The Holiday Was Amazing! Loved Every Minute Of It! The Hotel Really Made Our Holiday! It Was So Clean, Modern And Quite. The Beach Was Right Outside The Hotel Which Was A Big Bonus. The Only Downside Was That There Wasn't Enough Sun Lounges. If You Were Lucky Enough To Get One Then You Had 2 Get Up Early. There Is 2 Huge Supermarket Just Down The Road Which Was Useful If You Are Self-catering. The Staff Were Very Friendly And Helpful. I Loved The Holiday An Will Be Going Back This Year To The Same Hotel.

Highly recommend. What a hotel - it made our holiday. Never been to anything like it, the design, the decor, the views, the food, the staff and cleanliness all excellent and only 20 mins from the airport - about CYP17 taxi ride.
We took a walk along the beach to next door, the Annabelle one way and Alexander the Great the other, lets just say the Almyra was the rose!
The only down side - the pool side drinks and room service were too expensive and this was the only problem. We didn't have a sea view so if you can afford that extra I'm sure it's well worth it, even without, the rooms are really lovely, there is even BBC and ITV!!
The pool is where you will stay, even though the hotel is beach fronted. The beach needs some work, a little rocky, although we were told more work is being done on the hotel soon, in particular a spa will be built for summer 2008.
The staff are excellent, really helpful and breakfast is well worth getting up for.
The bars in Paphos are far enough away not to hear but close enough to enjoy if you fancy that kind of thing. Loads of great places to eat from all over the world, try Fat Mama's (5 min taxi ride away). Average £30 a couple with with wine.

" Sleek, minimalist and modern - I... "

Sleek, minimalist and modern - I really liked the Almyra. Certainly deserving of its 4 star status. It's in a great location right on the waterfront and just a few minutes walk from the centre of Paphos.
The rooms are well appointed, and vary in price according to whether you want a sea view/terrace, etc, all the usual things. We had a room at the back that looked onto gardens and had a nice little verandah with big comfy chairs, so that you can sit back and enjoy an evening drink. There was satellite TV and a mini bar in the room.
The Almyra has all the usual things. A pool, a poolside bar, beach access.
There are lots of sun beds but still not enough to make up for those annoying people who go out at 7am and 'reserve' beds with their towels, but don't actually show up till 2pm. I'm ashamed to say that I ended up going "well if you can't beat them, join them" and did drop our towels on sun beds on the way to breakfast.
The food in the Almyra was great. Beautiful breakfast spread, fresh fruit, fresh bread, yoghurt, cooked breakfast - there was something for even the fussiest eaters. Lunchtime food was also good by the pool. However, we found the restaurant a little over rated in the evening - they make a bit of a song and dance about how you have to reserve a table because it's so special and their chef is ex-Nobu. However, the food was pretty average, and on that one occasion the service was shambolic.
Other than that the staff in the hotel were great, all really helpful, polite and friendly which always makes for a good stay. The place seemed efficiently run overall and I would class it as good value for money.
I would definitely recommend it, in fact I thought it was the nicest thing about Paphos which doesn't really have an awful lot else going for it.

It is sleek and modern but still maintains a family feel about it - No complaints - staff wanted to help at all times and made us all feel really special . A must for families as very well catered for -A littel pricey but you pay for what you get !!!
They opened the new adult only spa on on departure and it is amazing worth a try I am sure
My children are 8 & 5 and certainly had lots to do througout the holiday
