Just came back from hotel holiday 17th june 2011 .hotel excellent, food excellent ,especially if you like fish, you name it they have it , from sword fish , sea bass , octopus prawn , lobster, mussells, so much choice also every joint of meat sliced, steak and if you like veg , brussels, carrots, cauliflower, brocolli, every night you do not know what to choose , excellent pasta choices , i was with 3 of my girl friends and we had said we were going to eat out most nights as normally buffets are boring after a couple of days , we never got bored and decided if we ate out we could never get such good food so spent the whole week eating in the hotel, only downfall is you do have to be out the resturant by 9pm but there are plenty of bars just down the road to go to.the drinks are expensive in restaurant 5 for bottle of large water and cheapest bottle of white wine 15 Euro, and no coffee after dinner .staff are very pleasant and the manager makes sure the restaurant is clean, and plates cleared as soon as finished food , food is very hot .swimming pool you have to pay for sunbeds 3 Euro a day which we paid as we like to lay down and the free chairs on the beach are mainly deckchairs . cannot really complain about hotel, rooms are kept so clean not a spot of dust and clean towels every day ,only thing when we arrived did have to lift cases up the front stairs .most people we met had been back to the hotel several times and had said they had tried different hotels but nowhere had such good service and food , no entertainment except cocktail party on last night where you had free champagne and food before dinner and after dinner continued with singer out around the swimming pool .definite would return again . we went to Venice on the bus for the day so easy to get to and definite worth a visit .

  • Advice: get to resturant at 7.30 when opens as you do have to be out by 9pm

Arrived after a long journey, found the staff helpful and cannot fault anything at this hotel. Food outstanding and the whole hotel was spotless, the staff worked very hard to keep the hotel clean. The location was ideal (23 euros) to get to Venice book at the local tobaconnist no 5 bus then straight onto the ferry there in 1 hour 40 minutes. Don't buy anything on the front paid 8 euros for 1 glass of lager and friends paid 14 euros for an ice cream. Venice is a fab place lots of little side streets and lots of bridges as well. Gondolas were about 100 euros for about 40 minutes, lovely experience. On the whole ant fault this hotel lovely pool, beach great, the only exception were the sellers they were on your back every five minutes.

This was the best hotel I have been to. The hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. Our rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. The rooms were fairly basic and not very big but sufficient for the amount of time you spend in the room. We had a fantastic view from our balcony of the beach. The hotel did not have any entertainment but we knew this and there are lots of other hotels you can use for entertainment. The best bar we found was called Cafe Verde. There was a live band playing every evening which was free and the drinks were very reasonable. Even got a few free cocktails. The bar staff were really friendly too. The food in the hotel was the best I have ever had - amazing food !!! Noone could be disappointed with the choice and quality of the food. The hygiene standard was exceptional. There was loads of seafood - crab, lobster, oysters, shark, mussels, loads of choice of vegetables, potatoes, chips, deep friend vegetables, 3 choices of carvery meat, a chefs special every night and pork/steak cooked to order on a griddle, besides this there was also 3 pasta dishes, risotto and a huge salad bar and lovely puddings, fruit and cheeses. The reviews are correct about being out of the dining room on the dot of 9.00 pm but I do not think the manager Mr Ginetti was rude, it is just that he runs his restaurant and his hotel with great pride and if you take the time to speak to him and say good evening in Italian he does really appreciate it. Lido di Jesolo as a resort is fairly basic but the trip to Venice is well worth a visit and last but not least the beach is fantastic. If the weather had been good which it wasn't this would have been the best holiday ever and I will definitely be going back and will recommend to all my friends.

1. Staff unfriendly at first - they mellow after a few days
2. Dining Room rules & hints:-
a. You only have 90 mins to finish your meal after which you are told to leave.
b. You cannot take wine that you have purchased from the Dining room. The owner of the hotel would not budge on this rule
c. You may pay as many visits to the self service food area but do remember to keep your knife and fork as it is difficult to find replacements
d. Get to the deserts as quiclkly as possible as some items are never replaced eg anything with chocolate.
e. Eat Ice cream as soon as it is available – this is very limited
3. If you are holidaying with Thomsons dont expect to wait in reception for your return coach to the airport– you must wait in the rear bar!
4. Chamber maids show iritation if you dare to be in your room when they want to clean it
5. On two days loud arguements were heard by chamber maid in the corridor
6. On the plus side
a. Food was good –plenty of choice
b. Pleasent dining room with new chairs delivered half way through our stay
c. Good location by sandy beach
d. Free bike hire
7. Thomson rep was ok but did not advise us of the above rules!
8. Good selection of Thompson tours to choose from but do check out the tourist information office for trips and deals eg you can visit Venice for 22 Euros per person to include bus and ferry and any venice public transport route (excluding Gondalas) but dont be put off by the less than friendly tourist information office official.
9. If you hire a 4 seated bike from the many commercial outlets be prepared that they are hard work – or was just my crew!

I found the hotel quaintly retro. The food was wonderful. Staff mostly polite & friendly one or two exceptions. No entertainment at hotel so not for younger clients. Position of hotel excellent but not suitible for families. Venice is only 1hr away by good public transport. If going to Venice leave Lido early dont bother going to bus station local stop near by. Leave venice early to avoid crowds but plent of buses available

We were very dissapointed with the...

Jun 2008, Mrs L.R Hampton

We were very dissapointed with the hotel in general, although Lido di Jesolo itself was fantastic. It was very dated and although the foyer and rooms were acceptably clean, the corridors were in need of attention. The reception staff were rude and very unhelpful, always saying that we had to talk to the manager when we wanted something - but she was hardly ever there! For example, we asked for the shutter in our room to be fixed as this caused the air conditioning to stop but it took 5 days! Whenever we enquired we were told we had to speak to the manager who was always nowhere to be seen! They would not allow us to exchange our travelers cheques without the manager - same problem! We wanted to complain about he restaurant - same response again! And when we asked for a comp room to shower before our evening flight, yet again, not without speaking to the mananger and.... you guessed it!!
The restaurant was not great, the food was tasteless so we ate out every night after that which was absolutely superb. Also they cleared away the food at 8pm even though it stated that dinner was until 8.30pm, the waiters didn't want to know when we asked why, and the restaurant manager was tucking into the food from the buffet!! The cooked breakfast was vey greasy but there was fruit and a limited choice of cereal.
The hotel locked its doors at 12 midnight (which we were not told about) but after knocking for a good 10 mins we discovered there is a hotel porter who will let you in (eventually!) On nemerous occasions we saw him sleeping on the sofa in the foyer! We managed to rouse him so he could open the door, then he finally told us there is a bell (hidden behind a flower pot) which he claimed to be able to hear better - not true! And when we went to complain to reception....guess what!?! Thomson were also crap, hardly saw them and there was always a long que to talk to them when they were there - we will never use them again.
The pool was freezing and we didn't see anyone in there once, but the pool snack bar was good and the staff there were friendly. The beach was nice and it's a lovely walk either way along the promenade. Venice is a must, it's gorgeous and very reasonably priced from any of the tobacconists on the strip.
Jesolo IS a fantastic place, there are plenty of wonderful resaurants and bars and everyone outside of the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming. We are going to drive there this year in July and we are thoroughly looking forward to it. We would recommend the area but certainly not the Monaco Quisissana!!

David and I stayed at the Monaco...

Oct 2007, Mrs IM Whysker

David and I stayed at the Monaco Quisisana in September this year. We arrived late at night and found the receptionist to be very polite. Unfortunately no food was available at this time of night but there was some bottled water in our room so we were able to have a drink.
The room was very nice, well appointed and with enough storage space. It was also spotlessly clean. There was a large balcony with a sea view. We were on the side of the hotel so only had a limited sea view.
The hotel policy of charging people to use the sun beds around the pool (including in the cost the use of a beach towel) meant that people were unable to "hog" the sunbeds by leaving their towels there all day.
Every hotel in Lido Di Jesolo had its own small stretch of beach where the use of deckchairs was free.
We were impressed by the choice of food at both breakfast and dinner. There was also a griddle where bacon and eggs and pancakes were fried whilst you waited which ensured that you were getting freshly cooked food. Fish and steaks were also cooked on the griddle at night time. The food was tasty.
Our only complaint about the meals was that food was being removed from the dining room before the end of the stated meal times. For example, dinner was served from 7.00pm to 8.30 pm (not long enough or late enough for us) and at 8.00 the staff started moving the food from the restaurant so that people arriving at 8.15 for their dinner had very little choice. People would choose their sweets at the same time as their first courses so as to be sure to get a dessert before it was cleared away.
Everyone was allocated their own table for dinner which meant that whatever time you arrived for the meal there was a table ready for you.
The resort of Lido Di Jesolo was very good the only drawback was that there were no secluded beaches as the coast (12 kilos long) was all along one straight line
The resort had plenty of shops and restaurants and prices were reasonable.
Our main reason for visiting this resort was its proximity to Venice. There was an excellent bus and boat service from Lido and the buses and boats tied in together you didn't have a long wait for the boat or bus. It was good service but the buses were very crowded to the point where health and safety didn't seem to matter. We brought ticket for 19 Euros which paid for the return fare by bus and boat to Venice and as many trips as you wanted on the water boats in Venice which was really good value.
The Italians are really nice anywhere but in Venice. The Venetians tend to be rude and abrupt probably because they are so many people visiting Venice that they don’t care whether or not you pay from them as the next person will. Prices are sky high in Venice and we paid 12 Euros for a cup of coffee and a glass of diet coke!
We had two thunderstorms during the week we were there, otherwise the weather was hot and sunny, and we could go out at night without having to wear a coat.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend the hotel and resort and if we returned to this part of Italy again would have no hesitation in staying again at the Monaco Quisisana.

I have this week returned from Jesolo...
3 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr DW M

I have this week returned from Jesolo and had a 'very unhappy' experience at the Monaco Quisasansa in Lido di Jesolo.
I had paid extra for a single room which turned out to be a 'cupboard' on the 3rd Floor and the front of the hotel overlooking the entrance area.
The reception hospitality was dreadful, very rude, unhelpful, who spoke about you in Italian when you were there, as I understand Italian, one receptionist I observed eating a bar of chocolate whilst on duty.
The meal times were VERY regimental, from 7.15pm until 08.30pm and if you were still there at 8.30pm you were encouraged to leave.
On my last day, I was informed that I had the room until 10am, at 08.15am I heard a BANG at my door and at the cleaner let herself in and more of less told me to leave.
My rep from Thomson's was as useless as a 'blind person in a maze', he was rude, had NO customer service skills and didn't seem to care.
So, I would think VERY CAREFULLY if you chose to stay at the Monaco Quisasnsa in Jesolo, Italy.

Apr 2006, Mrs A Davidson

We have stayed at all the Ginneti hotels over the last 10 years overhaul the standard is good.
We found on arrival at the Monaco a very rude receptionist. We had ordered cots for our 12 month old twins confirmed to the UK by fax before we departed, bunk beds in the room we said was not acceptable in any way. She went off duty and left us stood in reception. We found the Thomsons Rep number on notice board and she was very helpful.
By now it is 11pm at night, good start to the holiday. The hotel corridors are not very clean and a spare bed was dumped outside our bedroom and turned into a sofa. When we complained no way is this a 4 star hotel we paid brochure price to make sure everything was in order.
Was disappointed with the hotel food. Same second week to first so boring.

Rooms are very retro but are kept in good condition, the maids are in every day to clean the room. Breakfast and dinner times were excellent, lots of choice and to a good standard.
There was no entertainment as it was end of the season, but there are some good bars on the door step (black cat in particular!)
All the staff are polite and helpful for any information you need to know.
For just 10 euros you can get a bus/boat ride over to Venice, which everyone should do, it is a fantastic place to visit!!!!!
Lido is quite pricey to stay at but a great base to visit other places (7/10).
