The hotel is near the top of a very steep hill. My husband called it a ski slope, nest to Magaluf, we thought we were going to Palma Nova. The rooms were very basic and in dire need of revurbishment. Kitchen cupboard doors hanging off, no kettle, had to pay 20 euros to hire a hairdryer despite being told in accomadation advert that there is one in the room(there isnt). the TV didnt work at all-I know we dont go on holiday to watch TV but it rained for 2 days and there isnt even a TV room in the hotel to watch your fave soaps or the news.
The cleaners were lovely and changed the towels every day apart from sun/wed when they are off. The rooms were clean as were the communal areas. We were half board and the food was put out again and again for breakfast evening meal. A bowl of tinned pineapple for breakfast was put out every day. Some of the food was ok but repetitive.
Some of the staff on the reception desk were rude and not helpful. The pool area was nice plenty of sunbeds when we went. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to older people because of the hill and wont be going back.

  • Advice: Palma Nova is lovely, great beaches.

I managed one night of seven in this hellhole. Its strictly for the younger element. Noise and banging, swearing, and general rowdiness ALL night. I had to move out for my sanity. Dont go there for any peace and rest. It WONT happen!!
The rooms are basic beyond belief. Very little equipment in them. 3 stars?? it scarcely rates a 1 in my eyes.

  • Advice: the nightlife is very good. be careful where you stay
  • Activities: the area and beaches are very good. lots of good pubs and eateries

In Depth Review!

Ok, I decided to give an in depth review to the trh palma nova apartments as this is what i would have liked before i went!
I was part of a group of 6 18year old girls in which some like to party but some like some quiet time so it was kind of a mix in what we were looking for which is why we decided to stay in TRH rather than one of the fiestas!
Firstly, this is NOT in palma nova, 100% in magaluf! I wasnt sure about where to expect location wise when i went but my group did not even know where palma nova was until the last day. It is located half way up THE HILL. The hill is not as bad as everyone talks about but its still bad, its not a huge problem though. At the bottom of the hill is the magaluf strip where you have your clubs like bananas, boomarangs, tokio joes etc! From there it is about a 10minute walk to BCM square. If you are going mainly for BCM then this would not be the right place to stay you would be better with the fiesta jungla/tropico but if you arent bothered or want to be closer to the strip this is perfect!
The place is not really like the pictures to be honest but that doesnt mean its bad, the pool is smaller than the pictures i would say and its an awkward shape like its shallow and wide but then goes narrow and deep and shallow and wide again so you couldnt ever play volleyball or anything.
The fact that there was no volleyball aquagym or any activities on was a bit of a let down also, all there is is music playing all the time.
The amount of sunloungers isnt a huge problem like people make out. Yes many a days we had to lie on lilos but thats because we didnt go to the pool until about 2pm!
The problem with the sunloungers is that they are soo uncomfy and do not recline or go up, its the one height they stay at - in some ways ur better on a lilo!
The apartment is pretty basic, the maids came in almost every day and changed our beds and towels a good few times, i couldnt fault them apart from the fact they shout at you in spanish! The beds and coughs are semi comfy especially if you are a young group!
Self catering was a big let down to be honest. You get two rings and a pot, plates and cutlery and thats about it. You have to pay extra for a kettle, toaster etc! The fridge is fine but you have to turn it on urself when you arrive!
The air con was broken when we were there but we spoke to the reps and he sorted us fans from reception which did a very good job!
The idea of safes in reception was very good. The safes seem small but they arent really, we fitted 6purses and passports in one!
The noise is not really a huge problem to complain about. We certainly did not get bothered by it. One night i was in myself as i wasnt well and i did notice its a bit noisy but nothing you couldnt put up with!
One problem is that securitys number is outside ur room which i saw as a bit silly!
I cant really think of much more to tell but if you need to know anything at all i will be happy to answer!
ONE LAST THING
BEWARE!
THERE IS A TERRIBLE COUGH/FLU/FEVER GOING ABOUT MAGALUF JUST NOW, ITS HORRIBLE! NOTHING REALLY YOU CAN DO TO PREVENT IT. I AM JUST WARNING YOU!

this hotel is for the young only 18-30 style i felt sorry for the odd few couples turning up with children, this is a party holiday, music gets played by the pool all day and its loud, the rooms were ok, dont expect to get any sleep before 6 am, the hotels on a hill but wasnt to bad to walk up, the food in near by restaurants was cheap 3 euros for a breakfast, drinks can be expensive so look around and you can get better deals pints of stella 1 euro other places 5 bottles of bud 5 for 5 euro, bcm nightclub is far the best 30 euros in and free bar plus you get free t shirts every night, the foam party was amazing all the girls are really friendly. the staff in our hotel were really helpfull, this is by far the best holiday ive ever been on theres hundreds of bars and its mainly british people on this holiday, i carnt wait to go back next year

Ive Just Got Back From Magaluf And It Was Great, I Went with my friend and her Family and it was great the apartments are ok there one bedroom with two beds, and two sofas which turn into single beds the way people go on about this hotel, they make it seem worst than what it actully is, the bathroom was clean the only problem is that we didnt have a kettle so we could have a cup of tea when we woke up but we just bolied a pan of water which isnt too bad, also the pool area is alot of fun, most people are friendly and just up for a laugh and there music playing all threw the day which make it alot more fun and down to earth, there is mainly young people in this hotel because its really cheap there stags and hens there, so its not really good for people with young children and older people, because you dont get that much sleep and you do get woken up at 6 in the morning from people banging on there doors and screaming but thats not every night, if you get in a six like us then you wont hear anythink, the hotel is really close to the main strip of magaluf where all the bars are, Alex bar is a really good bar which you must go to if your into Rnb and that sort of music, also the bouncers and staff are really friendly, also BCM is a bit of a futher walk but its worth it, its the largest club in magaluff and there are water parties, foam parties, everythink!, i went to a foam party which was so much fun you pay €30 in and drinks are free until they close but you can get a ticket thing which gives you a discount of €5 off , so we eneded up paying €25, BCM is more for wild party animals who love big raves and dont mind gettin wet in the foam and water partys but it is a lot of fun.
At the end of the day people are moanin about TRH Palmanova but for the price you cant moan, younger people are going to find hotels where its really cheap for them to stay, the walls aint that thin either but if your young than this hotel is good for you if your there to have a good time and go clubbing most days then stay here!!
Also the hill isn't that bad me and my friend wore heels and we got up and down that hill perfectly fine, it is quite tiring but after the first day you do tend to get use to it and it just makes up more healthy, also at the bottom of the hill on the same side as the hotel theres a little cafe/resturant and they do really nice breakfasts at only €3, and they are really really nice, and there on all day so you should get your breakfast there if your going self catering

what are people moaning about?

TRH palmanova was fantastic. Last June i went with 2 of my friends and had the most fantastic time. Yeah the hotel wasn't the best but what do you really expect for a hotel which generally caters for 17+ who really don't care about anything except, drinking, partying, sleeping and sunbathing. Me and my mates were 17 and that's what we tended to find people the same age, and older couples or families, do not go there, it's not fair on yourselves, we dont care as we bring it on ourselves. But if your young and heading to magaluf for the time of your life i recommend this hotel (don't even worry about the steep hill when your drunk you wont even notice and otherwise you're getting excercise :)
Have a fantastic time!!

We have just come back from a weeks...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss L H

We have just come back from a weeks stay in the TRH Palma Nova Apartments and what a dive this hotel was. This hotel is a 100m from Magaluf and cetainly not in Palma Nova like described by First Choice. This hotel is NOT for families or couples
The apartments are VERY basic with a kitchen/living area,Bathroom and a seperate bedroom. The kitchen had everything that you needed for a self catering holiday but the cupboard doors were hanging off. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest in the world there were hairs left everywhere when we arrived and were not removed when the maid came into clean. The bedroom was clean with two single beds. 9pm is when the noise starts from the pubs/clubs and lasts until 6am with drunk men and women screaming/shouting, and even fighting inside and outside the apartments. It doesn't stop there after you finally get to sleep and about 6.30am, the locals sweep roads, and start to open the shops/restaurants around the hotel. We would never rate this hotel as a 3 star hotel, its more like 1 star.
Whilst we were there our apartment was broken into and the reception staff were COMPLETELY not helpful in sorting it out but we were moved to a different apartment after waiting 2 hours for the new apartment keys. The next morning we were moved to a different hotel in a different area of Majorca.
We would NEVER NEVER stay in these apartments AGAIN and to say that after everything that happened during our stay in the TRH Palma Nova apartments our holiday was ruined and we couldn't wait to come home.

My wife and I have just spent one of...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr N H

1 reader found this review helpful

My wife and I have just spent one of the most horrific weeks holiday at these apartments. I’m a young 40 (ex-soldier) and my wife early 30’s. When it comes to roughing it and suffering sleep deprivation I’ve had my fair share of things over the years – however a holiday to Majorca wasn’t where I would have expected to find it in such abundance.
Firstly the apartments – like many people have said – is on a hill. It’s a small hill (200 yards) and to be honest unless you are incredibly unfit or morbidly obese, it’s not going to cause you a problem.
The apartments are based in a small section of the southern side of Majorca called Terranova and from what I can gather these apartments are about to change their names (due to acquisition) to the TRH Terra Nova Apartments. Either way, they are 150 yards away from the centre of Magalluf and all of about 600 yards away from BCM (the islands largest Nightclub holding in-excess of 5000 people). If that’s too far...the closest nightclub is only 100 yards away at the bottom of the hill. You know when you’ve got there due to the stench of puke outside it everyday.
The apartments themselves are basic very very very BASIC. The one we had comprised of a bedroom, with a single wardrobe, windows which were useless and had bars over them and exterior walls which were paper thin. The bathroom had everything you would need – bath/shower, wash basin, toilet and a bedit. The living room has two sofa’s (the wooden type which convert into a single bed) a table which had seen better days and the “kitchenette”. If you’re going self-catering then you won’t be cooking anything in the apartment. All you get is a two ring electric burner and the cooking implements are atrocious (we had to use a pan to boil water for coffee as the kettle was totally rusty and beyond use). The rest of the kitchenette was falling apart! The cupboard doors were falling off, the taps dripped constantly and the fridge had a rusty door.
The decor was just white painted walls – which were in desperate need of repainting. The radiators (which we obviously didn’t use) were all rusty and covered in spillages of unknown origin.
The worst issue you will have staying here is the noise. People roll out of the clubs and bars from 10pm through to 6am and as there is an 18-30 hotel to the side and one behind – the hill becomes a meeting place for young people who are too drunk to stand. Constant chanting, swearing, fighting and screaming happens every night of the week at the top of the hill right outside the Palma Nova Apartments......then when they have finished on the hill.......it transfers into the apartments. The apartments all have door bells and as people retire to their own place they think it’s OK to walk past and ring on everyone’s door. Even more stupidly they have telephones in the rooms so you’re quite likely to get a call in the middle of the night from someone who you don’t know at the other end of the phone just shouting [--].
On the second to last night my wife and I observed 7 lads from London and 2 girls (who we assume they had met whilst out there) having a party in their apartment across the other side of the pool. They had left their patio doors open (onto the balcony) and were happily snorting what looked to be Cocaine on the balcony and hammering shots like they had gone out of fashion.........if we could see this.......then so could the other residents – which included a couple of families with children.
The pool area is like concrete jungle, hasn’t enough sunbeds and is supplied with a constant head shattering music which is as laud as they can physically get it. On top of that the pool-side cafe churns out crap beer and something they refer to as “food”..........inedible and nauseous.
Oh and nearly forgot....the dog. There’s a villa behind the apartments which has a St Bernard living there......it barks and barks and barks all through the day, then when you think it’s gone to sleep it starts again. On top of that they also own a cockerel which calls its dawn chorus – usually beginning at around 6:30am then at 7:00am the locals begin cleaning the streets with petrol motored leaf blowers and road sweepers. That lasts till around 8:30am at which time the hotel staff begin cleaning the pool and throwing the pool furniture round for about an hour or so........then the awful music (which they play round the pool) gets turned on FULL BLAST again.
These apartments are a 1 star at best and it must have been David Blunket who gave them their 3 star status.
The resort itself is like a crude Blackpool in the sun with fast food places, chips with everything, and bars with names like, “The Lady Di Bar”, “Tony’s Pub”, “The Price William”, “Bobs Bar”, “Garys” etc etc. Oh and they ALL either have sky sports or big brother playing CONSTANTLY.
Palma Nova and Magalluf are designed to appeal to two sets of people.......Dobbers and Chavs. However if you are in to blatant drug taking, drinking until you lose control of your bladder/bowels (seen both), walking in vomit and fighting.....this is the place for you!!
PS. The rest of Majorca is absolutely beautiful so go somewhere else and give this place a side step.

Aug 2008, Miss J Burke

hey, im just back from a week in magalluf, mallorca... went with my boyfriend and we had a fantastic time... we stayed in the TRH Palma Nova aparthotel (by the name ud think we were in palma nova, but it was magalluf, palma nova is approx 900m away).. the trip from the airport took only 20 minutes which was great and the flight was just over 2 hours.... The apartment was very clean and had air conditioning that u could leave on all day if u wanted.. apartments were cleaned every day, and towels were changed every second day... we had a double room, bathroom with bath and power shower, kitchen/sitting room (even had a microwave).. satellite tv but only in spanish, balcony which was a very good size.. the pool was big and there was 2 kidies pools, aswell as pool side bar, which served lovely food. there was about 30 -40 sun loungers which were usually gone before 10am, so u would have to be up early to hold one with your towel... lots of tables and chairs available though.... the staff were lovely and very polite, had good english... the apartments were located half way up a slight hill, which honest to god was not that bad... there was a spar shop underneath apts, which had everything... Magalluf Beach is located across the road from the apartments, there are about 100 steps down, which made me a lot fitter ha ha ...
The food was fantastic and very cheap, i would recommend Godfathers Steak House, the food was very fresh and staff were friendly.. We went to a show called "pirates" which was fantastic, lasts just over and hour, but i wud recommend getting there about 45-60 mins before hand as the queues were quite long.. also they tell u that drink is free, but sangria, wine and minerals are all that are free.. u have to pay fo everything else... i would also strongly recommend the western park water park.. its 21 euro per person and well worth it, lots of slides for adults and children as well as shows, swimming pools, and restaurants... u could spend all day there..
The night life has something for everyone. there is the BCM night club for the young and lively, and many clubs, pubs, and disco bars... drink is very cheap , 2 for 1 offers on lots of drink... And before i forget u can get the most fantastic roast dinner in a restaurant called Sams, u get all the trimmings and bisto gravy for 7 euro absolutely gorgeous.. i got my hair cut and coloured on my last day for 30 euro, so cheap and she did a great job !!
THere are lots of shops and stalls.. everything is prices, so u cant really haggle.. i would advise u had a look around b4 buying anything because there can be a bid difference in prices from one shop to the next!!
I would also advise u to visit the Katmandu which is a reataurant and museum and they do a fantastic 4d virtual tour... the building is built upside down which was very cool...
i will definately go back to magalluf and i cant fault a thing , so i would definatle recommend the Trh palma nova for any one thinking of going.... everything is walking disatnce and so central... and just to say for those with small children the apartments were not at all noisey...

This hotel is definitely not meant for families. There is constant noise throughout the night. Lads and girls screaming and shouting all night long. I don't mind noise, but this just takes the biscuit. The windows could be doing with an upgrade as they are paper thin.
The apartment itself was actually very nice. They were clean and tidy with nice big balcony's. The hotel is very clean and really gives a nice impression when you first see it. The pool is lagoon style and very nice at night. The air conditioning didn't work very well in the room but worked well in the livingroom. The food wasn't too bad either.
My only real complaint about this hotel was the fact that there was a lot of yobs staying at the weekend and they had no respect for anyone including themselves. They were just there to have a good time, so they weren't bothered if they were offending anyone else. The hotel really need to start accepting some of the responsililty. Afterall, the families are paying just as much as these hooligans.

Absolutely loved it! I went with two other girls and it was the best time we've had in our entire 18 years. The hotel is in the best spot, just a two minute walk from the main Magaluf strip with all the pubs, clubs and restaurants. I would definitely recommend to groups of young guys and girls wanting to have a wild week of sex and alcohol. Definitely not for families or elderly people as it is full of drunk youngsters getting naked, shouting and ringing on doorbells in the early hours of the morning. It is set on a very big hill so my leg muscles are SOLID! Overall, a really nice, clean hotel, regular linen and towel changes and full of really nice people. Just make sure you're prepared because you won't be sleeping till 4am at the earliest! Enjoy!
