Yigitalp Hotel

The hotel is in the old section of the city one block from the main street and close to the bazaar. Room was small, but well appointed. We spent 5 nights there in November 2006. Breakfast was included. Hotel is clean and service was above average. The hotel can arrange transportation to and from the airport either free (if room is booked directly with hotel) or for 20 Euros each way regardless of number of people in party. Either way it is a great deal.

The front desk actually attempted to deceive us with the currency exchange (they offered an extremely unfavourable rate because they knew we had no alternative at the time), day trips (they tried to convince us that it would cost more if we went ourselves which was not the case) and they conspired with taxi drivers who tried to take us around the city on various detours. I would seriously warn anyone who would be thinking of staying at this hotel. It is a 1 star budget hotel at best and not worth the frustration.

I stayed in this hotel for a week with my boyfriend. The room was a little bit dissappointing, for more than one reason. It had a terrible view at the back of the hotel, although I believe that the front one isn't anything special either. This is a wonderful small hotel, very convenient for the tourist and very good value for the money! My daughter and I stayed here for twelve nights and found it to be a delightful experience. The hotel staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast is filling and varied. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. Considering I paid E50 per night I think I got my money's worth. The free airport transportation on a 4 night stay is a major plus. The front desk staff tried very hard, the bellstaff did not have enough English to help, but my Turkish is limited to a few words. The dining room was nicely appointed, but both breakfast and the one dinner I had were substandard; the dinner was, in fact, awful, especially at 20 Turkish for the entree. If you are looking for clean, comfortable and friendly, you will be fine with the Yigitalp.l

We have just returned from Istanbul and wanted to write a few words about this hotel. It is situated in a walking distance from the old town and the Grand Bazaar. The tramway station is very near and it is the best way to travel arround Istanbul. I spent 5 nights in January 2006. I made my reservation on the website of the hotel : 50 euros per night with the tranfert from an to the airport, a free half day visit of Istanbul,a basket of fruits and a free cocktail. Everything was correct, clean. This is a great hotel, I found it a little out of the way but convenient to the centre of Istanbul by tram. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel luxury. The restaurant is inexpensive and good food. I will certainly stay here again

I just returned from a one week stay at the Yigitalp and was very pleased with my stay. I had reserved my room several months ago for $29/night. The seventh night was free. My package included free pickup and drop off at the airport.Also, I received a free welcome cocktail,half day city tour,fruit basket, and bottle of wine. Included in the price was a free breakfast. This is the 3rd low price hotel in which I have stayed in Istanbul, and it was certainly the best value. For about £35 a night I was given a fairly large room with a double bed, and being on the large side, this was just what I wanted! The hotel is situated on a busy, trading side-street in a part of Istanbul which is the haunt of Russian ladies buying clothes ro resell back home. But they did not seem to be staying at this hotel!
