Club nergis beach hotel in marmaris...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr D Pressland

Club nergis beach hotel in marmaris turkey- what can we say!!! THE WORST HOTEL we have ever stayed in. We arrived at 6am in the morning to find the receptionist asleep, we got the ugliest look for having to wake her up. We requested sea view rooms (2 of them as we were in a party of 6) we was told that we could not have a sea view room as these were reserved for the russians. Our rooms were like something out of the 50's. tables in the rooms were broken, shower broken, rooms were not cleaned from the people that were in there before us. When we got talking to the minority of english people in the hotel they all said they were fed up of complaining and things not being done. The choice of beer was 1 kind, watered down and as a result woke up every morning to the toilet calling!!. If you like rice and chicken for every meal and olives for breakfast then this hotel is for you. WARNING: the hotel is overridden with RUSSIANS they are up at 5 in the morning to put there towels out, so no chance of a sunbed, they dont believe in queing and are the most arrogant people, just dont let them get the better of you tell them what for they dont understand english. If you are on a late flight home then dont expect to keep your room on there is no possibility at all, we were thrown out of our rooms at 12am midday, bearing in mind that we had 2 children aswell even though we did not depart until 4am the following morning. We again talked with reception about this and were thrown the key for the gym to let ourselfs in for a shower, no changing rooms and a communal shower!!!
The actual resort of marmaris far far outshines the hotel, please get out of the hotel and explore otherwise it will drive you up the wall.

Sep 2008, Mrs L.A. Slone

After a disatrous start to the holiday in Turgetreis (Violin Apts) we were moved to Nergis Apt in Bitez. Although the owner spoke little English he was keen to make us all welcome. The rooms were large and airy, and the kitchen was well equipped. the apts were very near the beach and local amenities. We did have to ask for rooms to be cleaned and bins emptied.
The beach was super, the local restaurants provided an excelleent service on the beach during the day.

Aug 2008, Miss R Maudsley

This has been pne of the most fantastic holidays i have ever been on. Yes the food gets repetitive over 2 weeks but there are great restaurants round the corner and the beach is at your doorstep. One of the great things are the 2 entertainers JACOB and TANSU. They really made our holiday. The pools are great because you get an activity pool and a normal pool. Basically this is a must go to resort!!!

before going to marmaris we had found loads of really bad reviews about this hotel and we were understandably worried but it was ok, clean and tidy, staff were friendly, food was ok nothing special but nothing to moan about either. we went very early in the season and the weather wasn't too good but my kids would go back to this hotel,i wouldn't but thats coz i'm an old fogie and don't party till all hours but if you are looking for a lively cheap holiday on the seafront in marmaris then i would recomend it.

Aug 2008, Mr G Thomson

Hi Guys
Just returned from a wonderful week at the Nergis Beach.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, theirs always cleaning it and is spotless. The food is okay, typical all inclusive, not a great choice but always something u can have, wouldn't fancy doing it for 2 weeks having said that. The drinks are great and a really nice lager. The only downside is that the all inclusive service finishes at 23:00 which i think is really early. The hotel is right in the middle of a big strip filled with bars, absolute amazing atmosphere and dead tight security which keep u safe and keep people out the hotel who shouldn't be their. Drinks are expensive in bars so do take extra spending money. If you arrive at night, dont let it put you off. We pulled into reception at 2:00am and were like " oh my god ". very worried. But once you explore it is really really nice. lots of bargains to be picked up aswell. We usually stayed in till 23:00 and then went out after but 2 rounds of drinks are coming in at about 60 LIRA for 4 people which is about £30. Sunbeds are scarce and you will need to get up about half 7, their is a private beach for us but again its up early. However all the bars along the front have a private beach and they provide the beds free, and aslong as you buy atleast 1 round of drinks they usually leave you in peace. If booking excursions we used a guy on the front for a Turkish Bath and it was £8 each, well worth it ! fab experience. The hotel staff are lovely and are a great laugh. A bit flirty with the young girls but dont take it too far!. The rooms are nice but basic but all in all its a great week and would deffinately return to both Marmaris and the Hotel !

Aug 2008, Mr A JONES

Usually you get told dont believe all the comments on these type of sites there not usually as bad as they say, Well guess what they are and worse. Having taken first choices advice re this resort, saying how execellent it was for families great value etc, Yeah if you speak good Russian dont mind getting up at five am to get a sunbed for the kids to go round the pool, drink cocktails made from the tap water round the pool, having severe stomach craps through food poisoning, with food been carried 300 mtrs in 50deg heat round the pool area in front of you.All inclusive drinks yeah if you can get to the bar past teh ignorant and arrogant Russians, people complained constantly to no avail,The rooms are cleaned and towels and bedding changed everyday at least thats one positive, only to passed over by the double sofa bed that leaves you with severe backache and the air condition which is not controlable and leaves everyone feeling ill, i could write a book about this dump, its not for families its not english friendly and no i would never go back or recommend it to my worse enemy.

Excellent location. The food is fine although like most places you tend to get sick of it after about 10 days. The drink selection is okay but the Tuborg lager is not the best. It would be better if they could get efes.
My main complaints would be that you could never get a sun bed beside the pool unless you were prepared to queue at 7.00 am in the morning !!!!!!!. The hotel also had a lot of Russian guests. Their manners left a lot to be desired and they are the ones who were up early for the sunbeds.
I would go back again

9 / 10
Jul 2008, Mr D Allison

We arrived at the Club Nergis at about 4 a.m. after a whole day of travelling and after filling in a small arrival form, we were shown to our room. After reading the reviews on here and other review sites we were aware that ‘Block A’ was the best. We weren’t told witch Block we were in, but we’d paid extra for a sea view room when booking the hotel to guarantee the two rooms we had were close to each other. First impressions of the room were great, very spacious and clean, a little bit dated but apart from that it was brilliant. Later in the morning after some much need sleep, further inspection of the room could throw up any faults. The view from the balcony was nice, although we were only on the second floor about 5 meters above the chill Out Zone. The ‘Chill Out Zone’ is a like a terraced area which is above the restaurant and overlooks the main swimming pool. It’s a large area and has loads of giant beanbags spread about. After the 1st couple of days we ended up sun bathing up there during the day as not only did it mean not getting up before 7a.m. to reserve a sun lounger, but it also got the sun all day and was much more comfortable – I would suggest to anybody heading to the Club Nergis to make there was up here during the day!
The food at the Club Nergis was excellent. There wasn’t a massive choice but would always have something to please everyone and the quality was superb. Inside there was a buffet with a selection of foods. The least choice was a breakfast. There were a couple of types of eggs (usually scrambled or boiled), a few cereals, and a large choice of fruit and if you wanted the chefs outside would cook you an omelette or pancakes (which were delicious). For lunch and dinner there would normally be a couple of meat dishes in some kind of source, pasta’s, and other sides. A full salad bar with a huge selection and outside there was a BBQ with a different meat (Chicken, Burgers, Pork, Kebabs etc.), with chips and other sides. And if all that food wasn’t enough through the day there was a snack time between lunch and dinner, where there was often burgers or pizza and chips.
The only downside to the hotel it the bar staff and drinks in general. The first time I was alerted to the attitudes of the bar staff was when I was sitting at the bar with and had just ordered a drink. As it was being poured another man appeared and was clearly waiting at the bar. As my drink was being given to me a lady appeared at the bar. The barman went straight from me to the lady that has just arrived and asked her what she wanted. When politely pointed out that the man at the bar had been waiting longer and he should be served first. The barman then again asked her what she wanted to drink, to which again she replied that the other man had been waiting long. The barman then snapped at the lady saying ‘Look, what do you want to drink?’ in a very aggressive manner. To which the lady eventually ordered her drink. It wasn’t the only time things like this happened. Very often people would walk straight up to the bar and get served instantly even though people had been waiting patiently for a while before. Also the bar men start washing glasses if you approached the bar when it was empty just because they couldn’t be bothered to serve people. The drink sizes are also pathetic. Don’t get me wrong, if you order a spirit with a mixer, the measures are very good. But it’s the size of the cups that they use. If you ordered a soft drink or a spirit/mixer they would put it in a cup the size of one you would find at a water dispenser. Only if you ordered a beer would you get a cup about the size of a ½ pint. We actually tried to make friends with one of the bar men and after a few days he started giving us the bigger cups for all our drinks.
I must recommend the Turkish Bath which is available from the Hotel. We got asked by a rep from our hotel that was going round asking everybody and on the first day 2 of the 4 people in our party went for it. It was 50 Lira (about £20) and lasted an hour and a half. They came back a suggested that me and my other friend do it. So on the second day we did. I can honestly say that it was one of the best parts of the holiday. I would defiantly suggest doing it on the first day though as me and my friend had got slightly sunburnt on the first day and it was slightly more painful than it should be!
If you’re planning on heading outside the hotel in the evenings, take a left out of the hotel at the beach entrance and walking about 100 meters down the sea front. There is a place called Vagabundos which out of all the bars is without a doubt the friendliest and nicest in general. We tried most of the bars along the sea front but ended up here every night!
During our stay we didn’t see much of the other ‘Blocks’ so wouldn’t like to comment on them.
Overall my stay at the Club Nergis was extremely good and I’d definitely go back again!

Jun 2008, Mr M Long

After reading other reviews me and my companions expected the worst, however on arrival we walked into our room and discovered a room more than large enough for us 1 double and 3 single beds between 4 of us. But the room isn't essential due to the minimal time spent there, the food was adequate for what you need with the 2 BBQ's either side of lunch. Also the all inclusive bar was good. The only down side is the rudeness of thre easter European people but when your lying in 40 degree heat you can turn a blind eye to it for the greater good, overall a great holiday in a great location

After reading some of the other...

Jun 2008, KP1

After reading some of the other reviews I was unsure about booking this hotel, but then I realised the bad reviews were about the Club Nergis Beach and we was booking the Nergis Select which is just up the road.
Anyway, this was my 6th visit to Marmaris so I knew what to expect from the resort and obviously I love it to go back so many times! This hotel was great! The location is spot on, we usually stay in the Armutulan area which means taxi's or dolmus' everyday down to the beach but from this hotel it was only a minutes stroll away, and a minutes stagger at the end of the night after going to the beach front bars!
The hotel was really clean, the maid came in everyday, although on 2 occasions when we returned from the beach about 4pm the maid was in our room which we thought was a bit late to be doing the cleaning! The rooms were big enough for 2 of us and the bathroom was of a good standard, the only complaint there is that being tall I had a fornight of ducking under the shower because it was fixed quite low (for me!) onto the wall!
The pool looked nice but we never actually got chance to sit round it, we would have had to put our towels out at 5am when we was returning from a night out to beat the germans! We only ate breakfast in the hotel once, it wasn't bad but there was no meat i.e. bacon, sausages! It was eggs, cheese, bread and more eggs! But breakfast is the cheapest meal anyway to buy out, costing no more than £3.00 for an english breakfast!
The only other complaint would be about the night security guard, he insisted on taking us to reception every night he saw us coming in to prove we stayed there because we didn't have a wristband on! We didn't get one of these in the first place because we was staying bed & breakfast, not half board. On the first and second occasion we thought it was good because it shows good security, but when he still insisted after we had been there for 2 weeks we were getting rather sick of it!
Overall it was a great holiday, great hotel! We have booked to go again at the end of August, although not to this hotel, but that was because we couldn't find it when looking to book through Thomas Cook!
