Planos Bay Apartments

first time we stayed at the Planos Bay apartments,we found the rooms clean but basic which was all that was needed.The staff and entertainment team all very friendly and helpful.Thompson reps and the kids club reps were exellent.You do have to pay for some of the kids club activities which varied between 4 and 10 euros money well spent as all children enjoyed it. My daughter really enjoyed the shipwreck excursion however, there were a few children sick on the long coach journey to get to the harbour. The evening entertianment was good the first week.The second week was a repeat of the first week.It could do with a bit more variation.Would recomend the Alexander Hotel which over looks the sea as a good place to eat also, the Calipso ,the old village and Dionasis.

it is are third time staying at planos bay.we stayed there for 10 days and weloved it! the kids entertainment was fab and the beach is only 2 minutes away so it wasnt too much of a long walk. the cafe had the best burgers and cheese and ham toasties ever and the restaurants were great but pricy. it is a friendly village and the reps are very kind and great with children. the water park had loads of great slides and a kids area too! it is a shame, as the beds are quite uncomfortable and the rooms are very basic but that didnt matter as we were outside most of the time. the kids club is good as you can have some time on your own whilst the children are being entertained. i would definately go there for a 4th time.

just got back cant fault any of the holiday it was our first time in zante and we want to go back with the grandkids.1 day late getting back due to the turtles but no problem GREAT!!!

Liked Zante, Liked Tsilivi, hated the Planos Bay Apartments. This is a shame because the apartments themselves were adequate, kept very clean and had modern bathrooms which is a first for me in Greece! The reps and staff at the Hotel were also very good. The problem is the behaviour of the other guests and this is the opinion of an ex publican who likes a drink. I would say the main objective of 50% of the people who stayed there was to get as drunk as possible (with or without their kids) and then return anytime between 1.00 and 4.00 in the morning. They then proceeded to shout at each other from balconies and generally talk loudly as though it was mid-afternoon on their "estate" back in the UK. Their kids would be running around the balconies shouting and screaming while this was going on. If you value getting any sleep at all on holiday I would recommend you avoid the Planos bay Hotel.

Just home from my 4th time in Tsilivi and 2nd time at the planos bay.
I really feel like there's nowhere else i want to holiday now, the hotel offers everything and more!!! DJ Luke is genius at his job & wonderful with the kids. Antonis is the best barman ever, and the kids clubs and the kids reps are truly outstanding!!!!! Special mention to Rockin Ryan (Jasmine thrilled he was there again!) and Messy Nessy!!
The kids are in heaven, the parents get plenty peace & quiet, or not if you prefer!! The evening entertainment is brilliant, loved the quiz's, greek night etc, but the best was the reps cabaret!!! Ryan is very talented indeed....Hearing 'carwash' will always make me smile now!!!
The rooms are great, seperate bedroom for the kids, and daily cleaners!
Tsilivi village & planos are full of fantastic restaurants....fave's are Benikos, Stamnas, Kaliva & Georgio's!! Then its back to the hotel for happy hour at the bar & PJ club for the kids!!! Cannot wait for next year!!! xx

just returned from planos bay, well what can i say it is wonderful, went with my in laws and husband and daughter, we had two apartments over looking the pool, the staff are lovely nothing is too much trouble, we had a bottle of wine left in our rooms for our arrival which we thought was a lovely gesture. the rooms are spacious and comfortable too, although we didnt have small children this is a perfect place for them and the water park is free to guests, only a couple of minutes to the beach, only 6 euros for 2 sunbeds a table and a parasol. we had lovely weather too and there are plenty of places to eat with a take away over the road open 24 hrs a day! (local bar) we had taxis into the main centre only 5 euros, it can be walked in about half hour but it was a bit hot.popeyes is fab we got free starters and desserts, dennis treats you like an old friend.
anyway i could go on and on but my advise is try it out for youselves its great.

I have just got back from 2 weeks at the Planos Aparthotel in Tsilivi (Zante).
I went with my partner and my fifteen year old son. We have never been to mainland Greece or any of the islands before so didn't really no what to expect. We booked this holiday at the last minute due to our Turkish holiday being cancelled because of the collapse of Goldtrail.
We arrived at Planos in the evening and was met by Mary the receptionist who couldn't be more helpful. We booked in and she gave us clear and concise directions to out apartment.
We were on the third floor in the corner so only people on one side and double aspect on the balcony. The apartment consisted of a bathroom, kitchenette area and two seperate bedroom areas each with two beds in with hanging space and drawer space for clothes. Also had a TV and hairdryer.
Everything was spotless. We paid for air conditioning as it was really hot which was 60.00 Euro for two weeks a total of £4.29 per day which was well worth it.
The maids come in every day to clean and make the beds and the linen and towels changed every other day.
The whole of the pool area and reception area were kept tidy and clean.
There is a snack bar which is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm with a varied menu from toasties, full english breakfast, salads, burgers, chips etc and full menu of cold drinks including spirits and beer (all reasonably priced).
You can also use the facilities in both the Admiral accross the road and the Planos Bay Hotel. Planos Bay Hotel actually has its own waterpark out the back which you can use 14.00 uruo per person over the age of 12 from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
Well worth doing the round the island cruise to see the dolphins and turtles if your lucky, also the shipwreck.
All restaurants were brilliant, especially, Emem, The Old Greek Village and Nemesis.
Will definitely be looking into going back maybe next year.

We have just returned from our second trip to the planos bay apartments.Before i get down to the many great things about our stay there this year our only negative point was that the evening entertainment could have been a bit better.As we arrived to the planos bay we were greeted by the very friendly rep Sam no problem was too small for her. On arrival to our apartment 310 which is on the 3rd floor we had all the facilities you would expect.The apartments were very clean with the room been cleaned daily.We were also surprised to find we had free entrance to the new water park which was only a 1 minute walk from the hotel which our children used a lot during our 2 week stay.Falcan run kids club with there great team of reps including messy Nessy,rockin' Ryan,sunshine Steph and many more including our other rep Vicky who we went to with our inquiries couldn't have been more helpful.Now to our entertainment team Danny and Liam what more can i say then brilliant and fantastic.
Local restraunts:some of our fav restraunts where . . .
Giorgios (on the main street. . take a right out of the hotel and then a left and follow the road)
zeus (directly accross the road from giorgios)
these where our main restraunts they where fab and the food couldn't have been nicer.
Another restraunt we quite liked was Stamnes which is accross the road and a bit to the left.don't forget to hop on a horse and carriage and take a trip down to the greek restraunt just a bit before fantasy golf on the right where there is greek dancers every Wednesday and Saturday night great free night for the family.There is a great local beach which caters for everyone from sun worshipers to watersport fanatics,if your having your lunch on the beach we reconmend Boomerang restaurant.A must do is to do a trip to see the turtles, if you want to see the full island from boat there is a daily tip on the delfini around the island. we booked this trip with a tour opperater located just up the road from the hotel (just turn right out of the hotel and he is situated on the left handside of the road)this is a great day and you see all of the landmarks around the island. Swimming with the turtles so my husband and my 14 year old son wanted to go see the turtles so they booked a trip with a man called Dimitris who is situated on the right hand side of the main street a bit past two brothers bar they swam with two turtles and got 76 amazing pitures all for free(the pitures that is!) overall we had a great holiday and hope to return again to Sam and the whole crew next year. We stayed at the Planos bay in August 2010 and, for Greece, the hotel is of a good standard. We are a family of 5 with 3 boys aged 7, 5 and 2.
The rooms are reasonably spacious and clean but very very basic - beds pretty uncomfortable, bathroom student-esque but nothing too objectionable for a 2 week stay. Hotel staff are exceptionally good and extremely helpful. Hotel entertainment is a bit amateur but really not bad at all for a family audience.
The major advantages for this hotel are the kid's clubs, which our children loved, and the water park which is free for guests and only 2 minutes walk. The First Choice kid's reps are excellant and the water park is spot on for a family, with a good mix of fun for the little ones and some slides for the older children.
The pool at the hotel, whilst a very good size, can get extremely busy during the day. The water park pool acts as a good alternative to this and because this is new the facilities are very nice.
Local restaurants are all of average quality and reasonably good value. We spent anywhere between €50-80 for our family of 5 at dinner. Kid's meals revolve around the usual fare of chips and sausage, nuggets, burger etc... Adult meals ok but will not win any awards for you foodies! Best choice of restaurants: Med Grill, The Village (next to the hotel), Asian Feast and Kavina (near to the beach with a kids play area).
Plenty of small supermarkets around - we thought food was reasonably expensive and it is worthwhile heading to the larger shops on the main road rather than use the ones near the hotel. Foodies Supermarket does good bread, pastries and cooked chicken. There are various cashpoints around which handle UK cards fine.
On the whole a good family holiday at a ok resort.
