AN ITALIAN BUTLINS!!!
We visited Kolymbia last year so we knew exactly what to expect from the resort, but we didn’t know much about the hotel.
I did however know that the hotel has very recently been done up: 4 new accommodation blocks, big new pool and new beach bar. So we were hoping they might put us in a new room as we told them we were on our honeymoon. No such luck. When checking in we were told the new rooms are only for the Italians.
The hotel is large, and we only found 2 other English families while we were there. We were made to feel very unwelcome by both the Italians and the Germans.
The noisy music, loud shouting (all in Italian) on the microphone, and dancing by and in the pool, all day every day became very annoying. We spent every day on the beach. which was good - private, with free umbrellas and loungers.
The food at the hotel was FANTASTIC! couldn’t have asked for any better. Something for everyone. Beautiful seafood, pastas, salads... you name it! And as much as you can eat. Beer was good, bit like British Heineken, and also as much as you can consume!
the all inclusive is limited though, you can drink whenever you want, but they bring pizza snacks out once in the morning and once in the afternoon, and if your not there ready for it, its gone while you blink! Mostly eaten by the Italian Animation team.
The Animation Team, will not under any circumstances include the English, not even the children. They constantly moaned about the English being there... using the table tennis table, even sunbeds! they wont let you use the tennis equipment to play, so if you think you might want to play, bring your own, same goes for the football, volleyball and water polo.
The hotel itself is nice, and the pool and beach are both beautiful, but this definitely isn’t a hotel for Brits. Steer Clear!
oh and don’t use med hotels; our rep (Joe), we didn’t see him once, he didn’t do us a welcome meeting, he didn’t come on any of the days he was supposed to. didn’t check our flights etc. one family managed to get him to the hotel by ringing the emergency contact number, and made an appointment so they could change hotels. He even told them he doesn’t bother coming to this hotel “ as its not worth it, there’s not enough English people”!

This hotel is advertised under false information. The hotel is supposed to be all inclusive, this may be the case if you are Italian but British people are most unwelcome. There is a club Eden on site for the Italian guests (90% of guests), this club has personnel on site to provide entertainment for the exclusive use of the Italian guests, if we tried to join in we were made most unwelcome. To advertise this holiday as all inclusive for all guests when anyone but Italian is unwelcome is most unfair and I would advise any British citizens not to book this hotel especially if they have children as the only entertainment for children is provided only for Italian children. The food is basic Italian with very limited choice unless you like salad three times a day. The beach snacks are only available for the Italian guests at the beach bar even asking for a beer at this bar attracts attention. While we were there 2 British families transferred out of this hotel due to their children and themselves not being welcome. Although British guests were in the minority they are obviously not welcome at this hotel.
