We are a couple well travelled and with experience in the hotel buisness. This hotel sells itself short. It has new owners who could cut out the downmarket single sex three day loss leaders by upgrading the bedrooms with very little effort. The beautiful beach views from... more

I booked a 3 day break with my mum without researching the resort or the hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised; the hotel staff are fantastic; so friendly, helpful and understanding. It was clean, good situation and the room was spacious and comfortable. Mum would... more

Hotel was nice, the reception staff were friendly and helpful, the bar staff were extremely rude and the food was basic with not much choice. The location was ideal but would not stay in this hotel again.

We stayed here for 5 nights and would recommend this hotel only for adults. There is nothing for children here but a freezing pool that is out of the sun most of the day. The food was adequate and the service good. The rooms very lovely and clean and the sea view was great.... more

My husband and I have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Comodoro Playa Hotel in Palma Nova. I have mixed reviews about this hotel, in terms of cleanliness I could not dispute that the hotel was immaculately tidy and clean and the maid service in our room was... more

To put this review into context we are a young couple, mid 20's. We stayed at the Comodoro before, in 2005 and were so impressed we decided to return this year. The hotel itself is impressive when you enter it, in that it is very clean and well decorated, and there is... more

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. We can honestly say that the food was very good, there was lots of choice for every meal and the service was excellent. The rule of thumb for all inclusive - try a little of everything, and try to remember your not in England.... more

I had read reports on another review website and almost changed hotel. It was only after finding this site (and being told it would cost £150 to change hotels) that I decided to grin and bear it, and ask to change if need be. I needn't have worried. I and my husband are... more

My Hen Weekend
Arrived at the hotel at 9.30pm, walked into a really nice foyer and a very helpful receptionist. we were all inclusive, but had missed dinner, and they offered us a cold buffet, but we had eaten on the plane and were more interested in the All Inc. bar.... Unpacked in our rooms, which were typical holiday, tiled floor, ensuite bathroom, with lots of towels, hairdryer etc. very impressed, large bed (well two singles, but it was great), stepped out onto the balcony and it was amazing, the views across the bay are by far one of the best you will experience, especially if you are on a top floor. 2 lifts service the hotel, and beware, they close quicklky and i nearly lost my arm!! Headed to the bar, the barstaff were a little grumpy, but the holiday rep based at the hotel was ace, a gorgeous little (we think from birmingham) babe, she was ace, and i felt for her a little as the hotel didn't have much for entertainment, we played bingo and a quiz and it was a good laugh for everyone there. The food was as you would expect from AI, but it was presented well, and i enjoyed most of it. the pool was small and in the shade most of the morning, getting the sun around 1pm ish. If there is no space at the pool the beach is a 2 minute walk, well, its about 10 seconds, but once you get onto the sand and try find a lounger that takes a bit longer. Overall very impressed with the hotel,. Great location for the Maguluf strip, infact, it was so close we there. Had a great hen weekend, and a great stay in majorca! (we were a group of girls ranging from 21 to 45)
Comodoro Fantastic Hotel
just back from the comodoro hotel staff and the service we received was excellent so much that we intend to go back later this year
what a review
we stayed at the comordoro april 2006.the view when we went on our balcony was to die for.it was the most magnificent view i have ever seen.but that was the only good thing about it.the staff were nice enough.its a four star hotel but in my opinion its only 2 star plus.the all inclusive drinks were the cheapest and nastiness i have ever drank.the food was inedible.there was no entertainment and nothing for children to do.
i loved it!
I was taken to this hotel for my 21st brithday by my parents, an i thought it was great! The staff when we arrived were very friendly an we had to wait no more than an half hour for our room considering that we arrive at 11.30 in the morning and they were fully booked so some guests had not left yet. The room was spacious an the view was amazing, you could see all round the bay. It was mostly older people who stayed there and no one of my own age with exception of the bar men. Both the men an women on reception were very friendly and were willing to help with any problems or queries. The dining room staff were quick to clear away tables and there was a wide variety of food, which was at an exceptional level. While we were there we had a groups of men and women on stag and hen parites, the hotel staff did there best to keep big groups on the same floor and single rooms such as families or older couples on the same floor. The entertainment was limited with Bingo, a Quiz and a spanish singer, but the bar men danny and jonathan more than made up for it. Even thought the bar closed at 11pm most guests werent leaving until 1am, the bar staff stayed and entertained the guests, for example on our last nigth one of the bar men asked quests to volunteer and he tried to teach them fancy tricks with the bottles. The staff are always willing to take part in their own entertainment and stick to their word, such as jumping in the swimming pool. The only problem i had with the hotel was that the pool was freezing as there were no heaters. The outside area was very clean and sweeps were carried out every so often to lift cups and litter. Overall i enjoyed my stay at the hotel, it was clean, had a good variety of food, the staff were willing to help at any time of the day or night, and it was a minutes walk from the beach. The outstanding points for this hotel would have to be the staff and their friendlyness, i didnt see any discrimination between spanish, english, irish and french. And the stay was so good we are going back again next year.
not four star
no way is this a four star hotel, the food was appalling, the room was draughty.the inhouse entertainment consisted of bingo and a quiz.there was no dress code in the dining room my wife and i both in our early sixties had to eat out most of the time, the food was so bad poor service at the bar was anotherfault we spent eight days there in late april but we would not go back even at half the price
I liked it!
We stayed at this hotel over Easter and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were spacious and clean. The balcony was overlooking the sea and the views were wonderful. The food was good and there was plenty of choice. It was nice to sit and eat while watching the sea. The hotel was in a lovely position right by the beach. Our only complaint was the noise at night. We were unlucky and had noisy nieghbours. Once they had disturbed us we noticed all the noise outside. Palma Nova is a lovely resort with plenty going on.
was fine but not 4 star
i stayed at this hotel with my mother and my ten year old son. the food was lovely and very varied and we never struggled for anything to eat although chips at breakfast was a bit much.the entertainment was non existent with bingo or karaoke nearly every night.the hotel was super clean and the staff were very friendly.the all inclusive bar closed promptly at eleven o clock much to the disgust of some other guests although by that time many of them had sampled more than enough of the bars contents. this holiday was just an extra for me and i was glad this wasnt my full summer holiday also the area arround the hotel was very noisy and i was woken at 3.30 most mornings although i was told it was even worse at peak times. if you go to this hotel make sure you dont get a room on the corner because although they are bigger slightly you do not get the corridor shielding you from some of the noise. the pool was quite small and very cold because of the trees and surrounding buildings but it is right on the beach but there were lots of sunbeds although i could imagine that it would be a nightmare trying to get one at peak season. i wouldnt be in a rush to go back to this hotel but neither would i advise anyone not to go.i would not say it justifies its 4 star rating given the opening hours of the bar and the fact that you must go the dining room even if u just want a snack and there is nothing to eat after dinner ends at 9 o clock.
not a 4 star by any means!!
my parents in there 60's, myself and children 12 and 13 visited this hotel mid aug as all inclusive guests. arriving at 3am the only thing you want is your room which was very spacious. bar area poor service as very slow and if you are spanish ayou take preference and get served immedialtely otherwise long wait. bar started closing at 10.55pm and under no circumstances could you get a drink at 1 minute past 11!! tables very left for hours without being cleared or wiped so big built up of glasses and ashtrays which were disgusting. food very selected and repeatative nothing for children or vegetarians and only luke warm again if spanish then nothing too much trouble. pool very cold even in the peak season and very shaded with large trees so looked nothing like the picture we saw in our brochure. sunbed cushions left out all night so either were wet if it had rained in night or had bird droppings on them. brochure also said theat beach sunbeds and parasols included with hotel this was not the case at all you had to pay 2.5 euro's for each. entertainment was a joke as there wasn't any daytime activities and either bingo or karaoke in the evening and there was one live act which again was repeated the following week. location was good as only few feet from the beach and views from rooms were good. no courtesy room available on day of departure and all guests before us and ourselves were told the same, if you want to shower before you travel home then there is a shower outside at the side of the pool!! i kicked up a stink about this and got in touch with the area rep and it was organised for us to have a room to freshen up. this hotel is not for children nothing for them to do at all and obviously not for vegetarians. will not be visitings it again
short trip OK
Just back from a 2 night weekend stay at this hotel in Palma Nova. Although the address is said to be Palma Nova, I think it must be the last hotel before the resort becomes Magaluf. It is on the doorstep of the much noiser resort. The hotel itself was first class. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. Can't fault it ! Food was ample and really nice. The bar was clean and had friendly staff. Rooms were lovely. It is ideally situated right on the beach. Only about 10 steps needed to take you right to the sand! Ideal for the walk back and forth to the free bar all day! Although the hotel is so close to Magaluf, we did not have any young teenagers in our hotel. Most of the guests were well into their 40s and over. This hotel has best of both worlds, VERY near all the nightlife but well kept with high standards throughout. Would recommend this hotel.
Not What We Expected
My family (2 adults and 2 children ages 10 and 12) stayed at the Comodora Playa Hotel For 11 nights in July 2005. We found the hotel to be for more senior people rather than family's and couples. We have been on numerous "All Inclusive" holidays and this one was probably the worst for a number of reasons. The "All Inclusive" was more like half bored (set times) and nothing to eat after dinner (which was not good for the children). No pool bar which meant if the kids wanted ice cream they would have to take their swimming gear off and get dressed to go into the dining room to get it, same for drinks, no eating was allowed out of the dining room at any time not even snacks. The entertainment was non existent within this hotel and absolutely nothing for the children to do. The pool area was shaded by large trees and very small, it was extremely noisy due to the location. The hotel is situated on a corner site on a busy road which is accessible for palma nova and magaluf. Magaluf comes alive at night and stays that way till about 6am so it is very noicy when you are trying to sleep and although this hotel is in Palma Nova, it is actually on the edge of both resorts. The food was ok but alot of it was the same each evening, the children struggled to find food they liked because they would have sauces on everything. The hotel itself is super clean and we had a family room which was just brilliant, it was big and it also had a seperate bedroom for the kids so that made our holiday just having that. The views onto the bay from the our room were beautiful but at night it was extremely noisy due to party goers going onto the beach and skinny dipping till 6am. Overall, It was definately not a 4 star hotel and also not for kids. Apparently the bar downstairs was part of the hotel some years ago but has not been bought out seperately so when the bar in the hotel closes at 11.45pm you could go downstairs or outside to other bars but obviously have to pay. We were lucky because we got an extremely good deal on this holiday, we went through Flyglobespam but we heard what other people had paid which was double to us and if that was the case I would have seriously complained. I would got back to Palma Nova but would rather go more into Palma Noval itself and get a better hotel which caters for all ages. Hope this information helps !
