We stayed at this hotel for a week and had a great time. The all inclusive drinks were great you could help yourself to water, fruit juice and red or white wine. You had to ask for beer, spirits or cola etc. The local spirits were fine I stuck to Gin and it was Schweppes... more

great hotel
Loved our stay at this hotel..location is excellent...rooms are very modern with large bathrooms and good showers..staff cant do enough for you and everyone is very friendly. The pool area and gardens are large with plenty of space for everyone and it has a private beach too.The only minus points are 1 the food which though cooked well and presented nicely doesnt really cater for the english..though that said we could always find something but the range was very limited and " the entertainment which was ok during the day (water polo..table tennis etc) at night was the usual hotel stuff ie mrs marti la perla..guy on organ etc, overall we enjoyed our stay & made many friends (staff) and if your not too fussy an eater and enjoy going out to drink in the evening would definately recommend this hotel.
Best Hotel In The World!
We upgraded to the Marti La Perla following an hour in a '4* hotel' which was dirty and distgusting! When we walked into the Marti La Perla our hopes for a great holiday were restored. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, as is the manager, who walks around the hotel day and night ensuring that the guests are happy with everything. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and immaculate. They may be a tad small, but this is due to the amount of wardrobe and dressing table space for clothing, etc. The cleaners work hard and ensure everything is spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and clean. The food is not english, but I enjoyed trying a different type of food to be honest. It's not fair to expect to go on holiday to a muslim country and have any type of pork served to you. Some restaurants outside do a full english though for £1 if you really want one! It was refreshing to see a hotel which didn't serve chips with every dinner! They have lovely beef and chicken dishes with lovely sauces, and the food isn't swimming in grease. It's so much healthier & tastes better anyway. They have a huge selection of salads and fruits on offer at all mealtimes, which was well presented. There was a snack bar next to the entertainment part, which served burgers, chips, salad and pida (their pizza) during the afternoon, which was nice if you wanted a change. The pool was clean, and the sunbed covers jet-washed every evening. Beds on the beach were free to use, as were the towels, of which there were always plenty of fresh ones ready to swap if yours was covered in sun tan lotion or wet from the pool! The pool area was washed down every evening. The water-slides keep kids occupied all day, and are fun for the adults too! The pool is VERY deep though, so I'd recommend a pair of arm bands or rubber ring for the kids, even if they can swim. The hallway was huge, with lovely comfortable sofas to relax upon. This was best at afternoon-tea time, when various yummy cakes and biscuits were served! The tea and coffee machines were on 24-7, so even if you venture out and fancy a cuppa when you get back you can still have one! Also, the 2 entrances have a security guard posted at all times. They act as a detterent to strangers, and ensure the kids don't wander off. They remember faces well and question people if they don't recognise them. You were not hassled in the hotel or on the premises by people to buy things, which I have found to be a major let down in resorts I have stayed in, such as the Dominican Republic. The staff are always smiling and happy. The children's club is excellent, and they really make an effort with the kids. The entertainers make an effort to speak to everyone and get to know them all. There is not restriction on the amount of drinks you can order in one go, nor is there a huge queue as the all inclusive goes on til 1am. So much better than any other hotels. More relaxed and stress-free! They really know how to look after their guests at the hotel, and the only reason it's not a 5* is because they have no indoor pool! There is a real feel-good factor about the hotel. If you want a nice relaxing holiday with friendly people on hand, clean facilities, and a beautiful location, look no further. The best hotel in the world!
Fabulous Hotel
Having read some negative comments about this hotel I cannot believe they stayed at the same hotel as we did. The place was spotless with friendly helpful staff. The food was superb with a wide variety of tastes catered for. The hotel has both a pool and a private beach and is very cosmopolitan with holiday makers from all over. The entertainment staff do an excellent job of looking after things and we cannot wait to book our trip there again next year.
top quality hotel!!
Hotel was stunning!! Room had great views and was very clean. All the staff were very friendly. Food was great, but if you expect to go to a foreign country and eat traditional English food you will be disappointed. Great choice of Turkish food with something different to try every day. Ideal location, beach, bars and shops on doorstep. In-house hairdresser very cheap and good quality. Altogether a great hotel and a great holiday. Would recommend to anyone.
good holiday
Marti la Perla icmeler Sept 2006 just back from Marti la Perla my husband and myself were there for one week . we arrived 5.00am but still received a nice welcome Our room was just as it looked on website so very clean especially the spacious bathroom maid service everyday Fresh towels are available at the poolside for pool and beach use. All members of staff are very friendly without being intrusive the only thing that lets this lovely hotel down is the food we have been to all inclusive hotels in turkey before and we do not expect fish@chips or bangers@mash or typically British food to be on the menu but there were nights we had to eat out as it was awful. All food seems to suit the Russians, dutch and Germans especially the Russians would have climbed over the top of you to fill their plates they don't believe in waiting their turn. On the odd occasion you got something to suit you it was always cold It is defeating the purpose going all inclusive to then have to eat out most of the time. This was the only negative thing we could say about this hotel Mr@Mrs W Mccolm Ayrshire Scotland
Perfect Holiday!!!
Just come back from a week at this hotel, we had a fantastic week, the hotel is a perfect location to the private beach, although I can imagine in the summer season it will get busy. The centre of the resort is on your doorstep, so if you want lively bars and restuarants then there is plenty to choose from, it's a lovely place, for just taking a walk around. We didn't venture out to drink and eat as we had all we wanted in the hotel, the food is great, with lots of it, plenty of variety and with the local beer efes in plenty supply - it made for a great holiday!! The people who worked at the hotel couldn't do enough, they were so friendly and worked really hard - we couldn't fault them!! All in all a great holiday, we never go back to a place twice, but would definietly return to the resort and to the hotel!!
Marti La Perla - Fantastic
Lovely Hotel! Great Staff! Food is good with LOADS of choice from salads, pasta, fresh fruit, hot/cold dishes and plenty of vegetarian options aswel! Bar choice was not fantastic, only had four local spirits, wine, beer and plenty of soft drinks but the spirit selection was very poor. Bedroom was fantastic, New, Clean and modern with maid service every day! Huge bathroom with all new fixtures and fittings, massive Balcony with a nice table and chairs. Air Conditioning was pretty bad and fridge in the room didn't cool a thing but who cares a fridge is an extra anyway! Pool was very clean and always sun beds available. Slides were great fun and everyone young or old could use them! The only thing was the pool was about 5 foot deep all round so any kind of activity was difficult and tiring! Entertainment was Good, but i'll say one thing to you and when you hear it think of the review! "MINI Disco Time!" Overall Im considering re booking for next year! Great Hotel with all the facilities that you require to make your holiday a great one! Icmeler itself is fantastic! Small canal running down the steets, with lovely shops and lively bars! (Try Dream boys) SUPERB Holiday!
Fantastic
We were really impressed with this hotel. We had a fantastic room overlooking the pool and beach which was of a nice size and suitably furnished. The pool area is huge, it's well maintained and the pool itself is lush - clean and huge with 2 water slides. The food wasn't great, but then what all inclusive food is. The food is more geared at the Russians and Germans, which is a change from the usual British junk you see eveywhere. Nice not to have a choice of chips or chips every night! We rarely ate in the hotel, as there were so many resturants close by that served up the local cuisine - very nice and very cheap, looking at around £20 total for 3 courses and drinks for 2 people. You don't need an awful lot of spending money if you do decide to eat out a lot. If you go to where the main British contingent eat to, then you will encounter very high prices, but if you get talking to locals and other holiday makers, then you will discover some of the more traditional and nicer places. Kerem (just down from Dreamboys) and Waterfalls were the best places we found and highly reccommended by most we spoke to. Location of the hotel is great. On the beach and a 2 minute walk from the bars and resturants. The entertainment is a bit cheesy, as expected really. Security is good on the gates too, the guards ask to see your All Inc cards if they dont recognise you, so not anyone can just walk in. Overall, the hotel's great and I would highly reccommend it!
Not a bad hotel
We ended up at this hotel after paying to be moved from another hotel, so it was a vast improvement on the first. The room and bathroom were lovely, although storage space was at a premium. The room had a fridge and air-conditioning but neither were up to much. The balcony was big and overall, we were delighted with the room. I did however have to complain about the times the maid was appearing - one night it was 5.45pm and we were waiting to get ready for dinner. The food wasn't up to much and they don't exactly cater for the British. Sometimes a perfectly good meal was wasted by the fact that it was cold or lukewarm. There wasn't much variety and one morning, they were even serving cold chips! At dinner, we would look at the choices and if there was nothing we fancied, we would eat out. The poolside lunches were burgers, chips and pizzas every day and inside the restaurant at lunchtime was always a disappointment. The location was great and the hotel has it's own private beach. They also supply pool towels everyday. The internet cafe they boast having is one very slow PC. And if you want ice cream for the kids, you can buy it at the hotel shop - don't bother looking for any at dinner in the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel but don't think that because you are all-inclusive that you won't need much spending money. If you don't like the hotel food, you'll need it to eat out. Don't get me wrong, it's fairly cheap to eat out and the food is brilliant but just don't get caught short. The hotel beer is very drinkable (Efes beer) but the range of spirits is very limited.
Loved Icemelar
Just got back from Marti La Perla Hotel in Icemelar. The hotel is located in a fabulous position, right on the beach front. The hotel is very clean. In my opinion the only thing that lets this hotel down is the food. Everyday the hotel serves up the same food, most of it was cold. After about 5 days I complained to my rep, she asked me to fill in a report, and in fairness the food did appear to be a little better after that. During the first week the chefs were barbecuing chicken breasts at lunchtime, near the poolside bar, however, when I asked for some I was told I could not have the chicken, no explanation was given why. They barbecued chicken breasts once during the following week and I was allowed to have them this time, I can only assume that someone had complained previously. The worst meal in the restaurant was the lunch time meal, most of the time I ate outside near the poolside bar, the food there consisted mostly of pizzas(most of the time they ran out very quickly and you had to wait for the next one to be cooked) chips, burgers and salad. This would be ok for a lot of people, however you tend to get a bit fed up with eating "junk food". The breakfasts consist of the usual meats and cheeses for the europeans, bacon (which was served twice in my 2 weeks stay)the restaurant opens at 7am and they still hadn't started frying the bacon at 8.10am, as you can imagine there didn't appear to be any organisation,on the 2 occasions when there was bacon, you had to queue up for that, then stand in a seperate queue for the eggs (they were cooked in a small frying pan, which held 3 eggs at a time) with everyone queing, this turned out to be a lengthy process, where most of the time your bacon was cold before you got your eggs. The hotel caters mostly for Russians and Eastern Europeans, it needs to cater more for the English in my opinion. Don't be fooled into playing the bingo, as they don't tell you at the time, but all of the games are played for prizes and not for money, the prizes are a bit of a con as they are all for percentages off the shops in the hotel i.e 20% of the hairdresses or 20% off the leather goods shop in the hotel, there is even a prize for 20% off a scuba diving lesson (not very good if you don't scuba dive!!). Putting all of this aside though, I did have a very enjoyable stay at this hotel (and met loads of nice people)I would possibly consider going back in a couple of years time, if only because of the beach front location of the hotel, and because the hotel is reasonable you can always eat out a few times whilst you are there.
