" BEST 2 WEEKS OF MY LIFE "
Submitted By: Pesty21was the most amazing time of my life..
we went bed and breakfast but never woke up in time to actually eat it!
Sam the barmann or SEX as he makes you call him, is hilarious but sooo weird.. he makes your holiday moree fun though.! The pool area is really nicee aswell..
we got in trouble with the security guard Stellious a few times! he shouted at us when we got home at early hours in the morning and told us to get to bed and stay there!
he also threaterned to get us thrown of the hotel on a few occasions.. this made our holiday even more funny... we would stagger into the hotel in fits of laughter!
He is really nicee when you get on the right side of him!
the family who own the Frixos are lovely.. Nanny Frixoss is hilarious, she sits in the front of the hotel all day asleep.. shes cute really!
the hotel room was very basic.. as we went bed and breakfast we didnt get a kitchen area, we didnt really mind as we went out to eat everynight, but if you are thinking of cooking yourself when your there make sure you go Self Catering..
the hotel is situated at the top of the strip, but is far enough so you can sleep without all the noice.. it takes about 5 minutes to get to the strip..
Maliaaa is the most amazing place i have ever been and i would reccommened it to everyone, you will have the most amazing time there... i am deffinatly planning on going again and will be staying in the frixos!

" Best Girlie Holiday Ever!! "
Submitted By: bunny4gumboIt was my 1st girlie holiday, and i had the best time.
Hotel Security was wicked lol. Good old Stellios (think thats how u spell it), I always felt very safe coming back to the hotel.
Best Location!! Less than a 5 min walk 2 the strip and 10 mins to the beach. Iwent 2 beach twice, didnt like it though, our pool was too much fun.
Our pool area was really nice, and always lively. People from other pools always came to ours, which was good. Everyone loved our hotel.
Malia is great!! Strip is wicked. I loved Lush Bar so try if you like r'n'b, bashment, funky house!!
Food in Malia is alrite, just yoru basic burgers and chips. Try the red lion near the end of the strip!! good old english food!!
Be carefull hiring a quad, only get it off the strip people.
All clubs and bars r free to get in, unless they have a night on which was usually only on the saturday! So u can av really cheap nights!!
Advice: BEST EVA!!

" Where do i start?
Last year me... "
Last year me and a group of 8 girls went to Ibiza, had an absolutely fantastic time and decided for round 2 in Malia.
Oh what a stupid mistake that was!
First off, Don't choose Malia as your holiday destination full stop. It IS as bad as they have been saying on the news.
Let's start with the hotel, generally the rooms were nice and spacious, and the first couple of days we had new towels and bedsheets each morning. This soon changed, and to our dismay, we had a visitor! A little mouse was living in our room. When we confronted the staff about this, they laughed in our faces and simply sprayed the room with bug spray! It was disgusting the little thing left droplets everywhere and just generally made the place uncleanly.
The pool is really nice, i have nothing bad to say about that because the pool area is lovely, food we bought from the bar is generally good, they had computers etc.
The staff were quite rude, the guy who works behind the bar had a bad attitude problem and would constantly, and quite frankly, purposely short change us.
Frixos is far enough away from the strip so that you can get some sleep which is good, but it also means the only way you can get to the strip is by walking down a long, pitch black, secluded path. DO NOT WALK IT ON YOUR OWN. There were four of our girls walking back and both times there were boys of about 12 or 13 trying to take our things and touch us, shouting things at us and just generally intimidating us. It was quite scary.
Malia as a place is awful, and i won't like it is not due to the locals. We wanted to go and have a nice girly holiday, get some clubbing in and have drinks. All the drinks are cheap and nasty, the reps are very rude and sometimes way too pushy, they'll grab you and pull you into the bars. There are constant quad bikes going up and down the strip you must be careful as they dont stop for anyone, and dont buy them either they are most likely a scam! I would describe the Malia nightlife as chaotic, NASTY atmosphere, unclassy, skanky, dangerous. this is not a relaxing holiday, nor a fun, exciting clubbing week. It is full with rowdy british tourists all trying to get laid,
so generally if you ask my advice, go to ibiza!!!

" Simply put, the single worst holiday... "
Submitted By: Mr A LewisFirst the resort:
Malia is full of samey clubs playing the same music all the time and british bars showing football, football, football. Now some people may like this, but surely the idea of a holiday is to "get away from it all" Anyway, the PRs outside the clubs (especially ZigZag) are pushy and rude beyond compare, always walking right in front of you in your face all the time - one of the guys literally tried pushing us into his club and wouldnt take no for an answer.
Unless you go to the Old Town (i recommend Stablos & Elisabeth) then all of the resteraunts in Malia are overpriced and do really crap food - and dont even get me started on the service - dont go to sirtaki on the strip, customer service is literally non existent.
We arrived in Malia towards the end of the season for 2 weeks so our fellow holiday makers gradually aged as the fortnight drew on, which was good because there were a mix of people to chat with.
Hotal Frixos:
The staff in frixos are on the whole ok - Stellios is a legend, but Sam the infamous distgusting perv of a barman should really be sacked, i know of at least two or three complaints made to the reps just during my stay there, and the reps just laughed it off saying "That's Sam", well a friend of mine couldnt get her change off him unless she agreed to go on a date with him - (this may sound like he was joking, but he was quite forceful and wouldnt actually take no for an answer).
The food at the hotel (like anywhere else in malia) was rubbish and overpriced, with no breakfast options except a full english or a continental breakfast (in this case a hard boiled egg and a peice of toast for about 4 euros).
The music they played round the pool catered for one person and one person alone - Sam himself. He would skip any songs he didnt like and at one time played the same RnB track ("when you're out in the club, dont think im not," etc) literally 8 TIMES IN ONE HOUR!!!! Occasionally he would mix it up by playing Bon Jovi's greatest hits on a loop for what seemed like a further 3 weeks straight.
The reps.... well what can i say, Keenan and Daryl quite frankly are a complete disgrace to First Choice (unless of course they train all their staff in the art of Only-Caring-You're-Attractive) They spent more time chatting up the girls, trying to push the overpriced bar crawls and oogling the topless sunbathers than actually doing their job - Myself and a friend booked the Samaria Gorge Trip which ended up being cancelled. The only reason we know it was cancelled is because we were friendly with one of the other reps who told us, Our reps didnt even attempt to contact us, push a note under the door, leave a message with reception or anything, and when we approached keenan about it he couldnt possibly seem less interested that we wasted a day of our holiday.
The rooms in the hotel were basic beyond belief, however we did have the added bonus of mould and damp in the bathroom that made the entire apartment stink and made us all ill, so its not all bad. The hot water was intermittent at best, and in fact at one point the water was off completely for about half an hour or so.
So to summarise, Malia is a dirty horrible town with no culture or decency whatsoever. We have all actually now intergrated the term "Frixos" into our everday vocabulary to mean "disappointed" or "really crap". thats how bad hotel frixos is. Thats how bad Malia is. DO NOT GO THERE. I SINCERELY ADVISE YOU, SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

" frixos hotel/apartments were great,... "
Submitted By: Miss Evonne Bevanvery close to the main strip - so not far to go to get some food or go out for the nite.
music played daily by the pool - which eventually catered for all tastes.
only downside is - the breakfast was not very good, not alot of choice and was cold the day we made it for breakfast.

" TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!I would not go back... "
Submitted By: Miss LV RodgersThe breakfast consisted of toast, so not even worth getting up for. The barman was sleezy and took pictures of girls in their bikinis without asking and licked my friends finger when she went to collect her change.
Malia as a whole was not bad and the weather was gorgeous. I am 20 and my two friends are 22 and 24, and we were about the oldest people in Malia. The resort seemed to be full of kids just finished school and underage. The average age in Malia was approximately 15!
There is plenty of bars and offers on, but the alcohol is all watered down so no amount of vodka would get you remotely tipsy. The music in all the clubs is exactly the same every single night in all the pubs. So unless you are a Drum and bass or RnB fan this is not for you.
Finally, DO NOT go with the reps. By flying you in over night you have no option to price around for excursions. They will sell it to you by saying it's an all inclusive bar..... but all you get is sex on the beach cocktails (with no alcohol in them) for 1 hour only.
I would not wish this hotel on anyone so save yourself £400 and stay in a hostel is you want somewhere on comparison to the Frixos.

" Omg, Malia is actually amazing
Definately a place to go if you're in the age group of 18-30's
6 of us girlies went and we had 3 rooms with 2 in each
Even though our rooms weren't together it didn't bother us too much
The hotel all in all is quite basic
Rooms are nice, but quite small
Air conditioning comes at an extra price
Think it was like 45 euros for one week
Sooo quite expensive
We didn't get it, we just stuck it out
We went on bed and breakfast basis, which we had on the first morning we got there and it was disgusting
There was toast, cold boiled eggs, cold beans and little mini sausages
So much for a continental breakfast
There was also cereal and drinks
Can easily say that we didnt eat it again when we were there, especially as we saw a rat run into there at one point
The pool bar does some nice food at good prices
The bar guy in the daytime isn't very nice, quite pervy and has a go at you if you take your own bottle of water down with you when you're sunbathing
Georgio, the guy on the bar at night was an absolute legend
Gives you free drinks all the time, mostly shots that tasted just like fruit juice
Theres two old women that always sit in the reception area, either asleep or talking to themselves
Quite sweet actually lol
Stallios the security guard is a softie really
Sat speaking to him for one night for about 2 hours, i was drunk so he probably thought i was just some stupid english bimbo ha
Charged me 15euros to bring a lad back to my hotel room
The location of the hotel is wicked
Literally a one minute walk and you're at the top of the strip
Don't go near the quad sales people on your way to the strip from the hotel as they scam you
If you want a quad get them from somewhere along the strip
All in all an absolutely amazing holiday
Would definately go back

The welcome at Frixos was second to none, great staff, rooms cleaned daily but the decor was a little old fashioned(refresh it and they would charge alot more).
The pool was v nice, breakfast acceptable (cereal, bacon, beans, toast), never loud music v late at night or too early in the morning.
The rooms were not well ventilated(we were on the ground floor) but there was aircon if too uncomfortable.
All in all, a great place to stay, close to the nightlife but far enough for a sound nights sleep and a welcome that 5* hotels could learn from.
PS
In Malia is you do scuba diving, book via an agent as the local dive centre will rip you off going direct.
