Just got back from Lido Di Jesolo after a 2 week holiday with my wife and two kids at Hotel Miami. The staff at this hotel are fantastic; hard working, very warm and very friendly.
The rooms are very small but the cleanliness is amazing. The food isn't brilliant but not that bad either. However if you have young children I would not recommend staying here: the pool is quite small and has no shallow end.
The only 'entertainment' is a table tennis table. The rooms are very small and there is no air conditioning only a ceiling fan. We were here July 27th - August 10th 2007.
The first 2 days the heat was unbearable. After that it rained on the Monday and never really got above 32C for the rest of the time we were there thank goodness! But even so we were bitten to death by mosquitoes; they are a big problem.
Lido Di Jesolo is one long huge strip of restaurants, hotels, and shops. There’s not a lot to do at night except walk up and down the town though there are singers performing in the bars. The beach is a huge disappointment. This is not because it is rocky or filthy; it is sandy and has blue flag status. It is just that it is entirely covered from end to end by deckchairs which belong to the hotels.
Each hotel has its own demarcated area and the deckchairs have the hotel names embossed on them. It’s like sitting in the cinema and if you end up sitting at the back then you won’t end up seeing the sea - no 'spot the brit' playing cricket on the beach with the kids! Not only that there are absolutely millions of illegal immigrants walking up and down the beach all day trying to sell you leather goods and massages - they are a real pain!
The police will fine you if you they see you buy from them but the sellers don’t get punished! Anyway you never see the police on the beach but you will see them at night towing away illegally parked cars.
Two weeks is too long in this resort; I’d say 10 days max is just right. If it rains then you're stuck cos there’s nothing to do except visit the aquarium. It’s a good base for visiting Venice; the Dolomites and Verona and Lake Garda but once you’ve been you probably won’t bother coming back. If you can come in June or early July.
During our two weeks we were told by the rep that there were one and a half million people in the Jesolo area so you can see how busy it gets. There is a fantastic campsite at the far end of Lido Di Jesolo next to the lighthouse and that part of the beach is open with no deckchairs so if you’re still dead keen on having a holiday here I’d definitely look into that rather than staying at the hotels.
The campsites swimming pools were much bigger and there was lots of entertainment going on.

Our one week holiday to this resort was amazing!
It is the perfect mix of having the beach only a 5 minute walk away and having venice within an hours travelling distance.
The beach is really nice - with free deckchairs and the touristy shops are nice to look at in an evening stroll.
Our hotel was great - very nice staff and the food was plentiful and tasty.
We went to Venice 3 times. The 1st time we went with the tour guide to get our bearings and to get a group price on the gondolas which were amazing. The other times we got a bus outside our hotel to the port then the ferry to Venice. It is almost impossible to get lost in Venice as it is so small and people are more than happy to give directions.
Other trips we took included - beautiful lake Garda, Verona and island hopping in the lagoon.

Stayed at Miami Hotel with my husband and 2 Friends. It was a budget holiday so we were pleasently surprised by the standards at the hotel. It was spotlessly clean. The food was lovely, salad bar every evening then a starter which was huge.Main course to follow which was mostly very nice.Sweet course to finish. You had a choice of three different dishes, which you ordered the night before. The waitress was very helpful, taking time to explain anything we didn`t understand, regarding food or anything else. All the staff were very friendly including reception staff. We hired bikes which were free. There are cycle lanes and as the resort is very flat it is very easy to get a about on a Bike. The beach is lovely, not too busy at this time of year. Mosquito`s were a Problem especially in the evening,- take lots of repellent. You can get a bus outside the hotel, then a water bus to Venice.Buy your tickets first from the tobacconist shop nearbye. We also did Verona and lake Garda on an organised trip.would have liked more time in lake Garda.Went to Portogruara market, very nice-but again would have liked more time to explore this beautiful little village. When we arrived home my husband realised he had left he`s wallet in the safe.He emailed Miami, they had already handed it to our rep (Becky} She sent it out to our address and we received it about a week later. All the contents intact. A HUGE "THANKYOU" to Becky, and the Miami hotel for you`re honesty. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.
Mrs Thomasson.
