Hotel Comodoro

I have just returned from a week staying at the Comodoro Playa, which was listed as a 4 star hotel by the tour operator and the Spanish tourist board. This hotel may have been a 4 star when built mid 1960's but now would be lucky to just make a 3 star. The Hotel was clean and the food was ok this was not the problem.
I paid for a 4 star where you would expect to be allocated a table in the dining room for the term of your stay or at least be escorted to a table for meals, this was not the case. Each night at dinner, which was buffet style, we had to find our own table sometimes our own cutlery and one evening our own chairs. The dining room was supposed to be air conditioned but it did not feel so.
The entertainment was non existent as the pool area was not particularly large and was not used in the evenings.
The room we had was clean and air conditioned. The on-suite toilet was clean the only down point was the shower curtain collapsed, the problem was the shower curtain rod was broken and jammed against the wall with toilet paper. The view from the balcony was excellent and overlooked the bay.
The poolside was small but there was no problem obtaining a sunbed as most people went to the beach, which was only about 10mtrs away. One side of the pool was shaded for most of the day for people who like the shade.
On summing up this hotel is clean, food is good and would suit people who do not wish a fuss but is nowhere near 4 star standard
