the apartments were very basic, only had a kettle and a fridge. nothing to cook on! the cleaning left a lot to be desired, toilet wasn,t cleaned at all nor the sink areas. when we had a bad storm one day we got rain coming down the walls and through the ceiling onto the beds. the outside bar closed at 4pm so had to use the pool bar next door. the resort itself was great, especially spikey,s bar. he really made us feel at home and advised us of the best places to eat. will defo go back again but sorry- not to the golden dolphin apts.

Alykes is a village in Zante, which adjoins a larger resort called Alykanas it is about 25 minutes from the airport but a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. A Good selection of tavernas and restaurants, supermarket (with in-store bakery), ATM and the loveliest gently sloping beach into the Ionian Sea. Kefolonia can be seen from the shore and it really is a nice laid back resort. Not for clubbers try Laganas. For a holiday spent on the beach with a nice meal and drink in the evening this is the resort for you.
The Golden Dolphin apartments, are clean and basic but offer a substantial saving to the average holidaymaker in that the air con is free as are the sun beds directly outside the apartments for those in residence. (A party of six of us saved approx £180.00 for a week’s holiday using these free facilities).
A beach bar is located under the apartments, which is not at all intrusive and (at the time of writing is run - by a pair of real characters called Paula & Jon)
Who despite our best intentions MADE us have full English every day and insisted on bringing our drinks down to the beach sunbed!!! Service or what!
Anyway the resort is very nice and there a lots of other places to stay ranging from hotels in Alykanas to beachside and countryside apartments and villas.
The resort also has a good web-site called Alykes.com which might be useful to potential visitors.

I have stayed at Golden Dolphin many time's, have found it to be basic but very clean, with fridge ,two ring cooker and all u need for a self catering holiday, after all i don't go away to cook a full sunday lunch.It could not get any closer to the beach and has free sun bed's ,which save's a fortune.Although it doesn't have its own pool, there is one next door which anyone can use.I would reccomend it ever time.
