An excellent holiday experience

This was a friendly, welcoming hotel, with the best food we have ever had on any holiday. The staff made the extra effort with presentation and service, which really made the difference. The staff seemed to be happy in their work, which is a sign of a well-run hotel.
Our room was not large, but the beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the facilities were spotless.
We especially liked the free use of bikes for hotel guests, which enabled us to spend hours cycling around the nature reserves and countryside away from the resort. There was also a good choice of English language books to borrow and swap.
The hotel provided a good base for visiting Venice, and for relaxing on the excellent and well kept beach,(The hotel had it's own private beach area which was free of charge to guests) The weather was excellent throughout our stay.

i don't know what hotel Miss B.K. KELSALL stayed at but i would recommend anyone reading these reviews to consider her opinions to be the utter poppycock that they are.
When we arrived we were greeted by a taxi driver from the airport with a full italian style greeting and was made to feel welcome in the country the second we got out of the airport. We were taken on a fantastic journey through the old town and villages for no extra cost.
Upon arriving to the Hotel we were given another warm greeting and as much information as you could need before being given the keys.
The rooms were a textbook example of cleanliness and were spacious enough for what you need it for. You had all the amenities you require and even a television with channels for various countries. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and even the plastic cups are replaced daily.
The restaurant was worth the bill in itself. Both the food and the service was first class. As we first arrived to the restaurant we were greeted with a handshake and a free bottle of wine from the head waiter personally. All the waiters were of a first class professional standard and would bend over backwards to help you. The food was fantastic, with a massive buffet to start you off then a starter, main course and a dessert if needed. The main courses may looked small to some people however those people were not taking into account the buffet and the starter that in most cases was a sufficient main course in itself.
I could not only say this for the restaurant, but for the bar area around the swimming pool on the roof. I chose to eat there for lunch over any restaurant in the end because the food was just as good as the main hotel restaurant. The service there was also fantastic as the people working there were fun to be around and made everyone feel welcome.
if anyone is planning on going to Italy and would like an authentic experience i would advise them to seriously consider this hotel for somewhere to stay.

This was our second holiday at this hotel and if anything this was so much better than the first.
We travelled independantly and the hotel arranged everything apart from the flights. The taxi arrived promptly at the airport and Mario, the driver gave us a real Italian welcome. The Reception staff were really efficient and friendly and spoke excellent english. The standard of rooms, service and food could not be beaten.
The pool area was immaculate, and the pool bar staff were so friendly and welcoming that you wanted to stay there all day.
The restauraunt is run very efficiently by the Maitre D', Paulo and his excellent team. The food provided gave a good choice, mainly focussing on traditional Italian cuisine which would suit anyone.
The management of the hotel have a good working relationship with the staff, and make sure that you have a good holiday and ensured that everything was in top condition at all times.
The best reccomendation of all is that we have already booked our third holiday there for next year.

If you are looking for a quiet holiday resort do not go to Lido di Jesolo in August, but for us, 3 couples all over 50 we had a great time. The Hotel Pricipe Palace was ideal, right in the centre of the resort, great accommodation, lovely food, and wonderful staff.
First the accommodation nice room plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, balcony overlooking the Piazza Mazzini. very clean bathroom but with shower only, room also has fridge and safe for which you pay 20e returnable deposit. The food choice is great nothing seemed to be to much trouble, if you didn't like any of the choices on offer of which there was many they would offer to cook you a steak or omlet. The staff from the front desk, the night manager the waiters and chefs were all great friendly people and couldn't seem to do enough for you. The roof top pool was nice although we was told the water was coldish but the outdoor temperature was about 86d, also a separate childrens pool. My only critisism was people going off and leaving items booking the sunbeds towels, books ect, one day we waited nearly two hours trying to get a bed before people returned seventeen on the very top level of the roof had been left with items holding them. The hotel has it own part of the beach just a few minutes walk away from the hotel, free sunloungers and parasols, the beach is extremly clean with miles of golden sand, and showers to wash before you leave the beach. You are pestered by looke, looke, men or people asking if you want to book a massage. The resort has wonderful shops full of designer wear, shoes and bags but the prices are not cheap.
The bars and cafes have a great choice of food and drink and most tastes. Plenty of childrens amusements along the length of the street, bikes, electric scooters, mini mokes ect available for hire. The resort is full off Italian/other youths never saw any trouble or drunkeness but resort is full of nightclubs and some very noisy bars. When you look out of a morning the many youngsters still wandering about from the night before and the Piazza is covered with flyers for different DJ's and clubs, and but is quickly cleared up by the local road sweepers. We liked and would return to this resort again. Ideal for Familys, Teenagers ect. But not those looking for peace and quiet.

Great Hotel, Arrived mid afternoon...

Great Hotel, Arrived mid afternoon and greeted in perfect english, (cannot understand those who complain about reception not speaking english, maybe they should holiday in Devon!) We were offered a welcome drink on arrival. Our room was very well equipped with air conditioning available all day if you wish so you can return to a cold room. There is a fridge in your room and a free room safe. Food was of a very good standard and the staff were all very helpful. The owners of the hotel "patrol" the building most of the day greeting customers and checking on quality.
The hotel is in a busy square but our room had excellent double glazing so at night you could shut the door and hear nothing. You could sleep in perfect comfort due to the air conditioning. Dont be put off by the couple of strange comments from people on their reviews, if you wish to go to Lido di Jesolo this hotel is excellent, in fact the best service I have seen in any european hotel so far.
If you wish to book direct they will arrange taxi transfers and look after your booking very well, it was the first direct holiday we had booked and it was very easy.

The hotel was clean and welcoming, the staff were friendly and accomodating, however the swimming pool should have been heated, it was a lovely pool and therefore did not get used as much as it could have. The food was good and the waiter service excellent, the resort however was rather expensive for drinks etc, although we had in fact anticipated this, the beach was lovely and well organised etc, with plentyof sunbeds and parasols and it was a nice change that we did not have to pay for these.Overall we had a very nice holiday and would indeed return to this lovely hotel. Many Thanks.

I booked this holiday for my son and...

Jun 2008, Miss B.K. KELSALL

I booked this holiday for my son and I with Thomas Cook. I am disabled and filled in a special needs form, advising them that I could not use steps. When we arrived at the hotel I was offered a room on the third floor with five steps from the lift to the hotel lobby. I complained and was told the hotel was full up, even though people were coming and going constantly they refused to move me and the rep couldn't care less. I was advised to use the staff lift, which and had large metal containers in front of it and mosquitoes around it ! The room we were given had a skyscraper being built for a view and was next to the bins. We could not open our window because of the mosquitoes it attracted and the smell. You will not need an alarm if you stay on this side of the hotel, as the refuse van wakes you up every morning at five o'clock and the bike riders stop a peaceful late afternoon rest ! ( Room 208.) The first mormimg on waking we were greeted with ants crawling up our bags ! You need to take a microscope to find the main meal on your plate, and the guts to ask for your potatoes and other veg to be added to your plate HOT not cold with the salad ! The breakfast consists of strings of half-cooked bacon soaked in fat, fatty sausages, warm tomatoes and either half -cooked scrambled egg or boiled eggs. It also includes the usual yoghurts, fruit, and bread selections. We gave up on the food after a couple of days and ate out. The ice -cream is lovely and the fruit. I and 9 others at the hotel booked a trip with Thomas Cook and the hotel refused to open the breakfast 5 minutes earlier, so we had to have a cake and a tiny cup of coffe or tea. When I asked for a warm cup of coffee the bar woman called me something italian ! On arrival there was an empty coke can and a fag butt on the floor. I told the staff and they said that the cleaner had gone !! It was still there the next morning ! I would not stay here again. The rep did a disappearing act after selling us day trips ! I have been in hospital this week through Thomas Cook. So I won't be going with them again. Don't go here if you are disabled. Venice is a must . It is absolutely stunning and Treviso is a very lovely ancient city, which costs E6.70 on the bus, which travels through pretty villages on it's way.

Hotel Principe Palace quite simply is...
10 / 10
May 2008, Miss M Rollins

Hotel Principe Palace quite simply is marvellous! I stayed there with my mother and sister and if I could go back tonight, I would!
I booked via Direct Holidays, this included all the airport transfer and originally it was my mother and me. Then my sister decides she wants to come, so I emailed the hotel. I was corresponding with someone called Alex whom I presume is the, or one of the managers. I asked if we could change our room and I got a reply immediately. Even after messing him around, as my sister was one minute coming and the next minute not coming, he was great. He sorted everything out and booked a taxi to pick my sister up from the airport.
When we arrived at the airport, my sisters taxi driver was waiting, he was a typical Italian, open arm greeting and a genuine smile!
We arrived at the hotel some time after my sister but when I arrived, I thought, “Wow, I must be in heaven!” The room was spotless and I mean spotless. They cleaned the rooms EVERY day and changed the linen and the towels. The bathroom was remarkably clean.
They have a handbook in the room, which I do advise that you read. They ask that you dress smartly for dinner so I would advise that you pack some nice attire for the evening! You do not have to dress as if you are at the Oscars, but the Hotel is very classy so they want to maintain the correct image.
Breakfast was amazing; it is buffet style with a mountain of choice, hot and cold food. The waiters are A* standard, and the Maitre D, Paolo was very professional and friendly.
The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to beach and on the main resort road, which is packed with gift and clothes shops. Be warned, Italy is not a place for bargains, I saw a sponge for 12.50 Euros! However, Italians are classy people and they dress very well, so don expect cheap tat over there!
I would recommend a wonderful pub called the Black Cat which is about 2-minutes away, if you come out of the hotel and turn right, its on the same side as the hotel.
We stayed on a half-board basis, so lunch was not included, however they provide lunch at the Pool Bar, which I would recommend, they serve pizza, spaghetti, cheese burgers etc and it tastes divine!
Lido Di Jesolo is a great place; it feels surreal when you arrive, as there is a sense of safeness, warmth and great culture. I did not hear of any crime, and I saw one police car!
I would recommend this hotel every time. I want to go back in July, as I love it so much. The staff are great, very good English, the food is wonderful, and the rooms are impeccably clean.
You have to visit Venice, Verona and Lake Garda and do the Treviso and Wine Tasting trip. A word of warning, Treviso has NO public toilets, the only public ones are in the bars, and trust me; they are not like ordinary toilets!
I would, if I could, give the hotel 11 out of 10!

If you want to have a nice holiday,...

If you want to have a nice holiday, this is the place to stay. You can not fault them, food is great, room clean and they want to please. The only problem we had was the staff tried to charge us for a birthday cake we did not have, but I am sure this was a mistake. It was very funny when it rained as the Italians ran for their lives, but coming from Yorkshire this was not a worry. Loads of places to eat on an evening but the hotel food is fantastic.
The hotel have a collection of beach stuff in the room at the back of the hotel which they do not tell you about, so before you go and buy anything check the room where they keep the irons. I am very fussy when it comes to hotels and I like to stay in clean and comfortable rooms, no problem, this is the place to stay.
They do make people wear trousers for dinner, which is nice, as some hotels say you must and then not bother; it was nice to sit and have dinner without having to look at some hairy men’s legs. They have high standards at this hotel.
The resort is very busy and can be very loud on a night, but once the balcony door is closed it is no problem, we heard people complain about the noise on a night but we loved the entaintainment of it. If you have kids the only problem is that they are not allowed to take anything in the pool so they can get a little bored, but the beach is so near the kids can sail away and have fun. It is so shallow they can go out some distance and it is not a worry, but do watch for the jellyfish.
If I wanted to go again I would book an apartment as there are so many places to eat it seemed a waste to stay in a hotel, but this hotel is the best.

This family run hotel is prominently situated in one of the major squares of Lido di Jesolo. It is; however, relatively quiet at night, even though the town is full of people promenading along the pedestrianised road.
The hotel has very good accommodation; it is clean, modern and well presented. The food is plentiful, varied and lovely; with pasta, meat, fish and veggie meals to choose from every day. Breakfast is either cooked “English” or cold meats and cheeses and cakes etc. I could not fault the cuisine at all. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous and as always.....hard working.
The hotel has a nice pool on the roof with a bar/cafe to serve drinks and meals at lunchtimes.
The hotel also has its own private area of the beach which is situated 150metres from the hotel. The beach is extremely clean and the water of the Adriatic very warm during the summer months. There are plenty of sights to see on the beach!!
Around the hotel are situated many lovely shops. If you like jewellery, costume jewellery, clothes, shoes, handbags etc. then there will be a shop for you. If you like ice cream, then you will be in heaven, and it’s cheap and delicious.
You will not be disappointed with this Hotel. It is great and also very reasonable. Try it.

What a fantastic hotel. Rooms air conditioned & cleaned everyday.
Food for meals was just too much (what a great selection each time).
Flew into Venice from Leeds and the taxi was there waiting having been booked through the hotel.
The pool on the roof was great and the staff were so friendly.
Venice 1 hour away by bus/boat and there are lots of restaurants/bars in Jesolo itself
Would return to the hotel tomorrow and recommend it to anybody
