Fantastic holiday, didn’t want to... by CK Holloway
10 / 10

Fantastic holiday, didn’t want to come back home!

The hotel was great, Very clean with a great variety of food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. So many activities to do and I can not emphasise how fantastic the entertainment team are; so energetic and welcoming making you feel like their best friend rather than a tourist.

The show put on in the evening by the entertainment team was great and the location of the hotel was good so that you can take a stroll down to a bar along the beach in the evenings.

The people in turkey are very friendly and I am defiantly missing the great atmosphere.

Would defiantly love to return! ***** 10 / 10

The Marti Hotel Resort is one of the... by B F Smith

The Marti Hotel Resort is one of the nicest places that we have ever stayed.

The rooms are clean, staff very polite and helpful.

We had so much choice of food for breakfast and evening meals that it was difficult to choose. There were many healthy options and it was delicious.

Bar prices were slightly dearer than outside bars but only what you would expect in a hotel.

The only downside was the air conditioning which was not very effective but we did have extreme temperatures. It was also hot in the dining room if you could not get an outside table and lighting was poor once it got dark.

The view from the beach and balcony is absolutely stunning.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly go back again. In fact I can't wait.

Prior to taking this holiday, I had... by K Nightingale
10 / 10

Prior to taking this holiday, I had doubts because of some of the reviews I had read on here. However, I have to say that I think these people must have been to a different place as the holiday was superb.

We paid for a side sea view and ended up in one of the deluxe villas, not what we expected but absolutely brilliant!!

The staff were friendly and helpful; the place was very clean and the food was above average.

For people looking to visit this resort, I can highly recommend the spa. We booked the VIP package, which cost us just over £100. It was worthwhile and made for a very relaxing holiday.

I would definitely holiday at the Marti again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Very nice and attractive hotel for... by TriumphNed

Very nice and attractive hotel for Turkey. Huge grounds, and never a problem getting a sunbed. There is a quiet pool and an activity pool if you felt lively.

Rooms nice enough, but not the best aircon. The mini bar is very expensive, but there is a shop just outside with most things about a quarter of the price.

The food was surprisingly good, with a large choice of food constantly being topped up, or cooked freshly while you waited.

Very good location, with the nightlife of Icmeler on your doorstep, and the dolmus to Marmaris just behind the hotel.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will be returning.

top quality hotel!! by Happyholidays07
10 / 10

Hotel was stunning!! Room had great views and was very clean. All the staff were very friendly. Food was great, but if you expect to go to a foreign country and eat traditional English food you will be disappointed. Great choice of Turkish food with something different to try every day. Ideal location, beach, bars and shops on doorstep. In-house hairdresser very cheap and good quality. Altogether a great hotel and a great holiday. Would recommend to anyone.

Overall are really excellent hotel... by W R Bamber
8 / 10

Overall are really excellent hotel well managed. Very clean and well maintained (a bit baffled by some comments on certain reviews).

The food left a lot to be desired and at the end of the week was becoming monotonous.

Rooms were not cleaned until 4 30 in the afternoon which was a bit inconvenient.

Service staff in general were very friendly and helpful.

Would consider returning in future but not on a half board basis because of the food issue, eating out would be a better option.

Just back from one of the best... by  A Gilmour
10 / 10

Just back from one of the best holidays we have ever been on. The location of the Marti hotel was excellent.

The service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic, nothing was too much of a problem. We were on half board which we were unsure about before we went, but this was dismissed from our thoughts the first night we had dinner, there was a great selection of food and all very well presented.

The complex was clean and well maintained. Our room was on the third floor and had spectacular views of the pool, sea and mountains; we also had the sun on our balcony.

A security guard is positioned on the main beach walk way to ensure that nobody can freely walk into the complex, which we thought was a great idea. However we felt completely safe at all times on our holiday as the Turkish people were so friendly.

The private beach with sun loungers was cleaned every day and waiter service was offered every half hour. The waffles we had on the beach were mouth-watering, which are available from the waffle stall next to the Marti hotel they are a defo to try.

Icmeler centre was only a 5 min walk and had everything you could possibly need.

We will definitely be going back to The Marti Hotel and would recommend it to anybody.

We know Icmeler very well having... by Graham.S
3 / 10

We know Icmeler very well having visited it regularly for 10 years or more. Not having been for a number of years we decided on our return we would stay at the Marti Resort Hotel. What a mistake.

This is without doubt the very worst 4/5 star we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Certainly the public areas, reception, pools, lounges are very nice indeed but this hotel is living on its past.

The accommodation was atrocious. The entrance door frame was falling off, on the balcony wall and floor tiles had fallen on to the floor and all there was to sit on was rusty old painted metal furniture. The room was old and tired but worst of all was the bathroom.

In the bathroom mirrors were threatening to fall off the wall if you touched them, all the silvering on those mirrors was breaking up around the edges, there was black mould around the edge of the bath.

The bath itself had a foot wide ledge on the side over which one had to clamber to use the bath. There were no grab handles. The tap on the basin was so old that amazingly every scrap of the chrome on its surface had worn down to the brass underneath. The walls were a mix of tiles where they had been patched up over the years.

I have never seen anything as bad as this wretched bathroom, it was primitive and dangerous and I would have been disappointed with it in a 2 star.

The Rep muttered something about the rooms were due for refurbishment. In our opinion that should have been done 5 years ago at least and I just bet it has still not been done.

In the restaurant the food and service were truly dreadful. Despite being open down one side the restaurant was usually full of a blue smoke haze from the huge, dirty and unventilated barbecue. For what was supposed to be a high class hotel the food was unbelievably bad.

Thomas Cook? Well they could not care less dismissing all our complaints and maintaining the hotel was performing to standard. You may guess we have not finished with them yet! We have travelled around most of the world and have never before met anything as bad as this place.

A once very nice hotel that has gone completely down the pan. We will happily go back to Icmeler as we have many friends there but never ever again to the truly dreadful Marti Resort Hotel.

We have stayed in Marti Hotel in... by JW White

We have stayed in Marti Hotel in August. It was lovely. Service and staff were perfect.

We bought some textile, leather and lovely jewellery from Marmaris. Vedat, More Jewellery was very funny, he had been living in Florida around 15 years, therefore he speaks fluent English. He was really our guide during our 15 days. Thank you Vedat. See you in May 2007.

Fantastic! Beautiful hotel, lovely... by Drury
10 / 10

Fantastic! Beautiful hotel, lovely room with two balconies, one overlooking the sea and the other to the side overlooking pine clad mountain. Spotlessly clean, both the room and the site. Excellent service from the waiters in the restaurant, nothing was too much for them, and they were very efficient, paying particular attention to my friend's elderly parents who came with us.

Fantastic variety of food at both breakfast and dinner, something for everyone, and we all ate far too much! Beautiful pools, plenty of well spaced out sun beds, also on the private beach. Lovely surprises from the room maids, who arranged our towels in fantastic designs on our beds each day, with blossom petals and leaves scattered over them. Sitting out on the balcony in the evening watching the sunset over the sea and the mountains was lovely.

Thomas Cook were stars - no delays, comfortable transfer and excellent attention.

We had some fantastic evenings in the bars along the canal side in Icmeler, with particular thanks to Fred and the gang at the Venice bar where the attention was wonderful and the shows they put on amazing, , and all the waiters and bar staff at the Bamboo Bar, where the music was lovely, and there was plenty of space to have a dance.

Amazing bargains in the shopping areas of Icmeler, which is huge, but the stalls along the canal side are great for clothes, sliver, pottery, leather goods, etc.

We took a boat ride to Marmaris for a morning, but found it a bit chaotic and rather like Blackpool and were hassled much worse by the stallholders than in Icmeler. On our last day we took a day sail around the bays on a Turkish Gullet, where all food and drinks were included in the price. This was total luxury, lazing around on deck all day in the sunshine, being waited on and seeing the fantastic scenery. We also had fantastic weather all week, very hot, lots of sunshine. Some rain on our last night, but not enough to keep us in. The weather broke the day we left, which is almost the end of the season. We were so lucky.

All in all it was a first class holiday and we had a ball! A thousand thanks to the Marti, to Thomas Cook and to everybody in Icmeler who made this so fantastic for us. We will definitely be returning next year.

My husband and I have just returned... by  C Kirby
5 / 10

My husband and I have just returned from a week in this hotel. Unfortunately we felt rather let down by the standard of this hotel in comparison to other 4*s that we have stayed in the rooms were very basic and not very large though the house keeping staff were very helpful and did a good job.

The food was very questionable as I am sure that the soup was used for sauces and every thing tasted very similar also there were sprouts for breakfast along with the usual sausage scrambled egg and baked beans. The drinks on all inclusive were very limited with a choice of watery vodka something related to Brandy gin and ouzo if you happen to be a whiskey drinker forget it as they only have imports which cost you a fortune the water is in water chillers and you can only have small bottles of water after 5 o’clock.

The bar staff made you feel that a lot of the time you were putting them out and they only wanted to serve the Dutch Germans and Russians. The Brits were a bit out on a limb. The Entertainment was lacking greatly Thank God for the Dutch who use to have a sing a long every evening fine if you were down stairs with them but not so good if you were trying to sleep.

I would say to anyone this hotel is situated in the most beautiful setting ever but think twice about the hotel as it is being exaggerated at advertising it as 4* maybe a 3 but definitely not a 4. If you do decide to go with first choice do not bother to complain about anything to the rep. as she really is not interested.

Marti la Perla icmeler Sept 2006

just back from Marti la Perla my husband and myself were there for one week . we arrived 5.00am but still received a nice welcome Our room was just as it looked on website so very clean especially the spacious bathroom maid service everyday Fresh towels are available at the poolside for pool and beach use. All members of staff are very friendly without being intrusive the only thing that lets this lovely hotel down is the food we have been to all inclusive hotels in turkey before and we do not expect fish@chips or bangers@mash or typically British food to be on

the menu but there were nights we had to eat out as it was awful. All food seems to suit the Russians, dutch and Germans especially the Russians would have climbed over the top of you to fill their plates they don't believe in waiting their turn. On the odd occasion you got something to suit you it was always cold It is defeating the purpose going all inclusive to then have to eat out most of the time. This was the only negative thing we could say about this hotel
