I am 20 and I have booked to go back in September... If you've booked it, judge it for yourself, you may be as surprised as us!

Have just arrived back from holiday after spending one night in the Honolulu Magalluf. When we booked this we were told it was suitable for families....NOT!! I took my 4 year old grandaughter my friend and her two daughters aged 10 and 16 and her eldest daughter's boyfriend also aged 16. The rooms were a riot with squeaky camp beds and a view of a roof with empty beer bottles, condoms, plastic chairs, and towels which had been thrown from the above floors. The pool area was disgusting not to mention the road you have to cross to get to it. My grandaughter was subjected to naked men running along the corridors and gangs of drunken yobs. We complained bitterly and were offered a move to Ponet Playa in Cala D'or at a cost of 250 euros we refused point blank to pay this and eventually thomas cook covered the cost but we did have to pay 150 euros to get from the hell hole we were in to our new hotel which I can only describe as 4 Star. I have travelled from the Carribean to India and to be honest have never come across a hotel like this Please do not take young families to this hotel you will regret it!!

firsts things first.. magaluf is not a family destination, its aimed at young groups. majorca is a big island so if u wanna go there then go to another area where we dont have to listen to you moan about every problem under the sun. but if you are dumb enough to choose magaluf for your family holiday then this hotel is not as bad as some of the people on here make out. yes, there is a bit of noise at night time but its not like its gonna keep u up all night. yes, there are groups of young people but not once did i see any fights or aggro. in fact all the groups seemed to get on well and there was some good crack between the rooms. lots of people have made comments like 'doors hanging of walls' 'asbo towers' 'mr and mrs cockroach' blah blah blah... THIS IS NOT TRUE... the hotel is clean, maids come in everyday (if ur up) and the only thing that may bother people is the fact the none of the toilets in the room have locks on them. the all inclusive is great value if your going in a big group as all local drinks are FREE, bar is open till 12 and there is entertainment inside, but u can skip that and just sit outside and play drinking games!!! ... all meals are included and the food is alright, not great but you can get by for a week. and if u dont really like the food then there is a subway, burger king (best one i've ever had) and a kfc all within 2 mins walk from the hotel. and one last thing, the hotel is on a bit of hill but if you cant manage that then you need to start hitting the gym!

This hotel should be for 18 - 30s behaviour threatening and large gangs mainly lads, not suitable for families, you are only able to sleep between 12 mdnight and 5am then the louts return, hotel plays clubland music each night which incites these louts. Hotel staff and security just look on when fights break out, when contacting reception in the early hours to report screaming and shouting and things being brokem ie glass in fire extinguishers and drinks machines being overturned. 42 steps fom the pool to the hotel entrance not suitable for pushchiars. Families feeling intimidated and unable to spend time within the hotel. Please please change your booking if you are thinking of taking children to this hell hole.

i have just got back from the worst 2 weeks of my life i went to the so called family hotel with my husband and 2 children aged 4 and 18mths. it was like being on an 18-30 holiday it was disgusting naked men at the pool day and night naked men in bar in evenings full of slappers doors getting kicked in parties in rooms all night used condoms everywhere when u complain no one listens groups of men fighting in main bar i had my children i was so scared fire extinguishers set off only go here if u want an 18-30 holiday defo not 4 kids its minging

Hi everyone , its the 1st of July 2008 and its the day ive just returned from my holiday , i went to the hotel with my partner and 2 daughter both under 5 .My first impressions of the hotel was it was clean friendly and seemed welcoming until you see the pool thats full of young groups thats all fine but when it came to taking my children to the swimming pool we wer met by youths that didnt want to let the children swim in the childrens pool beause they were to busy using it to sunbath on the lilos fun fun for them not for the children until everyone in the pool witnessed 2 people having sex in the pool SHOCKED is all i can say , need i say we didnt go there again. I stayed on floor 4 and all night it was one endless party music from 3am until 8am ,smashing fire extiguishers , condoms everywhere , wires pulled out of walls ,doors being kicked.Im only 21 myself and was disusted.The poor hotel staff were to scared to do anything incase the youths turned violent against them .In general the food was great ,staff fab (put up with alot ) i wouldnt recommend the hotel to anyone unless they want a hotel unless they are young and want to sleep with anyone and anything .NOT FOR family or couples .Review is honest and i have put a complaint direct to thomascook and direct holidays xxxx kinda regards

i have just come back from honolulu hotel and i had a fantastic time. the hotel was clean and was cleaned everyday.all the staff where friendly apart from one man on the reception desk.but at the end of the day i wasnt spending my holiday with him.the food in the hotel was basic but you get what you pay for.i think people forget that it is a 3 start not a 5 star.i must admit that the showers did have a mind of there own.but overall it was a great hotel and had a diffrent mix of people.

I just got back from this hellhole yesterday 3/6/08 and we are soo glad to be home (a week earlier than planned.....it was so bad!!!) We paid £300 to come home a week early!
The staff are so rude and very unhelpful, the room was filthy, the food was unedible and constantly recycled, both my 4year old and my other half where sick after eating the food (i only ate the soup...the rest turned my stomach!!) so after day two we ate out all the time, the toilets in the bar constantly had feces all over the walls (after we reported it to the reception one day it took over 2 hours for someone to come and clean it!!!), the snack bar was a fridge behind the bar with a few sandwiches in it (no doubt recycled from lunch!), we saw a few cockroaches lurking about too, all the drinks from the bar were served in plastic disposable cups,we were there a week and the bed sheets were not changed once, 3 nights in a row a group of young lads (15) got into the pool naked, on saturday evening a couple were pratically having sex in the bar while the kids 20 minute disco was on...no staff from the hotel asked them to tone it down a few guests had to and some bloke tried to throw himself off his balonly not something you want your child to see!!
So all in all it was the worst hotel ive ever stayed in and would never stay there again!
This hotel should definitely not be 3 star and if i could have given it 0/10 i would have!!

Well despite the complaints I thought this hotel was good value for money some people expect a 4 star hotel for the price of a 3 star and then winge when things aren't quite up to their standards.
My partner and my step son and I went all inclusive for 1 week and we loved every minute of it. The entertainment team done a fantastic job of keeping the little ones happy and always had plenty of things to do to keep them entertained.
The one thing I would say is there were far too many steps & it was hard with families who had prams & buggies (my partner offered to help a few people up and down the stairs with their prams). I would advise this hotel to provide ramps.
This was the first time we had been all inclusive & found it great money for value. My partner loved it especially all that free boose (heaven!).
Loved the hotel and we are gonna go back next year at about the same time.

I have just got back at the beginning of June and thought the hotel was fine.The food was great salmon fillets, nice salads, steak, whole chicken breasts, burgers hotdogs, paella,stuffed aubergine , pastas, chips, garlic potatoes.A total of 21 including 11 kids went and my only comment on food was no specific kids food area and no pool snack area only drinks bar which would have been nice.Also no ice lollys or ice creams available for kids all incusive. If they wanted an ice cream it would have to be eaten in restaurant which is no good when you are across the car park at the pool.The hotel is getting older now and the bedrooms could do with a bit of updating and I have marked it down accordingly.We were worried after reading other negative reviews but were pleasantly surprised. The staff are very friendly,helpful and polite and rearranged rooms from floor to floor to make sure all our rooms were together as our bookings had been made in 3 seperate blocks.The all inc drinks included cocktails, the irish cream one was one of our favourites.All in all value for money was fine for the 3 star it is.The entertainment could have been better for adults is my final thought on the hotel but the hotels entertainment crew were excellent with the kids. I felt compelled to write this after seeing the 2 out of 10 someone has just given the Honolulu.I would say go with an open mind if you have booked and make your own mind up and you will probably be pleasantly surprised as we were.

We stayed at the honolulu with a group of 14 others and the Hotel and Food was Dispicable!!! Staff were very friendly and Polite unless u came across the Chambermaid on the 3rd floor who was very abrupt at times. The food was very unhealthy and always consisted of Hake in every shape and form imaginable. The food was recycled from each meal and used at the next meal time ie- Tuna was saved from lunch and Made into Pasties for dinner. There was only one vegetarian option and Salad wich was only ever tomatoes, onions, with the occasional lettuce and cucumber. The Pool was disgusting and the childrens end was full of brown mould on the tiles. The pool area itself was Filthy. The Showers in the bedroom had a mind of their own constantly going from hot to cold. One good thing I can say was that the Entertainment of an Evening was Fantastic for the Children and also the Kids Reps were really good with the kids and done daily activities. The Hotel itself though was Laughable..............!! Anyone with a Holiday Booked there Good Luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved staying at this hotel in July 2007, The hotel is great everyone was really friendly and when ever we wanted them to clean our room they did. always had clean towels and everything. Pool was always clean and the bar staff were lovely and had a laugh with you too. Food was orite but its never the same as at home anyway. I had the best time of my life in Magaluf and this is defintly the place to stay free drink all day and night you cant go wrong!!! I will admit if you want a little sleep bring ear plugs as it can be loud and i wouldnt recommend this for familys!!! The only bad parts about the hotel is the sun loungers were usually always taken but i was out in peak season and thats not the hotels fault!!! Oh and if you go out clubbing which u always will i advise a taxi home or remember the way u came as i got lost every morning lmao !! Oh and Mcdonalds is great for a walk home lol!! I'd advise to go to magaluf for two weeks once was just not enough !!! oh and theres a subway down the road from the hotel! xx

It's bad on the hotels part that they stick familys next to young groups
of people on holiday, BUT me, and all my friends had an amazing time at
this resort last year that we are all going back this year!!
I don't know about the person who might be reading this, but I read up on
where I'm going on holiday and no, I would'nt recomment this hotel or this
area of majourca/magaluf for families/couples who want a relaxing holiday..

The hotel Honolulu was sold to us on the basis it was a family hotel - we were travelling in a group of 15 which included children. However, what we found was to be the complete opposite.
The hotel seemed to attract groups of young people that were more interested in throwing the patio furniture into the pool and bottles onto the communal seating area.
The food was nothing special either - for all inclusive there was very little choice in drinks or food throughout the day. Between meal times there was only burger and chips to choose from. A lot of local alcohol was also chargeable.
The entertainment in the hotel was also poor - very outdated and nothing family orientated at all.
The hotel is in a good location. We were literally 5 minutes away from 2 beaches - Magaluf and Palma Nova beach and also from the main streets in both towns.
Overall I would recommend the hotel to young groups as it is perfect for such - but do not visit if you are looking for something a little relaxed!

the staff were rude and would threten us with the police everyday
the sheets on the bed were not cleaned all week
the bedrooms were cramped and dirty
your electric pluges didnt work all week and staff refused to do anything about it
the pool was grubby full of dirt and sand on the bottom
drinks were terrible watered down
this was the worst hotel in magaluf !!!
